It was extremely crowded, which made it noticeable that there were very few loungers/rest areas inside, and all of them were occupied. The aisles are too narrow, and there are too few places to put bags and towels. This is definitely not what relaxation looks like. On top of that, the entrance fee is now quite steep, plus the parking garage charge. If we hadn't received a gift voucher, this place wouldn't have been our choice. At least it was clean, and the outdoor area, including the river sauna, somewhat redeems the rating. Otherwise, it would have only gotten one star.

Architectural delight. Good water temperature. Very nice pools, great view. The price for reserving loungers is outrageous. Four loungers for a family is quite expensive on top of the entrance fee.

Today I noticed something: near the women's showers, there's a window strip along the wall facing the changing area, where two round cameras are mounted on the ceiling. They could potentially record you completely through the glass while you're showering, or at least one of the two shower rows (if they're recording in 360°). WHAT?! Even if the shower area is excluded from the recording (who really knows for sure?), it's not a pleasant feeling to be standing there naked and see two cameras on the ceiling. Otherwise, I've visited the thermal baths many times and find them quite alright; I avoid them on weekends (because they're too crowded and noisy). Something I've noticed in the past is the passivity of the lifeguards regarding various things (unruly couples, rowdy children, etc.). There wasn't any particular incident today, so I can't say whether things have improved.

We were a group of two, and each of us spent two hours there on three days. We bought a €100 discount card for the baths and paid an additional €1.50. You can buy the card for several people; it's also available for the sauna and thermal baths. There's also a €200 card available, and you can get advice on which card is best for you. The credit balance is not refundable. The thermal baths are good, but like others. I read somewhere that there are slides, but there aren't any.

We had a lovely time here! The different pools all had something different to offer with varying temperatures and minerals. We took advantage at staying to the hotel that was connected to the Therme. It was so nice to be able to walk over without going outside. We visited during the week. Like most places, the mornings and late evenings was less crowded. My husband could swim some laps in the morning while I soaked up the heat in the 36-38 degree pool. We had one meal at the restaurant and was surprised at how good and fresh the meal was. The table next to us had the Waffles with fresh cream (and it smelled so good!). The saunas were all good. If I had to deduct a point, it would be because there was no very warm water pool in the sauna area. There is a nice pool in the sauna area, but it was a little too cool for me at this time of the year. The Panorama and Klang Saunas were over the river and were very nice. I wish I had better eyesight and could have seen all of the views. It was well worth the money!! I would definitely love to come again!!

Not a large thermal spa, but with everything you need. We were there on a Friday. Shortly after opening, it was pleasant, but unfortunately, that changed later. Then it became quite noisy, and there were a lot of children in the large indoor pool. Next time, we'll definitely go on a Sunday afternoon to really relax. The thermal water shower, hot and cold plunge pools, steam room, and the baskets for bathing items were great. The sauna area was pleasantly quiet. Unpleasant: cell phones in the bathing and sauna areas and gawkers. Positive: The consistently very friendly staff, especially at the ticket counter and in the sauna restaurant.

We've been visiting the thermal baths for years, first without our child, and now for about a year with ours. The baths themselves are a beautiful place—well-maintained, modern, and cozy. They are a bit more expensive than other thermal baths, but we've always gladly treated ourselves to a little getaway. Unfortunately, I have to say that this was probably our last visit to the Bad Ems thermal baths, which we're very sad about. The baths have never been very family-friendly; there have always been glances and comments here and there that subtly suggested we weren't welcome. Today, however, I can only describe the behavior of the other guests as truly hostile to children. Our daughter is 14 months old and, apart from a brief two-minute cry, didn't make a sound. And yet, we were met only with head-shaking and truly malicious stares. I myself am a geriatric physiotherapist, so I have a great deal of understanding and sympathy for elderly people... but the visitors there genuinely believe that this facility belongs to them and that they have the right to preferential treatment. Unfortunately, we also discovered today that the owners of the spa seem to share these views. We are going home today with a very bad and disappointed feeling. A real shame!

The Emser Therme is actually very nicely laid out, with a pool and sauna. However, the price, including parking fees, is outrageous. There's often no staff in the sauna, meaning no service at the counter, and the sauna infusions are poor and often have no scent at all. Unfortunately, they've missed the boat compared to the surrounding spas in Koblenz and Neuwied, which are significantly cheaper overall.

Wasted potential – that's the best way to describe this thermal spa. Positive: - The spa is clean. - The staff is friendly and competent. - There are a sufficient number of saunas, and they are a good size. Negative: - The layout of the thermal pools is not conducive to relaxation. - The areas with massage jets feel uncomfortable. - The pools are unsuitable for swimming – too short and usually overcrowded. - The sauna area is architecturally disappointing: You are first led into a functional storage area, then through a dark, supposedly relaxingly lit corridor that reveals an overcrowded sauna area. The storage options for personal belongings are cluttered and uninviting. - Many loungers are located in hallways and passageways that are more reminiscent of a train station or an emergency room. Only a small number of loungers are located in a separate relaxation area. - There is no map for first-time visitors. - The sauna schedule is not very helpful: it only lists the time and sauna location, but lacks information about the sauna's location and temperature. - The thermal baths are actually situated in a beautiful valley. Terms like "panoramic sauna" and the large window facades promise a visual treat – but unfortunately, the architecture directs the view into nothingness or onto unspectacular surfaces. A real oversight. - The entrance fee of €39 for a day ticket is quite high. Furthermore, there are no free water dispensers – water has to be purchased. This is simply outrageous. Neutral: - The paths within the complex are sometimes very long. This might not be a problem in summer, but it's less pleasant in autumn. Conclusion: Anyone who values atmosphere, clear layout, and well-thought-out design will likely be disappointed here. It's a shame – with a little more attention to detail, this thermal bath could be truly magnificent.

Where do I even begin… The concept of a thermal spa is all about rest and relaxation. The Emser Therme even advertises itself as a place where you can become a "new person in 2 hours." What can you really expect? Screaming children jumping off the edge of the pool, running around aimlessly without any parental supervision. And if you say anything about it, you're immediately insulted. If you want a fun and adventure pool, you shouldn't be allowed to go to a thermal spa. Restricting entry to those 16 and older just one day a week after 3 p.m. is outrageous. It should be like that every day. There are people who drive hundreds of kilometers and then have to drive back even more stressed than before. And when I read reviews from parents complaining that children are unwelcome FOR 7 hours ON ONE DAY, I'd like to know if people without children aren't employed?! I've been visiting the Emser Therme since it opened, but as of today, that's it.

We used to enjoy visiting the Emser Therme, but the new rule that children under 16 are no longer allowed entry on Sundays after 3:00 PM is completely incomprehensible to us—especially considering that many families only have time to visit on that day. Of course, it's understandable that children aren't allowed in the sauna area and that rules must be followed. But completely excluding all families is not a reasonable solution. Even more astonishing is that obvious violations of the quiet rules or very loud groups are apparently ignored by the staff. You usually only see employees behind a glass door—instead of actively intervening. Why aren't disruptive guests given a friendly and direct warning? That would be the obvious course of action, instead of punishing families.

All in all, we enjoyed our stay. It was very crowded, a Sunday afternoon, and the autumn weather was rather unpleasant – which was to be expected. The bathing area didn't really impress me; I thought the pools would be a bit warmer. The rain shower was my absolute favorite part. The river sauna is fantastic, as is the entire outdoor area – absolutely beautiful with a view of the Lahn River. I found the indoor sauna area quite dark and a bit cramped. I really appreciate the option to reserve loungers. All the staff are very friendly, and there are plenty of loungers and storage compartments. It's clean, with lots of lockers, showers, and toilets. Delicious cake in the sauna! 😉

I am very disappointed with the Bad Ems swimming pool. I find it completely incomprehensible that children and teenagers under 16 are no longer allowed on Sundays after 3 p.m. While I understand the desire to create a relaxed atmosphere in the sauna and relaxation areas, I cannot understand why this restriction also applies to the regular swimming area. I find this rule discriminatory – especially on weekends when families finally have time to do something together. We both work and have enough stress during the week. Until now, the swimming pool was a wonderful place where we, as a family, could fulfill several needs at once and find some peace and quiet. This new rule completely eliminates that possibility for us. I really wonder where we've ended up if something like this becomes the norm. This clearly makes the pool less appealing to me. I sincerely hope this decision will be reconsidered.

I find it neither modern nor customer-friendly to have to wait in line outside. With today's technology, I can't understand why there isn't an online reservation system. The advertising claiming you'll be a new person after two hours is also completely unnecessary, considering the wait beforehand. The parking lot is very well signposted, including the indication that spaces are available. But when you drive in, there are no spaces left. All in all, unfavorable conditions if you want to start your day there in a relaxed manner. What a shame...

We were a bit disappointed with our visit this evening. Unfortunately, it felt too cold for a thermal spa. Other guests also complained about this. Both the water and room temperatures were quite chilly. It's a shame, because we couldn't get that cozy, warm, and relaxing feeling we'd hoped for. At €42 for two people for two hours, it's a visit we probably won't repeat. We've actually been to the spa quite often and enjoyed it...

Unfortunately, the prices have been increased again by €2. During our visit today, I sadly noticed that the water was SIGNIFICANTLY colder than before. So cold, in fact, that you shivered in the water. This was clearly evident in the other guests, who even complained to the staff. To make matters worse, people were behaving inappropriately everywhere. Making out until their hands were practically in their pants, jumping into the pool with a running start, etc. The level of inconsiderateness was unparalleled. Relaxation = 0.

I was last there 10 years ago and I'm pleasantly surprised by the changes since then. We mainly used the sauna area. They have a great selection of saunas. The sauna infusions are also fantastic. A particular highlight is the river sauna, which is right on the Lahn River. The relaxation areas upstairs are very comfortable. There's also a lounge with a fireplace. We ate in the restaurant, which was also excellent. I'm deducting one star for the price. We paid €70(!) for a 4-hour stay on a Saturday evening. We only wanted to use the sauna area, but there's no separate ticket for that. You have to pay for the thermal baths and then book sauna access separately. On top of that, there was an additional parking fee of €6. So, with admission, food, drinks, and parking, we ended up spending almost €150...

Finally, a spa that caters to everyone! Families have plenty of time to enjoy themselves together on Saturdays and Sundays until 3 pm, and after that, adults can finally relax in peace. Frankly, I think the negative comments are exaggerated: those who choose to bring children should also accept that others are consciously seeking peace and quiet. Fantastic concept – please keep it up! 🙏

We've been coming here for many years and enjoy our time at the thermal baths. It's become a family ritual to find respite from everyday life and simply unwind. The pool temperatures are perfect for little babies. Combined with the playful lights, it's a wonderful sensory experience that our child truly enjoys. Unfortunately, this is no longer possible with the "Relax Sunday" offer. We understand that you're thinking of everyone who works all week and wants to relax. But you've forgotten that parents also work. Sunday is the only day we can relax as a family because we work six days a week. We feel like families aren't welcome here, especially since there's only one changing room with a changing table. This means you have to factor in extra time in advance for waiting for that changing room, not just before swimming, but also after. We hope you'll find a different solution. Your spa is open until midnight, but most families leave around 6:00 PM. Aren't the last six hours enough for adults to relax? You also offer an after-work rate during the week. Isn't that enough either? We know many people have complained that it's too noisy because some children are playing loudly. However, you should take a good look at yourselves. If you don't train your staff on your own rules, you've failed in a completely different way. Why do you have to spoil the time for parents who want to quietly enjoy the relaxing atmosphere with their children? When we were there, we saw a few families with very young children. The children, just like ours, quietly enjoyed themselves. Not a single one cried or was loud in any way. Besides, how can it be that a one-year-old costs around €30?! This outrageous charge is added to the curfew. ' ... I didn't really want to think about it anymore because we'd fallen in love with the thermal baths. But right now, we can only echo what the previous speaker said and hope that the Tauris finds an investor. In short: That's it for our family ritual.

I'm only reviewing the Sunday/child-free solution here. It's a good idea, since unfortunately too many children no longer receive proper upbringing, and their parents just want to have a nice day and let the children run wild. As always in life, the good ones suffer as a result. It's a shame, though, that it has to come to this and that the problem isn't addressed proactively. Children are our future, but only as empathetic individuals with good social skills. Perhaps a fixed half-hour should be introduced where they can jump and make as much noise as they like. Music on, let the fun begin! After that, though, it's quiet.

I was advertised with a sauna night. When we arrived, there was a little cake set out, but nothing else. There wasn't a single quiet area in the sauna. It was standard practice to use cell phones in the relaxation area. At the same time, it felt like an unspoken sex club, judging by the couples who were leering at us. I definitely DO NOT recommend this sauna! The staff is unprofessional, the guests who seem to be regulars are disgusting and don't follow sauna etiquette, and the food service is very poor compared to other saunas.

Since I live nearby, I've been a regular visitor to the Emser Therme since it opened, often several times a month in autumn and winter. I'm usually there in the morning, as I was today. Up until now, I've always been very satisfied, enjoying swimming laps in the sports pool and then relaxing in the sauna area. However, today I noticed two things that I really don't like and sincerely hope will be changed! Firstly, there isn't a single electrical outlet left, and you can't use your own hairdryer. I have curly hair and unfortunately, standard hairdryers are useless if I don't want to look like a burst sofa cushion. So, I left the thermal baths with a towel turban on my head and had to dry my hair at home. Secondly, I was disappointed to find that it's now nearly impossible to find a free lounger to relax in the relaxation room of the sauna area on the gallery. Because: almost the entire first row by the window now consists of numbered loungers that can be reserved online for €4 (4 hours) or €11 (full day). As a result, these loungers were completely free, while all the other "free" loungers were occupied, and I unfortunately couldn't lie down. So I went back downstairs and sat in one of the armchairs in front of the fireplace, but unfortunately, I couldn't take a nap. All in all, after today's visit, I have to say that these two "improvements" have significantly diminished my comfort and satisfaction! I spent over €40 today at the thermal baths for 3 hours, including a drink and parking, and it's absolutely unacceptable that someone with curly hair can't use a hairdryer and that there are free loungers that you can't use because you have to reserve them online and pay extra. Dear spa team: Please reconsider this, because you're driving away your regular guests!

You pay over €20 for 3 hours of swimming, then you enter the changing rooms, a foul, stinking smell greets you, you wander around and can't find an empty locker – apparently there are more swimmers than there are spaces! After waiting a long time and deliberately following another swimmer, you wait until they hand over the locker. Into the showers, most people run straight into the swimming area without showering 🤮 and into the pool – unbelievable! You're greeted by screaming children running around haphazardly; sometimes one falls, but nobody seems to care. Several areas are closed for some reason, but not a word or a discount at the checkout! In the pool, people are splashing and screaming, older people roll their eyes or leave the pool. Meanwhile, in the lifeguard room, there are lively conversations with disinterested indifference. Other pools are reserved for gymnastics, and you can't use them either. This is exactly how I imagine a spa for relaxation. Conclusion: All in all, for my full admission price, I could only use a third of the spa and left more stressed and poorer than when I arrived! Relaxation was the goal!

It was relaxing...that was a long time ago...In two summers, no, new person?...yes, a stressed one after that! We'll empty our bonus card...then it's over. Where exactly is the note on the website that says you can only use the loungers while you're lying on them? As soon as you get into the water or the steam sauna, you're supposed to clear everything away? And then stand there when you get out again because it's so crowded everywhere. Now you're supposed to book a time slot in advance for a fee to reserve a lounger. But the time slots are so odd that you might need two. And you can't reserve anything on site. I've never seen anything like it anywhere. Who's thinking that? And can you even reserve a bubble jet? They're all constantly besieged. The pools are so full that the only option if you want to relieve tension in that water temperature is to take a dip in the cold outdoor pool. At 70 percent capacity, you can't really use anything anymore. The changing rooms are sometimes poorly lit (energy-saving measure?) and already so cramped. Hairdryers aren't all there either. Should you go out with wet hair? Annoyed instead of relaxed, we left this tense place for the second-to-last time. Hopefully, the Tauris in Mülheim-Kärlich will find an investor. It was always relaxed there.

We have enjoyed visiting the thermal baths in Bad Ems for years. For us, it was a permanent family spot where we spent time together. Our children loved it every time. With the new decision to only allow adults on Sundays, this has changed completely. The justification of "allowing working adults to relax" completely ignores the fact that there are also working parents who have time on Sundays to do something fun with their children. These guests are now simply excluded. We traveled an hour especially today – only to be turned away at the door. The result: crying children and a disappointed couple on the way home. That was beyond frustrating for us. It felt as if families were simply no longer welcome. Under these circumstances, we won't be coming back. It's a shame how loyal regulars can be lost so carelessly.

The reason: working adults should be able to relax in peace. Honestly, this is a rather short-sighted and arrogant decision. There are also working parents who have time to do something fun with their children on Sundays. These guests have obviously been completely forgotten—or the thermal baths simply don't care about them. The result: families like us are excluded. Our children were disappointed, and we, as long-time guests, feel insulted. Under these conditions, we will definitely not visit the thermal baths again. But today, from 3 p.m., well-attended and without children, it was totally quiet and relaxed. Unfortunately, most of the children can't behave properly, screaming, jumping off the edge of the pool, etc. So, I really commend this decision, because now a spa stay is what it should be again: relaxing and what you actually expect. My adult daughter and I were at the thermal baths today (on a Monday). So far, we've always been satisfied with our stay there, as it's always been a place to relax and unwind. Today, however, the relaxation quickly came to an end, as a certain pool attendant was too busy distributing notes on the loungers with instructions not to block loungers. As soon as you left your lounger to go into the various pools, the staff member distributed the notes. I fully understand that you shouldn't block a lounger for hours with your bathing bag if you're not using it or are just in the sauna. But it's unacceptable that as soon as the bathers enter the water, the towels are cleared away after 10 minutes! I think that's an absolute disgrace! Above all, out of about 20-30 loungers, you could only see ours, where no one was sitting! When I asked him about it, he replied cheekily that he would clear it away from everyone. Other bathers also found this man very unpleasant. In my opinion, lifeguards should be more concerned with keeping an eye on the water at the various pools, instead of just watching the loungers and guests from their glass-walled offices to see when they get off them! After all, they charge a hefty entrance fee, and of course, you want a lounger to relax on. There are plenty of loungers on the first floor that you can reserve online, and they also have signs asking you to keep these spaces free. I think that's fine, too. There are enough loungers downstairs that you can freely use. On a day when it's not too crowded, you can't clear the loungers after 10 minutes! That's an absolute no-go, and I'll think twice about going through this again. Relaxation was ruined today thanks to the discussion!!!

I visited the thermal baths for the first time yesterday. I went specifically for Relax Sunday because children aren't allowed in after 3 p.m. I have to say, I've never felt as relaxed in a thermal bath as I did yesterday. It wasn't as crowded as I expected; it was quiet, no shouting; people behaved well and were considerate. The food was also top-notch. I'll definitely be back, as long as the Relax Sunday rules are in place. Other thermal baths should implement this rule, because yesterday was REALLY relaxing.

Dear spa team, We are very happy about the introduction of Relaxation Sundays. We, too, had stopped visiting the spa on Sundays at some point because of the noise. This no longer had anything to do with a spa and the associated notion of relaxation. Today was the first time we have come back on a Sunday after reading about Relaxation Sundays in the Westerwälder Zeitung. And we are thrilled by the peace and quiet that has returned. It's fun to come here on a Sunday again! We will spread the word to our family and friends!

Very nice thermal spa. However, you shouldn't necessarily go there on a Sunday afternoon. There is actually one complaint. I was there four weeks ago and ordered a portion of sausages with potatoes, peas, and carrots. At that time, I got a decent portion. Today I went there again with my wife and we ordered the same thing again. However, this time there were what felt like 3 potatoes, 2 peas, and 1 carrot on the plate. And the peas were even burnt. I don't like the fact that there are such big differences in the portions. Sometimes it's like this, sometimes it's like that.

The child-free Sunday should be reconsidered. We couldn't get in. Families usually have time for such activities on the weekend. Besides, the thermal baths are open until midnight, and the child-free time should be automatic. The children are quite big on the admission price, because an eleven-year-old pays the adult price. We won't be coming again for a while. 5 customers lost.

Families with children are not welcome on Sundays after 3 p.m. This new company policy is then sold as a relaxing Sunday... we find this new development antisocial and hostile to families. Okay, thank you very much... we have been loyal visitors to the Emser Therme for years. Our loyalty is now over.

Families are simply NOT welcome here. Even if the spa (still) pretends it's that way, excluding them on Sunday afternoons is certainly just the beginning. In today's society, where diversity and mutual respect should be essential, such a decision. I find it truly pathetic. I'm here often, without children. But the problem isn't the families themselves, but the few families who don't follow the rules. The problem is solely the lack of consistency on the part of the staff! Anyone who doesn't follow certain house rules has to leave. If this is consistently implemented, a "Relaxed Sunday" isn't necessary at all. But you obviously don't want that! Maybe the spa should reconsider. Oh yeah: Forget about your "It's only 7% of the week"... it's not about quantity, but about the thing itself. If you're really as "family-friendly" as you claim to be, then at least rescind this rule during the holidays... that would be a sign of goodwill toward families.

I was in the sauna a few days ago and happened to see the poster advertising "Relax Sundays." On Sundays, after 3 p.m., no one under 16 is allowed in so that working people can relax. According to the staff, this was due to bad reviews criticizing the noise of the children. The core argument: the spa is a place of relaxation. Since reviews are apparently important, I'll leave one here and offer some more arguments: 1. Excluding entire groups of people is discriminatory. For example, we can arbitrarily replace the word "children" with other groups of people. For example, on Sundays after 3 p.m., no seniors are allowed in. Or overweight people. Or people with disabilities. Or unemployed people (after all, according to the advertising, this is for busy working people). Or or or. It quickly becomes clear how incredibly discriminatory this is! Why do some people think you can do this to children? There's a word for this form of discrimination: adultism. 2. What about working parents who want to relax and can't/don't want to have their children cared for anywhere else? 3. If the spa operator is afraid of financial losses due to the absence of complaining visitors, children pay full price anyway. And the criticism was, among other things, that it's too crowded. So there are no financial losses. 4. I was told that the regulation was a compromise. Other spas wouldn't allow children in at all. That's a very strange argument. I can't justify discrimination by saying "others make it worse." If someone comes around with "there were women's nights in the sauna once," all I can say is: a vulnerable group of people (women) should be protected from actual assaults and have a safe space. I'll leave the discussion of who is male and who is female aside for now. Here, however, children are the group with significantly less power and influence, and therefore deserve protection. Perhaps this can be considered in future decisions.

So I was there on Friday September 19th 2025 and wanted to relax, which worked out quite well apart from a few inconveniences. The sauna area is very nicely done, it is clean and comfortable, the alternation between the cold and warm pools is also wonderful! The steam sauna is the same. What bothered me a lot, though, which is why I'm only giving it 3 stars, are some of the employees. It started at the front in the store where you can buy swimming equipment. I don't think the employee really understood general politeness. She neither said hello nor offered to help while I was looking. Only when I pulled out my gold card did she become friendly as if by magic, which is a shame and gives you the feeling that you're only worth something if you have money. The man at the front at the cash register was an absolute disaster. Unfriendly, didn't even say hello, and you had the feeling you were being threatened. He also tried to embarrass me. I have no idea why he did it. But in my opinion, the employees in a store like this are a very important part of the experience and also contribute to leaving the establishment feeling refreshed. These are aspects that I unfortunately don't like at all, which is why I'm only giving it 3 stars.

Peace and quiet – relax at the Emser Therme on Sundays from 3:00 p.m. It's finally here: the "child-free Sunday afternoon swimming ban" at the Emser Therme. From 3:00 p.m., everyone under 16 is out of the thermal baths, without discussion. Because all our fellow citizens without children who need to relax have a right to absolute relaxation, far from "noisy, noisy children" and from soaked swim diapers diving in the 36-degree pool. From mothers with glazed eyes and behind their hands whispering, "Stop it already!" while their children jump from the edge, splash around, and have fun, but that's over now! No more children's laughter to be heard in the future. A dream for all those couples who have never fallen into the "child trap," and finally, a well-deserved triumph over large families who think their horde is a gift to society. And if a brat does linger in the sanctuary after 3:00 PM, they'll be immediately deported to the nearest playground, without appeal, without mercy—what a shame. Children have no lobby.

Unfortunately, the Emser Therme doesn't have much in common with a thermal spa; it's more like an indoor pool with additional hot and cold pools. The floor and the toilets were dirty, and it smelled strongly of urine. Unfortunately, this has nothing to do with relaxation. It's better to spend a few euros more and go to Euskirchen, where relaxation is guaranteed.

Updated review: The management has made a poor impression with the new regulations. Discriminating against children by saying they're "loud" and thus banning them is impossible. I'm much more bothered by older people talking loudly than by happy children... But this is all about money... unfortunately. For us as regular customers, the spa has definitely lost its appeal. The only people who have gained are the older people, who also get upset about breastfeeding mothers in the pool, unless they hide in the lounge upstairs. ...a creepy twist.

First of all: A visit to the thermal baths, and especially the sauna area, is definitely worth it! As a traveler, I was considering a visit to the Emser Therme and, after reading several negative reviews, briefly had second thoughts. After the visit, it became clear that you shouldn't pay too much attention to other people's opinions and should always form your own opinion (and many of the negative reviews are more likely due to the fact that the thermal baths have allowed themselves a quiet Sunday, when small children aren't allowed in, and angry mothers get upset about it. In fact, you really shouldn't open this can of worms when everyone is allowed in 6 out of 7 days). Planned upon entry as a 3-hour stay, it ended up being a 6-hour visit, which shows that the visit was absolutely fantastic. So, to all the "doubters": Go in, because you'll have a wonderful experience at a reasonable price ;)

Yesterday I had another wonderful evening at the thermal baths🥰 This is an incredible place of power! I always get a huge energy boost here! However, my visit was marred by an unfortunate incident.😞 I left my glasses on the shelf at the entrance to the sauna as usual. When I came out, they weren't there. Okay, I thought, the person who took them will probably soon realize they weren't their glasses and have to take theirs. But! The person who accidentally took my glasses was most likely dishonest. After a while, I decided to check if my glasses had been returned. No, unfortunately, no miracle happened. The owner came back, took his glasses, and decided to keep mine as well. Of course, it's not the fault of the staff or the thermal baths. They do their job well. However, it's very sad to see such dishonest people appear. These weren't ordinary glasses! They were very important to me! It's a pity that some people don't understand the well-known truth that someone else's sorrow does not bring happiness!

I always enjoy visiting the wonderful thermal spa in Bad Ems. I prefer staying overnight for several days at the adjacent thermal spa hotel, where, in addition to the attentive staff, delicious food, and beautiful rooms, I especially appreciate the "bathrobe corridor" that directly connects to the thermal spa. Now to my criticism of the thermal spa: The behavior of the staff here – with the exception of the catering staff and the sauna masters during infusions – is unfortunately characterized by a lack of interest: Frequently, despite the ban on use, people happily take photos and communicate with their smartphones. I've experienced in other saunas that guests have been forced to leave the thermal spa without mercy in such cases. It also regularly happens that guests sit on the wooden floor without a towel. Yuck!!! When I asked a guest about it, he simply said he'd lost his towel... Shortly after he left the sauna, another guest sat down on that spot, which was still visibly wet. No one should be surprised if the sauna becomes a breeding ground for germs. It would be great if the staff were a little more attentive. I've already expressed my criticism several times to the reception of the thermal hotel, who tried to pass it on. Unfortunately, there have been no improvements.

This thermal spa was once stylish, modern, and, to top it all, had a good restaurant. It still is today, but it's no longer what a thermal spa should primarily be: cozy, relaxing. Ever since the hotel opened, it's been packed. Packed. Exhausting. Always. Even in the mornings, you sit like chickens on a perch during the infusions; in the evenings, and especially on weekends, even between infusions, there's not a single seat in the saunas that's unoccupied; lying down is an illusion. At Halberts Restaurant, you can't order anything half the time because there aren't enough seats. Now, on top of that, children are locked out on Sundays from 3 p.m., making a cozy family afternoon impossible. And bye-bye!

Very nice spa, modern, very clean, but three points deducted for the very young lady with dark brown curls in the reception/checkout area who interrupted me mid-speech both as I was entering and leaving this afternoon, with raised eyebrows and rolling eyes, without even listening carefully to what I was saying. Some training in customer service would be appropriate instead of scaring customers away.

This is unacceptable! Why does a public swimming pool like Emser Therme have a rule prohibiting children after 3pm? This is an extremely unfair and unreasonable decision. Families who bring their children to swim to relax together are kicked out just because the children's time is up. Swimming pools are designed to serve all ages, not just adults who want to be quiet. If they want to be quiet, they can open a separate area, not take away the rights of children like this! This policy is not only annoying but also tarnishes the image of the service area. I am extremely disappointed and will not come back again. A place that calls itself a "therme" for relaxation, but discriminates against children, is truly shameful. We came here with the expectation of being able to relax with our family, but this rule completely ruined the trip. I hope the management will reconsider this unreasonable policy.

I don't understand why so many people criticize the fact that children aren't allowed in on Sundays after 3 p.m. I have two small children myself and work as a primary school teacher. I think children are great. But I think that parents, in particular, sometimes need a break from everything. Who hasn't seen the stressed-out parents at the swimming pool? Fortunately, we have the option of occasionally leaving our children with their grandmother for three hours. We then use the spa to recharge our batteries for the week and our very demanding daily lives. To be alone. I'm very grateful that this service exists. It has nothing to do with being hostile to children; it also meets other customer needs for half a day a week. After all, we all have to work on weekdays; Sunday afternoon is the perfect time to take some time for yourself.

Incredibly unfriendly to families: Children are no longer allowed after 3 p.m. on Sundays – as if they were a burden. I've never found children here to be too loud. And if it does happen, the staff should intervene – just as they do with adults. Adults, in particular, often cause disturbances: loud talking in the saline inhalation area, teenagers 16 and older hanging around one another, behaving like they're in a private pool. But children are categorically rejected. It's simply disgusting and disgraceful.

We were greeted warmly; we had a reservation for three people. Our request for a window seat was granted. The restaurant was festively decorated and cozy. That was the good news! Unfortunately, the evening didn't improve: The order was taken relatively quickly (15-minute wait). However, we waited a very long time for the food. The appetizer took 20 minutes, and then another 15 minutes for the main course. Our son was quite hungry. First, our orders arrived, each for a burger, with the explanation that our son's meal would only take another two minutes. I personally find it unacceptable when family members receive their food at different times and others have to wait. Then, after five minutes, our son's currywurst arrived. He was able to eat it immediately because it was only lukewarm. That's unacceptable. The main course arrived later and wasn't even hot. The fries on all the plates were so overly crispy that you'd think they'd been fried three times. The sausage was completely cold after just a few minutes. The burgers we ordered were dripping with sauce, and the burger patty was burnt on the bottom. Because of all the sauce, you couldn't taste it right away, but it was so tough it was almost impossible to chew. I didn't finish it. After the meal, I spent 15 minutes trying to get the attention of one of the four servers. No one came to us on their own or asked if we needed anything else. I waved with my arm out, but no one saw that either. So I went to the counter to ask for the bill. The servers were outside smoking, which meant it took at least another 10 minutes. The server who brought us the bill asked if everything had been alright. We expressed our concerns about sharing the food and the fact that it was lukewarm and burnt. He said he would pass it on to the kitchen and offered us a complimentary coffee. As we don't drink coffee, we declined. Besides, after the long wait, we just wanted to go home. The service was very inattentive; the staff were friendly, but not present. At €70 for two burgers, one currywurst, three drinks, and one bottle of water, the food was definitely not good enough. We were very disappointed and cannot recommend this restaurant for a proper meal. The view of the Lahn River is great! But that shouldn't be the only good reason to visit a restaurant.
