Simply a great restaurant! The cuisine is solid and convincing, the menu offers a great selection, and the wine selection in particular is excellent. The waiter was extremely friendly and competent, especially with the wine selection. The atmosphere is relaxed, casual and inviting – just the right place for a relaxing evening with good food and great wines. Not fine dining, but exactly what it wants to be: a really good pub with heart and quality. Definitely coming back!

The Elma is one of the most beautiful and delicious restaurants in Hamburg! The service is always super nice and the food is fantastic. The good and constantly changing menu is particularly suitable and delicious for vegetarians/vegans! The atmosphere in the store itself is also fantastic.

We live around the corner and we love coming here when we have enough money. We especially love the staff! The food is very tasty - a mixture of tried and tested classics (Wiener Schnitzel) and new surprises. Be sure to leave room for dessert! The lunch menu is also highly recommended.

We were able to enjoy the New Year's Eve menu. First-class cuisine, very high-quality food superbly prepared. A pleasure for the senses, eyes and excellent taste. And then this warm service, we have never experienced anything like it. Every single one of them, from management to kitchen support, is exemplary. We really enjoyed the evening, thank you for that. I have been visiting Elma regularly since it opened. The food is great and it's also good to stop in just to drink. The service is unbeatable. Everyone is professional, very friendly and humorous. I always feel very comfortable.

Everything is just right in this restaurant: great ambience, great cuisine and friendly service. The menu offers a selection of many vegetarian dishes and some meat dishes. The food was perfectly seasoned. We really liked the combination of different flavors, such as blackberry and broccoli or Duroc pork and grape gel! Had a nice evening. Very nice service, great service and a very good Pinot Blanc. The food was generally good, tasted great and had interesting combinations. However, some ingredients were a little too cold and the cod was a little too dry. Little things! But I would definitely come back again!

Really a brilliant dining experience. We sat on the terrace on a Wednesday evening in late summer and had a really great evening. Nice, fast, relaxed and at the same time professional service that was always there, took care of us at all times and also asked about requests from time to time. The starter was burrata, then schnitzel and finally a chocolate cake. And all of it was incredibly good. I would particularly like to highlight the potato cucumber salad, which was a very special side dish Of course it's a little more expensive in terms of price, but that's absolutely proportionate and the quality is right 👍🏼 I'll definitely come back

A real insider tip with very tasty food and quite a few drinks.

We were there at lunchtime. 7 people. Unfortunately the reservation didn't work out. But luckily there was enough space. We all enjoyed it. Everyone was happy.

We ended up here on a tour of Hamburg Altona. Today's restaurant is located on a former DB site. The lunch menu is valid until 5 p.m. Our meals were very tasty. Service very attentive and friendly. Wonderful. We will stop by again.

I can't understand the enthusiasm for Wiener Schnitzel at all. We were there 3 weeks ago, the Wiener Schnitzel was the worst thing I've ever eaten. What was on the table that evening was 100% frozen food baked in the deep fryer. Orange breading without waves and bad meat. Maybe the fresh meat was out... but €30 for the piece was painful. It would have been better to say that Schnitzel is over. I was very annoyed that I hadn't said anything.

I was there for lunch, there was corn-fed chicken breast on polenta, very tasty and moderately priced. What is striking is the beautiful location in the former DB administration building. Beautiful outdoor area and a spacious interior with stylish furnishings.

The price-performance ratio is not right here at all. Selling a pasta dish as a main course that costs just more than a starter and charging just under 25 euros for it is borderline outrageous. I will never come here again!

Seit der Corona - Pandemie haben viele Restaurants Phantasiepreise eingeführt, daran habe ich mich mittlerweile gewöhnt. Aber was sich "Elma" heute geleistet hat, ist unter aller Kanone: Ein Pfifferling-Pastagericht, das von der Menge her kaum mehr als Vorspeise durchgeht (ich habe keine fünf Minuten gebraucht, es zu essen und mir dabei auch noch Zeit gelassen) für 25,- €uro anzubieten ist einfach nur frech. Dieses Preis-Leistungsverhältnis hält keinen Vergleich stand. Ich werde dieses Restaurant nicht mehr besuchen!

Very tasty food in an old train building. The selection on the menu is quite extensive and the prices are on the high side. Free parking (2 hours) at the back of the building, after that it gets expensive as the parking lot is privately managed.

So nice, finally a place where everything is right, where the system is less important than the guest! And you can feel that at Elma in the super authentic, great service right down to the drinks and the food, of course. The service is very attentive and interested in making you feel comfortable. The homemade iced teas are fresh, delicious and warmly prepared. The food is a dream, very wholesome, interestingly designed, prepared with love and keeps you full for a long time. For me one of the best addresses in Altona. Keep it up!

Nice shop, hard-working but overwhelmed service combined with an out-of-control kitchen. -Dill on truffle pasta? -Asparagus woody (white and green) -Green asparagus fried without color -Hollandaise had separated (that neither the service nor the kitchen noticed?! Embarrassing.) -Coriander, unpicked, unwashed, with the stem, slapped onto the plate in half a bunch - Salt? Salt? Salt? The argument “I specifically eat less salt” can be used in the hospital, not in fine dining - Paper napkins and no tablecloths at just under €30 per main course? Come on.... It's a shame, but unfortunately not again.

We went there with some expectations based on the reviews and a recommendation. Staff ok, not overly friendly, more of a latent arrogance. But still within limits. We had already found out about the prices and swallowed, but you're happy to pay something for good food. Unfortunately, it didn't meet expectations and the price level at all. Although intended, but poorly implemented. The mushrooms are drowned in a strong sauce, so that even with effort you can no longer taste the actual taste. Potato salad with a dressing that doesn't match the rest of the dish, Köttbullar, on the other hand, tasteless, super bland puree, and far too little sauce to give the whole thing any flavor. And the portion size was such that we then went somewhere else to eat something to fill ourselves up. Unfortunately the asking price is completely exorbitant, so we won't be coming back a second time.

We've eaten here twice now and everything we've tried has been simply amazing 10/10! The service is super friendly and accommodating, everything happens very quickly and you don't have to wait long. The ambience is also very cozy and invites you to linger for a longer period of time. We will definitely come here more often! :)

The food wasn't bad. However, 30 euros for a Wiener Schnitzel with fries (alternatively potato salad) is far too expensive. Mayo must be purchased additionally. The ambience is quite cool and loud. It has something of a drinking hall about it, but that's a matter of taste. The staff could have been more attentive. The outside area looks very nice. We'll be back for a cool blonde in the summer.

Only two things that I didn't like- I didn't receive the bill , the waitress just told me how much it is And the second I think it's absurd to pay 5€ for Tap water.. Cozy atmosphere in a historic building. We went for lunch and were very pleased with the choice of food and the service, which was polite and attentive. The prices are reasonable for lunch. There is a daily changing dish. There is always a vegetarian menu and a weekly salad. The restaurant is highly recommended and I will try it out in the evening as there is a very good wine list.

Very tasty food, the service is great, the rooms are simply but beautifully decorated, if you sit at a larger table it can get a bit noisy at times, but everything is still within reason, clear recommendation!

Price-performance ratio is not right: The portion size for meat and fish dishes is more like starter size... but at main course prices. Adults won't be satisfied with one main course here. We were here with 6 people, 4 of whom will definitely not be coming back. It is also noticeable that vegetarian dishes are larger in quantity than other main courses. But perhaps it is also intentional to attract more customers who like vegetarian dishes. In any case, for us the Elma is no longer an option. Date of visit: March 2024

Die Portionsgröße bei Fleisch-und Fischgerichten hat eher Vorspeisengröße... allerdings bei Hauptgerichts-Preisen. Erwachsene werden hier mit einem"Hauptgericht"nicht satt. Wir waren mit 6 Personen hier von denen 4 definitiv nicht wiederkommen. Auffallend ist auch, dass vegetarische Gerichte mengenmäßig größer sind als andere Hauptgerichte. Aber vielleicht ist es ja auch gewollt, dass verstärkt Kunden, die vegetarische Speisen mögen, angezogen werden. Für uns jedenfalls ist das Elma keine Option mehr.

Wirklich auffällig war die Portionsgrösse... bei den vegetarischen Gerichten ausreichend, bei Fleisch und Fisch leider sehr enttäuschend! Gerade der loup de Mer für 26,50 war ein kleines dünnes Filet mit etwas Beilage... bei weitem nicht sättigend und für den Preis durchaus enttäuschend! Auch der Service war leider nicht gut. Auf der kleinen Speisekarte wurde Pulpo angeboten, es wurde 2 x bei uns bestellt... Bestellung aufgenommen, nach 10 Minuten kam dann die Info, dass Pulpo nicht da ist. Wir waren um 18.00 Uhr da... wieso weiß der Service nicht Bescheid, dass eine der ca. 5 Vorspeisen nicht vorrätig ist. Als ich im Service gearbeitet habe, war es üblich am Tisch nachzufragen, ob alles mit dem Essen ok sei, während die Gäste am Essen waren... heute wurden wir gefragt als die Hälfte des Tisches - aufgrund der kleinen Fleisch-/Fischportionen - bereits fertig waren. Für den Preis leider ein enttäuschendes Ess- Erlebnis!!!

We've wanted to go to Elma for a long time and now we've finally made it. It was a good idea to make a reservation on a Friday and we had a nice table by the window, where our son also had enough space to play. There are children's chairs, painting supplies and special dishes for the little ones. We had excellent fish and a portion of Köttbullar with great sauce and mashed potatoes. The Rosé Crémant to start with was very good, as was the super friendly service. We look forward to the next visit...

If you don't expect anything, you can't be disappointed, but it's always possible to be surprised. On the way to the cinema we wanted to eat something delicious and had reserved a table for two. We weren't actually positioned very nicely in the room, but that was the only thing to complain about and in the end it wasn't a bad thing. The guest room is bright, lots of wood, everything is open and beautiful in its simplicity. Service - really everyone! - super friendly and quick (without rushing). The menu features newly interpreted German dishes with a huge proportion of vegetarian dishes - and we dug into them. Sylt bread first, soft and delicious with butter (yes, we're not like that) and a little salt, vegetarian roulade, spinach dumplings, avocado in a crispy coating, roasted beetroot, first of all, all dishes were shared so that everyone had something to try , with a glass of Pinot Gris, there was no time left for dessert. But what can I say, we were both thrilled. Had a good meal, chatted, happy and satisfied. Everything is really right in this restaurant, which we left feeling exhilarated and heading towards the cinema after such a great meal. Insider tip, top recommendation, must go, don't miss - you name it. We'll be back. Thanks for the great start to the evening! 🙏🏼😄

However, the selection is extensive and varied and it feels like half of the dishes are vegetarian. The wine list also offers a good selection. The food is very tasty, but the plates are sometimes overdone and arranged quite haphazardly. A little more appearance than reality. The service is consistently very friendly and attentive, but could sometimes be a little more familiar with their own menu. The ambience offers nostalgic, relaxed chic without any pressure. The large interior is a visual eye-catcher, but unfortunately also creates a lot of noise, which makes table conversation difficult.

There wasn't much going on for lunch on Mondays. Unfortunately, the service was overwhelmed - bread with dip arrived after half an hour. Lunch food at a fair price was okay, but not exciting. The ambience is tastefully simple and suitable for a pub.
