A wonderful place, opposite the Red House-museum. Unpretentious but...fresh great food, The daily menu surprised us with hot soup, cold salad, a large portion of pork belly and huge schnitzels, freshly prepared with fresh mushrooms or with the famous "Monchau mustard sauce". Excellent service and friendly welcome, and the food was delicious.

The cafe was just opening when we arrived. They had no potatoes so dishes with potatoes were out of the question. We had goulash soup and pasta with mushrooms and mustard sauce as well as spaghetti carbonara. The food was tasty and hot.

Very nice and rustic restaurant. Of course, schnitzel or steak with the Monschau mustard sauce is definitely recommended! We had the pork seaks with mustard sauce. The steaks were very tender and easy to eat and the mustard sauce tasted excellent. There were also thick, crispy Belgian fries that also went very well with the mustard sauce. The menu also included a very tasty and surprisingly generous starter salad. We were more than full. We sat outside here, although there aren't too many seats here - which means you can have some peace and quiet and watch what's going on in the center of Monschau. Clear recommendation!

A family run restaurant, very friendly. They speak German, English, French, Italian and Lebanese. The food portions were quiet big and all the dishes are tasty. I highly recommend Eifelstübchen, one of the best restaurants in Monschau.

Yesterday we had dinner in the Eifelstübchen. After a long day of hiking. Unfortunately we didn't find the taste of the food good. Drinks Radler or Bit Burger fresh from the barrel were anything but good, there was far too little pressure on the barrels so the beer didn't taste good. The table we were given was pretty sticky, tables weren't set for guests. We were handed the cutlery and that was it. We ordered different dishes to eat. The schnitzel was dry, the sauces weren't homemade either. Except for the salad, which was pretty simple, it wasn't really tasty. The price was a bit expensive for such a preparation. But tastes are different. We cannot recommend the Eifelstübchen, more of a chip shop than a restaurant. It's a shame but all the best anyway.

I quite like the food, just one comment: way too much! For someone who only has a small stomach, that is TOO much :D You can park your car within walking distance in a covered parking lot.

We were there for the first time at the beginning of our vacation and were immediately blown away by the rustic atmosphere and the delicious dishes! Schnitzel “Monschauer Style” with mustard sauce. I had never heard of it before, but it was really tasty. Although you usually wait a while, it's also because the schnitzels are being freshly made, which you can also hear, which makes you look forward to eating them all the more. In addition to the soup of the day (which we ordered as a “2-course menu” with the schnitzel), there was also a small salad included, which should also shorten the waiting time. ☺️ Requests were taken into account and the family atmosphere simply rounded everything off so that we went back again on the penultimate day of our vacation. Thank you for the lovely hours!

Nothing about this place is appealing. Food tasted like it was frozen then microwaved. Decor is like a bad diner. Smelled like some sort of gas inside. Plenty of other options in town, except on Sunday which is the only reason I came here.

A very nice old restaurant, but with a modern structure and still has that flair of Monschau's old town, the food was great, the fries were nice and crunchy and the schnitzel with the typical Monschau mustard sauce was a delight for the palate. The staff was very friendly, the beer was very good. We can definitely recommend the restaurant.

Unfortunately, the schnitzels were disappointingly heavy and greasy with sauce overload what drowned out all of the flavours. Fries didn't taste like traditional potato fries, they were probably taken straight from the freezer. The salad was, well, just salad. Greens with sauce that was the star here too (not mentioned in the menu). Despite these culinary missteps, I must commend the staff. They were exceptionally friendly and attentive. I appreciate the warm service. :)

Schnitzel with Monschau mustard was very tasty!

We were there as a family and were really more than positively surprised. For under €20 you can get potato soup and a delicious and fresh salad as a starter. The main course for me was a pork loin steak with Bearnaise sauce and fries, which was lovingly prepared and generous. The waiting time wasn't long either. The staff was super friendly and accommodating. The family business is highly recommended, we are already looking forward to our next visit!

The pork steak with mustard sauce, a local specialty, is delicious. It comes with french fries so the portion is sufficient. Recommended if you want to feel the atmosphere of a simple German restaurant. Perhaps because it is close to the Bitburg area, the Bitburger beer felt fresher than other places!

Even if the furnishings were neither modern nor hip, the food, the service and a really unbeatable price of 17.90 for a starter soup, a super tasty schnitzel in the typical mustard sauce and a fresh, crisp salad... Although the waitress served alone, she had everything under control and was extremely friendly... We will definitely be back very soon and then we will eat our way through the entire menu...

Food was very nice, we had the Jägerschnitzel and schnitzel with mustard sauce, both came with a soup on the house and a salad. Very cozy/comforting food. The staff was also very friendly and accommodating. We were there during a period of very cold weather and snowfall, so it was quite chilly inside! Prices were very reasonable, for two meal sets + two beers we paid around 45-50 euros.

Wir waren während des Weihnachtsmarktes in Monschau und hatten nicht reserviert. Trotzdem wurden wir freundlich begrüßt und wir, wir waren 4 Personen, bekamen einen Tisch zugewiesen mit dem Hinweis das der Tisch für 18⁴⁵ reserviert wäre. Da wir erst 17⁰⁰ hatten war das für uns kein Problem. Die Getränke wurden schnell serviert und auch unser Essen kam recht zügig. Wir waren ausnahmslos zufrieden. Geschmacklich und Mengenmäßig gab es nichts zu bemängeln. Für uns, wenn wir mal wieder in Monschau sind sichtlich einen zweiten Besuch wert.

Essen Bratwurst mit Sauerkraut und Roesti plus Salat. Bratwurst war maximal unterdurchschnittlich. Rest okay bis gut. Preis zu hoch, Portion gerade okay, Getränke waren gut. Bedienung war sehr nett. Hunde sind erlaubt. Durch die Bedienung noch vier Sterne.

Gelukkig hadden we in de loop van de middag gebeld om te reserveren. Alles vol maar als we om 17 .00 uur kwamen moest het lukken. Zeer vriendelijk te woord gestaan en ze deden echt hun best om te helpen. Tijdens ons diner kwamen zeer veel toeristen langs om te eten, maar ze zaten ram-vol. Als vooraf kregen we een gezonde salade. Prima vers en fris. Ook het hoofdgerecht kwam vlot en was goed heet. Heerlijke snitzel gegeten en een grote portie hete frietjes erbij. De uiterst vriendelijke dame deed alles om je naar het zin te maken. Met een glimlach dus helemaal top. Kortom een echt Duits restaurant met goede kwaliteit en dito prijs. Een aanrader in Monchau

The beer was warm. The wiener schnitzel was greasy and soggy. We received our salad 15 mins before the wiener schnitzel.. Beautiful view tho!

Uriges kleines Restaurant in der Altstadt. Für das Essen müsste man eher 3,5 Sterne geben - nicht atemberaubend aber völlig okay. Das Personal ist durchweg freundlich und die Preise sind angemessen.

Sehr rustikales, aber gemütliches Restaurant mit deftiger lokaler Küche. Hier gibt es beispielsweise Gerichte mit Monschauer Senfsoße. Für Vegetarier gibt es hier eine eher geringe Auswahl. Die Gerichte sind einfach und die Qualität ist ok.

Tasty and fast friendly service

Das Essen war zwar lecker, aber ansonsten keine gute Erfahrung. 1. Keine Kartenzahlung, nicht zeitgemäß, vor allem in einem touristischen Ort. 2. Das Innere ist wirklich sehr in die Jahre gekommen. 3. Für Ketchup und Mayo muss man extra bezahlen, habe ich so noch nie in einem Restaurant gesehen. 4. Die Schnitzel sind ziemlich klein, im Vergleich zu anderen Restaurants.

We faced a bad experience at this restaurant.. the waitress was extremely rude and arrogant to a simple question/request asked by us. Honestly, there was no need for this kind of passive-aggressive behavior. Such mannerless behavior by the restaurant staff spoiled our whole meal experience. It's not so difficult to be polite. You really need to learn some manners and then work in the restaurant industry.

Food was good, behaviour was not. Please teach your young waitress how to behave with customers. If customer is impatient, you can ask them to wait politely instead of making passive aggressive statements. This kind of behaviour can ruin the meal which is what happened with us. Hope you do better in future.

Super leckeres Essen, große Portionen und netter Service. Auch ohne Reservierung einen Tisch bekommen, weil wir früh genug waren, später am Abend würde sich eine Reservierung auf jede Fall lohnen. Die Enrichtung ist schon etwas älter, aber der nette Service und das Essen machen dies auf jeden Fall wieder wett.

Het eten was goed maar niet goed genoeg om 5 sterren te geven. Het personeel was heel vlot en vriendelijk, mevrouw hielp ons snel verder. Qua sfeer was het wat minder omdat er ouders met luidruchtige kinderen aanwezig waren, dit de tafel naast ons. Betaling is enkel via Cash, dit kan vandaag de dag niet meer door de beugel!

Bier vom Fass war leider zu warm
