Chipotle Mexican Grill in Frankfurt am Main

Never again. Why? 1) Prices do not include taxes - this is Germany, is that even legal? 2) some ingredients were no longer available and no alternative or double portions of available items offered. Couldn‘t have rice because it had cilantro in it, would have liked some extra beans or a discount instead. Most other toppings also included cilantro so the bowl ultimately ended up being very small for the same price. 3) Also ordered a (leaking) burrito with the same meat and veggies as the bowl. Only got meat first, then asked for veggies and staff seemed very annoyed, then tossed exactly two pieces of pepper on it. Don’t add „fajita veggies“ to the „combine“ step if it’s only an alternative to a meat topping! 4) also ordered chips and salsa. A handful of chips for 3,70€ - totally overpriced. Just like the guacamole for over 4€.

It's a shame how Chipotle has developed. Unfortunately I can only underline the negative reviews here! - The portions have been halved, the prices feel like they have doubled, do you now have to order two portions to get full? - The employees don't talk and when they do they speak in German that is very difficult to understand. - Due to the language barrier, misunderstandings happen again and again, which is the most annoying thing about it. E.g. without asking, some beans and rice were put on my burrito before I could even say anything. When portioning, the ingredients are still skimmed from the ladle as if the employees had to pay for the ingredients out of their own pockets. Even if you complain that the portions are too small, they top it up with half a ladle of cheap rice. The portion size can be seen in the example image above. CONCLUSION: - The employees should all take a language course (can't be that difficult) - The price performance is not right here at all. If this is not adjusted, I will no longer eat at Chipotle. For that money you can probably make a burrito bowl at home 4 times.

Chipotle – Zero stars for mini portions I recently ordered a burrito bowl from Chipotle and was extremely disappointed. For the price you pay, I would have expected at least a decent portion. Instead, my bowl was downright puny. Hardly any rice, hardly any meat, hardly anything! It felt like they had counted out every ingredient and after a few bites the bottom of the bowl was already visible. I've eaten at other Chipotle locations many times and never felt like there was so little served - but this time it was ridiculous. The taste was fine, as always – Chipotle generally makes good food. But when you're hungry and you order a burrito bowl, you expect to be full, not hungry again after ten minutes. Service was okay, but that doesn't make up for the tiny portion. I'm definitely not coming back here. If you want a decent portion, look for another branch or another restaurant.

I can't believe it, but my last visit to Chipotle was a complete disappointment. The bowl I ordered was a joke! The amount of food was so small that I wondered if they forgot to put half of it. There was hardly any rice in it, I almost had to look for the meat with a magnifying glass, and the few beans and pieces of vegetables didn't make up for the lack. When I pay for a full meal, I expect to be full - but that was definitely not the case here. For the price it was a bad joke! I understand that everyone wants to save money, but this clearly went too far. The staff was friendly, but that doesn't help if you're still hungry halfway through the bowl. I am extremely disappointed and will definitely not go here again. If you're looking for a real meal, avoid Chipotle. Zero stars - you definitely won't get full here!

Today had worst experience at Chipotle. Ordered quesadilla .. they make it either cheese or only chicken they don’t put anything else in it. Plus they charged me 5 euros extra just to add chicken. Thus you pay tortilla wrapped with cheese and bland chicken heated up for like 12 euros. And it tasted like rubber. I lost my appetite and they lost a customer forever.

No pico de gallo, no salad. Mini portion for €13

It is the most delicious delicacy I‘ve ever had in my entire life. The guacamole they put inside the Wrap, which was free surprisingly, was so rich and tasteful, that my tastebuds started so melt. The beans were so deliciously wrapped inside the warm wrap, also filled with tomatoes and refreshing salad rounded with warm cheese. I wouldn’t know what to compare the feeling of satisfaction and satiety the food of Chipotle gave me. All in all I wouldn’t be able to compare it to anything else in the world (except when I arrive in America to try Raising Canes)

Taste like it does in the states! Portion sizes are a bit smaller but very reasonable. Worth the trip from KTown. 2024 update: the portion sizes are so so small now and some of the staff could not care less about giving good service. Idk if it’s worth the trip from k town.

Prices increase monthly. Burrito is getting smaller and smaller. The staff seems untrained with broken English. It's a shame, I was a regular.

Completely exorbitant prices and then the food is stingy. That doesn't fit together at all. Even if the portions were twice as large, it would still be outrageously expensive. They made a fool of it with the fact that they wanted more than €5 for an iced tea! Are you crazy?!

The food is delicious and very similar to the USA. What isn't similar are the portions. Mine was almost half the size you get in America. Since it's even more expensive here than in the states, it's really difficult to understand and also disappointing. The last picture shows the portion in the USA. The agua frescas are also missing, which is a shame. You can still go there to satisfy your homesickness for the USA a little.

Enjoyed a burrito here. Portion size is solid. Flavour is good.

An additional deposit is charged on the bottles... but the store is reluctant to pay this back to the customer. A really small bottle of water costs €3 with the deposit, which is not signposted. Most people probably don't even know that there is a deposit because everyone just puts their bottle in the box. I wasn't asked whether I was eating there or not. When I was finished I came to the checkout and said very politely that I just wanted to return the bottle. An employee then said “Yes, give her 15 cents🙄🙄”, even though I was very polite and respectful. Then the deposit that I had to pay additionally was given back to me, which is probably not the norm. It's not about being picky as an individual, it's about people getting ripped off and a good sum coming together at the end of the day from the change collected. In a day with 200 bottles, around €30 would be earned through an extra deposit that is never paid back. If something like this is legal and is used to earn tips, there are certainly other options.

The employees have little or no knowledge of German and English too. None of us enjoyed the food and a person without hands could have folded the burito better. In addition, the toilets were out of order. If I could I would give minus stars.

Whenever we are in Frankfurt and the surrounding area there is no way around the Barbacoa Burrito. It's been very tasty every time so far, hence the 5 stars for the food and the joy that we at least here in Germany can enjoy this burrito. It would be cool if it were also available with jackfruit. It has often been successfully prepared this way at home as a delicious meat-free alternative. 😋

Here everything is prepared as if the employees had to pay for the ingredients out of their own pockets. The ladle is constantly being poured out as if the rice were made of gold. If there are no ingredients, something else is simply put on top without asking. Staff are otherwise nice, everything is clean. For the money I'll go to the numerous other restaurants nearby.

I ate it for the first time, and it was surprisingly delicious. Like with Subway, you can choose your favorite toppings, so you can eat lots of vegetables and protein for a well-balanced meal. Dinner in Frankfurt tends to be kebabs, so I'm glad to have more options.

I've been going every few weeks for several years. The ingredients make a fresh and good impression and taste good. However, the price-performance ratio has become extremely poor recently. It's fast food in a corresponding restaurant on cardboard dishes etc. In my opinion the prices are borderline.

Food tastes very good, but very economical portion. I'm a regular guest at MyZeil Chipotle and get twice as much there (for the same hefty price)! Will definitely not go to Chipotle in Skyline Plaza again. Edit: The MyZeil location also probably had to ration portions, was there again a few days ago and also only got half a ladle per ingredient. Too bad!

Mega delicious - a must when I'm in Frankfurt

Got there 50 minutes before closing and they wouldn’t let us sit in the back of the restaurant. There were no available seats in front.

As a long-time customer: that’s it! You are only served half. I've been there every week so far but the last three times were enough. To the management: you should rethink your strategy - you are not the only restaurant in the district!

- Too expensive. - Tax not included in the price (hate this about the US and they want to introduce this in Germany now 😠) - doesn’t even taste as good as in the US. So many other better options for lesser price out there. Would not recommend and won’t go myself either..

Tastes almost exactly like in the USA. I was finally in Frankfurt again. Unfortunately, chipotle cannot be found anywhere else in Germany. The food was great, the service could have been a little more polite and somehow half the restaurant was cordoned off, but since I was there mainly because of the food and wasn't disappointed, 5 stars.

Food is good. Some of the employees speak no or very little German. Unfortunately, the prices are beyond all logical approaches. Basic price burrito: 11-12 euros Extra Guacamole: €4.35!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Great restaurant and great team.

Paid 24 euros for burrito with double meat and cola. Steak meat was so dry it was hard to chew. Horrible. Never had it before and wanted to try. At least can cross it off the list.

Staff were kind and helpful. The food is as expected from Chipotle. The indoor seating are was closing down prior to 8:30pm on a Monday evening. I took my food for takeaway.

The food in the restaurant was quite tasty and of good quality. However, I think it's overrated for a self-service restaurant. The prices are not proportional to the service concept and I would have liked better value for money. Overall good, but not worth the hype.

If you want to buy an overpriced half-filled bowl then this is the place for you. The rumours are true, they are very stingy with how much food they want to give you.

I really love Chiptole but the burrito bowl portion sizes they give here compared to the US are a complete joke! It barely fills the bowl and it’s not exactly cheap. Not sure if it’s a training issue, company decision or that the staff just don’t care? Please sort it out. Other than that the flavour is really good!

I know Chipotle from the USA and was already impressed there. It was no different here. Tastes really good and fresh.

Very clean branch, very tasty and freshly prepared food. Fast service. Unfortunately there are only two branches in Germany, hopefully that will change soon. I would be happy to come back.

Here there is a very tasty vegan burrito with "Sofritas" (soy meat substitute), just like in the USA. However, the burritos are 50% smaller than in the USA even though food is significantly cheaper here and the guacamole costs a lot at €4.60 for a portion, hence 1 star deduction.

Extremely small vegetarian portions. The prevailing opinion here is that at Veggie you just order a salad and you're not hungry. But it costs just as much as a good portion of chicken on top. When we pointed out that we only got 3-4 small slices of peppers and a few onions and looked at the cashier and confirmed the opinion. The answer was “it’s also salad”

After a long journey from Vienna through Munich, we were exhausted, hungry, and thought we’d play it safe with something familiar from back home. So, we headed to Chipotle Mexican Grill at Skyline Plaza Frankfurt, hoping for a comforting meal. Unfortunately, what we got was a burrito that tasted more like a salt lick than anything else! I wish I could tell you how it tasted, but all we could register was salt, salt, and more salt. We each managed about a quarter of our burritos before my partner started guzzling water like a fish, and I made a mad dash to the bathroom, unsure if I was going to throw up or have to sprint to the toilet! On the bright side, the staff were incredibly friendly and greeted us with a smile, so there’s that. But sadly, no amount of good service can make up for a burrito that leaves you feeling like you’ve just swallowed the ocean.

The burrito could have more content for the price. The taste was okay but not outstanding.

I am a writer from Barcelona who lives in Iceland. I'm on vacation in Germany. I have entered a large shopping center in Frankfurt. There is a lot to choose from and I have opted for Mexican. The burrito is very good and the product is quality and fresh because a lot of people come and that is a good sign. €22 with Coronita beer and guacamole. A little expensive, for a fast food, but I was satisfied.

Truly, a luxury item for avocado enthusiasts. In a city with stellar Mexican food, Chipotle’s overpriced, underwhelming fare stands out for all the wrong reasons. Save your money and taste buds – Frankfurt has far better options.

Bad food, over rated , expensive

Friendly staff, relaxed location and pleasantly filled but not full. It depends on the combination you choose whether the food tastes good or not. If you like burritos, this is definitely the place for you.

I love Chipotle in the USA! It used to be really good here, but now there's far too little rice and beans and I think the prices are too high for fast food. Cleanliness was also better. A pity.

Maybe it's because I had high expectations, but it's just edible. There are only two types of rice, but both have a little bit of cilantro in them, so they're not that good.

Here we tried the taccos, which were simply delicious. Very friendly service!

AVOID, upselling ripoff. €4.35 for this stupid tiny spoon of guacamole on a €10 salad. Yeah, no.

I could eat the veggie bowl each day everyday. It tastes like food made by a mother...good quantity, healthyish, good macros. If you want fancy gourmet, you should go somewhere else. I put in it: brown rice, Black beans, veggies, guacamole, salsa Medium spicy, sauer cream, cheese (now and then) and salat. The cheese I don't usually need it, because it's not my favorite cheese. The food Tasten like real food. The price 10,50 goes well with the size. Love it.

I had FOOD POISONING on June 21st from a chicken burrito. I was vomiting and having diarrhea all night. PLEASE PAY ATTENTION TO THE HYGIENE OF YOUR FOOD!!!!!!!

I always think the food at Chipotle is very good. The service is also okay and the location in Skyline Plaza is great. The one thing that always bothers me about Chipotle is the prices. I think over 30 euros for 2 burritos is too much. If the prices were a little lower, I would probably eat there more often. So unfortunately I can “only” give it 4 stars.

Overpriced with just very average food taste and quality. The tax is not included in the food price as well. Charged you the Pfand for the bottle when you anyway still gave them the bottle back 🫡 Service is also just very meh. I don’t recommend to eat here, nothing great, you can always get way better wrap or tacos or burrito at a lower price and better taste.

Food didn't taste good at all, beef tasted like foot and it was hard and not tasty. The employees were very unsympathetic, they laughed at me the whole time because I asked for a recommendation. I would never eat there again, I have Forced me to finish the meal. Waste of money.

I love Chipotle but unfortunately the portions here are far too small and the service is unfriendly. Replacing US DOLLAR symbols with Euros and halving the portion doesn't work. Only in the USA!

The staff here were awesome! So friendly 😍 I hope we see more Chipotles in Germany in the near future but until then we’re happy to drive down to Frankfurt from time to time for a special occasion 😊🙌💗

The service was very good, the place was comfortable, but the important thing in a restaurant should be the food and here I had to pay 25 euros for a lousy burrito, very bad taste, very uncomfortable to eat, the roast beef was cold and very fibrous, difficult to chew, the overall flavor I would give it a 2, I would prefer to eat a Donner for 8 euros. Disappointing experience.

Well, it's the same as always, of course you can choose whatever you want. It's fine to eat quickly and nothing more. Chili sauces can be eaten as many times as you want.

Lousy value for money. 38 euros for 2 people and not even full. There's a mouse who lives in the guest room and he runs around there funny. Very tastefull...

Really small portions compared to US. They only added 2-3 chicken pieces and when we asked to add more and they said it's double portion. Everything was cold when we went there. Paid 1.5€ for hot salsa. Very disappointed. Onl Fritz Cola available.

I love Mexican food and since I was at the Skyline shopping center and saw this restaurant, I decided to try something from this wonderful country. My first surprise was that you have to understand how everything works. You have to choose a lot of ingredients and each person asks you what you want to put in your food. Until you get what you've been through by three or four people. They ask it so quickly that you don't understand anything. I decided to eat a burrito. They heat the bread very quickly, it was not well done. The burrito is rolled up in silver paper. When you open it to eat it and take the first bites, everything falls apart and part of the filling comes out. Part of the blame for this is the thinness of the tortilla. I found it difficult to eat it and of course I stained it. Other than that, it had almost none of the flavor I know from Mexican food. A shame!

Great food and very very VERY friendly staff

As an American college student living abroad, there are not many chances to have a culinary experience in Europe that so closely replicates, or even surpasses, the joy of eating in a place you feel at home. Sure, you can walk through most major cities and find the Golden Arches or the cardboard crowns, but sometimes as a weary traveler dealing with canceled trains and dragging luggage to every corner of the continent, one must seek a more fulfilling experience that satisfies the mind, body, and spirit. That, my friends, is the essence of Chipotle. And this one hit the spot in ways I could have never imagined. My double-wrapped, double white rice, double chicken burrito with practically every topping possible was nothing short of what I’d call a gift from God. It was a 1,500 calorie protein bomb designed to vaporize every negative feeling in my body. Every bite took me back to other moments in life where a proper big burrito has brought me joy. Cincinnati. Oxford, Ohio after a long day out uptown and in backyards. A highway in Tennessee after hours of driving. In Florida, sunburned and exhausted from the beach. And now, Frankfurt, Germany, an unlikely hero, entering the fold from across the globe and serving me what I can only describe as catharsis after going 4 months without. If I had known of the Paris franchises, I would have experienced this a while ago, but having had this moment right now, I’m glad I waited until now. May every burrito I order in the states this summer remind me of that day in Germany, and hopefully, may one surpass it. Bravo.

Nice seating, the food is perfect, but far too expensive and the employees are hectic and don't put enough meat in.

It doesn't taste nearly as good as in the USA, the ordering process is very quick and hectic and the portions are also very small. In addition, there is only Tabasco and no salsa as is usual in Mexico. My burrito with carne al pastor didn't taste like al pastor either and completely fell apart halfway through. Never again!

Extra guacamole for 4,5€ is way too much. Plus the portion size of the burrito bowl is insufficient for the prize.
