Excellent 3-Course Menu & Outstanding Service The 3-course menu at the Hyatt Regency Düsseldorf was a culinary masterpiece – perfectly balanced in flavor, beautifully presented, and an overall magnificent experience. Our visit today began with us being greeted by a "security guard." His statements and questions seemed very pushy and dubious. As hotel guests, this was a definite drawback. Unfortunately, this has happened to him twice now, most recently in April. The food was exceptionally good. The waiters during our visit were attentive, and the atmosphere has improved significantly. If we hadn't received such a negative welcome, we would have returned!

Dox - A Temple of Gourmet Dreams! A week ago, we visited the fabulous Dox restaurant in Düsseldorf's Media Harbour. Where do I even begin? The restrooms alone were a masterpiece of design. Upon arriving at the restaurant, we were absolutely thrilled with the ambiance. All the staff were friendly and charming. For an appetizer, I devoured six oysters. They were so fresh, as if they'd just been pulled from the Rhine! For my main course, I ordered monkfish, which I'd only ever seen in horror movies. It turned out to be a perfectly normal fish. It certainly had little to do with the devil. My 10-year-old son devoured a 300g steak, and his older sister had lobster. We paired our meals with the best white wine the restaurant had to offer (all under €50, of course). For dessert, we all had vanilla ice cream. A truly wonderful evening in this exquisite gourmet palace.

I've been a regular here for years and have spent a lot of money here on numerous occasions. But the two bouncers, mid-40s, of southern European appearance, who were on duty quite often on Friday evenings, were incredibly rude. Especially the guy with the gray hair and ponytail. They aggressively told me, "Private event today" – "The way you look, that's what I look like when I wake up." Incredibly cheeky and disrespectful. When I replied, "Hey, that's not nice, I didn't say anything to you, and you're just discriminating against me," they became even more aggressive. That's just awful. Because of this, I've often decided against eating at the Hyatt, even though I could have come with my colleagues. It'll be a while before I feel like eating at your place again.

Disappointing and disrespectful – pure racial profiling Today, the two of us went to Dox. We're in our mid-twenties, both well-dressed, friendly, and experienced in the bar scene. We've been to practically every bar in Düsseldorf and the Media Harbour, as you can see from my Local Guide profile. That's why what we experienced today was so shocking. On the phone, we were politely assured that we could drop by spontaneously, as there was still space. Ten minutes later, we were at the entrance and were turned away by the bouncers without explanation. "Hotel guests only," which is complete nonsense. Especially brazen: We called again five minutes later and were told once more that we were welcome. This clearly shows that there was no objective reason for the refusal. For us, this was blatant racial profiling. We have rarely felt so uncomfortable and disrespected. Especially in an international hotel like the Hyatt, this kind of behavior is not only disappointing but also completely inappropriate. From now on, I will advise everyone to stay away from this place and openly share my experiences, because such behavior should not simply be tolerated.

Unfortunately, I have to say: At the entrance, you feel more like you're entering a club than a 5-star hotel. The "receptionists" seem more like bouncers from shisha bars or the red-light district, inappropriate, unwelcoming, and completely out of place for a hotel of this category. Such disrespectful and unprofessional treatment of guests is disappointing and simply unworthy of a hotel in Düsseldorf. There are plenty of restaurants and hotels in this city that still know what hospitality, decency, and style mean, but unfortunately, not here. I don't want to comment on the food; it's unnecessary!

This brunch at this price is outrageous. The food is mediocre, including 0.1 liters of alcohol, and each additional glass is charged extra. Even a glass of Coca-Cola isn't included. I pay 45 euros for a child and have to pay extra for a scoop of ice cream. Never again.

There were three of us at the bar at 10:30 p.m., and we'd each just ordered a beer. At 10:45 p.m., the waiter came over and said it was the last round if we wanted to order anything else. The explanation given when we asked why Google said the opening hours were until 1 a.m. was that they start work at 5 p.m. and need another two hours to clean, so 1 a.m. would be OK. Absolutely ridiculous for a 5-star hotel!

Unfortunately, I have to correct my review from 2023. Prices are very high for the quantity and quality of the food offered. The staff is friendly. Unfortunately, despite only a few occupied tables, the wait was very long – we were in the restaurant for over 2 hours. Steaks weren't cooked as ordered. Table was not clean, stained, and greasy. The bench was just as dirty, as was the floor. You can book your room or be forced to pay by card; cash is no longer accepted. Apparently, no one cares about the "casual" dress code anymore, or it now means "flip-flops and a tank top"... At the entrance to the bar and restaurant area, there were two "doormen" of the "not friendly" type, probably because an event with a corresponding crowd was taking place in the next room. However, I still don't want to be looked down upon and asked in a commanding tone where I wanted to go and why... Two years ago, it was much better, has deteriorated considerably, but that applies to the entire hotel. Review from 2023 I was invited to a business lunch. The dishes served were all of excellent to very good quality. The steaks were cooked to perfection. The staff was very friendly and attentive. The dessert was the highlight. The quality and quantity of the food justifies the price. We would be happy to come back.

Dear Sir or Madam, Today around 8 p.m., we were turned away by the doormen in an extremely rude manner. The initial explanation was that it was a private event. However, we later discovered that numerous tables were available on OpenTable. We were also told that access on Fridays and Saturdays was reserved exclusively for hotel guests. This is particularly surprising, as I have already visited the bar on a Friday without being a hotel guest. What we didn't like at all was that we could only pay with credit cards. Cash is no longer accepted in the restaurant!! It's come to that in our country. 😱 Especially since we weren't informed about it beforehand. We later wondered what would have happened if we hadn't had a credit card? The last vestige of freedom in our country is being taken away from us. Therefore, this hotel restaurant is an absolute no-go for us! 😡

I was absolutely thrilled with the DOX Restaurant! The steak was cooked to perfection – juicy, tender, and full of flavor. The other dishes were not only culinary outstanding, but also beautifully presented – a true experience for all the senses. A particular highlight was the white chocolate ball with warm sauce – a dreamy combination of flavor and presentation. The location directly on the Rhine is simply unbeatable. You have a fantastic view of the water and the Düsseldorf skyline – especially beautiful at sunset. All in all, a thoroughly enjoyable evening. Highly recommended for anyone who wants to enjoy good food in a stylish setting with a great view.

Impossible! You arrive as a cyclist and want to take a short break in a beautiful location... A table was free, but there was a hat left there. The waiter said it must have been forgotten, the seat was free. We sat down, the great waiter stood around... No one asked if we wanted anything - eye contact was ignored! Luckily, I was able to use the luxurious, mirror-covered ceramics—sorry, granite—department. Much fun and enjoyment to the people who (want to) only appear beautiful on the outside. We met there yesterday for a business lunch, and it was my first time there. It was a pleasant atmosphere, beautifully decorated, and a relaxed atmosphere. My meal consisted of an excellent saddle of lamb served with mousse and black beans. Absolutely delicious! Dessert was a small tart with plums and sorbet. I recently visited the bar at the Hyatt Regency Düsseldorf and was unfortunately very disappointed with the service. I wanted to pay my bill in cash (which is quite common in Germany), but was told that cash payments were not accepted – without prior notice. Since I didn't have my card with me that day and only had cash, I was told in an inappropriately harsh tone that in such cases, they would even call the police. I was genuinely shocked. I immediately offered to pay the entire amount (over €30) in cash – including a generous tip. Instead of showing understanding, the situation was made unnecessarily unpleasant for me. In a hotel of this category, I would have expected a completely different level of professionalism and hospitality. Speaking of which: The food was also disappointing. The salad consisted of leaves, a few dry pieces of chicken, and was covered in a completely over-the-top sauce – neither tastefully nor visually acceptable for a restaurant of this class. The incident was not only unpleasant but also left a lasting negative impression. A real shame.

Two days ago, on the evening of June 25, 2025. Our visit to the DOX Restaurant was planned as a festive family occasion – including a rented private room and high expectations of ambiance, service, and quality. Unfortunately, this special evening was overshadowed by numerous, sometimes serious, shortcomings. Room Climate & Amenities The private room we reserved had no air conditioning, which was a real problem given the warm outside temperatures. Fans or other cooling options were completely missing – a major disappointment for a restaurant of this caliber. In addition, the jukebox in the room was broken, which made the atmosphere even more oppressive. Overall, the room seemed simply under-equipped – even the tablecloths were noticeably sparse. Service Experience – Unfortunately Disappointing We were particularly negatively affected by the service – unfriendly, expressionless, and tense. When the food was served, there was no salt on the table. It was only brought – with a delay – upon request. Even a simple trash can was not provided; We had to specifically request it. When we ran out of drinking water, we had to point it out ourselves and wait for a waiter. The service overall seemed awkward, unappealing, and lacked any personal touch. A particularly unpleasant experience was the handling of our meat order: Although our waiter, Andreas, asked each guest individually for their preferred doneness, six people's steaks were served incorrectly. I personally ordered medium-well, but received medium – inedible for me. The meat had to be completely recooked, which not only spoiled our appetite but also disrupted the meal's timing for everyone. Particularly annoying: Andreas initially wanted to serve all twelve guests their steaks medium-well, without consideration for personal preferences or the children present, who, as expected, are more sensitive. Surprise ruined Another factor that soured the evening was the originally planned surprise for a family member. Unfortunately, the receptionist revealed upon arrival that "everyone was already there," completely ruining the surprise – an annoying blunder that could have easily been avoided. Food & Ambience The food itself tasted okay, some of it even good. The ambiance of the restaurant itself is also very appealing – modern, stylish, with a view of the harbor. However, these positive aspects were largely overshadowed by the aforementioned shortcomings and the overall service experience. Conclusion Overall, we were very disappointed. Given the demands, prices, and Hyatt standards, the DOX Restaurant does not represent the upscale service we had hoped for and expected. The service ruined the entire evening. What a shame, because this evening was supposed to be a beautiful moment for our family. For the price and the setting, we should have expected professionalism, friendliness, and more attention to detail. Unfortunately, these expectations were not met.

But if I have to pay €170 for asparagus soup, a small beef fillet with asparagus and hollandaise sauce, two 0.2l wines, a bottle of water, and a double espresso, it's completely over the top. Where did you get the bar staff from? If I could, I'd even deduct stars! Extremely poor, uncoordinated service, even though it wasn't really busy. The worst part first: DOX no longer accepts cash—as far as we know, it's still an officially recognized form of payment. Especially with the clientele that occasionally dines here 😉, this could be a shot in the foot. Service was attentive but overwhelmed. We were charged for the wrong (more expensive) wine. No regular wheat bread available. Sarti Spritz unknown. Asked three times about Martini. My companion, like some here, has a Gourmet Club card, which only charges half for the meal, so we went there three times. I wouldn't go back for full price. Ambience okay, on the waterfront at the Media Harbor, parking in the parking garage—all nice, but it doesn't fully meet expectations. Food okay.

I've had my Gourmet Club card for 6 years now - for 6 years my cash was welcome. Now, on Mother's Day, my mother-in-law and I had to make the unpleasant discovery that cash is no longer worth anything here. It was all to no avail - they didn't want our cash anymore. Doxx only takes cards. Unfortunately, my wife had to get her card out of the car - then we stood at a terminal that wasn't working and the second terminal also took 10 minutes before we were FINALLY allowed to pay. Great shop, good food, great kids' corner - but with a cash ban, you feel a bit like a criminal when you have notes on you. We won't be renewing our Gourmet Club card. That's it, unfortunately.

Been there for the 10th time today. Was turned away at the door because the house guests have to be given priority today and there isn't enough space. I think it's okay that the bar wasn't full and I was still turned away in a suit. When we asked nicely on the way back from somewhere else if we could use the toilet for a moment, we were again turned away in a rather unfriendly manner and told that it wasn't a public toilet. After parking in the parking garage for 3 hours. Friendliness and service look different in a 5 star hotel. I'm used to better things.

Unfortunately disappointing – not at the level you would expect. We had made a reservation at the Docks Restaurant at the Hyatt Regency Düsseldorf and were looking forward to a special evening - unfortunately we were disappointed. When we arrived we had to wait a long time before we were even noticed. Despite reservations, we were ignored several times before someone took our order. The “Champagne” (Moët Ice) was particularly disappointing for a whopping €29 a glass – served with a sprig of mint instead of the usual fruit. It was said that there were no more there. Absolutely incomprehensible for a restaurant of this class and price category. Unfortunately, the service, presentation and overall experience did not meet our expectations. It's a shame - we would have expected much more professionalism and quality from a Hyatt restaurant (we are Hyatt members). Which is why we ended our stay there after the starter.

The club sandwich here is the best I've had at any restaurant I've been to! I enjoyed it for the first time two years ago and since then I've had to think about the incredibly intense taste and the orchestra-like harmonious consistency so often that I traveled to Düsseldorf especially for it today! There really isn't a sandwich like it anywhere! The chicken is fried until tender and juicy with reddish-brown, tender grill marks and spices that have penetrated perfectly through to the middle. The bacon is tender, crispy, roasted, not burnt but elegantly browned by heat, so that it perfectly complements the egg in consistency and smoky aroma, and fried in very aromatic oil. In most restaurants, the egg on the club sandwich is not seasoned. But this restaurant has its very own spice composition on the egg that goes perfectly with the spices of the chicken! The egg yolk is round, sunny yellow and buttery soft in the middle, the egg white is not slippery, but rather elegantly firm to the bite! When you pick up the first sandwich, it's warm like a sun-warmed stone, it holds together and doesn't fall apart because the skewers are placed so precisely in each quarter. At the first bite there is a tender union of the egg and meat layers with the freshest, crunchiest romaine lettuce heart that I know! Most restaurants use iceberg lettuce in the club sandwich, which tastes a bit bitter. But this romaine lettuce is delicious, sweet and fresh in taste! The salad dressing is wonderfully thick and perfectly combined in terms of taste, it is not slimy and does not soak into the chicken and the golden toast! I love this club sandwich!!!!!!!

We spent a wonderful evening at the DOX Restaurant & Bar – even with our little son! Despite the late time, we were warmly welcomed and felt completely at home. The food was excellent, the atmosphere stylish and pleasant, and the service outstanding. Here is a review based on my experiences: Title: Culinary enjoyment with a downer at the end Rating: ★★★☆☆ (3 out of 5 stars) Review: Our visit to the DOX HYATT Düsseldorf was a mixed blessing. The food was of excellent quality and the taste was a delight. The ambience of the restaurant also contributed to a pleasant evening. The decor was stylish and the atmosphere inviting. Unfortunately, the service spoiled the positive impression over the course of the evening. The later it got, the more careless the staff became. After our meal we had to wait over 40 minutes for the bill, which was extremely annoying. Conclusion: The Dox at the Hyatt Düsseldorf undoubtedly offers an excellent culinary experience in an appealing ambience. However, management should urgently work on the service to avoid such waiting times in the future. If the service is improved, this restaurant could be a top choice. Recommendation: * For: Lovers of good cuisine and a stylish atmosphere. * Not suitable for: Guests who value fast and attentive service, especially late at night. I hope this review helps.

Incredibly disappointing – no entry despite a reservation and a long journey We had made a special reservation for a birthday and traveled a long distance for it. However, at the entrance we were turned away by the newly hired security without any explanation. When we politely asked, we only received cheeky and disrespectful answers - sometimes even insulting and clearly sexist. Such behavior is absolutely unacceptable. If there are certain entry rules, these should be communicated clearly and professionally - but turning away guests for no reason despite reservations and being discriminatory at the same time is completely unacceptable. Very disappointing, we definitely won't be back and can't recommend this place to anyone!

Esto es en el Radisson y en el agua. Servicio maravilloso. Fuimos por el programa completo de bebidas, tres platos. Maravillosa comida, súper servicio. Wir hatten einen Tisch für 4 Personen um 19:30 Uhr am Fenster reserviert und diesen auch erhalten. Leider zog ein extrem kalter Wind durch die Fenster (Januar), sodass wir uns umsetzen mussten. Ein Tipp für den Winter: Plätze am Fenster vermeiden, da es dort sehr ungemütlich werden kann. Die Wartezeit für die Hauptspeisen war mit über einer Stunde (Ankunft um 19:30 Uhr, Hauptgang um 21:32 Uhr) deutlich zu lang. Zum Vergleich: Der Tisch neben uns, der zeitgleich eingetroffen war, hatte zu diesem Zeitpunkt bereits das Dessert beendet. Zwischen den Vorspeisen und den Hauptgängen lagen 65 Minuten, was definitiv zu viel ist. **Vorspeisen:** - Der Salat war frisch und lecker. - Das Tartar war geschmacklich gut, allerdings waren die Fleischstücke etwas zu grob geschnitten. Kapern, Silberzwiebeln und Toast fehlten. Stattdessen wurde ein kleines Brioche serviert. Auf Nachfrage wurde Toast nachgereicht. **Hauptspeisen:** - Der Octopus war so zäh, dass er nicht essbar war. Dies wurde anerkannt, und das Gericht wurde freundlicherweise nicht berechnet. - Das Hähnchen war geschmacklich gut, aber etwas trocken. - Das Fleisch war in Ordnung, jedoch über den gewünschten Garpunkt hinaus zubereitet. - Die Bohnen, die als „gebackene Bohnen“ auf der Karte standen, waren in fettigem Teigmantel frittiert. Dies war weder ersichtlich noch genießbar. Beide Portionen blieben unangetastet, wurden aber dennoch berechnet. - Das Trüffelpüree war geschmacklich akzeptabel, jedoch zu lange unter der Wärmelampe gestanden. - Der Spinat wurde stark übersalzen und kam erst gegen Ende der Mahlzeit an den Tisch. - Die Pommes waren gut. Die Beilagen wurden zudem vertauscht, was die Wartezeit zusätzlich verlängerte. **Service:** Der junge Kellner war sehr freundlich und bemühte sich, die Situation zu entschärfen. Der nicht essbare Octopus wurde von der Rechnung gestrichen, und wir erhielten als Entschädigung ein Glas Weißwein. Vielen Dank dafür. Allerdings wurden die unangetasteten Bohnen und der übersalzene Spinat dennoch berechnet. Auf das Dessert haben wir letztlich verzichtet. **Fazit:** Dies war unser dritter Besuch im Hyatt und im DOX. Das Ambiente ist nach wie vor sehr angenehm, aber die Qualität der Speisen entspricht leider nicht dem Niveau, das man bei einem Restaurant dieser Klasse erwarten darf. Die Endrechnung, nach Abzug des Octopus, belief sich auf 360 Euro – für diese Leistung ein unzureichendes Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis.

Das Dox-Restaurant punktete zunächst einerseits durch seine elegante Atmosphäre und andererseits durch den sehr freundlichen und aufmerksamen Service. Das Preisniveau ist zwar sehr hoch, jedoch stimmte die Qualität der von uns gewählten Speisen. Besonders angenehm ist der sogenannte „family-style“, der das problemlose Teilen der Vorspeise ermöglichte. Grandios war das „Steak au poivre“ mit den frei wählbaren Beilagen. Hier besonders zu empfehlen gebackene Zwiebelringe sowie geräucherte Pommes frites und Sauce Bearnaise.

The restaurant doesn't quite live up to expectations given the prices quoted. The dishes are well crafted. However, the portion size is manageable and you can/have to put together the side dishes. If you have a good appetite, the total price for dinner adds up to a considerable sum. Service was friendly but overall inattentive, with often long waits. In summary, the overall experience, including the price/performance ratio, was nothing but satisfactory.

I don’t know what the management is thinking, but this bar definitely needs improvement in staff training or hiring new employees. In places like a hotel with such a name, service should never be compromised. First of all, waiting for the menu, then placing an order, which took 40 minutes. They didn’t bring any snacks either. Moreover, when I asked for water with my cocktails, which is a standard practice in a good bar that cares about its guests, I was asked, “For drinking?” The atmosphere is amazing, beautiful, a classic bar with very pleasant and polite guests. However, cocktails priced at €17-20 are not worth the money because of the service.

The food was a disaster: first of all, old bread, bone hard, then a club sandwich with cheap toast, barely toasted with weak fries, plus an aqua panna for EUR 13. I have been regularly visiting the restaurant and bar at the Hyatt Regency Düsseldorf for 3 years and have always been satisfied. On September 14th However, I was turned away by three bouncers because I was apparently dressed too casually (chino, knitted sweater and clean sneakers). One of the bouncers also made an extremely disrespectful remark (“There are really hot babes here today”). As a long-time guest, this was shocking and inappropriate. My complaint at reception was not taken seriously and security even insulted me as I was leaving. Such behavior is unacceptable for a hotel of this class.

This is the second time I've looked online and seen that the restaurant is supposed to be open and you can supposedly come and eat. But then I get here and see that the restaurant is closed, everything is dark, and they have no respect for their customers at all. If the restaurant is closed, please state this on the website so you don't have to struggle through traffic to get here only to find the doors closed. Why is the sign turned off, too? This makes me really sad and angry. Since this is the second time this has happened to me, I'm only giving it one star this time so that they might learn to be more respectful to their customers.

great location, kind staff, good prices in relation to other restaurants in the vicinity, the only recommendation I'd have to the manager\staff reading this is remodeling the elevator entrance to make the corridor appear a bit more welcoming since when I went there last weekend after I got out of the elevator first thing I saw was the cleaning materials and two buckets with water and for a minute I was unsure if I'm not at the staff entrance or smt 😅
