You expect a spa. But you enter a children's play paradise. Busily screaming children jump high into the water next to you. Then a Spa in the Netherlands is of a different level. The Restaurant has mainly dirty tables. Very pleased, very disappointed.

Well-kept and varied thermal spa area where you can relax and unwind. Very well-equipped fitness area and plenty of indoor and outdoor relaxation space with a spacious lawn.

Very nice thermal baths. There may be longer waiting times on weekends. Not cheap in price but a large variety of pools. I can't say anything about the sauna area yet.

A nice place to relax and enjoy the warm water and steam sauna. Over the weekend it was a bit crowded

Basically it wasn't a bad sauna day on August 20th, 2024. However, for 36 euros per person I expect more performance than I was able to experience. I also only rate the sauna landscape. This was clean and modern and has a wonderful location on the Lahn. I thought it was a shame that there was only one infusion sauna. Regarding the staff: the staff was late for almost every infusion or even forgot that you were waiting for the peeling in the steam sauna. We also waited in vain for an apology. Especially if you wait 5 minutes in advance to get a seat in the sauna, it is even more important if the infusion starts on time. When I wanted to enjoy the sound sauna, I also realized that it was more of a silent sauna. Only after I spoke to an employee about it was the error in the electronics resolved. When my girlfriend and I wanted to make ourselves comfortable in a relaxation room, we immediately left it alone. The sun made the relaxation room very hot and there was an unpleasant smell of plastic. Unfortunately, the gastronomy in the sauna is not the best either. The freshly squeezed juices are wonderful, but the food is rather poor. The menu only showed tarte flambée, which made me a bit skeptical. It was only when I asked that I found out that the tarte flambées are frozen and are only warmed up for consumption. Something like that is a no-go for me, especially if you have to ask about it first. So we went to the swimming pool to eat sensible food. The food there was also impeccable. All of these inconsistencies lead me to give it 3 out of 5 stars. I'm used to better sauna areas for a lower price.

Very pretty and not too crowded.

The water is nice and warm! It's to enjoy! Outdoor sports pool is not too cold either! There are many loungers outside and inside. Water carousel is fast and lots of fun for everyone! Water aerobics with music and “noodles” is great! Finally - sauna world is simply nice for relaxing. A super day for the whole family!

We have been going to the thermal baths for years and unfortunately I have to say that it has now become a fun pool. It's surprising that so many families with children don't go to the outdoor pool given the expensive entrance fee, as it's still the holidays at the moment and the weather is nice and warm. Swimming is increasingly becoming an obstacle course for children playing and swimming sideways. People were playing with water polo in the exercise pool, and the lifeguard was more busy with his cell phone instead of paying attention. Almost a week ago I drew attention to a broken toilet seat in the women's toilet, the problem has still not been fixed. Guys, that doesn't make a good impression and you should really think about whether you still live up to your high standards.

After we read that it was supposed to be one of the leading thermal spas, we were disappointed; we had already been to a few thermal spas that were really great. In our opinion, we would describe the Bad Ems thermal baths more as a leisure pool, which is why we only give it 4 stars. Staff was friendly, the bathroom is clean. I would also like to say to the visitors that you take your shoes and don't just take some from other people's loungers because you can't find yours anymore and don't put your shoes right in front of the stairs but put them when you go to the pool with your shoes off to the side so that others can also get into the pool without having to step over a mass of shoes. We didn't use the catering service. We were in the area as holidaymakers 2 weeks ago.

Today was our first visit to the Emser Therme and we were thrilled with everything. Starting with the super clean changing rooms and showers, through the various thermal pools, to the delicious food that is also affordable. We will definitely come back.

We were there several times as hotel guests. We noticed that far too many photos are taken with cell phones. Some staff walk past people and ask them to respect their cell phones and others stay in their lifeguard cabin and prefer to chat or show their colleagues their trained upper body. As a hotel guest, you are normally allowed to stay in the bathroom until 10 p.m., but this is not possible after 9:40 p.m. because people clean up loudly, pumps or lights are switched off and the rotating barrier to the hotel was switched off early twice so that you can do anything without having to call staff We also had complaints that we (about 10 people) were all late and couldn't get out of the bathroom.

Expensive but relaxing. Not many kids which is good but sometimes a few kids. There is never trouble with anyone being too loud. Restaurant doesn’t have a lot of options but food is good. Water is pricey so bring your own

I don't know what it's like during the week but definitely not recommended on the weekend, it's too crowded and to top it off there's a 2 euro weekend surcharge. And then the live music is nice, but for me it's just annoying. But food and cleanliness is good. Luckily there are two other thermal baths near Koblenz that are a bit old-fashioned but are a lot cheaper and much quieter.

A very nice and well thought-out thermal spa with sauna and whirlpool also with an outdoor area and lawn.

Clean thermal baths with sauna area. We had a honeymoon day according to our wishes. It is actually advisable to arrange appointments for massages and imperial baths in advance. We were also very enthusiastic about the food, very, very tasty. We'd love to come back.

I have always been very satisfied over the last few years. However, I think it's a disgrace that the prices are being increased and the water temperatures are being turned down. The water outside was at most lukewarm. What you hoped for: ice-cold air in the evening and lying in hot water and enjoying the whirlpool, as it was all these years, no longer seems to exist. We had to go back inside after 2 minutes because we were freezing. The large indoor whirlpool pool was also far from pleasant. Only the hot pool was bearable. But of course it was completely overcrowded because several visitors obviously felt the same way. In the end we left after 1.5 hours even though we had paid for 3 hours. If you have to save money due to the energy crisis, just raise the price to 25 euros but for God's sake bring decent temperatures back to the pools. In any case, this was the last visit for the four of us. Very unfortunate Furthermore, the thermal spa now looks more like a family fun pool with screaming children instead of a thermal spa that is used for relaxation. Thank God there are still decent thermal baths like in Euskirchen 🙂

Nice, but why not put the restaurant in the whirlpool? The restaurant should be covered somewhat. Being constantly watched by people while eating, or conversely being watched while eating, is unpleasant.

The Emser Therme is a beautiful pool with a wide selection of pools. The steam bath and salt inhalation are also located in the thermal spa area. The restaurant offers enough selection of food and drinks. On some days when the pool is busy and the capacity limit has been reached, you have to expect a bit of a wait. It is therefore advisable to buy tickets in advance on the homepage. Parking is available in the parking garage of the hotel and thermal baths and at €5 a day it is unbelievable. From the parking garage it takes about 3 minutes to get to the thermal baths. Overall, you can spend relaxing hours in the bathroom and go home full! Gladly again!

A small but nice thermal spa. Everything you need is there. The food tastes great, the employees are friendly, and they are comfortable. A great lazy river outside! What I miss a little is a salty pool, but that would be complaining on a high level! Recommended!

I actually like the thermal baths with the warmth of the different pools. But for me it is not a thermal spa that is used for relaxation. It should be more normalized as a normal swimming pool because there are only small/children there and there is only children screaming and splashing. Eating there is NOT recommended. On my last visit I had a tarte flambée where I didn't feel well. During my stay today I got a spaghetti bolognese. Now I'm lying at home with a stomach ache. I'm throwing up and can't get out of the toilet. I just feel so bad. The Cola and Fanta were stale. And this was the case every time I wanted to drink something there, the drink was stale. In addition, the risk of slipping is very high. - Whether with slippers or barefoot. It's so slippery. Today I almost fell again because I hurt myself so much and the cleanliness in the changing rooms and the cleanliness of the toilets also leave something to be desired. Tufts of hair everywhere on the women. The toilets are just disgusting. I never wrote a response. But today I'm so angry and it was definitely the last time I was there. I often gave the thermal bath another chance because it was the closest one in the area. That was the last day for me.

We were really looking forward to the day at the Emser Therme. Just relax for a day. In any case, this is not possible in the thermal baths. Noise like in a 5 euro outdoor pool. Peace and relaxation not available. Lifeguards don't care about anything. You can't even have peace and quiet for 10 minutes in the relaxation room. Food mediocre to bad. Stomach problems included. It's really a shame about 100 euros, a day's vacation and travel for the bucket. The Emser Therme seems to be more of a leisure pool than a thermal bath. Once and never again. Can no longer be called a thermal bath. You want to enjoy a little relaxation and wind down after a stressful week at work. What you find now looks more like a leisure pool, with screaming toddlers. (Sad) If you get hungry during your strenuous visit there, you will be told that the kitchen is just overloaded. It's a shame, but it will definitely be our last visit there!

Very clean and the water is nice and warm.

We went to the Emser Therme for the first time (4 p.m. to 6 p.m.) on a warm but cloudy Thursday during the summer holidays. Our children are 13 & 16. According to the internet, the thermal baths were 74% full. We didn't have to wait for entry, a free cloakroom or a free shower. So 74% utilization = extremely pleasant. I thought it was great to have free loungers, so you didn't have to look for them and block them. When a great relaxation swing became available outside, the two of us enjoyed a delicious latte macchiato with a view of the Lahn. We enjoyed the following in 2 hours: rain shower, steam sauna (not in the sauna area), cold water pool, hot water pool, swimmer's pool (outdoor area) and the salt inhalation. The thermal baths didn't seem like a fun pool at all and we were able to switch off and relax. Our boys were also super relaxed. There were also very nice staff at the reception, in the restaurant and in the little shop outside. Another thing that should be mentioned are really good hair dryers. In short, I was absolutely thrilled, we were absolutely thrilled. Thanks!!!

We went to the thermal baths yesterday and only used the sauna area, which is why I'm only reviewing the sauna area here. Unfortunately, I am very disappointed because the website gives a completely different picture. On the one hand, I don't really understand the transition area from the bathroom to the textile-free zone, as well as the open area from the restaurant to the sauna area. I also didn't realize that the restaurant employees occasionally make the infusions and then sell food again. Unfortunately, the relaxation rooms don't really have anything to do with peace and quiet. Things are a little better at the top, but there is still room for improvement. What I also don't understand is that people run around in swimwear in the textile-free area, but there are bathrobes or large towels. The saunas themselves were okay, but the surroundings were okay. Since we only found Bad Ems because of a voucher, we probably won't repeat the visit. And what just occurred to me is that a lot of people had their cell phones with them in the relaxation room

The swimming pool is simply amazing and the new hotel next door is also fantastic! I think it is the best location you can find in Bad Ems. If you want to stay overnight, have good food and have everything in one, this is the perfect place.

Lifeguard shouts from the balcony because you are on the phone. You feel like you're back in school.

We really enjoyed. Outdoor and indoor pools. Jacuzzi and showers. There is a cafe on site. There is a smoking area. All payments using a bracelet (no need to take cash with you) payment upon exit. Everything is very clean including the toilets and changing rooms.

The Emser Therme impresses with its modern and clean facility as well as a varied subject area. Unfortunately, the weaknesses in other areas cannot be overlooked. The sauna area seems careless and offers little variety. The relaxation rooms are also very monotonous and don't really invite you to linger. The gastronomic offering includes vegan and vegetarian dishes, but these are neither full nor sufficiently portioned. In addition, the service seemed unfriendly and the guests were just processed. Despite the positive aspects, the overall experience remains disappointing. Improvements in the sauna area, food and service are urgently needed in order to make the thermal spa really recommendable.

The thermal baths seemed a bit neglected to me, and unfortunately the changing rooms weren't very clean. In the swimming area there is the restaurant, with an open area to the kitchen, which is why I also have an unpleasant smell from the kitchen and people walking through the swimming pool with glasses. I can no longer recommend the thermal baths... it smells extremely of sewage and feces in the changing area and in one area of ​​the pool area. During my first visit weeks ago I assumed that a bather had had a mishap... But now after my second visit the same problem. The relaxation is over immediately... when you enter and leave the bathroom. When asked, the staff gave an incomprehensible answer as follows: Yes, the problem has been known for a long time but was not solved for cost reasons. I was supposed to fill out the customer satisfaction questionnaire that was given to me and put it in the mailbox, stating my address. I did that…But to date no response. Absolutely recommended thermal baths Clean and diverse

We like to go here often with our children. Pleasant crowd, but high prices. Points deducted because you cannot use the corresponding pool during the “Rheumaliga” or aqua fitness, but you still pay the full price. The full price was also charged for revision work on the pools. There could be a better solution, especially since children as young as one year old have to pay. No free parking on site. The food is delicious. On weekends you have to be there quite early, otherwise you might have a long waiting time.

We were really looking forward to the thermal baths, took a long journey and didn't leave as relaxed as expected! We had actually originally planned to spend Saturday and Sunday in the thermal baths, but unfortunately it was so crowded on Saturday and there were so many children there that the noise level had absolutely nothing to do with relaxation. We have absolutely nothing against children, but sometimes parents need to make a little more effort and explain to their children that the Emser Therme is not a leisure pool is, but a thermal spa that mainly promises relaxation - a new person in 2 hours is not quite a suitable slogan here! Unfortunately I have to revise my 5-star rating from 4 years ago. Admittedly, we haven't been there for a while. If we hadn't paid 35 euros for entry, I would have walked backwards out. We wanted some relaxation after a very tiring and stressful week at work, but what awaited me when I opened the door was something I would never have expected in my life there. The prevailing noise level had nothing to do with rest, well-being and relaxation. On the one hand loud children, on the other hand even louder parents who sometimes tried to "catch" them again. We were there very often, even on weekends, and were used to different things there. The food is still very good in terms of quality and taste. It was clean too. Unfortunately, we only swam a few lengths outside in the sports pool, ate a little something and went home feeling relaxed. I could have gone to an outdoor swimming pool in our area for 6 euros and wouldn't have had to drive 220 km. Unfortunately, since I've been to the thermal spa more often, I haven't read the current reviews. I learned from it. Unfortunately, we won't be back that quickly.

Fantastically beautiful thermal baths. I like that the sauna area in particular doesn't feel so overloaded. Lots of little niches to rest. Not too many different saunas! An infusion every hour and I don't lose track. The river sauna is the highlight, but the others are also more than impressive. Small touches from the staff too - fruit skewers, face mask...on top. In the summer - lots of places to lie down (I don't know what it's like in the winter...). I also really like the fact that no alcohol is served in the sauna area. And also in the textile area with thermal pools, whirlpool systems, etc...no wishes are left unfulfilled!!! We will be back!!!

I was warmly welcomed at the reception and given all the important information. The entire facility is clean and well maintained, which made the stay even more pleasant. Your physical well-being is well taken care of in the bistro. The selection of food and drinks is varied and the quality is excellent. The prices are fair and the atmosphere is cozy. I can only recommend the Emser Therme. A perfect place to escape from everyday life and recharge your batteries. I'll definitely be back!

The swimming pool is great, the massage was very good and the Kaiserbad too. The sauna area is a dream. Unfortunately there is not much choice when it comes to food.

Unfortunately, the infusions in the sauna have been very, very weak for some time now and you can hardly smell the scent or only for a very short time. The water temperature in the indoor pool was significantly cooler than before. The temperature of the outdoor pool, however, was, as usual, very pleasantly warm. Despite it being a Friday evening, the thermal baths were not overcrowded, which made the visit very pleasant.

Simply switch off, here in the thermal baths this is 100% possible since you visit the thermal baths on a weekend. Peace and freedom are then unlikely. We try to visit the thermal baths at less busy times. So there is something to the slogan: “A new person in 2 hours”. Great swimming pool in a clean and well-maintained condition. There are also many opportunities for wellness and fitness here.

Even if you would like to describe it as something like the little sister of the Bad Wörishofen thermal baths in terms of the variety of pools, the overall impression is first-class. What particularly amazed me was how, almost unnoticed, entire pools were re-tiled overnight by a complete team of professionals, without significantly disrupting bathing operations. This is - hats off - a logistical and technical masterpiece. So if you don't expect brine or sulfur pools, you won't be disappointed here. 🤓

Very nice thermal spa with its own parking garage. Daily flat rate in the car park €5. Very friendly and always in a good mood staff (mostly young staff) I particularly liked the boat sauna, with a small quiet room and a terrace. An infusion every hour, something for every taste. The salt peeling in the steam sauna was also wonderful. (peeling salt is mixed in the thermal bath itself) In the bistro there are freshly baked tarte flambée, freshly mixed vegetable and fruit smoothies, very tasty. And the coffee is particularly good from a private roastery in Koblenz. We went there twice during our vacation Sunday and again Friday. Open particularly late on Fridays. The price-performance ratio is right here.

Everything perfect After our visit we wanted to enjoy a piece of cake and a coffee at the end, the service staff was very concerned about our well-being. However, the atmosphere was ruined by a supervisor who was very loud and unfriendly. She belittled the waitress in a very hurtful way in front of the guests. That doesn't work at all.

The Emser Therme in Bad Ems is the perfect place to escape from everyday life. The modern facility offers a variety of thermal pools, saunas and wellness treatments that leave nothing to be desired. Really nice. :) I really enjoy coming here. The bathroom has two outdoor pools. One where you can chill, the last time with rain and one to have fun with strudel. Various pools inside and the highlight, the hottest pool is the same as the cold pool. Great experience taking turns going in. I also liked the infrared chairs. And the food was delicious every time I ate in the thermal baths. All around good. Ok.. Except maybe the waiting time. We were there in the afternoon and had to queue for 1 hour. But it was raining and it was a holiday, so many others also had the idea of ​​going to the thermal baths. If people are only allowed in when others leave, it will take time. Regardless, that happens sometimes, but I don't think it's the norm and it also has to do with the fact that the employees make sure that the bathroom isn't completely overcrowded. Always my pleasure!

Everything around these thermal baths is dirty, both literally and figuratively. I was there today with my partner. We were given an hour for free because of renovation work. It was another dream of a stay 😍 I spontaneously got a massage appointment and was super super happy. The masseur and med. The lifeguard, who introduced himself to me as Thomas, was very nice and gave a fantastic massage. Probs to him! Very clear recommendation 😇

The facilities are great! One of the most complete I have been to. Sometimes, as happens in the vast majority of Spas or Thermalbads, there are peak hours where there are too many bathers to be able to enjoy even a minimum of what it offers. The reception is not very friendly. Attention, this is constructive criticism of management! If there is no attention at the entrance in English, it leaves much to be desired that when a client who speaks the language arrives, in this case German, they please show a minimum of diligence in their treatment when receiving. It is the visible face of the Therme and does not give a very good impression. Not explaining anything at all and clearly not wanting to make an effort to be foreigners. I have worked for a long time in hotels and reception in both Spain and Germany and I have very rarely seen treatment like this. I say this as a professional in the industry.

Offer varied, prices as a family are quite high for pure bathing use

After the disaster with the tables, I would like to revise my previous review and rewrite it. The reason for the negative previous recession was that we had trouble with an employee because I was giving the baby a bottle and the employee wanted to have my wife's lounger cleared out as she was on her way to the locker to get something for the baby. The lounger was not in use and therefore had to be vacated. On the last visit, the notes had disappeared again and there was enough space for all guests and no stress. So you can go into the water for 10 minutes even with a small child and know that when you come out, the lounger is ready and your stuff isn't lying in those boxes somewhere on the edge. The rest was great as always, everything was good. One star deducted ONLY because there are no fries. What's the point? After swimming all day, I have to drown my portion of health with greasy fries. I was really looking forward to it and then the lady at the counter said "there are no fries"... If that is corrected, a dream, if you want to eat healthy you can, but I need fries. Unfortunately the swimming pool is getting worse and worse. It smells like a drain in the cabins (forever). It's getting more and more expensive (€12 including sauna before / €21.50 today). The children don't need to relax in a thermal spa (even outside of the holidays) Suggestion: Sauna extra entrance. (entrance without swimming pool) Lifeguards who ensure peace and quiet. (as it once was) Check for the drain problem and fix it. A separate children's time or no entry under 16 years. And if the prices are getting more and more expensive, then please invest in a swimming pool. (Enlargement etc.) I've been coming for years and think it's a shame to have to write about this thermal bath like this.

We were at the cafe at 4 p.m. It took a good 15 minutes until we were served, even though there was nothing to do. There were 3 waitresses behind the counter talking to each other and even when they saw us, they didn't come. The haunting lasted a good 15 minutes. When we finally got our cappuccino and coffee with milk, it was lukewarm. We absolutely cannot recommend this restaurant!!!!!

Very nice thermal spa for all ages. Friendly staff. Technically I would say it is up to date. Huge sauna area with a great outdoor area and river area. Only one star less because every 30 minutes the lifeguards took the towels from the loungers and put them in baskets. I've never experienced anything so annoying.

Nice facility. The only drawback: there is often a musty smell in the bathroom area in front of the men's shower. Some guests do not consider it necessary to prohibit their untrained children from making penetrating noise and reckless running around and jumping in and out of the pools. Unfortunately, the staff here is not on their toes and is too generous. Even if the noise may be socially appropriate in other cultures, it is certainly not so in our part of the world, especially since the pool is marketed as a place for relaxation and not as a fun pool. The problem could probably be solved if the prices for minors were equalized to those for adults. Furthermore, it is unfortunately not possible for the company to confirm receipt of a time-bound email within a reasonable time frame of several working days, even though the work required for this is very modest.

There are a lot of children there at lunchtime and very pleasant in the evening.

We were very positively surprised! The time was far too short to explore everything. Be sure to take flip flops with you. The floor is damn slippery.

The thermal baths are nice, but the tiled floors are unreasonable.

Pure relaxation....great thermal baths...but really crowded after lunchtime.....so it's better to get up early and enjoy;)

The thermal baths offer a variety of opportunities for relaxation. You can enjoy the sun wonderfully in the outdoor pool. The water temperature is great. The showers are clean and the water jet is steady, which is essential, especially for a woman. It is advisable to wear slippers outside the pool as the floor is very slippery. But you should also expect that in a thermal spa. So everything is actually great. Unfortunately, the greeting at reception wasn't exactly friendly and you didn't get the feeling of being welcome. The farewell to another employee, however, was always friendly.

Too warm water if you go in summer. Not enough places to relax. You can only stand in the shallow water, there are few massage places. The smell of fried food prevents you from relaxing. On the plus side, it is clean and a place for older people or those undergoing rehabilitation

Nice during the week, in the afternoon. Big swimming pools inside and outside. Food tasty and healthy but expensive. In the weekend, particularly during winter it get's quite crowded. Obviosly, taking pictures is forbidden.

It was quite nice but you should have non-slip shoes without shoes it is very dangerous/slippery

Impossible Employees rude, expensive entry after waiting for an hour and then completely overcrowded. Never again

It is well received and from morning to night.

We have a bonus card and can therefore visit the thermal baths at cheaper rates. Especially if there is a line at the entrance, it is nice to be able to just walk past it. I recommend checking the occupancy rate on the Emser Therme website. If the percentage is over 70% I would stay at home, then it is quite crowded. Otherwise it's a great place to relax. Another tip: Not far from the thermal baths there is a school whose parking lot is free from 5 p.m.

Really beautiful, well maintained, modern and warm. However, it is also very expensive, even for 1-year-old children you pay a lot.

Super beautiful thermal baths, you should treat yourself to it. Great saunas, nice staff, very nice atmosphere. I was able to recover and relax very well.

Really great thermal baths and invites you to relax, even with children (6+8) you feel very comfortable there. The restaurant there is also very organized and everyone enjoyed it👍🏼

Even though I'm not really a sauna user, I was really impressed with the facility! The sauna area and also the thermal baths offer a lot and everything is clean and well maintained! Funny and at the same time professional sauna masters make the visit very entertaining and unforgettable. I can really recommend it to everyone!
