Emser Therme in Bad Ems

One star deducted for the staff at the sauna counter. I was almost poisoned with 5 pieces of ginger in my juice, I felt like I could breathe fire. The next star is lost because of the curfew despite the day ticket. Forcing customers to spend the whole day in the overpriced and poor quality bistro at such a high price is not something everyone can afford. Absolutely poor value for money, not for low earners. Another star is lost because of the overcrowding. You really have to be a vulture to use all the attractions.

Absolutely not recommended at the weekend, the thermal baths are flooded without consideration, like a subway during rush hour. If you plan to spend an hour looking for a free locker, you can relax here, everyone else is rather out of place... It's a shame, otherwise a beautifully designed thermal bath.

Thermal bath??? Well, we've experienced better ones. Kudos to the photographer on your site! But it's not as big as it looks in the pictures! Had breakfast in the restaurant, which was a bargain at almost €10. The same breakfast twice but only one portion of jam! Rolls were baked - when you put the knife in they completely crumbled - shame on you!!! But the star goes to cleanliness - everything was fine. Otherwise it's no longer worth the trip to us!

The Emser Therme is really a wonderful place to relax. The modern architecture, the warm pools with a view of the Lahn and the diverse sauna landscape offer a great wellness experience. Unfortunately the prices are very high. A day stay can quickly become expensive for a family, and many extras cost extra. The restaurants aren't exactly cheap either. It's a shame that relaxation is almost a luxury here - a somewhat fairer price-performance ratio would be desirable. Anyone who can afford the visit will certainly not be disappointed, but unfortunately the thermal baths are not a regular pleasure for average earners or families.

After a few visits to the Emser Therme, I would like to take the time today for an extensive review. Basically we like coming and all in all it is a beautiful thermal spa with a great location and a view of the Lahn 😇 - The adjacent parking garage is very cheap with a daily fee of five euros - depending on the day of the week and time, the number of guests is absolutely fine. There are enough lockers available. - There is a great selection of saunas and swimming pools. Here everyone should find exactly what they need for their personal wellness experience: Saunas at different temperatures between 55° and 90°, salt inhalation and steam bath. Different infusions take place in the garden sauna at regular intervals. The swimming area offers enormous variety, from the 25 m sports pool to the thermal outdoor pool (with massage jets) to the 38° and 18° pools for alternating baths as well as other relaxation pools and rain showers. I can't say anything about the beauty and massage lounge because I've never been there before. - The entry price for the entire day of €36 seems to be quite common for the use of the swimming pool and sauna. This makes hourly rates unnecessary because they simply don’t pay off. - It would be nice if the daily use of the fitness equipment was also visible on the price list (we asked about this in advance) - the € 4 extra for this is more than acceptable 💪🏼 Information in advance that the e-gym equipment cannot/may not be used would have been great. The enthusiasm of the employees in the gym also left a lot to be desired. They were friendly, but seemed very unmotivated. - On the whole, the staff in the complex are very nice and polite, but a smile would certainly look good on one or two of the employees 😊 - Although attention is paid to hygiene, the toilets should be checked a little more often. A toilet seat at the sauna entrance was dirty for several hours, while a bad smell of urine was noticeable in the women's toilets at the swimming area - that shouldn't be the case. - What I've noticed several times is the smell in the entrance area when you return from the outdoor saunas. It is sometimes more, sometimes less present and not really pleasant. - Overall, I would like the other guests to be a little more attentive. Maybe I'm a little old school, but it's certainly not too much to ask to tie long hair into a braid. And what's with this constant reserving of loungers? We were there almost the whole day and a number of berths were covered with towels without us ever really seeing a visitor on them for a long period of time. Loud conversations in relaxation areas and inside the sauna are also simply no-gos 🤫 Come on, guys, you can all read or at least interpret the pictograms correctly 🙏🏼 These are factors that the staff cannot control, but it is their responsibility to make guests aware of certain things and to ensure that rules are followed. - Finally, I would like to add that the snacks and food, the cakes and tarts as well as the juices and shakes are really delicious 😋 Only the prices for them are sometimes incomprehensible. The ratio to the quantity is simply not right. Small suggestion for an internal discussion: How about setting up a small discount for day guests and hotel guests? For example €1 discount on any drinks or food? In total, the guest might even treat themselves to one or two more drinks/snacks (I would have immediately gotten a second piece of cake and another juice 🤣) and the daily turnover would still be guaranteed. As I said, we'll definitely be back (a voucher is still waiting to be redeemed). However, after my next visit I would like to be able to give it one or two more stars 🙏🏼

Barbaric smell (of feces) in the changing area. It doesn't work at all. I would have preferred to go straight back. Not very family friendly. On Sundays there are many young families with children who don't really know where to go. Warm pools are almost constantly under siege as children's pools.

The Emser Therme is a great place to relax! The sauna area with a view of the Lahn and the warm pools in the thermal spa area ensure a pleasant break. Everything is clean and well maintained, the staff is friendly. The only small negative point: it can get quite crowded at peak times, which reduces the relaxation somewhat. Still a nice wellness place that I would like to visit again

Other thermal springs can easily keep up. One visit in a lifetime is enough there.

Actually a really nice thermal bath! If it didn't have an atmosphere like a fun pool. Absolutely terrible in the thermal spa area. Quite crowded and lots of children. It wasn't even possible to relax in the relaxation area. There were children raging loudly. The staff cleared out the loungers in the lower area from time to time, but upstairs the people spread out and “reserved” everything, and a few unpleasant visitors to the bathroom were the icing on the cake. The day ticket is also very expensive. Too bad.

A nice experience on Valentine's Day. There are different pools so you always have variety. The bubble baths are especially great. Gladly again. The loungers are also comfortable to relax on. My girlfriend would only have liked a milk alternative in the in-house restaurant or at least lactose-free milk to enjoy a coffee. The price is reasonable for what you get. That's why 4.3 stars 🤩

A few years ago it was really a place of relaxation. You now stand in line for an hour in front of the thermal baths and have to wait to get in because the occupancy rate is constantly 100% on the weekend. For me personally, there are far too many children for a thermal spa, so for me Bad Ems is now just an upscale but outdated indoor swimming pool, as there is hardly any relaxation here anymore. Way too crowded in winter. After a massage, we were disturbed while changing after the final relaxation. We had to hurry up because the room was needed again. During the cozy meal that followed, I was incredibly cold because the doors were constantly open because the queue was so long by the evening that the sliding doors no longer closed. You constantly had the feeling of being watched because of the masses of people and the waitress was also completely unnerved. The thermal baths have seen us for the last time.

The thermal bath itself is very nice and the price is absolutely right. Sauna area also very nicely set up. Only the changing room - locker labyrinth causes a bit of confusion on the first visit.

We were there on a Sunday and waited in line for quite a long time. But otherwise, the thermal baths didn't seem overcrowded. Great sauna as always, delicious soft drinks.

The 3 stars mainly refer to the price! I would give full points for the offer and cleanliness! But a family trip could quickly cost 250-300 euros! In my opinion that is just too much! But you can definitely treat yourself to a break and relax there!

I applied to work as a sauna specialist there and I have never received such an insulting rejection in my life. I was told “by the deputy management” that many applicants are also available in person. The conversation had managed, but they could explicitly cancel me by email. I would have preferred not to receive an AW! My application was professional and took a lot of time.

(08.02.25) Beautiful thermal baths. Very good sauna area. Staff at the food counter in the thermal spa area were extremely unfriendly. Not even a smile crossed his lips. The order will only be accepted if you have found a table with a seat, which is fine so that no food "flies around" in the thermal baths, but there are very few tables, so you sometimes have to wait a long time before you can even place your order. And what I found really bad was that my towel was stolen in the sauna area. And no, there was no mistaking it as it was hanging on a hook under my coat. The action ruined my day. But it has nothing to do with the thermal baths. So keep your eyes open everywhere!

Actually a wonderful place. Yesterday, February 7th, 2025 from 6 p.m., unfortunately no relaxation, recreation or well-being. Why? Because the thermal baths seem to be developing into a fun pool. Children jump from the edge of the pool, just screaming. No trace of calm. Unfortunately I didn't spot a lifeguard - I think I just didn't notice him in the fairly full bathroom. So I couldn't address this. After a little more than an hour, my girlfriend and I left the thermal spa, after which we were “allowed” to do some jumping at the edge of the pool in the hot pool in the corner. Of course, I gave feedback at the exit and was listened to and offered compensation - but I wasn't interested in this and therefore asked to give it away to a family. So praise to the staff at the exit. This was a very sobering experience that I had not had the opportunity to experience before during my regular visits. Ps: in one of the previous reviews there was talk of an entry shop for a certain number of people. You just didn't notice anything about it. Changing rooms smelled very strongly of feces - although “smelled” is putting it mildly.

We were there for the first time and had to wait almost an hour in total, over half an hour outside, it was cold. It took over an hour to get there, so we didn't want to turn back. I always look at a steam sauna as positive, but some people think they're at a flea market and could have a chat. You're there to relax, so chat when you're outside or it's best to stay completely outside. I always think a lazy river is great, we had it It was lucky that the whole mass was spread out everywhere in the swimming pool, otherwise it would be very tight. The sauna was fine, the river sauna had a special atmosphere, and it got a whole star for that. However, we wondered whether the people in the houses opposite or the cars that drive past don't all have binoculars, the sauna goers walk around naked, no fence in sight, you can wave to the cars, I find that a bit strange as there is no protection anywhere. We then ordered food and wanted to sit down, but everything was full because there were too many people and little seating. The employee said we should have looked for a seat first and then ordered. I don't know such a system. But we would easily have to wait half an hour. Luckily, a couple saw our searching look and offered us a seat. The baked potato with a well-portioned salad was delicious for just under €10. I found the swimsuits at the entrance for almost €100 sensational, and the bathrobe for almost €100 also left us with a certain ironic effect. Conclusion: If I lived nearby, it's quite possible that I would go there more often, but apart from the "special" river sauna, we also have the same thing in our area.

A very wonderful complex. Everything is in good condition, the atmosphere is magical, there is lighting everywhere. The water is at a comfortable temperature, there are pools with medium, hot and cold water. I was very impressed by the pool, which goes from the premises to the street. Hydromassage, sauna, salt room - pleasant procedures) When you swim, you have a view of the mountains) I stayed there for three hours, it was enough for me) Recommendation: take gels and shampoos with you so that you can immediately bathe on the spot.

First of all, the positive: The thermal baths are very clean and modern. The number of saunas is also great. We also liked the coffee scrub. Now to my 2 star deduction: I would have actually wished that the staff had paid more attention to clearing out the sun loungers that had been cheekily reserved. The infusions in the morning and at lunchtime were very weak and listless. It wasn't until Saskia came that the infusions were great. Big compliments to Saskia at this point. The range of infusions in the river sauna was also a bit disappointing (2 for the whole day). Although the river sauna is the most beautiful of all. It was also a shame that the bar downstairs was closed. Another little thing that was really annoying in the long run. The entrance door urgently needs to be readjusted. The door closer slams the door so hard that the bang goes through the entire sauna area. Unfortunately, it wasn't a little nap. Except maybe in the rest area.

Hello. We were in the thermal baths last week with our 2 grandchildren. It was very full. I have to say we were happy that we had found 2 loungers for 4 people, but the annoying thing was that as long as we were in the water with the children, our loungers were cleared away And I don't think that's okay at all because if I don't pay a little money for the entrance fee (day ticket) then I don't want to spend the whole time looking for loungers and especially not with the small children. Great thermal baths... I'd love to come back...

Since the thermal baths opened, I have enjoyed going to the sauna. Back then, 3 hours of sauna cost around €17. After the infusions there was a little attention to the food and the price/performance was okay. Year after year, of course, the prices become more expensive, but at the same time the quality also decreases. For currently 27€ (only during the week) there is now a musty-smelling changing room as a welcome and rarely or none of the attention mentioned. The anteroom of the garden sauna was (or still is) covered in spider webs for weeks, including flying insects hanging in them. Even the frequently changing (and therefore inexperienced) pourers do not reflect the level of quality that the thermal spa claims to have. For the asking price, I expect people who have at least some specialist knowledge, can explain safety instructions before the infusion and wave a flag before they get going at prime time on Friday evenings. In the Westerwald, a day ticket for a modern sauna area costs €14.5...

Yesterday I went to the thermal baths with my girlfriend. We liked it very much. We cannot understand the negative reviews regarding the loungers, as there is a note on each lounger indicating that they will be cleared if not used. The wellness area was also very nice and the staff were very nice and accommodating. However, I have to deduct one star because the seating in the restaurant is very limited and there were "too many" small children there. I have a small child myself, but I take him to the swimming pool and not to the thermal baths, where you actually want to relax. But overall a very nice stay.

I went to the thermal baths on Friday. OK. That the cash register went on strike. Can happen. After a short queue we went in. Plus point, you don't need an extra coin for the cupboard, minus point on the key, since you can use the chip to open and close the cupboard you have chosen, you don't have a number on the chip and of course there is no clue anywhere. Then I was very shocked at how SMALL the swimming pool overall is. The pools themselves are very nice and the bathroom is very clean. The rainforest shower was great fun, I almost see the size as a waste, there is room for 10 and it is used by a maximum of 2 people... We didn't use the sauna. And at 11 we left again. Thank God, then it would really be too crowded for me. Conclusion. For 2 hours 17 € I think it's just ok, BUT not when I can't find the theater with the loungers and no information about the baskets and keys etc. when I enter... and on the subject of baskets and loungers... when there's nothing going on , I think it's a shame to put the things away... Maybe ok at peak times... So I'm definitely not coming back

The thermal baths are very nice, but unfortunately when I visited the capacity was 100%, so rest and relaxation was not possible because of the many visitors.

The thermal baths are great, but there are no parking spaces for larger cars or motorhomes, except for a parking space that is very far away if you have to walk. The associated hotel may be very good but unfortunately far too expensive

To be honest, the reviews put us off, if only because the loungers are cleared away and you have to worry about not finding your personal belongings where you last left them. You don't want to spend all your time in the water or sauna, but you also want to be able to look forward to being able to return to your reserved lounger stress-free and not have to constantly look for something new! Why doesn't the thermal spa set it up so that only a limited number of guests are allowed in and there are loungers or, as in one of our favorite thermal spas, they buy a lounger and reserve it just for themselves. We are regularly near the Emser Therme and have often thought about spending a day there. But for us it's not worth it given the price and the stress involved.

Unfortunately, the name “Therme” is no longer appropriate. In recent years, the thermal baths in Bad Ems have unfortunately developed into a fun pool for families. We always enjoyed going to the thermal baths to relax and really enjoyed the time. The food is delicious, the massages are to die for. However, for about a year we have been witnessing the same spectacle again and again. Children having fun in the pools with !snorkel masks!, diving goggles, toys and diving rings. Jumping from the edge of the pool, running around wildly. Of course, I would like to emphasize that children are of course welcome in the pool and also pay a high entrance fee. But this pool is not a fun pool, but a thermal bath. There used to be a strict ban on cell phones here - now Instagram Reels are viewed at full volume. As a child, I had to behave in a way that was appropriate in a spa where other people wanted to relax. Otherwise we left and the trip was over. Nowadays there is nothing but disrespectful behavior towards others. Unfortunately, the lifeguards are not interested in this behavior. Far too many people are now allowed into the bathroom. Sometimes you sit in the warm pool with 30 people. It feels more like you're at a mass event (there was no less going on in the other pools). The volume in the thermal baths has also changed significantly. There is always a “water feature” running somewhere. Whether it's a mushroom, massage jets or anything else to amuse people. Quiet minutes here would be nice again. It would definitely make sense to introduce “child-free days” here. Otherwise, you should definitely reconsider the name “thermal spa” and “relaxation”. Unfortunately, the cleanliness leaves a lot to be desired on busy days. I was particularly disgusted by the floor in the women's shower. However the floor in a swimming pool gets so dirty (but the main thing is that as an individual I was able to take a quick shower and it doesn't matter whether I leave my rubbish lying around. Someone will take care of it). A really very sad development that we would not have expected. Before our next visit we will have to consider whether we will go to another bath.

We were there as a women's clique from Friday to Sunday to take a break. The rooms were great with a beautiful view of the river sauna! We were able to use the thermal baths until midnight on Friday and Saturday, which was very nice because it was very busy during the day. Still, it was nice! I booked a hammam ceremony with a friend and it was very relaxing, especially because of the friendly staff! The sauna and the infusions and peelings were terrific! And for minor incidents there was an immediate solution! Now for the breakfast buffet, it was absolutely great, there was everything your heart needed! So we felt really comfortable and would love to come back!

Very nice thermal baths with various pools and relaxation options. We arrived and wanted to go to the thermal baths on Saturday afternoon: no chance: people were queuing outside. We left again and came back at 8pm. No waiting time there. A little full at first, but then it quickly emptied.

If you want to relax for a day, this is the right place for you. Modern thermal baths with a wide range of pools and saunas, plenty of sun loungers and good food.

I have been visiting the Bad Emser Therme for years and every time I am refreshed and relaxed. You should check how busy the thermal spa is and if you prefer it to be quieter, go during the week. I don't understand people who, when it's at 100% capacity on the weekend, are surprised that it's more crowded and that there might be a few children there. The prices for children aged 1 and over are already high and a visit is not exactly cheap for a family with children. I suspect you might want to avoid too many children, which I could understand given some of the reviews here. I deduct one star in terms of price/performance. The family cabin could not be closed (only on the last visit) due to a defect on one side and a nice gentleman burst in while changing. Something like this should be repaired immediately.

I actually like going here - today it was even more relaxed because it was less crowded than usual. Positive: small skewers with grapes at the sauna bar are free! Good idea! Unfortunately, someone messed with my bathrobe - that wasn't very nice..

I visit the Emser Therme every week. Unfortunately it has been very cold in the swimming pool and restaurant for two weeks. I think this is due to the new strip curtains between the indoor and outdoor areas. Unfortunately, visiting the restaurant and the swimming pool (inside) is no longer pleasant for me. Unfortunately, the water temperature in the sauna area is also far too cold in winter. It would also be nice if the calcified shower heads were replaced occasionally. A shower at the garden sauna sprays in all directions. Because of these criticisms, visiting the sauna at the Emser Therme is no longer as relaxing for me.

We went to the thermal baths yesterday. We really liked it so far, and the food was also good. However, we won't be coming back because it's not okay for the lifeguards to take our towels from the loungers while we are in the water with our children and for them to then be used by other people. If you charge 91 euros for entry, I expect to also have a lounger available.

Had a relaxing day in the thermal baths. You should be there at 9 a.m. on weekend mornings. Completely relaxed entry and no major queues until around 12 p.m. It wasn't overcrowded inside either.

The thermal bath itself is nice, but quite expensive. When we were there on Sunday it was very crowded. We had to queue, which we accepted. However, the lifeguards constantly cleared away the loungers when no one was lying on them. Of course the visitors didn't like that. In any case, we won't be coming back. They charge entry from everyone, but they don't have enough loungers. If I have to go to the toilet with one child and the man is in the water with the other child, I have to worry that my things have been put away. Eating together is also not possible. This is too much stress for me.

Yesterday I went to the thermal spa with my 7 1/2 month old daughter. Unfortunately, I have to say that there is only one cabin with a changing table, which is very disappointing (other pools and thermal baths have an average of 2-3 such changing rooms). We had booked a 2-hour ticket and went out 20 minutes in advance to get a cabin and once again this cabin was used by non-parents. And had to pay extra, I told the checkout and was told there was nothing they could do. It can't actually be the case that you pay for two hours of swimming but then have to leave after just one hour because you always have to wait 10 to 20 minutes for a cabin.

No longer meets our expectations. We actually waited in line for 45 minutes. Last year we got in without waiting (even on weekends). The bathing area was absolutely not overcrowded, probably the saunas were. And we waited so long for this with a 1 year old toddler. Leaving guests standing in front of the door for such a long time, sometimes at 0 degrees, is not cool. We also think that over €13 is quite expensive for our son; in other thermal baths, children up to 3 years old or 1 m tall are free. Of course you can take an amount, but we think it's too much.

We visited the thermal baths including the hotel from January 17th to 19th, 2025. The room is very nice, with the window open the nearby dam is very loud at night. The wellness area was on January 18th. overflow. It was also not possible to book additional treatments on the arrival date because everything was already fully booked. Luckily we got accounts on January 16th. Book another 1-hour treatment online, starting on January 18th. was canceled by the EmserTherme by telephone (in case of illness). We noticed that many treatment rooms remained vacant - probably due to a lack of staff. We have now paid almost 1,100 euros for 2 people for 2 nights and a total of 3 treatments (1x hammam, 1x oriental bath and 1x full body massage). Looking back, I would say that the quality would need to be improved to justify that €1,100, especially since we skipped the €39/person menu at dinner and settled for cheap €23 food. The quality is not in proportion to what is offered.

Rip off! Don't visit on weekends!! Waiting time at the entrance approx. 50 minutes + 2 euros surcharge per person. Still completely overcrowded. Clearly too expensive for that. 27 euros for almost an hour of queuing and then occupied loungers and pools is not a good price-performance ratio. To be clear: The operators can't help it that a lot of people come and you have to wait a long time. But then ask for 2 EURO more? For what? If I pay a little more for a long film in the cinema, then I get more. In this case, the increased entry price is not offset by any greater benefit. The thermal bath itself is very nicely designed, the bistro offering is very high quality, not the usual swimming pool fries. But as I said, under no circumstances come on the weekend!

I found the thermal baths really nice, even if it was very crowded at lunchtime, which happens often. Admission stopped at 11, so it's worth coming early. Personally, the saunas were a bit too dry for me, only 2 saunas with over 20% humidity. This is of course a matter of personality, unfortunately my body doesn't tolerate the dryness well. I found the selection of food quite poor, especially for a thermal spa, but it was tasty.

On December 30, 2024, the thermal baths were very busy, so we had to wait about 30 minutes to get in. During our stay we use the river sauna, the outdoor pool and the herbal sauna. We also bathed in various pools and enjoyed crispy baked farmer's bread or raclette bread. Overall we really enjoyed the visit and we look forward to returning in April.

I was there with my child. We both enjoyed the four hours. It was our first visit and there is a lot to explore. The large number of weekend visitors did not have a disruptive effect. Tarte flambée and coffee with milk were good, we recommend looking for a free table to eat early at lunchtime. The outdoor swimming pool at 0 degrees has its own charm.😉

Very nice thermal baths, but very expensive.

We visited the Bad Ems thermal baths on a Sunday with the whole family (2 adults and 2 children) and overall had a nice day. The entry price of just under 100 euros for 4 hours is not cheap, but it is justified given what is on offer. The bathroom itself is really great - the pools are modern and very well maintained, and there is a nice selection of different areas for both adults and children. We particularly liked the relaxed atmosphere in the thermal area, even though it was quite crowded on a Sunday. However, we would have liked more places to retreat for families, as there are only a few places where you can relax together. The food in the thermal baths was surprisingly delicious, which is not a given in many leisure facilities. The selection was good and the quality was good, even if the prices were a little higher. But definitely recommended for a snack or a meal in between. Conclusion: The Bad Ems thermal baths are a wonderful place for relaxation and fun, especially if you value a high-quality bathing experience. A few improvements in the area of ​​family friendliness (e.g. more quiet areas) would be desirable. Overall, a clear recommendation, especially if you don't necessarily go on Sunday! 4 out of 5 stars.

How was it here? Yeah, no idea. We gave up after about half an hour of searching for a parking space within a few hundred meters.

The thermal baths are very nice. We particularly liked that there is also a 25 m sports pool. This is located outside and had a water temperature of 24.5 degrees. The saunas are good. There are regular infusions. We particularly liked the river sauna, from which you can see the Lahn. Unfortunately it got very crowded on Saturday afternoon. The number of guests exceeds the capacity.

Despite the high prices (parking costs extra), the thermal baths are quite ok, but no comparison to the Mediterana in Bergisch Gladbach. Dealing with guests is, at least in my case, miserable. What really upset me is that my bathrobe and flip-flops were "stolen" from me. Although I immediately informed the staff about this, the only response I received was: This happens every now and then. Call in a few days and maybe things will show up again. After about 3 weeks and listening several times, I received the response that my things (worth €150) hadn't shown up yet and that I was unfortunately unlucky. Since the Emser Therme appears to be a self-service shop, we will avoid this thermal bath in the future.

Actually 3.5 stars! We were there for the candlelight evening. Completely too full for me. And the division is somehow too chaotic. Bistro near the loungers, near the foot baths etc... the bare exposed concrete walls are not my taste. A plus for the great salt sauna and the infusion with singing bowls.

We booked the Turkish Hamman treatment for two last night and were really positively surprised. The treatment lasted 1.5 hours and was a great mix of cleansing, care and relaxation. The two employees were also extremely friendly. You're happy to give 5* for that

I wanted to really relax again, but unfortunately I had to wait an hour in front of the entrance and freeze. I liked the sauna area, but after 6 p.m. it became so crowded that there was no longer any thought of rest or enjoyment, swimming in a relaxed form was not at all more possible but the river sauna was a real hammer

We visited both the thermal baths and the restaurant. Both were great as always. The food tasted very tasty and was reasonably priced.

The tone of the staff at the restaurant is terrible. Without a seat, there is no food, the choice of tables is extremely limited, so you really have to fight for the table. You pay a lot of money for relaxation and get the opposite. PS: Apple pancakes for children, two pieces, frozen food, not even freshly prepared - €8.70. This is beyond outrageous!!

Not recommended if you want to relax on vacation. Otherwise everything was clean. Food also very tasty. Sauna area invites you to relax. If so, be there early. Otherwise long waiting time at the checkout.

Were there over the holidays and wanted to have a nice wellness vacation. It reminded us more of a water park in the Ruhr area. Completely overcrowded, screaming, raging children jumping off the edge, with some parents showing them how to do it or encouraging the children to do so. The lifeguards are mostly busy clearing the loungers in the front area because this is probably too difficult to understand for some clients. But the lifeguards should also dare to go a step further just as often to the hot pool, which is used all day by certain predominantly male people. Photographs are taken, filmed and once you've managed to get a spot, you're essentially pushed out. You book the hotel for good money and can't enjoy your visit to the thermal baths.

We visited the sauna world on December 19, 2024. We were not satisfied with the sauna staff in almost all infusions. They gave the impression that you didn't know what you were doing. Only one employee pointed out to the guests that they should put towels underneath and carried out the infusion perfectly. We were there all day and unfortunately not much has changed. We contacted the operator in writing and also received written and verbal feedback that there are a lot of new employees who probably still need to be trained. We think that with an entrance fee of 36 euros per person, you can expect a lot more. The loungers could also be replaced again, some of them are sagging and you can feel the struts. Unfortunately, it wasn't a relaxing, beautiful wellness day.

We spontaneously went to the thermal baths for the first time today and didn't regret anything ☺️ We drove for 1.5 hours and were initially worried because the journey would exceed the capacity of the facility. The entire facility is beautifully designed, modern and high quality. Which I personally really liked. Lots of wood. Please be sure to praise the employees! Incidents in the sauna area, all the rules were implemented, someone had a cell phone in their hand, Zack warning, infusions fantastic, looked helpless? You were spoken to! Big fat praise ❤️ A really successful day! We still have ideas to add a cherry to the cream: ⛱️We were overwhelmed and helpless at first - we would have liked a map of the respective areas ⛱️Expand the gastronomy offer in the sauna area or rethink the thermal spa area. I was very disappointed with my visit to the Bad Ems thermal baths. After just 5 minutes I was shocked by the volume: children were extremely loud, wore diving goggles in the pool and created a crowded and restless atmosphere. Even in the quiet area, the screaming from the lower floors could be clearly heard - relaxation was impossible here. The hotel is excellent, but the thermal baths themselves were a complete disaster for me. It felt more like a crowded indoor pool and had nothing to do with the thermal spa experience I was hoping for. Unfortunately not recommended

We were in the sauna area on a Saturday. As all the other reviews suggest - it's a waste of money on weekends. The sauna area itself is very beautiful. The river sauna offers a unique panorama. Garden sauna, sound sauna, steam bath and other saunas with temperatures from 57 to 90 degrees are very nice and offer variety. We arrived just after 10 and were already in line. For 2 people we paid €66 for 4 hours of sauna. After a short time, all the rest areas available were already overcrowded or occupied by towel reservations. There is no need to talk about infusions. The catering is ok, but expensive. Drink selection with fresh juices, coffee and non-alcoholic drinks is good. As far as we saw, only ready-made tarte flambée from the frozen food. We left an hour before the paid time was up because the experience had nothing to do with relaxation. It felt more like being in an overcrowded cage.

From a place of rest to a monkey enclosure – never again Emser Therme! I have been visiting the Emser Therme for over 10 years and have always valued it as a place of peace and relaxation. But what I experienced on my last visit was the exact opposite. It's pure chaos and it seems as if there are no rules anymore. There is loud screaming in all the pools, water is splashed around, and visitors jump in without care. It feels like a fun pool, not a thermal spa. The behavior towards women is particularly unbearable: my wife was constantly stared at and the atmosphere was simply unpleasant. It seemed as if some guests were using the thermal baths as a meeting place for flirting and self-expression rather than for relaxation. The pools are overcrowded, the noise level is unbearable and the staff does not intervene. It feels like a monkey enclosure – loud, chaotic and disrespectful. For someone looking for relaxation, this is an absolute nightmare. Despite having a large balance on my loyalty card, I will never return. That was definitely my last visit. It's just sad how a once beautiful place could deteriorate to such a state. The thermal spa management must take urgent measures if they do not want to lose even more regular customers.

My wife and I spent a very relaxing and pleasant day there. It is a modern, attractive thermal spa with a great sauna area. The river sauna in particular is a highlight, as are the massages that we were able to enjoy. I would describe the price-performance ratio as very good - even in comparison with other hotels with similar offerings. Above all, the prices for the massages are okay and the dining options are not overpriced either. The situation with the reserved loungers bothered us a bit in the meantime. It felt like 1/3 of the loungers remained unused (when the house was full). We would like to proceed more consistently here. In Sinsheim, for example, it takes barely 2-3 minutes for unused loungers to be cleared away. This is certainly annoying for the staff at first, but it seems that word gets around quite quickly among the guests. Conclusion: Keep it up and please keep it in this beautiful condition!

We were very excited to visit the Emser Therme today. Unfortunately we have to say that we were a bit disappointed. If you are used to Erding and Bad Wörishofen you should not go to the Emser Theme with the same expectations. Basically everything was clean and tidy but overall it unfortunately had more of the impression of a family fun pool than that of a thermal spa with the aim of promoting relaxation and health. The offer in the thermal baths is also significantly different than in the topics mentioned above. Still 3 stars.

If you ignored the checkout area and the restaurant staff it would be 5 stars. Because the bathroom itself as well as the massages are very well maintained and very good. Despite the incredible rush, you can still find enough space to relax everywhere. Unfortunately, the checkout area and the check-in there are a complete disaster. The queues are miserably long and the speed of the staff is like that of a turtle taking a nap during hibernation. During each visit, the staff cannot manage to correctly calculate the massage time. No matter what you pay at the beginning, in the end you end up having to pay something back, which in the end turns out to be a misunderstanding and incorrect entries in the cash register. The checkout staff are friendly in the morning and overwhelmed in the evening. The machine works every 4th time. Unfortunately, wellness doesn't start at the entrance and ends after showering, because the changing area is also far too narrow and small for large crowds. Oh and the staff in the restaurant is a disgrace. If eggs are missing there, you will be complained that you want eggs for breakfast. You also get complained about when the lady at the checkout makes a mistake and you wait a long time for an order. The kitchen complains against the cash register and the cash register complains against the kitchen. This definitely has to get better. Just like the rolls, which were completely ice-cold on the inside and thawed beforehand. That's unbelievable considering the prices.

We were in the thermal baths and sauna park on December 30th, 2024. It was bursting at the seams. We would have to wait a long time for changing rooms. Showering...toilet...it was like going into a "sardine can". That was impossible. Fun, relaxation was not possible. Please do something...You have to regulate the number of visitors. The water in the swimming pool is no longer clean with such an overload. .

Long waiting time. It is not clear to me why it is not possible to introduce a system with numbers so that a woman can see on the Internet how many people are waiting in front of her. Works great elsewhere. Since there are regularly long queues here, this would be urgently needed. Completely incomprehensible why people are literally left out in the cold.

The place is very good, but they don't have policies for children and families. The wait was terrible, more than an hour. We were 4 adults and 5 children, one with a disability. Nobody helps you or improves the times so that the wait for families is shorter.

No booking service. The queue and waiting line is insane need 80min+ to get inside. Other therme pools are much better in 100km area.

Hello, my dears, I have to tell you it is the most beautiful thermal spa I have ever visited so far. How come? Because it is very pleasantly warm, not just in the pool but also outside. You get out of the water and you don't freeze, the water is super heated, so you notice that it's only very rare that the children and babies have an optimal, perfect body temperature. The food? It's super good 5 stars! Super tasty and very healthy! Sauna and also the swimming pool hygiene is top also 5 stars. Own I couldn't complain about anything except I'm the mother of 3 children, it would have been very nice if there had been something for the children too. A play area in the upper area where there is plenty of space or a pool with a slide. Then we would come more often. I have to say the floor and the tiles are extremely dangerous, very slippery 😅. Otherwise, as I said, I can recommend it to everyone 🙏🙏

Always happy to relax in pleasantly warm water. Swimming 🏊‍♂️ in the small sports pool, water aerobics even without registration. Sauna is supposed to be something special, unfortunately I haven't been there yet. Good parking options nearby.
