Die Mosel Vinothek & Winebar in Traben-Trarbach

I work in the wine industry in Belgium, and I'm here in the Moselle region for the weekend. Unfortunately, I don't have time to visit any wineries because my wife isn't as keen on that sort of thing. I'm familiar with the traditional (often overly sweet) Moselle Rieslings, and I'm even acquainted with the new natural wineries that are popping up (Lesom, JPB Wine, Peter Kozma, etc.). I chose this restaurant/wine shop/bar via the Raisin app because of its selection of modern and natural wines. My goal was to taste some more surprising wines and, above all, to buy a few to add to my cellar without having to visit all the wineries due to lack of time. That was my pitch when I walked into the restaurant. And it was the same when I left: NO bottle. Don't get me wrong, we ate very well! BUT, I asked the two waiters three times for recommendations on what to buy to take home, and nothing, nada, zero. I was told they'd let me taste: yes, they did let me taste the wines by the glass. I was told the owner would advise me… but he never came. I was never asked what I wanted, I was never offered a natural wine (there's only one by the glass) even though the restaurant claims to be natural and is on the Grape app. In short, I left with a €110 bill. I could have bought three times that amount in bottles if I'd received decent service and advice because I have no doubt the selection is well done. But perhaps it was the language barrier or a lack of interest… In short, my highlight of the weekend in Moselle as a wine lover was completely ruined. I'm quite bitter!

A wonderful place to enjoy yourself, with excellent hosts. After the first evening, we immediately booked again for the next day. That says it all!

Great shop, I wish I lived around the corner; I'd be there all the time. It immediately puts you in a festive mood; everything is so cozy and friendly. The bread itself is a work of art, along with the super-good butter, delicious oil, and so on.

We stumbled upon "Die Mosel" rather unprepared and by chance, and tapas weren't exactly on our radar. However, we ordered from the entire menu and simply ate our way through every plate and pot, truly tasting everything we could. It was the best meal we've had in a very long time and definitely one of the better restaurants in the region. It immediately made it into our top 3 favorite restaurants in the Hunsrück and surrounding towns.

The atmosphere is simply magnificent, the food (ideal for sharing) incredibly delicious, and the wine list is extremely diverse. The service was exceptionally friendly and welcoming, and the owners are extremely hospitable – you immediately sense that they put a lot of love and care into their work. An absolutely fantastic experience at Die Mosel Vinothek & Winevar in Traben-Trarbach! 🌟 We were in a really cool location, ate incredibly good tapas, and enjoyed excellent wine. 🍷 The combination of ambiance, food, and drinks was simply perfect – an absolute recommendation for anyone who appreciates enjoyment and atmosphere!

Unfortunately, the prices for the dishes are disproportionately high considering the size. Additionally, the tapas come out one after the other, so you can't share them at the table as is usually the case. Instead, you get three tapas one after the other over the course of 1.5 hours, which means you'll have to wait a long time. The service is friendly, but not attentive and not always on the go. Even though the food was delicious, we won't be coming back. The location was very nice!

We dined here last night with our children, ages 6 and 3. Although the atmosphere isn't geared towards children, they were warmly welcomed with toys and other treats. The food was delicious, and the flavor combinations were very interesting. One of the best restaurants I've ever eaten at. The service was excellent—attentive, helpful, and fast. We had the spinach, bavette carpaccio, eggplant, krispy chicken, empanadas, and potatoes. I'll definitely be back.

An absolutely wonderful evening with a fantastic chef. A very nice terrace and excellent tapas to eat. They also have a very, very good wine selection, including organic wines, orange wines, and natural wines. The value for money is absolutely spot on. I'd be happy to come back here again. The ambiance is also amazing. The interior is truly eye-catching. Outside, on the terrace, you have a beautiful view of the Moselle.

We spontaneously stopped by on Friday for a drink, but – because the menu sounded delicious – ordered a few small snacks to go with our wine. We were so impressed with the food, the ambiance, and the truly warm and attentive service that we immediately booked a table for dinner the following day. We had the bread, the cold cuts, the cheese platter, the seaweed salad with squid, the croquetas, the empanadas, and the hummus. We went on two days, though :-) Everything was simply delicious, well-seasoned, and perfectly served by friendly staff. The wine was also great, especially the Riesling from the Dr. Hermann winery in Erden, which paired perfectly with the meal. On top of that, there's a dining room decorated with great attention to detail and a cozy terrace with a stunning view of the Moselle. We'll definitely be back and are already looking forward to it.

We had a fantastic evening here!! A wonderful welcome by an incredibly nice sommelier. We drank a super tasty selection of wines. The food was also delicious! Everything neatly presented, tasted great and good portions. The hostess also does her very best to make you feel at ease, you feel at home.. The terrace is very pleasant to sit on, with a beautiful view of the city on the other side. It is also worth stepping inside the shop. The whole thing is held together by a beautiful Mosel river that 'flows' through the room. Very nicely done! Keep up the good work!!!

Perfection all the way. We went there yesterday because it looked so great online. The evening "in the Moselle" significantly exceeded our expectations. It was just so, so incredibly beautiful. You can feel the closeness and connection, the expertise of each individual – an absolute experience all the way through. Great wines, excellent food from a modern kitchen with selected ingredients from regional suppliers. The highest quality, we felt very, very comfortable. Even the children and dogs were warmly welcomed. An absolute insider tip if you value high standards! We'll be back. Thank you very much. UPDATE: Since I obviously can't write more than one review, I'm adding these lines to my review from our first visit to "the Moselle," because now we come back to Traben-Trabach on the Moselle every year (not least because of this wonderful wine bar). My words above are apt; the elegance and sophistication of this bar are still so, so good. Burku and Manuel always stay true to their style, and we love it just as much with them. For us, one of the best addresses in Europe! Thank you again and again ♥️

This is an easy 5 stars. My wife and I visited from the USA for the first time and were looking for a place that could give us a good introduction to Mosel wine. Well, look no further, because they have a well curated list and are very enthusiastic about sharing their knowledge. Add in the tapas style plates with a large variety of interesting choices and you have the perfect ingredients for a lovely visit. Great ambiance too!

We went for dinner on Friday evening, December 27th. A great restaurant. The restaurant owner is very attentive. The food is great. The environment is very nice, clean and high quality. There are tapas to appeal to everyone, they are all delicious.

Wir haben die Vinothek mit Freunden nach dem Weihnachtsmarkt besucht. Das Ambiente ist sehr ansprechend, aber das Preis Leistungs Verhältnis lässt sehr zu wünschen übrig: Sehr sehr kleine Portionen und im Verhältnis zu teuer. Die extra Brotbestellung hat uns den Magen dann etwas gefüllt. Zudem hatten wir auch wesentlich mehr vom Geschmack des Essens erwartet. Die Sardellen mit Bohnen schmeckten sehr fad und das Fleischgericht war auch entsprechrnd ohne Geschmack nur etwas scharf. Bei der Bedienung besteht noch großer Lernbedarf im Umgang mit Gästen. Er hat uns nicht bei der Auswahl der Tapas geholfen und entgegnete nur dass alle Gerichte gut seien. Das konnten wir leider nicht bestätigen und waren im Ganzen mehr wie enttäuscht.

Wir haben angerufen und bekamen noch ein Zeitfenster für einen Tisch. Der kompetente sehr freundlicher Service hatte dir richtigen Empfehlungen für Wein und Speisen. Meine weltgereisten Freund waren sehr begeistert. Sehr zu empfehlen lokale Produkte interessante und genussreiche Kreationen, die immer wieder begeistern und bereits beim Besuch eine Vorfreude für den nächsten Besuch auslösen Danke

Yesterday we wanted to get something to eat at short notice. Unfortunately, we were told that there was only the small menu because the kitchen would close in 15 minutes for an hour and later everything would be fully booked. But we were hungry, so we stayed. For my taste, the small menu is quite manageable when it comes to vegetarian dishes. We therefore decided on piementos, patata bravas, beetroot carpachio and bread with Camenbert, with 2 glasses of wine and 2 espressos. Total 66.50 euros. The food was ok, but didn't blow us away. The beetroot Carpachio was particularly disappointing. The vinaigrette was far too sweet for our taste; we would have preferred the earthiness of the beetroot. In our opinion, the red sauce for the Patata Bravas was just ketchup with a bit of heat in it, but definitely not salsa. Too bad. We commented on both, but there was no real response. However, the wine tasted very good and the ambience is great. The restaurant is really nicely decorated, really something to look at. On the terrace you have a wonderful view of the Moselle. Unfortunately the food didn't convince us, but tastes are different. The prices are also a bit too high in our opinion. I think 5 euros for a small bowl of olives is expensive and 14 euros for a beetroot Carpachio is a steep price.

Eat really well in a cozy atmosphere. My favorite was the beetroot carpaccio. But everything was delicious. Very competent wine recommendations. We had a great evening, THANK YOU!

The Dutch-speaking waiter was very friendly. He also had a lot of knowledge about the wines. Also gave a lot of information about the production of the wines, etc. I might have forgotten it, but the food was very tasty. The food is shared dining. We had bread with the meat and cheese plate. Then the Patatas bravas, mussels and pork devil. Then to finish, a crema Catalana with a dessert wine. Definitely recommended if you are in the area.

Hier heerlijk met vrienden buiten op het terras gegeten. Verschillende kleine gerechtjes met heerlijke en verrassende smaken. Vooral een op witte wijn georiënteerde wijnkaart, maar nauwelijks keus aan rode wijn. Heel vriendelijke bediening door een Nederlandse ober. Soms even wachten want het was best druk. ‘s Avonds een feeëriek uitzicht over de Moezel!
