Dornheim - Trinklokal & Esskultur in Coburg

Essen war sehr lecker. Portionen könnten ein bisschen größer sein. Aber alles ist frisch gemacht und sehr lecker. Man sollte gute Wartezeit mit einplanen. Der Biergarten ist sehr schön. Was man noch einpacken sollte, ist ein großer Geldbeutel..aber auf jeden Fall einen Besuch wert..

Im "Dornheim" kann man eine gute mediterrane Küche genießen. Die Speisekarte ist nicht allzu groß, aber man findet bestimmt eine leckere Speise, ganz nach Wahl, mit oder ohne Fleisch. Die Speisen waren frisch, sehr lecker gewürzt und kamen auch in einer angemessenen Zeit auf den Tisch. Die Bedienung war immer sehr aufmerksam und freundlich. Wer die mediterrane Küche mag, klare Empfehlung. Was uns zum Schluss nicht so gut gefallen hat, war die Tatsache, dass nur Bargeld akzeptiert wird. Wir bekamen die Antwort, es läge am Kassensystenwechsel und dauert einige Monate. Na, wir werden mal schauen, wie es beim nächsten Besuch dann abläuft.

Das Dornheim ist eines der besten Restaurants die ich in der letzten Zeit besucht habe. Die Speisekarte ist ehr klein, aber die Speisen einfach nur ein Gedicht. Ich komme beim nächsten Coburg Besuch gerne wieder.

Einfach immer wieder gut! Gemütlich, freundlicher Service und mega leckeres Essen! Auch die Getränkeauswahl ist super - ohne Alkohol mit großer Auswahl!

Ich habe für den 25.04.2026 um 18:30 Uhr, 2–3 Tage im Voraus, einen Tisch für zwei Personen reserviert. Bei unserer Ankunft im Restaurant wurde uns jedoch mitgeteilt, dass nur Plätze an der Theke oder draußen verfügbar seien. Bei der Reservierung oder telefonisch wurde dies in keiner Weise erwähnt. Ich hatte ausdrücklich einen normalen Tisch im Innenbereich erwartet. Auf meine Nachfrage wurde uns lediglich in einem sehr überheblichen Ton gesagt, dass wir uns nur „Theke oder draußen“ leisten könnten. Unter diesen Umständen haben wir uns entschieden, das Restaurant zu verlassen. Ein solches Auftreten und dieser Umgang mit Gästen sind für uns nicht akzeptabel. Wir werden dieses Restaurant nicht erneut besuchen.

Ein kleines, gemütliches Lokal mit dem gewissen Ambiente. Etwas für jede Altersgruppe, individuelle Raumgestaltung und Sitzgelegenheiten in der ehemaligen kleinen Druckerei , die Auswahl an Speisen und Getränken läßt keinen Wunsch offen. Vegan oder nicht, für jeden Geschmack ist was dabei. Der Service locker, nett und zuvorkommend, die Qualität der Küche top. Zu empfehlen!

Service war top! Essen super lecker, große Portion, angemessenes Preis-Leistungsverhältnis. Mussten leider über 1 Stunde warten, daher nur 4 Sterne. Ambiente sehr gemütlich, 1 Stern Abzug, weil es sehr laut war…wen das aber beim unterhalten nicht stört, wird sich hier rundum wohl fühlen…

Tolles Lokal mit kleiner, sehr gut und ausgewählter Speisekarte. Hochwertiges, leckeres Essen und super Service. Heterogenes Publikum. Hunde willkommen. Insgesamt absolut empfehlenswert.

Ich war jetzt schon das dritte Mal im Dornheim in Coburg und komme immer wieder gern. Die vegetarischen und veganen Gerichte sind richtig gut – abwechslungsreich, frisch und einfach lecker. Der Service ist jedes Mal super freundlich und aufmerksam, ohne aufdringlich zu sein. Man fühlt sich rundum gut aufgehoben. Freue mich schon aufs nächste Mal!

Ein absolutes Geschmackserlebnis! Unser Besuch im Dornheim war rundum fantastisch. Von der ersten bis zur letzten Gabel hat alles wunderbar geschmeckt — liebevoll zubereitete Gerichte mit frischen Zutaten und einer klar spürbaren Leidenschaft fürs Kochen. Ein besonderes Highlight war für uns das Brot: hausgemacht, perfekt gebacken und mit einer Textur und einem Aroma, das man sonst kaum findet. Es war so gut, dass wir uns gleich gefragt haben, ob es ein eigenes Geheimrezept ist — knusprige Kruste, weicher Kern und intensiver Geschmack, der Lust auf mehr macht. Der Service war aufmerksam und freundlich, das Ambiente angenehm und einladend. Insgesamt ein absolut empfehlenswerter Ort für alle, die Wert auf hochwertige Küche legen — wir kommen definitiv wieder!

Es hat wie immer alles gepasst. Das Essen war fabelhaft, der Service schnell. Die Bedienungen sind stets freundlich und zuvorkommend, so dass man sich direkt wohl und gut aufgehoben fühlt. Das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis passt auch. Da ich 3 Gänge hatte und alles dort frisch und aus der Region erworben wird, war es preislich auch in Ordnung. Egal ob Fleischessende, vegetarisch oder vegan lebende Menschen, hier kommen alle auf ihre Kosten. Dankeschön für alles und gerne wieder:).

Gestern zum ersten Mal im Dornheim gewesen. Es ist wirklich super gemütlich, tolles Interieur, gemütliche Sitzmöglichkeiten und was ich vor allem toll Finde: Es gibt eine Bar an der man sitzen kann. Findet man in Deutschland, meiner Meinung nach, viel zu selten. Personal auch super freundlich.Mussten schon etwas länger auf das Essen warten, aber war von der Zeit her noch ok. Ich fand das Essen teilweise schon etwas teuer. Das riesige Schnitzel war den Preis absolut wert. Auch Preis für die Suppe war total angemessen. Anders sah es bei den Salaten aus. Ich hatte total wenig Seitan und kaum etwas von dem in der Karte angegeben Gemüse, dafür einen riesen Berg Rucola und Sprossen. Irgendwo unten drunter, war dann der "Hauptsalat" versteckt. Sah nach einer riesigen Portion aus, war aber hauptsächlich Rucola, was ich dann für 17 € schon heftig finde. Das Brot dazu war lecker und warm. Getränke vom Preis her auch angemessen. Werde bestimmt mal wiederkommen, dann aber vielleicht für Getränke und einen kleinen Snack.

Mein Besuch heute im Dornheim, der nicht der erste war (und nicht der letzte sein wird) war ein absolut gelungener Abend. Die Atmosphäre war sehr angenehm, die Bedienung zuvorkommend und das Essen hervorragend. Die Gerichte mit Vorspeisen wurden mehr als zügig serviert. Und wenn man bedenkt, dass alles frisch zubereitet wird, war das eine Leistung, die man (sowohl vom Service und Ablauf mit Wartezeit als auch geschmacklich) so häufig nicht mehr vorfindet. Für mich und meine Begleitungen ist und bleibt das Dornheim mit die erste Wahl.

Ich war nach längerer Zeit wieder im Dornheim und habe Freunde aus München mitgebracht, die restlos begeistert waren. Das Essen war außergewöhnlich frisch, kreativ und unglaublich lecker, das Ambiente sehr angenehm und der Service aufmerksam und herzlich. Besonders schön ist, dass wirklich für jeden etwas dabei ist, egal ob vegetarisch oder mit Fleisch. Wir haben uns rundum wohlgefühlt und ich freue mich schon auf den nächsten Besuch.

The food was delicious, but there was too much for me to eat.

I was here recently with friends and it was incredibly delicious! There's a wide vegan selection and everything I ate was delicious! The salad (it had fried silken tofu on it 😍) was huge (+ vegan). And the dessert was vegan chocolate mousse and omg, how can something taste so good? Definitely a recommendation! The atmosphere is really cozy, with lots of pictures and mood lighting; you just feel at home. When the weather is warm, you can sit outside on the terrace; it's also very nice there, especially when the fairy lights are lit at dusk. The people are so nice, I'll definitely be back.

The best schnitzel I've eaten so far. Absolutely delicate and nice and big. Then I had the chocolate lava soufflé. It was a dream! Dornheim Coburg – A culinary journey through time with great enjoyment There are places that welcome you with a smile and say goodbye with pure happiness. Dornheim in Coburg is exactly such a place. Anyone who has eaten here will inevitably wonder why they didn't come much earlier. As soon as you enter you feel like you have been transported to another time. The lovingly designed ambience breathes the charm of the sixties - no artificial nostalgia, but a harmonious, detailed homage to an era in which design still had soul. That alone is a blessing. But then comes the food – and finally turns the stay into an experience. The menu is an ode to good taste. Vegetarians and vegans not only get their money's worth here, they are pampered. Homemade lemonades are refreshing in the best way, while dishes like baked sheep's cheese or falafel prove that vegetarian cuisine is anything but a compromise - it is a promise of enjoyment here. And the spaghetti? Perfectly al dente, with sauces that taste like they just drifted over from an Italian country house kitchen. If you're looking for something special, you shouldn't miss the changing special dishes - such as the homemade gnocchi, which literally melts in your mouth. And then – as if that wasn’t enough – comes the big finale: the little lava cake with whipped cream. Delicate on the outside, liquid chocolate bliss on the inside, a dessert that not only tastes good but also crowns the evening. You shouldn't leave Dornheim without him. Really not. Conclusion? An absolute must. If you're in Coburg and don't visit Dornheim, you're not just missing out on an outstanding restaurant, but also a piece of joie de vivre.

It was our first time in Dornheim and we couldn't believe we had missed it so far. The restaurant has a pleasant atmosphere, is originally furnished, is well attended and everyone seems to feel comfortable. The service was very nice and our dog was also welcome. I had vegetarian manti-manti, my wife had falafel, and we were amazed at how rich and round the taste was.

The Dornheim is a cozy restaurant with a huge selection of drinks. The homemade lemonades and cocktails are particularly delicious! The food is good, even if the selection isn't huge. There are many vegetarian and vegan options. In summer the beer garden is simply great! The service is great, super friendly and often asks if anything else is needed, that's how it has to be! The only downside is that it can get a bit noisy inside at times. Still a great place for a relaxing evening!

The first one I tried, there were 16 of us. I ate the Manti dish for the first time, I couldn't take a picture, but it was delicious. I ordered a glass of Primitivo. It was very pleasant. I only have one tip, the bathrooms weren't marked, so it took a while for everyone at the table to find them. I recommend it.

We had a wonderful, cozy, delicious and great evening in Dornheim. The positive reputation of this day's counter staff had already made its rounds at the Christmas market :-)...and what can I say. The two employees were super friendly, accommodating and you can tell that they enjoy working there. To the kitchen: I had beetroot risotto with roast beef, the food was not only delicious and to the point, it was also beautifully presented. Simply delicious! Gladly again soon.

It was very crowded, so we had to sit at the bar despite having a reservation. Later we were able to take our seats. Food and ambience were very good. The staff was extremely stressed, but still very friendly. Recommended.

Even shortly before the kitchen closed there was still a large selection of dishes. Despite the full dining room, the food came quickly and, as always, was well prepared. The service staff was smart, attentive and genuinely friendly. The loud (Christmas party) company at the neighboring table was annoying, but the "Dornheim" can't do anything about that 😊

Very nice atmosphere and delicious salads. Unfortunately, only 4 of 5 dishes were served, one was forgotten, which an attentive service at this price level would have noticed if an adult was sitting there without food - especially since drinks were reordered and delivered. Of course we noted this, but apart from a superficial apology, nothing came. In addition, empty bottles were not put away even when reordering. In short: the food and ambience are good, the service needs to catch up and doesn't correspond to the price level!
