Tasty food, not extraordinary, lively atmosphere, good wine choice, worth a try. The tapas are really good. We waited more than an hour for our 4 tapas.

El Perro. A true Munich classic. Nice tapas on offer. Very loud inside.

I liked the atmosphere and the food, but the service seemed a bit cold, and the many small dishes sometimes led to mix-ups. I thought the bread was fantastic. The squid cooked on the plancha was also excellent.

If you're looking for authentic and delicious tapas in Munich, this is the place to go. From vegan/vegetarian to fish and meat, there's something for everyone. About 5-6 tapas are definitely enough for two people. Really, really great!

A super nice and cozy tapas bar. Extremely friendly and attentive service! I haven't experienced anything like it in a long time! Recommendation for groups: Have the server bring you a selection, it's worth it!

The food here is really very good. The mixed appetizer platter alone would have been enough to fill us up. But the tapas we ordered were also very good.

Mixed feelings: The waitress was great. The food was tasty. The price was hefty. Two people, a couple of tapas, desert, two beer and one wine: 90€+ I really liked everything but I would not return. It’s a pity.

When I first went there many years ago, the fish dish remains a fond memory. However, I can't understand why the paella was praised in Käfer magazine in 2021. On my recent visit, it looked and tasted like something from Dr. Oetker. The tapas are a mixed bag. The atmosphere is pleasant.

El Perro is a very nice and authentic-looking tapas restaurant. The menu offers a wide selection of tapas, including vegetarian, meat, and fish. There's also a tapas menu (€27.90 per person), where, if you're at least two people, you get a really large plate of cold tapas and two hot tapas for each person. Depending on the hot tapas you choose, there's an additional €3.50. Overall, the food is good. There's something for every taste, and there are a few interesting surprises, like the "sweet potato croquettes with feta cheese." However, there are also dishes, like the "Gambas al ajilo," that you've had better elsewhere, or that are simply nothing (avocado with ajillo shrimp). The drink selection is extensive and caters to almost every taste. However, there was a nasty surprise at the end when the bill came: the "should I get you a bottle of water?" cost a whopping €8.20 for 0.75 liters. I'll have to be careful next time. Otherwise, overall, it was good.

We had an absolutely wonderful evening at El Perro! The atmosphere is cozy and vibrant — perfect for enjoying authentic Spanish tapas. Our highlight was definitely the dates wrapped in bacon – sweet, savory, and perfectly cooked, a real explosion of flavor. Paired with their Cuvée red wine, which was smooth and full-bodied, it made for an unforgettable combination. The service was warm and attentive, and every dish we tried was fresh, we highly recommend the restaurant.

The food is good. But the service is a disaster. If the ladies weren't constantly chatting, it wouldn't be so chaotic, and you wouldn't have to wait so long. You have to constantly call for someone to come. It can easily take 20 minutes for a drink to arrive. Bread was also constantly out of stock, instead of bringing us two baskets at once. It took 1.5 hours before we could eat... Complete chaos, as every server seems to be everywhere. Zero structure... The ladies, when they do come, are very nice, but that doesn't make up for the endless wait... Too bad, the food would be good, but the rest unfortunately ruins it...

We only had first platter which was not very spanish, mire arabic. Taste was good. Service was bad. Waited very long for drinks, but they were very friendly. Atmosphere is nice and felt lot more spanish.

The worst restaurant experience in Munich. Unfriendly service (you should understand if a drink you ordered doesn't arrive; after all, you shouldn't order drinks in the middle of the night, as things can get lost...), the food was anything but typical tapas, and most of it tasted bland. The highlight was that after taking our order and waiting for an hour, the food finally arrived, but unfortunately not for everyone. After another 10 minutes, the waitress noticed that something was missing and returned with the menu, as the kitchen had just informed her that the dishes were unfortunately no longer available. That was my last visit to El Perro; I can only warn against this restaurant!

Highly recommended! I'm usually a tapas skeptic, but I came here with friends and was completely won over! Super delicious tapas that will fill you up. From classics to special variations, everything was spot on! Super friendly service, even when it's busy! Also, the atmosphere is very nice! Definitely worth checking out if you want to try tapas in Munich!

As a Spaniard, I unfortunately found the food extremely unsatisfying. The simplest dishes were poorly prepared or frozen, and extremely expensive. The service and ambiance were okay.

Prices are too high. Service is unfortunately very poor. And the food is merely mediocre. We are very disappointed and will avoid this place in the future.

The food was very good, the service as well. We ordered the tapas menu for 2 and went for the surprise tapas. We were indeed surprised to be charged extra money for meat that we didn't actively choose and the extra cost was never mentioned by the service beforehand. Not sure we will go again.

This was our very first time eating tapas, so we weren't sure what to expect...like how much you need per person. The waitress was very friendly and helpful, and the food arrived very quickly and tasted amazing. We were thrilled. Highly recommended.

A really nice tapas bar with very nice service staff. Delicious tapas, good wine. One point deducted for the noise in the restaurant, but this cannot be changed due to the beautiful architecture. Allegedly. Luckily there wasn't any loud music playing 😉😘

Favorite and most authentic place in Munich for Spanish tapas and a lovely Spanish cerveza. I can recommend the tapas variation (ask for it, since it’s hidden on the menu) where you get some warm and cold tapas for a very reasonable price. Recommended!

Great tapas shop with great service and incredibly delicious food

Der Spanier bietet ein tolles Ambiente, wie eine Tapasbar im Urlaub. Freundlicher und schneller Service mit viel guter Laune. Die Tapas Auswahl ist sehr frisch und lecker. Sogar Paella gibt es für eine Person. Direkt am Ostbahnhof gelegen, also sehr gut mit den Öffis zu erreichen. Dann darf es auch ein leckerer Wein aus dem guten Angebot sein. Kurzurlaub in Spanien - direkt vor der Haustür! Beim nächsten Mal kommen wir mit Freunden.

I live here and am often in Spain. What the kitchen and the crew offers here is incredible. It couldn't be better. Essen, vibes and hospitality are phenomenal.

Very bad! Two wrong orders for dinner for two. The drink was wrong and an additional tapas was served. We accepted the wrong drinks, but the waitress simply asked us if we wanted to keep the extra dish - without any apology! We refused the dish and had it returned, but it was still on our bill! The tapas came quickly, but the peppers weren't cooked properly. The meatball was not warm. And we had to wait another whole hour for the paella! The table next door had ordered around the same time and received their food much quicker. We also didn't like the paella at all. The rice was way too hard.

I've been to this restaurant before and had a really good experience. This time not so much. The staff did their best but were very understaffed. The food, was sad. Just nothing hit the spot they didn't have two of the most popular dishes and everything tasted bland and unsatisfying. It was a disappointment but maybe next time

El Perro is one of the best restaurants in Munich! You can eat and drink very well! The employees and the innkeepers are very nice and accommodating! Been going there for decades! Celebrated many family celebrations here and were always very satisfied! What I can't join the senior group! The cocktails and wines etc. are excellent! Prices are reasonable for the quality! We have been guests for almost 30 years, but the mixed drinks such as Caipirinha or Mai Tai have become so miserable, and not worth the price, that we have decided not to visit this restaurant anymore. Very unfortunate. The senior group.

The food tastes very good, but if someone wants real authentic Spanish food, this isn't really the right place. The tapas have a somewhat German interpretation, for example the normal Spanish specialty croquettas is only available with sweet potato filling and not the real classic with jamón. However, the interior is very authentic and there is also nice seating outside.

I think it is the worst Spanish food restaurant in Munich without a doubt. I went yesterday with some friends for a birthday and was quite disappointed. The squid had no flavor, the croquettes with ham (which the waitress recommended to us) was a sweet potato croquette and bacon on top, and the meatballs were nothing more. The patatas bravas with aioli were delicious, that's true. The best is a liter of sangria for €30, which is rancid on top of that. I will not return, a shame because Spanish food is not like that.

Overpriced tapas in very small sizes. There is a lot more for the money at other tapas bars in Munich. My highlight were the 2 small lamb chops for almost €13 (!), which were really delicious. The rest was ok, but nothing special. It's very loud inside, you can hardly have a conversation. I often had to flag down the waiter to order something to drink, which was a bit tedious. It's a shame, we won't go there again.

Reserved tables are given away after 15 minutes after initially ignoring punctual customers. Went there 15 minutes later and waited 5 minutes until the lady stopped ignoring us. In the meantime we even asked a colleague who referred us to the same lady again. Tables in front of us were given to people who hadn't reserved. Then it was our turn to say we were too late now. Bad joke. Then not.

Some dishes are good, as are some drinks. Unfortunately, the tinto de verano isn't a good choice. If it's crowded, prepare your patience, it might take a while to get serviced...
