Brauhaus Bismarcks in Bad Ems

The view over Bad Ems is great. The Belle Epoque ambience with pictures of Bismarck and Kaiser Wilhelm also has style. Unfortunately we were disappointed with the food. On Saturday lunchtime there were no more fried or baked potatoes. The little apple strudel wasn't convincing either.

We visited a friend and had dinner there in the evening. Great atmosphere in the restaurant, but the view from the terrace is awesome. All 3 meals were great and the price was also reasonable. And the boys were okay too. So one from me absolute recommendation

Nice restaurant with very friendly service. The house beer is also delicious. Unfortunately, in winter it's not really pleasantly warm inside, especially around the windows. Probably due to the design of the building. The restaurant can be easily reached on foot from the Lahntalklinik. Parking spaces for those arriving by car are also available. I could imagine that the large terrace with the view of the Lahn and Bad-Ems is an absolute highlight in summer.

The Kurwaldbahn takes you comfortably from the town center up to the brewery. I had a hot waffle with cherries, ice cream, cream and a hot chocolate, my friend tried the house beer - everything was delicious. The view is fantastic and the atmosphere is cozy. Staff in a good mood and funny :)

We were there for dinner with two families on Christmas Day. We had reserved the great Bismark room. Perfect service from the start, very tasty food and great ambience. Anyone visiting Bad Ems should not miss this restaurant up there. The view from the terrace high above the city is also great. Keep it up, we'll be happy to come back.

My wife and I went to the Brauhaus Bismarck last Sunday for the second Advent, which is beautifully decorated for Christmas. The food was also very tasty and the waitress was very friendly

When it comes to Jägerschnitzel, there is no salad and dry fried potatoes are frozen food. Much too expensive for frozen goods..... Ambience old-fashioned, run down... Not recommended and not good food

A restaurant that wins stars for its location and great view over Bad Ems. It shouldn't be like that, but in my opinion it is! The food isn't bad, but it's a little lacking in one place or another. Price performance is just within an acceptable range. As I said, you have to be here just for the view.

We were there today with 14 people to celebrate our birthday. I had concerns due to various bad reviews. First of all - all the staff were super nice and accommodating. For food we almost only had different dishes with special requests. Everything came out correctly and everyone enjoyed it. If there was anything to complain about, it would be that it took almost an hour for the food to arrive. But you also have to remember that there are 250 seats and the manageable number of service staff working their tails off. You have my respect and thanks. It was a great day for us, with a birthday song at the end :) Thank you very much!

Food was very tasty and there were large portions. Prices were also good and there was a round on the house. I can only recommend it, especially as the atmosphere here is very nice.

When we arrived on site, we were pleasantly surprised. The restaurant has a nice ambience! We were warmly welcomed and were able to order relatively quickly. My Lillet Wild Berry came with 5 thick ice cubes and some frozen grapes, instead of berries. This made it taste very watery. My husband had the carpaccio as a starter, I had 3 fried king prawns. Unfortunately these were inedible. They couldn't be peeled and stuck to the shell. What little I got out tasted like rubber. The salad that came with it was swimming in dressing, some of which ran down my mouth. The carpaccio was probably okay, but nothing great either. For the main course we had the chicken schnitzel with homemade spaetzle. We left half of it because it tasted old. The chicken also didn't have a "fresh" consistency, it tasted warmed up and a few days old. The sauce came from a tetrapak and was terribly salty. With the accompanying side salad it was the same game as described above. We decided not to have dessert. At a certain time a live band started playing, so conversation was impossible and we then left the restaurant. We wouldn't recommend it. Too bad.

Food was ok, but was better Service was pseudo-funny and rather erratic. Surprisingly, it was announced that payment could only be made in cash, although it said something different at the entrance. Unfortunately there was a music event that we didn't know about. It was very loud so we couldn't have a conversation. The quality of the music was good but not to our taste and also inappropriate for a normal restaurant visit.

We had a great lunch in a great atmosphere with a brilliant view. Unfortunately we couldn't sit outside due to the weather. Great nice service and above all great food. We had chicken schnitzel, tender and juicy - pepper schnitzel with great sauce and great meat quality - zucchini risotto with mushrooms, super tasty. If you visit Bad Ems, you should take a detour with the Kurwaldbahn, enjoy the view and eat delicious food.

We came to the restaurant today with great expectations of a relaxing evening. The stylish furnishings and promising menu gave us hope for an upscale dining experience, especially since we already knew that the price of the food would reflect these quality standards. However, our stay was significantly affected by the disproportionate noise caused by a single table with two children, whose excessive volume literally dominated the otherwise empty room. Despite the overall quiet ambience, the staff seemed unable to ensure an adequate acoustic balance. This would have been bearable if loud children's music - which had no relation to the rest of the restaurant's concept - wasn't also echoing through the room. The combination of loud children's songs and constant noise meant that not only were our conversations disturbed, but our dogs, who were behaving in an exemplary manner on their blanket, were frightened several times. What is particularly disappointing is that the restaurant itself has potential to be a place for fine dining. The staff is friendly, the cuisine is convincing, but unfortunately this impression is massively spoiled by the acoustic chaos. It's a shame that a single table can have such a negative impact on the entire ambience without appropriate intervention. Given that we were expecting a quiet, relaxed evening, we question whether the price-performance ratio is still justified in such an environment. An unfortunate experience that unfortunately might prevent us from visiting again.

Wonderful view on the terrace. However, we had to wait almost an hour for the very clear portion. The Caesar salad came as a salad with regular dressing. And even when paying we had to wait a long time. Too bad.

We ate there for the second time. Back then we had Jägerschnitzel, fried potatoes and salad. Super delicious. The plates were beautifully decorated Yesterday we were there and ordered the same thing. I tried to sit outside. That wasn't great because the furniture was past its best. It was literally falling apart, the backrest probably first. We went in. The young man, the person who served us was super nice. But we weren't convinced by the food at all. There was no sign of the salad. There were very few fried potatoes on my husband's plate. The schnitzel was great, but we really missed the mushrooms. They were countless. The sauce was perfect. It's a shame. Here you can only pay in cash. I know why. I think the Bismarcks brewery needs an overhaul.

The panoramic view is fantastic, but the service and food are not. The outside terrace is not well maintained, there is no good service and the smell from the kitchen and interior is deeply disturbing. A visit from the health department is recommended here.

I spent my birthday there with my children. The chicken citizens were out. The Brauhaus pan was loveless, with burnt potatoes and the onions were missing. We ordered three cocktails, all three were extremely bad. Unfortunately, this will not be our regular restaurant

We were greeted by a young, friendly but still inexperienced lady and seated at a table on the terrace. We ordered an iced coffee and an iced chocolate. The iced coffee came first. “The iced chocolate will take a while”. ???? Then she came. Both glasses were lukewarm as was the drink. We didn't taste any of the ice cream as it had already melted. The fact that the spray cream was spiced up with brittle didn't make the drinks any better. We complained to the eager waitress. After a while - if there was any - the ice cream and cream were already dissolved in the coffee/chocolate. The still inexperienced but nevertheless very friendly lady from the service explained to us "they had needed so much iced coffee in the morning that there was nothing left". So we were offered lukewarm coffee/chocolate with a scoop of ice cream and a bun of spray cream as iced coffee/ice chocolate. I find the kitchen's behavior brazen if not outrageous. I cannot recommend this restaurant. Two stars for the friendly lady from the service.

We wanted to have an iced coffee and an iced chocolate. In the evening around 5 p.m. The service was very friendly, but noticeably completely new to the job. The iced coffee came first, the drink was lukewarm Then came the iced chocolate, also lukewarm. But we couldn't find the vanilla ice cream (according to the menu). So we asked the young waitress whether there should be a scoop of ice cream in the iced coffee. She did some research and came back after a few minutes with the following information: Yes, the drinks have to have a scoop of ice in them. She was the one too. But there was a lot to do in the morning and there were no cold drinks left, so the iced coffee and iced chocolate were made warm. She made us realize that a scoop of ice cream melts without a trace on the “extremely long” journey from the kitchen to the customer. If something goes out, that's completely OK. If you inform the customer and don't rip them off - that's how I feel: "Excursion restaurant, customer only comes once anyway - so what's the point." The ambience and view are worth the four stars. The only thing good here is the great location.

The service was very friendly and attentive. However, I unfortunately cannot agree with the very good reviews so far regarding the quality of the food. We both ordered a salad. The salmon salad was described in the menu as having delicious vegetables such as carrots and tomatoes. Unfortunately the salad only consisted of greens and corn. Unfortunately, the salad was completely drowned in the dressing. The lettuce leaves were floating in it and they were already mushy from the dressing. Unfortunately not edible. Bread was only available upon request. When we paid we got a ball of ice cream on the house due to the poor quality of the food. That was very friendly and attentive.

Nice restaurant with friendly service and a beautiful view from the terrace. The cellar's own beer is delicious, as is the food, the Madagascan pan and schnitzel were good, but when it comes to the currywurst I have to say "leave out the ready-made Hela ketchup" it's just disgusting with its snotty consistency, you can have one in a few minutes Make your own currywurst sauce that tastes a thousand times better, and no parsley belongs on a currywurst.

Gastronomy: Schnitzel from frozen with orange breading and meat that is mushy. Size like a mini plaice fillet. Nothing is fresh there. Currywurst was also tasty in terms of snacks. The order was brought without any changes. Food almost cold, fried potatoes lukewarm, greasy and served on cold plates. It's a shame it used to be better. The view can only score points with drinks.

The boys don't seem structured. Ordered a bottle of water and three glasses. All glasses had huge water stains and two of them weren't rinsed clean. Two of the five flavors of ice cream were not available within a week and that in August. Nobody felt responsible for taking used dishes from the table to clear away even though you walked past it several times 'empty'. Actually, the location is certainly a gold mine, but to be honest... there is a lack of a woman... who has the oversight. The boys are disorganized and they don't have an overview. It's a shame for this location. Maybe trained staff would help. The rooms are quite nice. The toilet facilities are nicely done but not clean. There was a lack of paper and you had to use toilet paper to dry your hands. The air from the hand dryer was very hot. There was paper everywhere on the floor and the sink was so wet that you had to use it from a distance to avoid getting completely wet. So get a woman on board who has an overview and can organize and guide her boys.

Really great - super tasty and such a beautiful view! The service was super nice and everyone took great care of us. We arrived about 20 minutes after the kitchen closed, but we were kindly offered that we could still get schnitzel. One of the best schnitzels I've had! I can also only recommend the homemade cherry iced tea. We will definitely come here more often!🤗

Nice restaurant with delicious food, friendly service and an amazing view. Went there after the ascent with the Kurwaldbahn and were able to enjoy the outdoor area in the bright sunshine. You can take the Kurwaldbahn up and down, or use one of the many hiking trails.

Why only three stars? Even though the food and the ambience are so good...? Very simple - been there twice and spent a total of two and a half hours waiting for food... No holla, no apology, nothing. Wait once - OK, it can happen, but two out of two you can complain. Both times the brewery was only sparsely attended, so the reason is probably home-made, especially since other guests also had to struggle with the same problem... So - don't go hungry!

Apart from the view, I am very disappointed with the brewery. After waiting more than 100 minutes for the food, it was announced that gaiters would finally take 30 minutes. An explanation or even an apology was apparently not considered necessary. I couldn't rate the prawns because they wouldn't be ready for another 10 minutes. I then left this incompetent location. Never here again!

Nice view of Bad Ems. Children's playground is about 150m away, but not visible. Unfortunately, card payment is not possible, but this is clearly stated at the entrance.
