Dong Que Quan München in München

My favorite eatery since I first arrived in Germany in 2023 is the broken rice dish (com tam) here because very few places serve it, and it's delicious.

Everything was delicious and reasonably priced. The owner was lovely 🫶🫶🫶

Genuinely one of the best com tam I’ve had. And as an Australian living in the Sydney west, I know good Vietnamese (iykyk) We came here for lunch on our last day in Munich, and ended up going back again for dinner because it was that good. Will think about that delicious com tam!

Disappointing experience at Dong Que Quan. Poor service, substandard food, unclear payment methods - all of which made for a very bad experience. With the high price, we expected better quality and professionalism. What a pity! My family and I (3 adults in total) visited this restaurant hoping to enjoy our hometown food, although there were some minor problems in the past. But this time it was really disappointing, and we will definitely never come back again (October 28, 2025). 1. Customer service (1/5) • We waited a long time for the staff to take our order, and the attitude was not welcoming, and the answers were curt. • When we asked for more special dishes, the owner suggested that we call to order in advance and then suggested that we switch to hot pot or easier-to-serve dishes instead of the chosen dishes. We still chose the dishes we ordered. 2. Food quality (1/5) • Appetizer: Fried chicken wings with fish sauce (€11.90, including 3 wings cut in half) was served after 20 minutes. The taste of the dish was very strange, not the type of fried chicken with fish sauce but stir-fried with onions and soy sauce (according to the owner, "the new chef cooks in Chinese style"). The taste of the dish was like it was cooked from leftovers! • When complaining, the owner was indifferent, just smiled as if it was normal, did not apologize or suggest changing the dish. • Main dish: Of the 3 main dishes (beef noodle soup, shrimp and pork noodle soup and crab noodle soup), there were 2 dishes that were completely bland and lacked seasoning (no salt). We had to ask for 2 more bowls of fish sauce and pour almost all of it into the bowl before we could eat. All of them were not cooked well, we could not eat them all and had to leave a lot. 3. Payment issues (0/5) • When paying, the wrongly cooked chicken wings were suddenly reduced by 3.90€ (without any prior agreement) on the condition that we pay in cash or transfer money to our personal account (underground payment) instead of swiping our card through the machine. The total was 57€, we did not order any drinks. • We refused this offer and asked to pay in full through the machine. However, after discussing with the owner, the staff still arbitrarily reduced the 3.90€ and entered the items we did not know into the machine for payment. • We did not receive a printed invoice from the machine, but only a handwritten bill. Then we (because we did not have cash) had to pay by card according to the amount the staff entered manually into the machine. The way of calculating the money was not transparent and unprofessional. Added on 30.10.2025: Regarding the owner's response, I would like to clarify a few points: • We did not receive a printed invoice from the machine, but only a handwritten bill (this was also confirmed by the owner himself in the response below). • In the response, the owner also made it clear that he had entered another item into the machine to match the final amount, which means that the printed invoice – if any – did not match the items we ordered and ate. After that, the restaurant did not give us the printed invoice from the machine. • We never ordered the “Bún Chả Cá” dish that the owner mentioned. We only asked if there was a special dish or a dish of the day that day, because the restaurant used to have special dishes depending on the day. • The owner is trying to make light of the problem, but what we have reflected is completely true and has clear evidence (handwritten receipt, photos of the dish, etc.).

Simply perfect! The food is fantastic, the service is very friendly, and the food is amazing!! I can only recommend it.

For someone who has eaten Hue beef noodle soup at many restaurants in Vietnam, I think the broth and flavor at this restaurant are quite delicious.

Grilled pork vermicelli and Vietnamese pancakes are delicious. They are truly Vietnamese. The pancakes are crispy, the dipping sauce is great, and adding a little spice is wonderful 😋😋

The broken rice just served has the aroma of grilled ribs, the fish sauce is sweet and sticky, the cabbage soup is also delicious, only the egg roll is a bit dry and old, the skin is not very good. The Hue beef noodle soup has all the nails and blood, the taste is quite harmonious, for me it is okay. Overall the food is quite delicious, just a few small things are not perfect. The dessert is also sweet enough, cool to eat. There is also a cute candy counter.

Probably one of the best Vietnamese restaurants in Munich. Food is amazing and affordable. The service is fast and the staff is very friendly. I come here at least once a month. If not more often. Thank you!

I've been here for dinner several times and have never been disappointed. The menu also features special dishes you probably wouldn't find anywhere else. Flavorfully differentiated and authentic. Definitely recommended.

Very good Vietnamese restaurant with great, delicious food. Unfortunately, there's a construction site next door, so it's better to come in the evening or order takeaway.

The restaurant closes at 10pm. But due to traffic conditions, the group was able to stay until 12am. It was great and thank you very much. Next time I return to Munich, I will visit again.

Insanely authentic Vietnamese Food

The food was really good. They use fresh ingredients and serve very quickly. The owner and staff are very helpful and friendly. We came with the big group of 12 people and have to wait no time after we placed the order. If you would like to have authentic vietnamese food, this is the place for you. The price was reasonable as well. Strongly recommended!

I ordered Com Tam and Chao Long. It's absolutely mind-blowing. The food is authentic, with a South Vietnamese flavor. The sugar cane tastes great, too. The service is very friendly and personable. Everything is top-notch.

It’s okay. Probably the most close to authentic Vietnamese food I found in Munich.

We ate there Bun Rieu, Bun Bo Hue and Bun Dau Mam Tom. All the dishes were decent. Bac Xiu coffee was also on point. Took quite some time to pay though.

Very tasty. The little pancake was so delicious that I had to have it as a main course. The pork is also marinated! It tastes best while it's still hot, so eat it quickly.

I’ve ordered beef pho… but this amount of beef plus pork in it, it’s unacceptable cheating behavior. The color of the meat is simply different let alone the texture or amount of meat…. Very bad experience bc of the meat quality.

Authentic southern Vietnamese food in Munich. We love cơm tấm and cà phê sữa đá especially, bún bò Huế can have a bit more flavors. Very friendly and nice staff that make you feel like home ❤️ the only thing to improve would be waiting time. If you’re in a rush like us (trying to catch a train) then be mindful of the time. We waited 20-25min for the food when the resto was not very crowded and missed our train 🥲

I was there on May 15, 2025 – and it was just brutally bad. At 5 p.m., I opened the door and asked in Vietnamese: "Are you open?" The waitress simply replied: "Haven't you seen the customers?" Other customers were sitting somewhere in the corner – how could I possibly see them right away? She could have simply answered "yes" or "no." What kind of service?! The food was also just mediocre. Bye – never again!

Today I had a not so pleasant experience here. When my friend and I entered the restaurant (around 5pm) and my friend asked “is the restaurant open yet?” (why did we ask that, because most Vietnamese restaurants close at 3:00pm and reopen at 5:00pm and we were not sure if the restaurant was open yet, we did not see any customers in the restaurant because the customers sat in the opposite direction to where we were going and that place was hidden), and instead of warmly welcoming the customers and simply answering “yes” or “not open yet”, the old short-haired female employee at the restaurant looked at us and said “don’t you see the customers, why do you have to ask?”🥲. We were shocked, if anyone didn’t know, they would think we were begging for food from the restaurant, or if she was warm to foreign customers, but not to Vietnamese customers. I don’t know if she had a problem with service skills and communication skills or not. In short, although the food is okay, the service is negative. I hope the restaurant improves or replaces the staff.

When I live in the province, I rarely find a restaurant that has sugarcane juice, bean vermicelli, and porridge. I live in Saigon so my personal taste is delicious. The restaurant is decorated and plays Vietnamese music, making it feel very familiar

You can cook it yourself in a hot pot, and the soup is pretty good. The spring rolls are a little salty, so you need to drink them with water or drinks. You have to buy water.

The broken rice is very delicious, the ribs are succulent, and the fish sauce is sweeter than the Southern style. Hue beef noodle soup is super delicious, rich broth is worth eating when coming to Munich.

There's still construction outside, but inside it's fine. Not a fancy restaurant, more down to earth. The food was very tasty and the staff was nice and attentive. The music (piano blaring endless loop) was a bit monotonous.

I came here on the recommendation of a friend. The dish Cơm tấm is super delicious! Super good, authentic almost like in Vietnam. The service is friendly and accommodating. The seats are manageable. Will definitely come here again, but only for that one particular dish :D

Our group went out to eat and ordered a lot of dishes. Hue beef noodle soup is out of this world, its broth is rich and delicious, you can eat it to the last drop, broken rice is too much to eat alone, fragrant grilled meat, enough side dishes, grilled meat vermicelli is full of toppings, full of authentic Vietnamese flavors. The restaurant's space is just like the name "Dong Que Quan", it's as poetic as if you were in Vietnam. Friendly and sociable staff. Warm the hearts of people far from home. SHOULD GO ONCE TO ENJOY. I come to Restaurant while has construction fixing the outfit of building outside. But inside is fully table. so lucky i have a booking for my group with the hotpot with Seafood and spicy and sour. There are two women with very similar faces, I guess they are two sisters. But there is one person who probably has no training in communication and service. should speak somewhat rudely and make a somewhat unpleasant face even though no one has done anything. We had a company event on site yesterday. The staff was incredibly nice and helpful. The dishes were typically Vietnamese, very authentic, excellent and also inexpensive. We will definitely come again :)

Here you can get delicious food and, above all, authentic Vietnamese dishes! At least as far as we as Germans can judge. There are always a lot of Vietnamese guests, which we interpret as a good sign. Apparently the whole family works here - unfortunately sometimes with a lack of knowledge of German, which can make ordering a bit difficult. But that is made up for with kindness. The ambience is kitschy and takes a little getting used to, but somehow fits with the overall picture. The prices are fair and rather cheap for Munich. Definitely try it out!

Tasty vietnamese food and drink. A little bit hidden due to the construction in front of the restaurant. A lot of parking lots nearby. We can recommend to try out the salat, pho, coffee & sticky rice. We were so full that couldn't try the dessert.

I reserved a table online for the next day. After two confirmations, I received a message 20 hours later the next day that my reservation had been canceled - without explanation and by email, even though I had to provide my telephone number when registering. So really: If you forget to mention that you don't want to open your shop that day, then you have to at least tell people by phone so that they don't end up in front of a locked door.

This lovely place is my all time favorite Vietnamese restaurant in Germany. As a Vietnamese myself, I can attest that the food here represents the most genuine VNese cuisine at a very affordable price. Food lovers are warmly recommended to try out the Vietnamese dishes on menu. My favorite one is Com Tam Suon Bi Cha, try it and you won't be disappointed :)

Very satisfied!!! I am quite sure that Dong Que Quan is a delicious, beautiful, authentic restaurant. So I ordered Goi Du Du as a starter, Bun Dau Mam Tom and Banh Canh as main courses, and this Che Khoai Mon as dessert. For drinks I have Bac Xiu and Nuoc Mia. Firstly, all the dishes were truly Vietnamese from taste to aroma. Secondly, the owner was extremely friendly and approachable as we chatted briefly in Vietnamese. Third, as far as I know, there are several options for dessert. This means you can order a variety of dishes that are authentically Vietnamese. There are not as many authentic restaurants as Dong Que Quan in Germany. P/S: I mean the southern taste (Ho Chi Minh City). P/S: yesterday I had Hu Tieu Nam Vang. Omg, that was excellent 😭😭😭 Simply authentic!!!

The food was ok to good. My biggest gripe is the ambience. It was terribly cold. The employees were very hard working and had plenty to do.

What a great restaurant, difficult to find at the moment due to construction but definitely worth the search. Incredibly helpful staff, and service. All in all, a first class family business with original Asian food and a well-stocked bar, even drinks to go. Keep it up!

I have tried many Vietnamese restaurants in Germany and I really have to say that Dong Que Quan is the best Vietnamese restaurant in Germany! It is prepared according to very authentic Vietnamese recipes. The hygiene there is top, even the toilets are always clean. If you want a delicious Vietnamese dinner, you can't go wrong here. The order is taken straight away and prepared quickly. My personal favorite was Pho Ga. Staff is super friendly and very helpful!

Best authentic Vietnamese restaurant in Munich

Huong had a good experience at Dong Que Quan. Right from the moment you enter, the restaurant space creates a warm and comfortable feeling. The service staff is extremely friendly. I chose Bun with tofu and shrimp paste and felt the dish was quite delicious. If you are looking for an ideal place to enjoy, I recommend you visit Dong Que Quan. This is truly a place not to be missed when coming to Munich.
