Dos Amigos Mexican Restaurant in Hamburg

Wir waren schon lange auf der Suche nach dem perfekten Restaurant mit mexikanischer Küche und wir haben es gefunden! So so lecker war das! Besser geht es nicht und auch der Wein war unschlagbar :-) Die Gastgeber Andrea und Frank könnten nicht freundlicher und sympathischer sein. Wir haben den Abend im Dos Amigos sehr genossen. Ein Besuch lohnt sich!

A delicious, familiar Mexican restaurant with very courteous service and friendly staff! I also enjoy navigating through the wonderful world of various tequilas after the fabulous meal.

Friendly staff, the food is ok but nothing special, the atmosphere is ok.

For me the first choice in Hamburg if I want to eat Mexican. From delicious tacos to enchiladas and a good burrito, everyone will find what they are looking for here (including picky eaters). I can only recommend the Strawberry Margarita. The service is great and the owner leaves nothing to be desired.

The dishes cannot be topped, every dish was a feast for the eyes and a taste explosion. This Mexican restaurant deserves 10 stars. Great owner, always available for a quick chat. Booked the next evening.

We ate there for the first time last night and all I can say is that we haven't had such a delicious Mexican meal in a long time. You have to go there. The food was perfect. Operation/service top. Unfortunately we live in Cuxhaven, otherwise we would eat there more often. We will definitely come back when we are in Hamburg. Definitely our new favorite restaurant.

Nice Mexican restaurant...but too expensive for me personally. Funny: old prices have been crossed out and the new ones (all about €3 more) are written next to them with a ballpoint pen 😅 There are hardly any dishes under €20 anymore! A pity!

The food is good, including the homemade alcohol. However, you can only pay the bills in cash. An absolute no go these days. So unfortunately the store won't see me again.

We landed here to watch the European Championship game in 2024. Randomly. That was a great coincidence. Extremely friendly amigo couples are waiters. Quessedillas are delicious with chicken. Warning: when you leave here you definitely have a little cheese baby inside you. Regardless of the court. However, the nice Bavarian owner advises you and vetoes you if he notices that you want to order too much. Portion sizes rather overwhelming. It's better to order slowly and little by little. When in doubt, share. But good overall. Beer Mexican delicious. But cave:only cash. But you will be made aware of it in advance. Location great. I like it here.

Kind people and they serve good food. We asked for beer with some salt on the cup and learnt that they don’t serve it but they were happy to make an exception. Keep in mind it’s like 25 to 30 Euro per person and they only accept cash

A cute little Mexican restaurant in the middle of a living area. The drinks, setting and music were really nice, as well as the service. They were attentive and I loved that they had a friendship vibe with each other, joking and laughing together - that good mood was enjoyable! A little minus I am giving for the slightly overpriced food (nachos for like 17€ is 3-4€ too much!) and that the food reminded me more of US-Mex food than real Mexican food, esp when it comes to the Tacos. But it was still tasty! :-)

We were there spontaneously with a group of 8 people. Since we were still a bit undecided about how we wanted to pay in cash, the landlord came to us in a friendly manner and recommended ATMs. We got a table for the eight of us. The ambience is authentic, the service is very attentive and friendly and the food and drinks are very tasty. There is a clear recommendation for Dos Amigos. We had a cozy, beautiful and delicious evening

Super tasty enchilada mix, friendly service, everything fits

What was super impressive was that the boss called us back after previous unsuccessful attempts (!) and was then able to make room for four people. The Mexican food is authentic. It is prepared by South Americans. The chefs know their craft. Unfortunately, the car-driving author was unable to try the traditionally delicious Margarita. But his friends. We really loved the food and cocktails. Thanks.

We've known about dos amigos for a long time. The quality of the food is always very good, the service is attentive, friendly and professional. Very good and authentic selection of drinks. If the weather permits, you can sit very comfortably on the terrace, which is not very common in Eimsbüttel. For vegetarian dishes, a protein ingredient would be nice (tofu, lupine...)

Food was uneventful, bland and poor ingredients. Nachos at the beginning were likely cheapest private label Aldi / Lidl. Tacos were mediocre at max. Same private label taco continued with overpowering cumin. Really dissapointin. Service was attentive but cash only makes you think whether they pay any taxes. For the price, they should. Not coming back.

Food is a 10/10, I think the prices are completely justified. Portions are large, quality and service are A1.

Were there on the weekend. Food absolutely authentic, food very tasty. Absolutely recommend the draft beer, service is quick and super friendly. We would be happy to come back thanks to the entire team.

We chose this restaurant because of the good reviews. First of all, the service was very nice and you didn't have to wait long for anything. Unfortunately, the food really didn't impress us. I didn't think it really tasted "Mexican" and the seasoning in particular was really poor. The tacos were very sappy and I wasn't impressed with the enchiladas either. Vegetables also tasted very bland and somehow we left the restaurant very dissatisfied and disappointed. Especially in combination with the prices (€35 per person for starter/2, main course and drink) it's really difficult for me to sugarcoat the whole thing. We expected much more for the price :(

Small Mexican restaurant...clear number of seats (makes the visit comfortable)...super nice service...food absolutely top... Conclusion...gladly again.

We were there at the beginning of April 2024. However, rather late. Therefore we couldn't eat anything, only order drinks. But these were great. The cocktails were good, but the tequila is particularly recommended. Here especially the “house brand” in different flavors. Vanilla and chili are particularly great. The shop is also very cozy in terms of furnishings. We also got to talk to the innkeepers. Very pleasant.

Super tasty Mexican with top staff. Dishes are actually 2-3 euros too expensive, but people are still happy to support local restaurants. The two of us went there spontaneously a few weeks ago on Saturday evening and had no problems getting a seat (shortly after opening). Meals very tasty, drinks too. It's a shame that no lunch is offered, but that's understandable given the lack of walk-in customers. Taste 5/5 Service 5/5 Ambience 4/5 Prices 4/5 Would love to come back

I don't know of a better restaurant for authentic Mexican dishes like “dos amigos”. I was impressed by the very nice service and the great quality of the food. I always enjoy coming back!

Very friendly staff. The food is quite good. I ordered an enchilada mix with three variations. Quite expensive for just under 21 euros. Unfortunately, the cocktails weren't really a highlight.

The food there has nothing to do with Mexican food.

I was at Dos Amigos on a Saturday evening and it was quite full at first, but then quickly emptied out. The restaurant is stylistically not my cup of tea, in my opinion it is decorated in a rather amateurish manner, but that shouldn't be the focus, but rather the food. We were warmly welcomed. However, there was a nice supplement in the menu that first left out the politics and then the chef's wage claims in order to justify the higher prices. Super inappropriate and when I read this I wanted to leave. The food was okay, but not special. I had three tacos - beef, shrimp and vegetables. The vegetables were corn and peppers in a yoghurt-like sauce, which can definitely be improved by adding: B. grilled vegetables are served. And for a pepper and corn salad in a tortilla, it was quite expensive at €6.50. In comparison, the shrimp and the beef taco were quite cheap at €7 & €8. When we said goodbye, the owner had to tell us how stressful the last few weeks had been and that this evening was so unusually empty, considering it was a Saturday. Sorry, but that's the job you decided to do, you don't have to tell the guests how stressful or difficult your life is. All in all, a rather sobering evening. I won't come again and won't recommend it to my friends either.

Eher ruhig in einer Seitenstraße abseits des Trubels der Osterstraße gelegen, kämpft dieses Restaurant "um jeden Gast". Die Preise wurden zuletzt saftig erhöht und befinden sich nun definitiv in einem Bereich, der das Essengehen gut durchdacht sein lassen will. Wer sich trotzdem dafür entscheiden (kann) hilft nicht nur den Gastronomen, sondern auch dem eigenen Gaumen. Bis zum letzten Bissen lecker!

Der absolute Hammer sehr authentisches mexikanisches Essen, tolles bayrisches Bier vom Fass der Inhaber Schwabe der seine Heimat vermisst. Eigentlich passt hier alles nicht richtig zusammen aber es war ein so dermaßen gelungener Abend. Wir kommen definitiv wieder.

Haben hier spontan, obwohl wir nicht reserviert hatten und alles ausgebucht war, einen Tisch bekommen. Das Essen ist authentisch, hervorragend zubereitet und wird von einer guten Getränkeauswahl abgerundet. Der Service war darüber hinaus ebenfalls klasse, hier kommt man sehr gerne wieder vorbei!

Das Essen und die Bedienung waren top. Das Ambiente war ok. Teils erneuerungswürdig. Aber auf jeden Fall einen Besuch wert.

Ich kann (fast) nur positives über Dos Amigos sagen. Wir gehen hier (zwar) immer gern mit der ganzen Familie essen, (aber die Preise sind jetzt dann doch so sehr gestiegen, dass es für uns mexikanisch nur noch zu Hause gibt.) Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und aufmerksam. Und das Essen ist gut.

Wer mexikanisches Essen gerne isst, dem kann ich dieses Lokal sehr empfehlen. Das Essen ist sehr lecker und das Personal ziemlich höflich.

Sehr leckeres Essen und netter, schneller Service. Nur etwas laut durch sehr nah stehende Tische, was aber kein Drama ist, einfach etwas lauter sprechen. Das leckere Essen ist wichtiger!

Mein absolutes Lieblingsrestaurant in Hamburg! Ich liebe die Sizzler und Maracuja-Caipis, überbackene Nachos dürfen als Vorspeise auch nie fehlen… und das in gemütlicher Atmosphäre, nach der Renovierung ist es noch mal schöner geworden! Im Winter drinnen und im Sommer im grünen Terrassenbereich. Toller Service von den beiden freundlichen Inhaber*innen!!
