Flugplatzgaststätte-Mont-Royal in Traben-Trarbach

We ate very well here. The goulash here is excellent. Only recommended... We were there twice in 2024 and again ate very well. Keep it up, we'll be back in 2025.

Delicious food cordon blue and goulash for a good price. Very friendly couple run a small restaurant together. Would definitely eat there again.

We and the helicopter pilots came for the delicious food. The super friendly staff and especially the goulash soup are real highlights. Worth a visit even without an air show.

Good menu, very nice staff, quick service. Prices are absolutely reasonable. Nice ambience. Unfortunately, I was unlucky that there was no pilot available to take a sightseeing flight during my stay. For sightseeing flights, it's better to call in advance. The place is absolutely recommended.

We came across this air-strip/airport restaurant serving Hungarian dishes on Google map, so decided to drive to this interesting place and was not disappointed! We ordered Hungarian beef goulash with potatoes and also Ratatouille. Food was very nice and hearty, prepared by a Hungarian couple with their lovely children around the house. In addition, we had 2 desserts because they were so delicious, we could not leave just eating 1 cake! We also took a photo with the restaurant folks as keepsake of our trip here in Germany. We also saw various kinds of take off by propeller plane, gliders and also landing!

Kleine, aber feine Gaststätte mit Original ungarischen Gerichten wie z.B. Langos, Gulasch, Suppen. Die Inhaber sind aus Ungarn und kochen mit viel Liebe und authentisch und sind super nett!😋 Preise sind moderat. Dazu der Blick auf den Flughafen des Segelflugvereins. Bei guten Wetterbedingungen interessant den Flugverkehr zu beobachten. 👍🏼

Unfortunately I can't give it more than two stars. It was dirty, smelled of grease and was cold. Apparently the tablecloths haven't seen the inside of the washing machine for several weeks, and dust hasn't been wiped for a long time... The quality of the food was slightly worse than standard frozen products from the supermarket. It makes you full, but not happy. If you don't have any requirements, you can eat there, let alone the dishes that are on the menu are also available... I had a homemade cordon bleu with hollandaise sauce. The meat wasn't cooked enough for me, the cheese seemed to have been put on the schnitzel yesterday, the sauce didn't taste like hollandaise and in my opinion some of the stalk doesn't belong in a dry salad. Once and never weirder it sums it up quite well. :)

Great Hungarian friendliness, even better Hungarian goulash soup - very easy to reach and when the weather is nice you can see gliders taking off.

Had a delicious meal at the airport. Google maps still indicated that the road towards Traben-Trarbach was closed. But you can currently get to the airport from Mont Royal. We returned several times during our stay at Mont Royal for a drink and something tasty. The goulash soup was excellent. The langos and goulash are also recommended. Followed by a delicious ice cream. The view of the (glider) planes taking off and the super friendly service from a hard-working couple made it complete.

Small excursion restaurant right at the airport. The hospitality is warm/friendly and children are also very well looked after. It is ideal to visit at times when the terrace can be used (direct view of the airfield), inside it is tidy but you can see a certain amount of renovation behind it. The dishes on offer are always freshly prepared, there is an extensive ice cream menu and the selection of cakes is also okay (although they are no longer baked in-house).

Sorry, I don't know how the reviews came about so far. The innkeepers are very nice and the landlady's service is good, no question; the ambience, well. Matured. But the food wasn't that great. My partner's salmon was totally over-seasoned with hot paprika, the meat of my goulash was overgrown and of poor quality. The langos are good.

While we were hiking, we decided to go to the restaurant on the spur of the moment to have something to drink. We were immediately greeted very nicely. The restaurant is run by a couple from Hungary. Both are extremely nice. He cooks and she does the service. We had a very good time. We ended up staying longer than expected and eating there. Really delicious food. We had Hungarian goulash and a Hungarian bratwurst. Both dishes were really delicious and highly recommended. There was also a free schnapps after the meal. It would definitely be my favorite place if I lived nearby. Please keep it up, you're great.

We took a break there 2 hours ago because of the heavy rain ☔️. My wife and I each drank a beer 🍺 0.3 and each had a piece of raspberry cake 🎂. It was all very tasty 😋. We can only recommend it.

We came here by bike and had to go a long way further. Therefore we were only able to try out smaller dishes. The Langos was like in Budapest, just great. And first the goulash soup. Super tasty. Plus the nice service. Next time we'll come by so we can try out the goulash dishes too. It was very worth cycling up here.

Very nice hospitality with an outstanding original Hungarian goulash soup after a beautiful circular route through the old fortifications with beautiful views.

It can be found via navigation at some point, but at first glance it seems inconspicuous. The goulash and asparagus menu were excellent and the innkeepers were super friendly. The schnapps afterwards is also particularly tasty.

A családdal ebédeltünk csendes nagyon finomat nyugodt környezetben. Wir haben mit der Familie in einer sehr schönen und ruhigen Umgebung zu Mittag gegessen.

So stelle ich mir perfekte Gastronomie vor. Extrem nette und humorvolle Bedienung. Sensationelles Essen, besonders die einmalig lecker zubereitete Gulaschsuppe. Ob hochgewandert oder mit dem PKW angereist, es lohnt sich in jedem Fall. Sollte ich hier auch nur wieder vorbeifahren, ich halte auf jeden Fall. Vielen Dank für die Einmalige Bewirtung. Really recommended! We had delicious Langos beforehand (four of us) - super good. Then goulash soup (great) and goulash (good). The price is also completely okay. The landlord and his wife are original, totally friendly and very hard working. The ambience is rather simple, a bit stuffy inside. All in all, absolutely okay and recommended if you are happy with a simple atmosphere and appreciate delicious food (primarily Hungarian) at fair prices.

Leider hatten wir nur Pech an der Mosel mit Restaurants , entweder Ruhetag oder unhöfliches Personal . Dieses Restaurant ist hingegen ein wirklicher Geheimtipp . Chef inkl Personal , das netteste was die Mosel zu bieten hat . Essen ist einfach unglaublich und die Preise total normal . Wünsche dem Team alles gute weiterhin.

Unglaublich nette Bedienung, ich würde sagen die netteste Bedienung in unserem ganzen Urlaub. Ärgerlich das wir nur einmal, an unserem letzten Tag hierher essen gegangen sind. Das Essen, wir hatten das ungarische Reh Gulasch , ich kann es nur mit einem Wort beschreiben „WOW“ unbeschreiblich lecker. Respekt an den Koch! 👌🏼 Nur zu empfehlen hierher zukommen. Es lohnt sich. Vielen lieben Dank an den Inhaber für die leckeren Schnäpse aus Ungarn, war uns eine Ehre mit Ihnen anstoßen zu dürfen. Wenn ich hier wohnen würde, würde ich jeden Tag hier essen! ☺️

Mussten etwas länger auf s Essen warten aber hat sich sehr gelohnt . Das riesige Jägerschnitzel war wirklich riesig kann man sich vorstellen wie 2 Schnitzel aneinander. Am Essen war nicht s auszusetzen. Waren das 1. Mal da kommen gerne wieder. :-) Tolle selbstgebackene Torten vom Chef.

Wir wurden herzlich empfangen. Die ungarische Küche war klasse und kann 100% empfohlen werden. Wer hier wandert sollte hier eine Pause einlegen. Es lohnt sich! Auch für die tierisches Gäste wird gleich gesorgt.

Schöne Terrasse direkt am kleinen Flugplatz. Sehr netter lustiger Wirt und der Weltbesten Apfelstrudel mit Vanilleeis und Sahne. Wir kommen bestimmt wieder um die original ungarische Gulaschsuppe zu probieren. Fazit. Immer gerne wieder.

Ein sehr empfehlenswertes Ausflugslokal - sehr freundliche und aufmerksame Bedienung. Das Essen - hier wird auch ungarische Küche serviert - ist sehr lecker. Die Lage auf dem Mont Royal ist perfekt - allerdings sowohl zu Fuß als auch mit dem Fahrrad eine Herausforderung.

Gemütliches Flugplatzrestaurant, ein unglaublich netter und fröhlicher Wirt, der auf alle Gäste mit Freundlichkeit und Humor eingeht. Leckeres Essen, viele ungarische Leckereien. Gutes Preis- / Leistungsverhältnis. Und es gibt immer etwas "zu sehen" durch die Segel- und Motorflugzeuge, die starten und landen. Kann man nur weiterempfehlen !!!!!

Äußerlich unscheinbar am Rand des Flugplatzes und nahe der Festungsruine Mont Royal. Habe nichts erwartet, aber einen sehr freundlichen und aufmerksamen Service bekommen. Das Essen war einfach aber lecker und mit sehr gutem Preis-/Leistungsverhältnis.

Ich war mit meiner Freundin im April über Ostern in Enkirch im Kurzurlaub, waren dort mit dem Hund spazieren und sind dann auf die Gaststätte gestoßen. Super freundlich empfangen worden, dass Essen war auch super. Können wir sehr empfehlen.

Sind gerade im Urlaub durch Zufall hier vorbeigekommen, essen zu Mittag. Also,ich muss sagen: Essen lecker, Gastwirt super freundlich, Portion:reichlich. Kann man nur weiterempfehlen. Wir gehen hier mit Sicherheit nochmal her. Gulaschsuppe essen! 😊

Heerlijk ontspannen gegeten, gedronken en gezeten!!! Super vriendelijke bediening. Eten was uitstekend!! En als afsluiter na de echte hongaarse goulash een lekkere schnaps….. Gaan er zeker nog eens heen.

Uitstekende bediening, gezellig, en lekker eten. Aanrader is de Hongaarse Goulash soep! Sluit eigenlijk om 17.00 op zondag maar hun klantgerichtheid is geweldig, ze bleven voor ons nog tot 19.00 open 👏

Gemütliches Ausflugslokal direkt am Flugplatz, sehr gutes Essen und kühles Bier was will man mehr. Kommen immer wieder gerne vorbei.

Wir sind durch Zufall hier im Biergarten gelandet und wollten eigentlich nur etwas Trinken. Haben uns dann doch zum Essen entschieden und kann das Essen hier nur weiterempfehlen. Sehr zu empfehlen ist das Langos (Brot) mit Schmand und Käse. Hier werde ich auf jeden Fall bei Gelegenheit wieder hinfahren.

Ein gut gelaunter Chef, eine einfache, aber leckere Küche, die er aus seiner ungarischen Heimat mitgebracht hat, und faire Preise. Was will man mehr? Vielleicht längere Öffnungszeiten?😉
