Edo in Weilburg

Were here for the first time and were very impressed. Only the lighting is a little unattractive, something you should think about when you get the chance. The lamps are really blinding when you want to have a conversation with the other person and don't necessarily want to shout at each other from a distance. The service is outstanding! We've never experienced anything like this before, very, very accommodating. Attentive. Friendly. The food was, we can't find words, it was so delicious. Rarely have I eaten such good Japanese food!

Good food and very good service!

I've ordered takeaway several times now. Staff is friendly. But now I have to change my review because the price-performance ratio is no longer right, it has become far too expensive. In other big cities the quality is better and the prices are lower.

Very authentic and excellent Japanese food and ambience. Absolute recommendation! However, it is very expensive, but justified by the quality.

The starter, we had the Edo tapas for two people, was very nicely prepared and also tasted great. Unfortunately, our main courses Sushi Chef's Tip and Kamo-Kamo were rather disappointing. Not nearly as lovingly prepared and my wife's end was not properly cooked through and was tough, we complained about this accordingly, the cellar lady took the plate away and brought it back after about 5 minutes, the duck was then really fried and tender, unfortunately both the rice and the side vegetables were cold, we would have liked them to at least be warmed again or even made new. The Sushi Chef's Tip was good but I would have expected much more for the price. For dessert we had Edo sweet dream for 2 people. This consisted of 4 very small half pieces of mochi ice cream, something like fruit (2 pieces of apple, a small piece of orange, 2 small pieces of melon and 4 small currants), a glass of panna cotta and 2 small pieces of dorayaki cake, which was warm but unfortunately very dry. The drinks are extremely expensive at €4 for a small 0.33l cola and €7 for a small homemade lemonade. The lemonade was good but absolutely not worth the price as it was very syrupy. All in all, we paid a total of €127, which we felt was way too expensive for what was on offer. All in all, we both think that the price and performance are not right here. It's a shame because the reviews here promise much more.

It is a small, minimalist/modern restaurant with Japanese influences and could seem sterile, which is continued with calm music. I ordered tea and found the pot and cup, which were decorated with a traditional floral pattern, very beautiful. The food was wonderful, the best sushi of my life. There was a relatively good price for the performance. The food was beautifully presented, like in a star restaurant and the ingredients, namely caviar on the sushi, were reminiscent of that. The service was great, we were there for my birthday celebration and they had decorated extensively to suit the occasion.

Phenomenal food with a very good price-performance ratio. Fantastic quality of the fish. Staff very friendly and really quick. The place is nicely decorated, but the focus is on good food and not on staying for a long time, as it almost always seems to be fully booked and therefore has meal slots of 2 hours, which is absolutely understandable.

If I had to describe my visit to Edo Sushi Restaurant with just one word, it would be: exorbitant. From the cozy atmosphere that made you feel like you were sitting in a tree, to the quick service and the amazing taste experience. The food arrived in just 10 minutes, something I've never experienced before given the quality and variety of restaurant food. To say our one-hour stay with Edo's sushi masters was a short trip would be an understatement, because the food here not only stirs the stomach but also the mind. A hit in terms of taste and a new definition when it's time to say "let's go shred sushi".

Great food - the best sushi nearby 🍣 For two people each we had the Edo tapas as a starter and Edo Surprise as the main course, with cool Riesling - everything was just delicious. Very fast and friendly service. Nice atmosphere, just a bit small and cramped.

So Weildorf doesn't give the impression of being the center of international cuisine. But the Edo exceeds all expectations, even if you come from more densely populated areas. The reservation is made online, the service is warm and very attentive (if you drop a napkin and you don't notice it, a fresh one just arrives) and the food is SENSATIONAL. We had the menu and everything from soup to sushi was top notch. 100% must do in Weilburg

I have never had sushi prepared so beautifully!! The eye definitely eats with it. 😍 The sushi as well as the miso soup and the mochi were a dream! Simply amazingly delicious!! The staff is super nice and the location is also very cozy. What I think is particularly good is that little furry friends are also allowed in the restaurant. ☺️

Unfortunately no recommendation. The sushi looks nice, but unfortunately the price-performance ratio is not right at all. The rolls are small and the quality of the fish definitely doesn't match the prices, which are already completely exorbitant. For half the price it would be acceptable sushi.

Very disappointing! I haven't been there for a while, the sushi here used to be incredibly good. The sushi rolls are no longer as tasty, they are significantly smaller and the prices are disproportionately high. For 25 euros (see picture) plus 7.50 euros for a bottle of water, I paid a total of 32.50 euros without really feeling full or having a special taste experience. The price-performance ratio is absolutely not right. It's a shame that the restaurant has developed in this direction.

We visited here for the first time today and were very happy with the entire experience. The food tastes excellent, sashimi-quality tuna is sensational as a starter, and the main courses are presented spectacularly with smoking dry ice. The homemade lemonade is a blast. What can I say that hasn't already been said? Friendly welcome without reservation. Were in Weilburg during the day and found the shop by chance. As big Asian fans, I also went there spontaneously because of the food. Even though it wasn't our time for dinner yet, the first entry on the food website made us curious. And this absolutely deserves it. As a starter there was coconut soup with plenty of ingredients. Plus kaarage with an incredible hot sauce. And really tender edamane. I had never had it so tender. The main course was chicken and duck. My chicken was thinly sliced ​​so that the marinade was always good to taste and the duck breast in the opposite dish was really tender and balanced. The additional sauce and vegetables were also very good and al dente. A highlight was also the dessert, which came with fresh fruit. Yes, fresh, really fresh. The mango was still so firm that it would actually have been better for it to lie around for two more days. But everything was so crunchy that even the firm mango went perfectly with the gentle, sweet dorayaki. This is then simply melted into the sweet dough and melted on the tongue. And on the topic of melting, the ice cream mochi were also super tasty. Many varieties, nice rice dough. The only point of criticism was the dorayaki, which seemed very fluffy and strong, perhaps a bit small compared to the quantity. But it's still enough as a dessert and served in a bowl with ice cream is a delicacy that you can enjoy little by little without losing much of the taste. We were so excited that we took sushi with us for the esc. After driving for about 100 minutes in a fairly warm car and standing for another 30-40 minutes, Partner's comment after the first bite of the fish was that it had no fishy taste. So everything still tasted very fresh. Even the unpopular tuna was given a new chance to inspire. It was a mystery box put together by the chef, who probably knows better which fish had the best flavor and not a bite has disappointed so far. Yes, the price is not that of a sushi bar or the discount, but if you really know what you're doing you can see how much effort goes into making the sushi. The cucumber maki alone, there is not one coarse piece of cucumber in it but many small strips that distribute the taste optimally in the mouth. Fresh and full-bodied in something as simple as cucumber is really not easy. Therefore, the prices for this devotion and taste journey are more than justified. 150 euros spent (with drinks), 150 euros that made us really full and happy. 150 euros that I would gladly leave back for a second helping. I still had the taste of the dorayaki in my mouth 30 minutes later on the drive home.

I was surprised to find a such a nice sushi restaurant in such a small town like Weilburg. The sushi I had was delicious and on par with the best sushi restaurants that I know in Germany.

Great young location. Food super tasty and wonderfully prepared. The young man in service was really a blessing. Quiet, attentive, and despite the full house, keeping an eye on his tables. The main course gets to the point, no matter how long it takes you to finish the super tasty starter. The only thing I was missing was the ventilation, as over time it got a bit stuffy in the back of the room. Online table booking is super awesome. Parking spaces nearby. All in all: GREAT

After repeated visits, it is increasingly one of our favorite restaurants. We like to eat here with the family, even if we have to travel a little further. Excellent food of a high standard and always super fresh, extremely polite and courteous service and a lovely ambience. Just a little more space in the slightly cramped restaurant would be great. Something like that would also be a great concept for Wetzlar and the Lahn-Dill district!

Very nice restaurant with excellent sushi. The taste is really great, but the prices are now very high. Unfortunately we didn't have any plates with liquid nitrogen. Habe mit einer Freundin ein leckeres Essen am 3. Advent genossen. Bislang das beste Sushi Lokal, das ich besucht habe. Preislich auf jeden Fall höhere Kategorie, dafür stimmt aber alles. Komme auf jeden Fall wieder.

Ich hatte kürzlich das Vergnügen, in diesem Sushi Restaurant zu essen, und ich war restlos begeistert! Das Essen war absolut köstlich, mit frischen Zutaten und einer großartigen Präsentation. Der Service war außergewöhnlich aufmerksam und freundlich. Das Ambiente im Restaurant schaffte eine entspannte und einladende Atmosphäre. Es war ein kulinarisches Erlebnis, das ich nicht so schnell vergessen werde. Dieses Sushi Restaurant verdient definitiv meine höchste Empfehlung!

Das Essen hat von der Vorspeise bis hin zum Nachtisch sehr gut geschmeckt. Die Bedienung war sehr freundlich. Wir holen seit Jahren unser Sushi hier und nun haben wir auch vor Ort gegessen. Sehr zu empfehlen!

Das beste japanische Restaurant in dem wir je waren. Die Gerichte werden mit viel Liebe und Können zubereitet und toll präsentiert. Zudem ist die Bedienung sehr freundlich und das Ambiente könnte nicht schöner sein. Wir hatten diverse Vorspeisen, Sushi-Platten, Udon-Nudeln sowie Dorayaki. Klare Empfehlung!
