Damn good food! Next-level friendly staff and a wonderful atmosphere!

We went in February 2025. The food, the atmosphere, the conversation were unforgettable. We stumbled upon this place and it left us with unforgettable memories that will last a lifetime.

This is German culture. Authentic German cuisine. No extra seasoning needed. 70s ambiance. Great staff and plenty of food to fill you up. Fantastic sauces. We drive 200km round trip. We've been here twice already. We'll be back for a third time in December and are already looking forward to it. Go to the Eifel!

It was a Bavarian week. The food was excellent, and finally, a brave restaurateur. The portions were generous, the prices fair, and the quality top-notch. The service was prompt and reliable. Highly recommended.

The lady of the house was super friendly, fond of children, and above all, very attentive. We were greeted by name right from the start (she had remembered it from the reservation), the children were given something to draw, and were given special children's plates and napkins. We really liked the rustic ambiance! It made you feel at home right away. The food was fantastic. We had schnitzel, and it was freshly prepared, perfectly seasoned, and cooked to perfection. The side dishes were also delicious. We can't understand the bad reviews at all and are glad we didn't let them deter us. Thank you for a wonderful evening. We'll definitely be back again.

The staff seemed a bit stressed. It was "Oktoberfest" themed week; the meatballs were still cold inside, as if frozen. The dish was heated upon request. The dumplings were okay, but the Bavarian cabbage was blandly seasoned.

Hello everyone We were guests at the Eifeler Hof for the fourth time now. We were served by Ms. Renate today, but all the staff were extremely friendly and polite. Our dog 🐕 was taken care of immediately, and water was provided immediately, etc. The food is of high quality. The portions are plentiful and superb. 😋 delicious. Yesterday, four of us went there for dinner. It was Oktoberfest. The menu sounded good. However, we didn't enjoy it. The 80s-style decor with plastic flowers on the table didn't help cheer us up either. We won't be eating there again.

We were there during the Bavarian Oktoberfest weeks. The ambiance was appropriately decorated, and the staff were dressed to impress. The restaurant is very quaint, so you immediately feel at home. The Bavarian festival food was amazing. The Munich Haxn (pork knuckles) were generously sized and tasted top-notch – shout-out to the kitchen. The staff was very attentive and pleasant, which isn't the norm.

Six of us were there during the "Bayern Wochen" (Bavarian Weeks). The pork knuckle and pork knuckle were fantastic, but the wait was long, which we'd accept because it was really good. The staff were a bit overwhelmed (but still friendly). Unfortunately, the food came in dribs and drabs, so we couldn't eat together.

First the positives: the food and drinks were fine. But the service… extremely rude, and not just to us. We saw other guests roll their eyes as well. Ultimately, that created a kind of bond that made the waitstaff forget about it. Not recommended with this level of service.

Too expensive and unfriendly. I can't recommend the Eifeler Hof. It opens and closes as the owner pleases. Although the kitchen is open until 9 p.m. (according to the notice board), you are rudely asked to leave upon entering at 7 p.m. Tables were free and not reserved. We were lucky the third time, but were disappointed. The wait time for ordering, food, and payment was very long. Service was snippy and the prices were exorbitant. The outdoor area looks dingy, with paper tablecloths, spilled tables, stained beer mats, and overflowing beer glasses. Cocktails are "spilled together" on the shelf in the passageway, and with wheat beer, you forget to shake up the yeast altogether. The menu is manageable, and some dishes are "sold out." The black pudding with mashed potatoes was good, but overpriced at €13.50.

My wife ordered a half schnitzel because she wasn't as hungry. I ordered the regular schnitzel. Two schnitzels of the same size arrived. I spoke to the waitress, and she argued. The chef had weighed it, and my schnitzel would have been thicker. Complete nonsense. The food was okay, but not much. The service was snippy and unfriendly!

Yesterday, we ate at the Eifeler Hof with 5 adults, 1 8-year-old child, and a 13-year-old teenager. The ambiance is rustic and very cozy. The service is great, very competent, friendly, helpful, and fast. The food was exceptionally good and very tasty!! Our teenager loved the fresh trout, and we absolutely loved the Viennese veal schnitzel with wild mushroom sauce and pork schnitzel with paprika sauce!! Everything was freshly prepared, and the salad was also really good!! Every special request regarding the menu was happily accommodated!! Even our two dogs each received a bowl of fresh water and a treat without asking!! We enjoyed it so much that we went back with our guests today!! Today, among other things, we had pork loin steak, which was lean, super tender, and delicious!! Unfortunately, our camping weekend trip is over. But when we're back in Heimbach, we'll definitely eat here again!! We highly recommend it!! Many thanks again to the service and kitchen staff!!

Phew, where do I begin? Ambience: A hopeless jumble of decorations with plastic flowers everywhere and paper tablecloths in the middle of a rustic oak hell. Food: The wine was very good, the food okay, but overall disappointing. The mustard sauce had a very strange hint of sweetness, the pork was dry, and I suspect the potato pancakes came from a packet, the mushrooms from a can? Service: I would have liked to have swapped the conditions. At the entrance, we first met a very nice woman, but we ended up with someone else who seemed like she'd rather be somewhere else. Understandable, perhaps, but as a guest, I don't want to experience that. But at least there weren't long waits.

Excellent food in a rather rustic atmosphere. One waiter very friendly, the other waitress unfortunately a little irritable when dealing with children. However, waiter number one was largely able to make up for this.

A very nice recommendation for a tasty refreshment after a day at the Rursee! We were immediately greeted by friendly staff and given a table in a covered outdoor area, which was quaint and rurally decorated in keeping with the Eifel region but well-coordinated. It could have been a bit more open, but that's just nitpicking; there are also seats right in front of the restaurant under the open sky. Our orders were taken promptly by a courteous gentleman and carried out 100% correctly. There was hardly any wait for the drinks or the food. The drinks arrived after about 3-5 minutes and about 15 minutes later the food arrived, which was really excellent quality and a real treat for us. The selection of dishes is varied but still clear and there was something for everyone. I had a very good, wafer-thin Wiener Schnitzel (veal) with fries and cranberries, which I can definitely recommend. The breading was almost perfect and came off nicely. One of my highlights was an excellent mustard sauce that was served with one of my friends' pork loins. I've never eaten anything like it before, but the taste was absolutely amazing and more than convincing. To top it all off and was my personal highlight of the stay, there was a cherry cheesecake for dessert. In my 25 years of life, I have never had the chance to eat such a perfect, creamy and moist cheesecake with cherries, and this piece of cake alone is more than enough reason to visit this lovely restaurant when you're in the area. It may be high in calories, but the taste experience with this piece of cake will quickly make you forget the calories! All in all, a very pleasant stay and a restaurant where almost everyone can find something for themselves!

Six of us went there for dinner. The service was quite good and friendly. Because the restaurant was very busy and staffing levels were apparently a bit limited, we had to wait a long time for our food, despite having a reservation. Fortunately, it was delicious.

The burgers are unusual but tasty. The salad is standard. The standard beer gives you a headache. This also loses a point because it doesn't communicate what's being served and what alternatives are available. The prices for some items are borderline excessive, as side dishes are extra.

Here you'll find authentic, home-cooked food made with fresh ingredients. It's a bit more expensive, but the quality is excellent, with no convenience products. A rustic and cozy atmosphere both inside and out. The service is also very friendly. It's worth a stop if you're driving through Heimbach and hungry. Homemade cakes are also available.

We can 100% recommend the “Eifeler Hof am Rursee”. We discovered this restaurant by chance and were very impressed with the menu. We ordered the May trout, a roast and the omelette. The food was very fresh and really tasty. We also found the country beer to be very tasty. The country lady-style cakes are also recommended. Both the cherry cheesecake and the strawberry rhubarb cake were very tasty. We have never had such a good strawberry rhubarb cake. Big praise also goes to the really friendly and attentive service team. We felt very comfortable as guests and will definitely come back despite the long journey.

We had an excellent dinner here, there were also regional products on the menu. The Eifel blood sausage was a work of art, as was the trout. The desserts were also all special, the brat pudding with walnut ice cream and plums was more than tasty.

After a while we returned there again. Been there several times before, including for a birthday. And it just so happens, we always had reliably good food there. Even now, when the others have almost closed down or could only serve food from the deep fryer, there was a wide range of good quality food on offer.

Goed eten, leuke sfeer. Voelt alsof je bij een oude oma aan tafel schuift zo het is aangekleed. Je krijgt goede porties voorgeschoven en er is veel keus uit typisch Duitse gerechten. Er wordt goed rekeninggehouden met allergieën.

I can't say anything about the food and the service, as we were fobbed off with "no more food" shortly before 1 p.m. today, on a Saturday. Kitchen supposedly from 11:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Reason: The cook has already got everything full of orders and there's nothing left. Sad service, especially extremely unfriendly and inexplicable. The “beer garden” (covered terrace) was only half full. The store won't see us again.

We had a delicious meal thanks to the friendly staff who were willing to serve us at the last minute. Large schnitzels with delicious fries and of course a delicious Weizen!

We were here twice in winter. Opening times are quite limited during these months. However, the menu is not and there is still a weekly menu with around 10 additional dishes. And if you ask, there is always something that is not on the cards. Vegetarian dishes are offered. The food so far has been excellent, a reasonable portion, very tasty and perfectly priced. If you can't get something, you can pack it up to take away. We were served very friendly, there is always time for a chat, hikers are welcome. There is a very pleasantly tempered local beer on tap, a tea and wine list, as well as local brandies and of course the usual alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. Everything seems very rustic and cozy, we have only sat inside so far, I can't say anything about the comfort of the benches outside. The toilets are in the courtyard, which is a little chilly in winter, but they are clean and well maintained. We paid both in cash and with an EC card. However, wheelchair users have no chance in this old building, as there are a few steps at the entrance. If you have walking difficulties and don't necessarily need to use a wheelchair, the staff is guaranteed to be helpful. I can't say anything about the parking situation since we arrive by public transport. In the summer I'm curious how crowded it will be, but I'll definitely want to come back several more times.

Went there with 6 people 6 months ago on the recommendation of my child. Service was lousy, the food wasn't tasty at all and it was way too expensive for what was on offer. Sehr leckeres Essen! Mein Hirschrollbraten war phantastisch, der Tafelspitz meiner Begleitung ebenfalls. Die Bedienungen war nett und freundlich. Bin jetzt zum zweiten Mal da gewesen und jedesmal war das Essen sehr gut.

Weihnachtskarte ist auf sehr typische weihnachtliche Speise gesetzte wie Wild und Gans/ kein normales Schnitzel nur Kalb an den Tagen zu Verfügung (ausgenommen Kinder ) Warmer Kartoffelsalat ist normal nicht heiß - geschmacklich mies - Kalbsschnitzel ok - wild ok Kinder -Menü sieht nicht grade appetitlich aus - Schnitzel/Pommes einfach auf den Teller geknallt - größeren Teller wählen - wäre von Vorteil gewesen (ordentlich Platz zum schneiden)

You shouldn't take the whole kitchen thing too seriously. After we placed our food order we were told 5 minutes later that the kitchen had just closed! It would open again in about an hour and only then could you order from the large menu. We gritted our teeth and accepted it and came back 60 minutes later. Now they say it will be at least half an hour before the kitchen opens! The service staff is not to blame for the situation, the kitchen apparently works according to its own clock. However, you are not allowed to move guests twice, at some point the goodwill will be used up.

We had a fantastic evening at the Eifeler Hof in Heimbach during the Bavarian Weeks. The food was simply outstanding - the knuckle was perfectly prepared, crispy on the outside and wonderfully tender on the inside. There was also freshly tapped Paulaner beer on tap, which rounded off the enjoyment perfectly. The atmosphere was cozy and the service was extremely friendly and attentive. An all-round successful evening! We will definitely come back and can recommend the Eifeler Hof without reservation.

Spent three days in the Eifel National Park. Made dinner reservations at the Eifler Hof on Sunday. Had a table waiting upon my arrival. Warmly greeted by the entire team. Geoffrey was my server and he was terrific. Enjoyed a delicious traditional Bavarian dish, some great beer (JW Augustiner Ur Dunkel on draft), and a huge helping of apple strudel to finish things up. Even got to meet the owner/chef Peter! The Eifler Hof is a must. Be sure to make reservations.

We (76/86) wanted to finally manage to get something to eat at the Eifeler Hof this year after last year Was turned away twice during opening hours, but no, nothing was available this time either. 30 minutes before the kitchen closes! The waitress was obviously uncomfortable, but we declined the drink that was offered.

Went there spontaneously on Sunday at 6:30 p.m. and wanted to eat. There were a few free tables inside and outside in the restaurant. Unfortunately we were turned away by two young employees because they were supposed to be closing early because they had to make preparations for an event next week. Will avoid this restaurant in the future!

Kwaliteit van eten was goed, maar het was erg basic (zonder groenten en/of sausje). Bij de schnitzel van mijn vrouw was het nog erger, want dat was alleen schnitzel met zestal aardappelkroketjes. Bediening was verder vriendelijk. Aanrader is een Eifeler Landbier van de tap. Reserveren is wel handig want het is niet zo groot en vaak wel druk.

The food was actually very tasty, if the order had arrived the way it was placed. My husband ordered a rib-eye steak with fresh chanterelles and it was served with herb butter. I had redfish with warm potato salad but got the dish with fries. Since there was no sauce with the steak, my husband ordered some ketchup for the fries, which was also charged extra. Maybe the service was stressful, but a customer shouldn't normally notice that.
