Felsbaude Lilienstein in Bad Schandau

We went there for a drink after our climb up Lilienstein. No long waiting times, the service was great and organized.

Today we were in the rock hut in bright sunshine. Food and drinks were all good. For the people who are upset about prices and offers, traipse up here every day and do this job. We thought it was totally okay and were happy that there was an option for food here. Thanks

Nice rest after a long hike. There was a choice of both vegetarian and meat dishes. The menu is manageable, but well selected. Fresh cakes are also available.

We just took a short drinking break here and were thrilled by the nice, friendly landlady. We felt welcome and are already looking forward to the next time.

Were there today, but didn't go in because of the smell of old frying grease. The prices on the menu are more than awesome. And the fact that you have to pay a whole €2(!) as a non-guest to use the toilet is out of the question!

Delicious food and friendly service ☀️ the menu is relatively small but varied. I was very satisfied and think that there is something for everyone.

Easter Sunday - best weather. 2:25 p.m. - Cakes all. Free seats? Nope. Basically there is no ice cream. Pee? As a non-guest 2€. Typically East. And then wonder...

Just nice....super friendly, food was delicious, simple menu, but currywurst etc. is always good 👍🏼 was there for the second time, will definitely come back. The girls with their great motivation deserve more than 5 stars. Informal and not a star restaurant, that's always the nicest thing and when you think about how everything gets to the mountain... you don't need a word for it 😃

There were 5 of us with you today and it was really great.🥰 We didn't even have to wait long for a table and the service was really cool and nice. Food was also great and the price was completely ok. Your bikers from table 1 will definitely come back

Unfortunately, as a dark-skinned person you won't be served, so we can't say anything positive.

I had been there once. I had the currywurst fries. My father had the potato pancakes and my brother had the potato soup with garnish. When a somewhat cheeky family man became cheeky upon arrival, the waitress skillfully countered. With never-before-heard Saxon wit, she quickly put him in his place. All standard questions about the location are answered on the map. (See Appendix). Spezi was delicious delicious.

A great excursion restaurant, nice ambience, fast service and a very funny waitress who also knows how to have fun.

The beer is good, the service is friendly but resolute. There was no more food at 2:45 p.m. At 3:15 p.m. the gate to the outdoor area was locked so that no more paying guests could endanger the end of the working day.

Lilienstein rock hut Great location, delicious food (good after a hike), humane prices and friendly service. From Lilienstein you have a great view in all directions. The ascent is relaxed and varied (northern ascent). We visited the field hut on Saturday in March. Recommendation 👍🏼

We have been coming to Lilienstein several times a year for many years and are guests in the mining lodge. We feel welcome here and are always happy to be able to discuss our experiences with other hikers at the table. Great conversations often arise. We are also very satisfied with the service and the food. In this context, a question for Ms. Leistner (review about a week ago): where have you ever eaten such good industrial soup? I would be interested immediately... In any case, we are already looking forward to March, a good time for all our fellow campaigners... and until then.

Today, with -2 degrees, snow and strong gusts of wind, I took the liberty of putting on my scarf in the shelter of the inn and pouring myself a sip of tea. I wasn't quite finished when the landlady (?) came out the door and said the following words to me: "Please move away from MY window, it looks ugly from inside." - I'll just leave it like that.

Cozy hut with great food and first-class, friendly service! Simply perfect for stopping off.

Cold room, had to sit on my scarf as there was only an old wooden bench. Level snack hall GDR. Landlady very loud, intrusive, addressed everyone as YOU. Heard how a lady was seated with a family at the next table. Original sound: "We'll sit the lady at the table with you!" The three of them sat unhappily in a very small space. From then on I was afraid that she would do that to me too! From then on my food was in my stomach. Abusive towards both parties. The dining room was almost empty!!!!! I've never experienced such impudence! 2 plates of industrial soup, 1 coffee, 1 beer, 2 pieces of industrial cake = 50 euros... the reader judges for himself. I don't come here anymore. For me, the lady meets the criteria of an NPKS.

I climbed the Lilienstein via the southern ascent, which in my opinion is the more interesting ascent. We received a very friendly welcome and our thirst was quenched in no time. The food was delicious and is definitely recommended. Toilets were very clean. All in all, hospitality is very important here. This was definitely not our last visit. With this in mind, all the best to the Lilienstein rock hut team, stay healthy and see you again soon 👋🏻👍 Update 12/29/2024 We felt welcome again today. Food was delicious as always. Nice place. The staff was very nice, funny and accommodating. After the climb you can have a delicious meal and a delicious beer. The short tour above is also recommended.

Today the four of us had lunch in the rock hut. We received a super friendly welcome, the food came very quickly and tasted really delicious. We can highly recommend the rock hut!!

The 0.4l beer/Radler €5.10. The lady at the counter was a bit overwhelmed: "I wasn't prepared for the weekend." Tables were occupied or blocked with reserved signs. Didn't convince us.

The friendliest inn in Saxon Switzerland. Hospitality is lived here in the truest sense. Extremely friendly staff with a fine sense of humor. We came in with 12 people and had our delicious meals very quickly. Many thanks to the team at Felsenbaude Lilienstein

We ate poppy seed cake and drank coffee/cappuccino there! The cake was very good! The coffee wasn't great, the cappuccino was okay! Since the prices are quite high, we came to almost €20 and there are points deducted; At the entrance it said that you can't pay with a card for less than €15, so I see that I can pay with a card for more than €15! It was more like luck that I still had €20 with me! Wouldn't have gone in if it hadn't said €15! What would have happened if we hadn't had any money with us? Quickly down from Lilienstein to the EC machine and up again?🤔

Very rude staff (lady with short hair).

We were there on Sunday at 3:30 p.m., according to the notice it was open until 4 p.m. and we were told in an extremely rude manner that they would now close. Not a nice statement that we would like to have a drink but the kitchen is already closed or something like that. Just unfriendly rejections. That alone would be a reason for a complaint, but the cherry on top is the fact that a couple who arrived after us were still served drinks. It's a shame when you treat potential guests like that.

Very family unfriendly. Stuffy and bad service. Prices like those in mountain huts in the high mountains, where the food is delivered by helicopter, but with poorer, lower quality. Actual service times only at lunchtime from 11:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., although opening times are advertised from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Absolutely no recommendation. It's better to stop at a café or restaurant in Bad Schandau or Königstein before or after.

The lady at the table next to us was coughing a lot. When we wanted to change the table we were told that we either sit where we were assigned or to go outside (even though there were other available tables). The personnel were terribly rude.

We had a very nice stay here and would like to thank you again for the nice service. The food tasted great and, unknown to us, we had a great conversation with our neighbors over a glass of beer.

We visited the “Lustigen Wirt” inn some time ago. Since today we also know a funny landlady who has her restaurant under control very well. The menu is adapted to the ambience. This means there are simple but tasty dishes at reasonable prices. The staff is friendly and accommodating. Beer garden style ambience goes well with the restaurant. There are enough seats. If the weather is very nice and there is an increased number of visitors, you may have to wait a few minutes, but the boss will seat you as quickly as possible. A small note for everyone who wants to visit the restaurant and therefore climb the Lilienstein, we recommend the climb via the northern route, which is a little easier. When you then hike back towards the parking lot via the southern route, you can see and experience everything that defines the Lilienstein.

The very last pub I ever experienced, we wanted to sit at a table with six chairs when the waitress came and told us that we should sit at the table with people so that the table remained free for large families. Well, after seeing the finished dishes here, it's a good thing we didn't eat anything. I give my money to nicer innkeepers than up here.

The cake is super delicious, cheese and apple crumble. The service is super nice and the order comes super quickly. Great mountain restaurant, open even in drizzly weather.

The GDR is back! We were up 5 minutes before 5pm. We were still able to order and received 2 really fresh glasses of Pils. A little something to eat was no longer possible... Exactly 5 minutes later the payment was made. Afterwards the innkeepers were still there and bustled around a bit. When I asked again to receive 2 more drinks, the decision was rejected... I know that, it's like 40 years ago! Nevertheless, it was written that they wanted to be rated on Google. I have hereby fulfilled this wish.

Five of us were in the rock hut at lunchtime on August 26th, 2024. At the beginning everything was good. We ordered four drinks, a solyanka and one currywurst with fries. The solyanka was too small for the price, but the fries tasted very good. I actually wanted to go to the toilet again after we paid, but the group decided to enjoy the view first. So I was there again after about 30-45 minutes and explained to the boss that I had eaten here before and asked if I could go to the toilet again. It was then explained to me in a very unfriendly manner that we hadn't ordered/eaten enough here and that I was therefore not allowed to use the toilet. I was pretty shocked at first after that statement and we left. I would have understood if I had been told that I should have left straight away and had to pay money now, but the statement that we didn't eat enough to be allowed to use the toilet is incomprehensible and I won't do that with such expensive prices support.

We were up there on Thursday - actually closed. But since the staff was there anyway, they opened spontaneously. Much to the delight of all hikers. Big thank you😍 and thumbs up. 👍🏻 So we couldn't rate the food. But since we were already preparing for Friday, we could smell: This is going to be delicious.😋

What a beautiful addition to this wonderful natural monument. The performance of the nice staff every day (see last page on the map) deserves respect! You are great!!! I'd love to come back here... 🙂👍

After we accidentally entered the restaurant area "on our own" to sit at a free table, we were harshly reprimanded that, according to the signs, we had to wait outside until a seat was assigned. We had simply overlooked the signs, apologized for it, but were now "punished" by two families who came after us being placed in front of us. This was also commented on as follows: “Now it’s the others’ turn.” I didn't want to come here anymore. I found the boss's behavior and manner very unfriendly and provocative. If the Lilienstein is the only place to stop for refreshments, you might be able to afford such an attitude. However, I think that this speaks neither for hospitality nor for professionalism.

Visit the Lilienstein, the slightly steeper climb is 100% worth it, the view and the extensive terrain up there are stunning. And then, to top it all off, visit the rock hut! Delicious food, very fair prices, you feel comfortable and welcome, and the owner and staff are super friendly. And helpful beyond measure. We lost our bike key and got it back with all of your help, thank you thank you thank you

I think you get a nice reward for the climb because there is a sufficient and tasty menu and if you want you can even go into the public pool. The toilets in both are also very clean.

Underground. June 29th 29 degrees in the shade. Arrive, buy ice cream and want to go to the toilet, the toilet costs an extra euro for one person. Small taps in the toilet so you can't refill your normal water bottles. Ask the waitresses if they can refill our water bottles. Don't pretend it's not drinking water. I repeat several times that I don't care, but that in these temperatures I would like to have my water bottle filled with (not drinking) tap water. Don't do it. I can buy the liter for €4.50 a bottle. Finally I give in. We realize that we don't have enough cash on us. Ask if we can pay by card. Does not work either. Only from 15€. They let us go away without water. We would be right back in the valley and could get water there. What about this world?

Great and super friendly place to stop for a break on the Lilienstein. Thank you for your hospitality, which unfortunately is not very important everywhere in Saxony. We had beer and cake and that was delicious! Great lawn behind the restaurant. The landlady always has an open ear and her relaxed, laid-back manner makes this hiking highlight a real place of well-being. Everything is perfect here, we would love to come back (perhaps with mountain goats as natural lawn mowers?!? ;-))

I was recently at the Liliensteinbaude and I have to say it was an absolute disappointment. The coffee was not only undrinkable, but also completely overpriced. An outrageous price was charged for a pot of lukewarm water with a hint of coffee flavor. Added to this is the unfriendly service, which makes you feel like you are not welcome there. The atmosphere was typically German – cold and distant. It seems as if they are just looking for a quick profit without any consideration for quality or service. Overall, I can't recommend anyone to visit the Liliensteinbaude. However, if you're looking for bad coffee and rude treatment at inflated prices, this is the place for you. By the way, the parking lot at Lilienstein is another disgrace. You can only buy a day ticket there, and only in cash. No card payments, no hourly billing – absolutely customer-unfriendly. Anyone who is not yet able to offer flexible and modern payment methods these days has definitely missed the boat. You literally feel forced to pay more than you actually need. Overall, this inflexible and old-fashioned parking lot perfectly rounds off the already disappointing experience at the Liliensteinbaude. A little tip: come without a car and take enough provisions with you. Then you can still enjoy the beautiful Lilienstein 😉

We stopped at the rock hut for a quick lunch. The staff was very friendly and the owner also had time for a chat. Our dog was also taken care of. Thank you.

The Lilienstein and the stop in the associated hut are mandatory. What is done there to offer the guest something is remarkable. Some complainers should question how food and drinks get up there. Everyone is welcome here, including our dog. We say Thanks for everything. Even in the chaos, the landlady keeps track.

After a very strenuous climb to the south we got a nice seat at table 58. Food and drinks very tasty. A nice chat with the landlady, who is very open-minded, funny and friendly. We also got a few tips for the mountain and the descent. Thank you again for that. A really nice place. And hats off to their performance, the two of them also come up on foot. Great girls!!! Super Service!!! We were there with our dog on May 11th, 2024 and although there was a lot of activity and no table was available, the boss provided us with two chairs and a table at the side. Simply great!!! I'm a waitress myself and the warmth and friendliness was outstanding!!! That's exactly how I am!!! You immediately feel comfortable and like you are with friends. And the food was great too!!! So absolutely recommended!!!

The portion of pasta with tomato sauce (without hunting sausage) for €9.10 is an absolute disgrace... no 4 year old will get enough of it. When asked about this, the service reacted arrogantly... you could still order a portion - thanks for nothing!

The unfriendly service ever and that's saying something. It's unbelievable how people like this can work in the service industry. If this were my company, I would send the madame home. If you're open until 5 p.m. and already at 2 p.m. you point out that there's nothing left to eat and when you ask for the menu you turn your back on the guest and disappear without comment, I don't understand why the lady doesn't stay at home and the operator the restaurant closes.

Just one fries isn't an option here.

With humor and a smile we were seated in the rock hut and served SUPER nicely. The food tasted really good. Anyone who has made the climb is in very good hands there!👍🏻

So far I've only ever made a small stop at the rock hut, which is why I honestly can't judge the food. But the service. Jana and her team are warm. Even yesterday, at the hiking event, the team tried to ensure that we got a place despite the hut being full. And so we were able to enjoy the delicious milk coffee and cake.

I go to Saxon Switzerland three to four times a year and the Felsenbaude is always my first port of call. Nice path, great view. The boss is attractive, humorous and always concerned about the well-being of the guests. Beer is cold and coffee is hot 😄 I was told that the food is excellent, and since I'm vegan the only thing left is the pasta with tomato sauce, which is always delicious. Kitchen, toilet, etc. are super clean. I always relax here and can only recommend taking a break here.

We wanted to stop in today and were told: "If you're smart, make a reservation"!!! rudely dismissed by staff. We had previously found out about opening times on the Internet, but we didn't expect that you would have to make a reservation in advance on a mountain in a hiking retreat!!!!! We have never experienced such unfriendly staff, so please take something to drink and eat with you. Even when my 12 year old daughter politely asked if she could use the toilet for a fee, she was told in the most impolite way that it wasn't possible: "We only have one toilet and our guests are already queuing up there"!!! I find it very sad that they don't even let children go to the toilet!!!

Bottom drawer in this store. A mother with a baby is denied access to the toilet in the most unfriendly way, with the argument that she was changing the baby in the cold and rain, even though she wanted to come with 7 people. Even when the economy is full, it should be part of human behavior to be able to care for your child for 5 minutes. We would have been happy to pay for it too.

Haben uns im Schneetreiben auf den Berg gekämpft, Auf dem Berg bekamen wir warme Getränke mit und ohne Alkohol. Sehr freundliche Bedienung in gemütlicher Atmosphäre! Danke, wir kommen gern wieder!

Eine wirklich geniale Gastätte in 415m Höhe. Der Aufstieg lohnt sich! Das Personal ist super sympathisch. Man merkt die familiäre Atmosphäre. Dazu ein super Ausblick und das Essen schmeckt super. Ein großes Lob für den Arbeitsweg und das Engagement alles am Laufen zu halten. Wir waren gestern erst da und kommem definitiv wieder.

Wir haben lange nicht mehr eine so nette Bedienung erlebt. Es passte zu dem leckeren Essen.

Sehr herzlicher Empfang, freundliche Bedienung, leckeres Essen und warme Getränke, genau das richtige nach dem doch beschwerlichen Aufstieg.
