Large Italian restaurant with a large menu. Roast venison, saddle of venison. Dishes with truffles, venison goulash, large selection. Good food in November, no reservation needed.

The restaurant is very nice, and the service is good. The food is rather mediocre. The venison goulash was quite bland. The portion was small, yet the price was high. The dessert was also unremarkable. I wouldn't go there again.

A very nice restaurant, and the food is also good. Unfortunately, the service only gives it 4 stars because one dish was served incorrectly. So that I wouldn't be eating alone, I accepted it anyway, and the owner then offered me a discount. Unfortunately, it was only offered and then forgotten about on the bill.

04/24/25: A lot has changed for the better. The service has improved significantly. The food was good. Unfortunately, Easter Sunday was disappointing. We ordered and were seated quickly. After 5 minutes, a waiter even came and asked if we had already ordered. The menu was very limited. The drinks we ordered arrived quickly. The food was also delivered quickly. The fish had a strong smell. Fresh fish doesn't smell... The turkey was good. The broccoli tasted moldy. After the meal, no staff member was responsible for clearing the table. No one asked if we wanted to order more. Very disorganized. No discernible leadership from the staff. ...

Delicious food, fast service, pleasant atmosphere. My tip: Rump steak with fried potatoes and salad garnish. The steak was truly super tender. Thanks to the chef for preparing it so excellently.

We visited Estragon this weekend and, before we know it, it was a culinary experience! The chef and his wonderful, friendly, and hard-working team treated us to two wonderful evenings. The menu is straightforward (not overloaded with 3,000 pizzas) and offers everything a lover of Italian food could want. All in all, we would like to thank the incredibly wonderful and hard-working chef and his team for a wonderful time and will certainly be returning again. Less than 100 grams of chopped, tasteless salmon in the salmon pasta with a sauce that wasn't particularly good either. The truffle pasta was drenched in oil and tasted bland and boring. The salad dressing was nonexistent. The sun shone mercilessly in my face, with no remedy. It was nothing, value for money at the worst. If I spend 18 euros on salmon pasta and then have to hunt for the salmon, that's a rip-off for me. No love in the food, no refinement. Today I was back at Estragon Bad Ems. At first I just wanted to take a mozzarella, gorgonzola and spinach pizza with me, but I had an open Chianti in a glass at the bar. The boss said: Hey, I'll put the pizza on a plate for you and enjoy the pizza here at the table. This was the beginning of my lovely evening in the Estragon restaurant. After the pizza I ordered a bruschetta and in total I ordered 4 carafes of Chianti. After that I moved on to dessert and ordered the orange tiramisu. Afterwards there was coffee. The staff and the boss were so accommodating and so charming that the take-away pizza turned into a great culinary evening. I recommend everyone to visit this place as it really impresses you. The pizza with lean ham, rocket and fresh parmesan was a poem! Mozzarella and tomato sauce were perfectly balanced. The cappuccino was very good. The salad with a small piece of chicken breast fillet (half) was cut into slices as stated and fried on a soggy green bed of “radiccio”. In short, the salad was not fresh, crunchy and varied. Too little and far too expensive for €17.50. Actually a disgrace. The grilled vegetables with small baked rosemary potatoes weren't a highlight either. Nothing with roasted aromas from the grill here either. Everything was drowned in oil. It's a shame. Conclusion, unfortunately the price/performance ratio here is inadequate.

However, I have to deduct 2 stars for the service, not because the service was slow or inattentive, but because the boss spoke negatively about the previous owner of the restaurant several times at the table and listed the "mistakes". It was completely out of place and detracted from the otherwise good impression of the restaurant.

Rarely have I been greeted and served so kindly and appreciatively in a restaurant. We felt completely comfortable. And then the food came. We snowed in on Sunday afternoon. Almost all tables were occupied - but still managed to get a table in the corner. Food was really tasty and came quickly. Prices are normal and the service was super attentive and prompt. Clear recommendation from us.

It was our anniversary today and we wanted to have a wonderful meal at Tarragon. That worked well too. Unfortunately there was a Christmas party where people couldn't behave and laughed loudly for two hours and ruined half of our evening. Food was good. Service was top. Unfortunately the ambience suffered. I would have been happy if the landlord had said something. Update15.11.24 The owner has now changed, we have remained loyal to Tarragon and his team and have not been disappointed. The restaurant has been tastefully remodeled, it is no longer so cramped, it is brighter and more elegant. The cuisine has changed slightly and has been expanded to include some fish and vegetarian dishes. I find it very positive. Dusko Lazic is a professional in the catering industry and is very accommodating in his friendly manner and makes almost every wish possible. But you also have to open your mouth if you don't like something. We'd love to come back, the New Year's Eve party is already booked.

After the change of ownership, we visited the location today. My conclusion is mixed. The food was very poorly seasoned. The same thing happened to the people at the next table. You're probably sitting quite well at the front, but at the back it's like you're sitting in a sardinia can! The waitresses were completely stressed, which unfortunately showed. We won't go there anymore. You get a lot more for the money elsewhere.

The first impression was very positive and conveyed a structured gastronomy. As the process progressed, the visit became standard. Unfortunately the pizza was burnt from the bottom. There was no complaint, but the burnt bottom was placed on the side and visible on the plate. But it wasn't noticed when it was cleared away. The pizza was very difficult to cut. Lying on the floor, cutlery and plates. Any discrepancies were passed on to the service. When billing the tip, no thanks were given and simply accepted. Tips on EC were also not accepted, preferring to be paid in cash. Unfortunately I wasn't impressed by the restaurant's menu, food and service.

We arrived at the pizzeria at 8:30 p.m. and the waitress asked if we had ordered, to which I said no, I just said we were here spontaneously, then the boss came up to us and said he still had several orders and us couldn't serve him and it won't work today because he supposedly gets off work at 9 p.m., which is a lie because the internet says it ends at 10 p.m. The bad thing is that he was very cold and turned us away, it was clear to us that we will never visit this restaurant again

New operators are unfriendly and even arrogant. Even though it wasn't busy on Sunday, I was told to wait 1 hour. 1 hour later 3 tables were occupied and therefore enough space but the waitress apparently didn't want to work.

We ended up in this fine restaurant on the first evening in Bad Ems and were so satisfied that on the second evening we had no desire to try anything new. We ate wonderful tagliatelle with fresh chanterelles, first of all baby spinach salad with grilled goat cheese, balsamic vinegar, honey and walnuts. Pasta pockets filled with ricotta in truffle butter, even the pizza with gorgonzola and spinach was masterful. We'll be back if we're in the area again. Keep it up!!

Ganz nettes Restaurant mit freundlicher Bedienung. Die Möblierung im Außenbereich könnte mal eine Erneuerung brauchen. Der auf der Speisekarte beschriebene Salat Estragon sollte eigentlich mit Räucherlachs serviert werden, kommt aber dann mit gebratenen Lachsstücken. Kann man mit leben,muss man aber nicht. Die gemischte Vorspeise ist in Ordnung, dass dazu gereicht. Brot allerdings Knochen hart und eigentlich ungenießbar. Tagliata auf Ruccola war absolut in Ordnung. Auch dazu hätte ich mehr ein anderes Weißbrot gewünscht. Alles in allem ein ganz nettes Restaurant mit Luft nach oben.

Pizza und Rotwein mega lecker, Service sehr zuvorkommend. Zum Abschied gab es wahlweise noch einen Amaretto /Grappa. Sehr schade und unverständlich warum dieses tolle Lokal Ende August 2024 schließt.

This traditional Italian restaurant is located on the banks of the Lahn, separated from the street. We were very satisfied with the food and the service. However, the ventilation in the restaurant due to the lack of air conditioning made us sweat. If you like classic Italian dishes, this is the place for you.

We were at Tarragon last Saturday and made reservations in advance. It's certainly advantageous on a Saturday as the restaurant was well filled with guests. Service and ambience were wonderful. Only the cheese plate at the end was a bit uninspired for the price of over €10.00. It's probably just rarely ordered. Pizzas, pasta and tiramisu were very tasty.

It was lovely eating outside great view. The food was good, everybody is freindly there with a smile. We were there on Friday and it was a good start to take in Bad Ems. The service could have been better for us, i dont know if it was because our german wasn't that great. Because we felt they could have checked up on us and asked if everything was okey and if we needed anything else. In our situation they were there with ordering the food and with the bill.
