Beste Küche mit Aussicht Die Sansibar by Breuninger bringt ein Stück Sylt mitten nach Düsseldorf. Im Kaufhaus Breuninger am Kö-Bogen trifft nordischer Charme auf urbanes Luxus-Shopping. Besonders schön ist die entspannte Atmosphäre mit Blick auf den Hofgarten. Auf der Karte stehen Klassiker wie frischer Fisch, Burrata, Austern und hochwertige Steaks. Auch die Weinkarte überzeugt mit großer Auswahl und viel Qualität. Der Service ist professionell, aufmerksam und angenehm unaufgeregt. Wer nach dem Shopping stilvoll essen oder einfach einen langen Lunch genießen möchte, findet hier eine der elegantesten Adressen der Stadt.

Immer wenn wir in Düsseldorf sind geht’s auch in die Sansibar, super Service, sehr feine Speisen schmeckt genauso wie auf Sylt!

Eigentlich sind wir Stammkunden. Das Essen ist wunderbar. Aber was uns heute passiert ist…. ich lege dem Kellner Trinkgeld hin und er sagt, ob das für die Klofrau wäre? 😳😳 das fand ich Mega arrogant. Werde ich damit erzogen, das ich das nächste Mal mehr gebe!? Nach einem schönen Essen so ein Spruch!! Das geht garnicht..

Wir haben die Düsseldorfer Sansibar nach ca. 2 Jahren am Samstag mal wieder besucht (wir sind meist sonntags in Düsseldorf, da ist ja leider geschlossen). Wir hatten Kabeljau (mit den "klassischen" Sansibar-Beilagen), Currywurst und Putenschnitzel. Der Fisch kann leider weiterhin nicht mit dem der "echten" Sansibar auf Sylt mithalten. Mir ist es ein Rätsel, warum es seit Jahren nicht gelingt, die düsseldorfer Köche mal zur Schulung nach Sylt zu schicken, wo wir seit Jahren ausschließlich perfekte Fische bekommen haben. Das Hähnchenschnitzel war absolut perfekt, die Beilagen (Rahmmöhren und Püree) fallen leider im Vgl. mit dem Original wieder deutlich ab. Die Currywurst war absolut sylttauglich, der Service perfekt.

Unbefriedigende Erfahrung, insbesondere mit dem Service. 1. Obwohl wir von Anfang an mitgeteilt hatten, dass wir zu fünft waren und an einem Vierertisch mit vier Stühlen saßen, wurde uns kein fünfter Stuhl gebracht. Wir fragten mehrere Kellner, aber es wurde kein Stuhl gebracht. Selbst als der Teller für das Kind kam, den wir erneut beim Kellner anfragten, fehlten Stuhl, Glas, Besteck und Teller. Das Kind blieb stehen. (Der Kinderspielbereich ist ausgezeichnet.) Das Kind blieb stehen, bis wir aufstanden und den Kellner, der uns bedient hatte, baten, uns einen Stuhl zu bringen. Essen: Im Vergleich zu anderen Besuchen war es viel salziger, der Salat war in Soße ertränkt. Vielleicht lag es an den Feiertagen. Die Kaffeetasse war schmutzig; man konnte noch die Kaffeereste vom vorherigen Kaffee im Inneren des Deckels sehen. Ein Kellner war sehr unhöflich und der Service insgesamt kühl. Nach einer halben Stunde hatten wir noch nicht einmal unsere Vorspeise bekommen. Nachdem wir nach dem Zustand unserer Gerichte gefragt hatten, wurden uns Vorspeise, erster und zweiter Gang gleichzeitig serviert. Ich weiß nicht, ob das hier in Deutschland anders gehandhabt wird … Zumindest war es an den anderen Tischen nicht aufgefallen, dass sich alle Gerichte auf einem Tisch gestapelt hatten.

Phantastisches Essen, besonders angenehm ist der Service, insbesondere Kinder werden sehr gut behandelt, meine Tochter ist echter Fan! Weiter so!

Die vegane Currywurst war lecker, gerne wieder

Unser Besuch in der Sansibar Breuninger Düsseldorf war leider sehr unangenehm. Wir wollten lediglich kurz einen Kaffee trinken und dafür an der Bar stehen, da das Restaurant sehr voll war und wir keinen Tisch benötigten. Der Service war sichtbar gestresst, jedoch rechtfertigt das nicht den Umgangston. Besonders negativ fiel auf, dass ein Mitarbeiter mich körperlich anfasste und in den Wartebereich zurückschob. Dieses Verhalten ist unprofessionell und respektlos. Nachdem wir uns entschieden, das Lokal zu verlassen, wurde dies noch mit der Bemerkung „Das ist auch besser so“ kommentiert. Von einem Restaurant dieser Klasse erwarte ich einen deutlich respektvolleren Umgang

Gehe hier sehr gerne hin. Großzügige Speisekarte, meist relativ flotter Service und super Lage. Essen war bisher immer sehr gut bis hervorragend. Reservierung empfohlen.

Sansibar Breuninger in Düsseldorf überzeugt optisch, bleibt geschmacklich aber deutlich hinter den Erwartungen zurück. Der Apfelkuchen wirkte eher durchschnittlich und erinnerte eher an Massenware als an eine hochwertige Patisserie, während die zwei Cappuccino geschmacklich flach und wenig aromatisch waren. Trotz des schicken, aufwendig designten Ambientes wirkt das Preis‑Leistungs‑Verhältnis unausgewogen, da die gebotene Qualität nicht zum hohen Preisniveau passt. Manko: An dem Besuchstag war deutlich zu wenig Personal im Einsatz, was zu spürbarem Stress im Servicebereich führte und sich auf Aufmerksamkeit und Wohlfühlfaktor auswirkte. Besonders ärgerlich ist, dass das konsequente High‑Level‑Design des Kundenbereichs in krassem Gegensatz zu der eher durchschnittlichen Qualität von Kuchen und Kaffee steht. Fazit: Insgesamt ein solider Stopp für eine kurze Kaffeepause in stilvollem Umfeld, wenn man primär Wert auf Atmosphäre legt. Wer jedoch für Premium‑Preise auch einen entsprechenden Premium‑Geschmack erwartet, wird hier eher enttäuscht und findet in Düsseldorf bessere Alternativen.

Heute Mittag zum ersten Mal die Sansibar bei Breuninger in Düsseldorf besucht. Das Lokal macht sofort einen guten und einladenden Eindruck. Das Essen war sehr lecker und die Mitarbeiter waren sehr freundlich. Besonders empfehlenswert waren die Trüffel-Pommes. Aber auch die Ente als auch der vegetarische Teller konnte überzeugen. Wer Lust und Zeit hat, sollte auf jeden Fall dort mal einkehren. Gestern 10.01.2026 waren wir wieder da, es war wieder ein positives Erlebnis. Diesmal gab es Kalbs-Bolognese, Spaghetti, grünes Pesto und Rote Bete Ravioli mit Spitzkohl und Apfel Chutney. Ich kann es nur empfehlen, es war sehr lecker und die freundlichen Mitarbeiter boten wieder einen perfekten Service.

Hier bezahlen Sie den Namen gleich doppelt mit: Breuninger und Sansibar. In beiden Betrieben gibt es das Gleiche was es auch anderswo gibt, nur eben viel teuer. Die Speisen sind qualitativ in Ordnung aber völlig überteuert. Sterne Küche Preise für convenience food Gastronomie, das ist nicht in Ordnung.

Super Lage, freundliches Personal, gute Preise im Vergleich zu anderen Restaurants in der Umgebung. Meine einzige Empfehlung an die Geschäftsleitung/das Personal wäre, den Aufzugseingang etwas umzugestalten, damit der Flur einladender wirkt. Als ich letztes Wochenende dort war, sah ich nach dem Aussteigen aus dem Aufzug als Erstes Putzmittel und zwei Eimer mit Wasser und war mir einen Moment lang nicht sicher, ob ich am Personaleingang war oder so. 😅

Man glaubt es kaum in der Vorweihnachtszeit ist das Lokal halb leer. Aber man darf nicht rein. Wie früher in der DDR. Leeres Lokal, aber man muss warten bis man platziert wird. Nach 20 Minuten Wartezeit gehen die ersten Wartenden. Die Sansibar scheint in der aktuelle. Wirtschaftlichen Lage als eines der wenigen Lokale keine Probleme zu haben. So kann man auch mit Gästen umgehen

Das vegetarische Risotto von der Tageskarte ist wirklich jedes Mal ein Volltreffer, wirklich absolute Spitzenklasse. Service auch super und Preise völlig in Ordnung für die tolle Qualität. Wir kommen jetzt öfters, ein echter Geheimtipp in Düsseldorf.

Service am 22.12. um 13:00 Uhr an der Frontbar und am Einlass unglaublich unfreundlich und frech. Essen lecker. Ambiente sehr hektisch, je schneller du isst desto besser.

There were four of us, and we ordered a whole goose. Unfortunately, we weren't shown the whole goose, as we've experienced in other restaurants. This was probably because the goose wasn't nicely crispy and brown, but rather black or burnt. Consequently, it was also quite dry. I can't recommend Sansibar.

Excellent food and a cozy atmosphere! Definitely recommended.

The food is really good, the staff is friendly and nice, I go there often. The only downside is the people who frequent this place—not everyone, of course, but especially one woman in her 50s or 60s who was waiting for her daughter. My mother and I followed behind, and we wanted to grab a quick drink. But the waiter asked the woman if I was her daughter, and she replied, "No, my daughter is much prettier." I looked at her, and so as not to seem silly, I replied, "Thank you for the compliment," and she laughed without shame. Now, I want to say something to you, hoping you'll see this review. Certainly, your daughter may be the most beautiful in the world, and I may be a little less beautiful than her, but with money, dear lady, you can become beautiful on the outside, but on the inside you will always remain ugly, and that ugliness doesn't go away with money. I feel sorry for all the people who have to hear these things every day from rude, unruly, and arrogant people like that 50/60-year-old woman, compared to a 20-year-old girl like her daughter. It's not nice to know that this woman is a mother who says such things…

We wanted to visit Sansibar at Breuninger Düsseldorf as a couple. As instructed, we waited at the entrance to be seated. After some waiting, we were offered a rather cramped and uncomfortable spot at the bar for two people. Before I even had a chance to ask for a seat at one of the many free tables, the employee left us standing there without another word. Since we belong to that apparently very rare breed who value respectful and friendly interaction, we left the restaurant without ordering anything and will not be returning.

We dined at Sansibar Düsseldorf several times. The food is excellent, and the price is reasonable. What truly stands out, however, is the highly professional and attentive, yet incredibly friendly and personal service. Keep it up!

Great location with a beautiful view of the park and lake. Sansibar by Breuninger Düsseldorf has a pleasant atmosphere. The staff was attentive and courteous. The dorado was delicious, and the side dish was also very tasty. We recommend this restaurant and will gladly return.

The food was delicious. You really need to improve your service. Don't speak to the waiter while he's typing up orders – he was startled, took a step to the side, and told me in a harsh tone that he would come to my table… Sorry, but especially in the restaurant industry, you should always try to listen to the customer. Again, the food was absolutely delicious. However, when ordering a steak, you should ask how you'd like it cooked. The side dish I ordered with the steak didn't arrive, even though I was told it would be right there. My companion had the used cutlery from the appetizer plate placed on her napkin – sorry, but in a high-end establishment, a second set of cutlery for the main course should be standard. Unfortunately, your service doesn't live up to your prices. And again – the food was great, and that's why I would come back.

The currywurst tastes really good, with delicious fries, and a good portion. The price is a bit high, though. The burger, for over €30, was also quite good, but unreasonably priced. Very attentive staff and a nice atmosphere. Worth a try.

Visited the Sansibar at Breuninger in Düsseldorf for the first time this afternoon. The restaurant immediately made a good and inviting impression. The food was delicious, and the staff were very friendly. The truffle fries were particularly recommended. The duck and the vegetarian platter were also impressive. If you have the time and inclination, you should definitely stop by.

The Sansi Bar is an absolute culinary delight! The atmosphere is super cozy, the staff is always friendly, and the cocktails are simply amazing. You can tell that attention to detail goes into making this place. It's a perfect place to spend a relaxing evening. I love coming back!

We went twice for lunch and our order came quite quickly and the service was good. My experience this time was very positive compared to last time. May be the Restaurant was not full to its capacity.

I'm actually quite pleasantly surprised. We've been here several times now, and every time our expectations have been completely exceeded! Great ambiance, amazing view, incredibly friendly staff, and the food is fantastic. Everything is just right here. The kitchen always delivers a great selection, and the quality is top-notch. The food was perfect, but the air conditioning was set so cold that you practically shivered at every seat when the outside temperature was 26°C. Something like that definitely diminished the enjoyment. I would have preferred to leave. Strangely, the temperature inside the Breuninger building itself was perfectly maintained.

A truly positive surprise in every way. I've been here several times for business, but usually for smaller (more expensive) snacks or a coffee. Until now, I might have only given it 4 stars due to the price-performance ratio. But in the evening, with a beautiful air-conditioned view of the water and the sun, and a whole sea bream and excellent side dishes, I was overcome by the Zanzibar feeling. I've eaten many sea breams in my life, but this one, in terms of appearance, size, and taste, was probably the best. And this one for 59 euros for two people. We were extremely full and culinaryly satisfied. I would definitely go back, I can only recommend it. The side dishes were also generous, to start with, lots of olives and baguette with demi sel beurre. With an alcohol-free limoncello spritz. Wonderful. 🙂 Dessert was a warm American cheesecake (one is enough for two) and decaffeinated coffee. Perfect. All in all, around 100 euros. Very fair. And overall, the level you know from Sylt, just in Düsseldorf.

The two of us stopped there early in the evening of March 22nd, 2025, ordered currywurst/fries and spaghetti from the daily menu, plus drinks, super nice and fast service, quick food preparation, bread with butter was served, attentive staff, clean restaurant, card payment possible, overall nothing to complain about, gladly again.

The Zanzibar is actually the best thing in the building. Even though there is still room for improvement when it comes to dealing with customers, the food is really good.

The food is excellent, the service needs some work, and the atmosphere I think needs some warmth. Overall I wouldn't say I don't recommend it, it's worth going for the cuisine. A bit expensive of course, we went for a business lunch for four people

It took some searching, but the food was very good and definitely worth it

In contrast to other reviews, both the reception and the service were very nice. With the note “this table is reserved from 7 p.m. onwards” we got a good seat by the window. The service was quick and very friendly and the food was also very tasty (beef roulade). However, the prices are high and there is a star deduction for the ambience. What else would be recommended to the management is to read the review and comment on it. In this day and age (digitalization), this is an indication of customer orientation, because anyone who is not interested in their reviews is not interested in their guests/customers ☝️

Thanks to the lovely waitress Hanna, dinner in this restaurant was saved!!! The man at the reception was very arrogant and not friendly to guests! The restaurant was half empty! The rest of the staff shines in this contrast. We would like to emphasize again that if it weren't for the waitress Hanna, who is very attentive and courteous, we would have left straight away!!!

I wait at the entrance area for 4 minutes because everyone is supposed to wait. Come behind me people just walk past me, rush into the store and say two people here. I want to eat and I'm waiting there and the waitress completely disrespected me, embarrassing shop.

Cool location, great food, top quality

Very rough manner at reception and the service leaves a lot to be desired. Even if the gentleman at the reception is actually stressed - which he obviously always is, at least he always acts that way - you can be friendlier to your guests. In addition, always telling the majority of people "I don't have any free tables left" and sending them away, with a large number of tables remaining free for over an hour - what's the point! What does he want to achieve with this - he's only hurting his boss and sales! As a result, there is still a lot of room for improvement in terms of service. Maybe you should consider an internship in southern countries to "learn" the necessary friendliness or simply pay him based on tips - then this will take care of itself.

We are more or less permanent guests in this restaurant. The service staff was and is always friendly, courteous and cleanly dressed. The wine and champagne accompaniments were comprehensive and very informative. We really liked that . All the dishes presented were cooked to perfection, well seasoned and absolutely delicious. We know that the restaurant offers high-priced food and that is what we want. We also know this from Sylt. We rate the restaurant as particularly recommendable.

Place wasn't full when I got there and i didn't have to wait, I took a star cause I didn't enjoy the coffee, strong taste of the Hmilch. I like fresh milk in my latte, the food was pretty good only got a burger though

The oysters and currywurst tasted great. The staff is efficient, but there was a bit of a lack of warmth. The tables are rather close together. All in all, a good place to refresh yourself before/after/during a shopping tour.

The spaghetti with the veal bolognese was a disaster! The spaghetti was just swimming in fat and on top there was a big blob of pesto - whatever that is supposed to be on a bolognese. In addition, the prices are really outrageous: e.g. 0.75l of water -> €8.50. We enjoyed coming here often, but probably not anymore for now.

Service was very nice and ambience is nice. Unfortunately, the price-performance ratio of the food doesn't match at all. A lentil salad with grilled vegetables from the daily menu consisted of 60% only rocket, which was not even an ingredient on the menu. Just under €20 for that?!? For 1 tablespoon of lentils and 5 vegetables. Sorry, doesn't work at all!

Super nice service but poor quality food. A hamburger for €32.50 does not fit. Meat should be of top quality for the money with a better salad than from a container. At Breuninger you will find top brands. Unfortunately, the restaurant detracts from this beautiful business.

Freundlicher Empfang, schnelle Bedienung, hohes und im Verhältnis zur Qualität unangemessenes Preisniveau! (z. B. Roastbeef durchgegart und zu dick geschnitten, Bratkartoffeln vor Fett triefend, nach Reklamation erneut viel zu fettig, Vitello Tonnato mit wässriger Thunfischsauce, ebenfalls viel zu dickes Kalbsfleisch, etc.) Bei früheren Besuchen sind solche Fehler nicht aufgefallen, schade.

Wir hatten nicht reserviert und mussten dementsprechend an der Bar warten . Die Wartezeit hielt sich im Rahmen . Der Geschäftsführer sehr professionell und freundlich . Das Personal professionell und sachlich ( bei ständig besetzten Plätzen ) Die Gerichte sehr schmackhaft. Obwohl alle Plätze belegt gewesen kamen Getränke und Essen zeitnah . Das Preis Leistungsverhältnis ist stimmig ( wenn man sich nicht für die Currywurst mit Fritten für 17 Euro entscheidet)

The Burger Party was supposed to be medium rare, but it was completely done. The burger bread was very dry. Personally, the cheesecake for dessert was too lemony for me. Yes, the steaks were excellent and the restaurant is nice, if a bit pricey. But unfortunately the ribeyes that were ordered medium were completely “done” for the second time. Great service, super tasty food and a great selection of drinks. It's been a long time since I've had such a delicious carpaccio as in the Sansibar restaurant. The Wiener Schnitzel was also perfect. Ein "Erlebnis" der etwas anderen Art.... Beim Eintreffen, wird man durch ein Schild, darauf hingewißen, bitte zu warten, man wird zum "Platz / Tisch" geführt. Nun ja, wir stehen also dort, man sieht uns mehrfach direkt an, keiner fühlt sich dazu in der Lage uns an den Platz oder Tisch zu bringen. Nach ca. 3 Minuten, nennen wir es mal "begaffen" durch Mitarbeiter, hat sich dann jemand "herabgelassen", uns zu einem 4er Tisch zu geleiten, an dem bereits zwei Personen saßen. Nach dem Platznehmen, wurden die Herrschaften am gleichen Tisch dann auch direkt durch den Mitarbeiter bedient, dieser sah uns mehrfach an, sah logischerweise ja auch dass wir neu am Tisch saßen. Das war ihm wohl völligst egal, neue Gäste, welche nach uns kamen, erhielten ein freundliches "Hallo", erhielten ihren Tisch, erhielten direkter Natur die relevanten Tages- und Speisekarten usw. Nun ja, wir sind ja freundlich und sicherlich auch geduldig, also warteten wir geschlagene 15 Minuten ! Und dann winkte ich doch mal sehr dezent den relevanten Mitarbeiter herbei, er sah es dann (konnte wohl nicht länger bewusst vorbei schauen) und brachte dann doch eher widerwillig die Karten, (wie gesagt nach mittlerweile 15 Minuzten sinnloses und absolut nicht nachvollziehbarem warten lassen), legte diese wortlos auf den Tisch und verschwand wieder. Nach weiteren 10 Minuten sitzen, rumschauen und warten, nach weiterem mittlerweile immer mehr aufsteigendem Gefühl "des nicht wohlfühlens", entschließen wir beide uns dann diese Lokalität direkt wieder zu verlassen, unsere Tischnachbarn waren ebenfalls etwas verwundert, über das Verhalten der dortigen Angestellten. Ihr lieben Leute dort, wenn ihr den Anspruch habt, "gehobene oder auch stylische Gastronomie" anzubieten, und auch so wahrgenommen werden wollt, dann bitte passt Euren Servicelevel, auch entsprechend an ! Das ist unter aller Würde, so behandelt man keinen Gast oder Gäste ! Das ist unterster Snobismus, absolut unterstes Niveau ! Dies sollte eigentlich eine Art "spontaner Test" sein, wir hatten vor, zu einem späteren Zeitpunkt, nach Möglichkeit das Gesamte Lokal für eine private Feier anzumieten. Aber offentsichtlich, legt man hier absolut keinen Wert auf Gäste, auf vielleicht auch neue Gäste, auf die Menschen ansich, auf den zahlenden Gast. Diese Art der ja leider nicht zustande gekommen "Bewirtung" ist wirklich eine Schande. Meine Frau selbst kommt nicht aus Deutschland, ich kann mich hier nur für das Benehmen und das nicht vorhandene Serviceverständnis bei ihr entschuldigen. Also, wer weiterhin Lust auf "Sehen und Gesehen werde" hat, der geht sicherlich weiter dort hin, gibt nichts darauf, ob Eigenanspruch, und erbrachter Service auch nur annähernd zusammenpassen, allerdings werden Menschen, welche dort einfach nur nett bedient werden wollen, eine Kleinigkeit Essen & Trinken wollen, hier eher schlichtweg falsch sein. After taking a seat, the people at the same table were served directly by the employee, who looked at us several times and logically saw that we were new at the table. He probably didn't care at all, new guests who came after us received a friendly "Hello", were given their table, received the relevant daily menus and menus, etc. Well, we are friendly and certainly patient, too We waited a solid 15 minutes! And then I very discreetly waved the relevant employee over, he then saw it (probably couldn't consciously look past any longer) and then rather reluctantly brought the cards (as I said, after 15 minutes of pointless and absolutely incomprehensible waiting). , put it on the table without a word and disappeared again. After another 10 minutes of sitting, looking around and waiting, after a further increasing feeling of "not feeling well", we both decided to leave the place straight away. Our neighbors at the table were also a bit surprised at the behavior of the employees there. Dear people there, if you aspire to offer “upscale or stylish gastronomy” and want to be perceived that way, then please adjust your service level accordingly! This is beneath all dignity, this is not how you treat a guest or guests! This is the lowest level of snobbery, absolutely the lowest level! This was actually supposed to be a kind of "spontaneous test"; we planned to rent the entire venue for a private party at a later date, if possible. But obviously there is absolutely no value here on guests, on perhaps new guests, on the people themselves, on the paying guest. This kind of "hospitality" unfortunately didn't come about is really a shame. My wife herself is not from Germany, I can only apologize to her for her behavior and the lack of understanding of service. So if you still want to "see and be seen", you will certainly continue to go there, it doesn't matter whether your own demands and the service provided even come close to each other, although people who just want to be served nicely there will If you want a little something to eat and drink, you're simply wrong here. Basically a good concept to establish a restaurant directly in Breuninger. I think the prices are quite high, the food was solid. The restaurant is probably more focused on shopping tourists than on returning local guests.

I frequently visit the restaurant. But unfortunately the service and the food is getting worse over the years. The server is giving the impression that you should pay the bill and so we can retire. The food is also sorry to say seems pre cooked and out of the fridge for heating and serving . The visit we had there last year we got stuck in the elevator and it took ages that someone to come and fix it. It is better to go there at Breunniger store hrs. Otherwise you may got stuck at the service elavator. The end of the story I am doubtful to go there again

I have visited this place for a few times recently but for this last visit the food was poor and the service was definitely lacking , shifts change and the last waiter on duty was in the mood that you should leave and he will go home.

On March 4, 2024, my wife personally reserved a table from Ms. Celine in the Sansibar Restaurant in Breuninger am Kö-Bogen. She was assured of a table by the window with a view of the courtyard garden. When we arrived on Tuesday March 19, 2024 at 4:25 p.m., Mr. Budarek told us, He would always try to fulfill all wishes, but in our case unfortunately all the tables by the window are occupied. The hint that we didn't have a request but a reservation didn't help. We then left the restaurant. After a short while I went back to get the employee's name. Mr. Budarek, it said on his sign, offered to take a photo of his name tag. When I picked up my cell phone, he thought about it and held my hand tightly. He would call security now. Another employee of the restaurant came over and offered to make a phone call. Completely dismayed and stunned, I turned around and left the Zanzibar restaurant. I was able to remember the name even without a photo. Even after a few days I can't explain this behavior. Why should you reserve a table if this is just a request? Why do people threaten security when they want to know the name of an employee? Is such behavior dictated by management or did Mr. Budarek just have a bad day?

It's not a great restaurant, but it's worth it for the atmosphere and service. They sell tapas food as part of Spanish food. The steak was mediocre in taste and cooking for the price.

Beautiful place, super well decorated and a really enchanting atmosphere. I only had my latte macchiato there, but it was really nice. And there is a cell phone charging station. :)

We had reserved a table, which is essential on a Saturday lunchtime because the restaurant was full. The waiter was friendly and took good care of us, the food and drinks came quickly and it was super tasty. There is also always a dog bowl available. Everything great

The restaurant strikes a balance with its reasonably priced dishes, ensuring you get your money's worth. A welcoming waitstaff further elevates the experience, making it a place I'd enthusiastically recommend.

An absolute in-restaurant. In terms of price, it's nothing for a "quick meal", as they only offer a very expensive but also very exciting menu selection. The dishes are very attractively prepared and tasty. The service is attentive and friendly. The ambience is not that nice. The narrowness, darkness and somewhat uncomfortable furniture don't really invite you to linger. Access via the sales floor of the department store takes some getting used to. All in all an interesting location... e.g. for a business meeting.

Pleasant if you've already shopped at Breuninger. Only, the other day we came at 7:30 p.m. All the seats were occupied. They also didn't want to reserve the next free place for us... we didn't find that exciting and left disappointed... Go to Barollo in Kö Passage, the food is better there anyway, as is the ambience, especially at Christmas time, and there is live music. By the way, the fries (truffle/parmesan) have become outrageously expensive here in Zanzibar and come across as dull instead of crispy. You can't really enjoy it anymore.
