Doctor Flotte in Heidelberg

There were six of us there and unfortunately we were anything but enthusiastic. The service seemed very stressed and wasn't particularly polite, which really spoiled the impression of the evening. The schnitzel tasted like a frozen schnitzel - absolutely disappointing for the price. I find it an absolute disgrace that you have to pay an extra 1 euro for a little bit of ketchup. Unfortunately not a recommendation!

Attractive bistro & bar location directly on Heidelberg's main street. The decor is chill, good music, the service is very attentive and friendly. There are several beers on tap and drinks are also recommended. Good gin and tonic with high quality gin. There are a few whiskeys on the menu, including a pretty good single malt (rest of blends). Good finger food. In addition to burgers, there is a great salad menu with interesting combinations. Very fresh and good dressing. In any case worth a visit.

The food was delicious and the service was also very friendly. Another plus point was the iced tea from the TradeIsland brand. My companion ate a Jägerschnitzel, which was also good. Only both dishes had a very large portion of salad, which requires the skills of a rabbit to defeat it. All in all, I can absolutely recommend a visit to anyone looking for Mexican food in Heidelberg👍

Good price but staff was not super friendly.

Some of the staff were very unfriendly. Food was okay, some of the beef was very well done and tough. But the portions were very generous and the baked nachos as a starter were also very tasty, and the dips were also good.

Unessbar! 🫣 Die Lammpfanne war komplett in der viel zu heißen Pfanne gekocht ind in einer Sosse, die nach Gulasch schmeckte! Schade ums Lamm! Der Hähnchen-Wrap bestand zu 97% nur aus Paprika, kaum Fleisch drin! Die Holunderschorle war so zitronen-sauer, damit hätte ich meinen Wasserhahn entkalken können! Das Personal sollte einfach ihren Krempel mal selbst probieren, was sie den Kunden anbieten! Zudem war die Rechnung dafür viel zu viel, sorry 70€ für das Essen geht gar nicht!!! Nie mehr, danke.

The price is affordable for inner city conditions and Heidelberg. I have the Mon-Fri offer schnitzel for 13.95. Maybe it was because of the offer or it's always like that, but in any case it was a frozen schnitzel - a bit disappointing. Unfortunately, card payments are only possible from €20.

Fantastic food in both quality and portions. We had Schnitzel and NY Steak .. both were awesome and prepared to perfection. Service was fantastic too. Worth the money and highly recommended. Will visit again when I am back in Heidelberg

On the menu the steak was labeled as a "selected" piece. Unfortunately the wrong one was chosen. Tough and gristly. Not recommended. Tasted good but drowned in sauce. No reaction from the waitress. There was no paper in either toilet.

It has a pleasant atmosphere and beautiful decoration. The light is just right to spend an unforgettable evening in the afternoon (when it is dark outside). The dishes are generous and they serve you well. It has a varied cocktail menu. The truth is that I had a very comfortable dinner in this place. Unbeatable location.

My husband and I are regular customers here and usually love the food and service. We bring every friend or family member who comes to visit. Until our visit today, we have had nothing but good experiences. Today, I brought my friend and 15-year-old niece, and we were immediately treated poorly by the older lady who is a waitress here. We thought she might be having a bad day, but saw her be kind to everyone around us. It was very strange. My niece and I both speak German, but my friend only really speaks English, although I don't know if that had an effect on the following events. There was a misunderstanding over what my friend ordered. When the meal came out, we politely said that was not the right meal. Instead of just moving on and getting the meal replaced, the waitress brought out the menu, made my friend point to what she ordered, very impolitely asked, "And what did you say?" followed by trying to fight all three of us on what my friend said. None of us were rude to her, but this was not only extremely unprofessional but also very shocking and rude. I don't know why it was necessary to try to make my friend look stupid in the first place, much less when the restaurant was already so packed that they couldn't even make any meal adjustments. After this incident, another waiter also treated us quite rudely. Only one waiter was kind after this event occurred despite us being very kind overall. It was so bizarre, and I hope it was a one-time occurrence and just a misunderstanding because the food here really is good, and the younger waitresses and older waiter are incredibly kind and friendly.

Probably some of the best Jager schnitzel I've ever had. Service was good but seemed overwhelmed. The place was hot and needed air conditioning, but that's probably my American sensibilities. Everyone was sweating.

An originally furnished restaurant with quick, very friendly service. The ordered food was served quickly. The rump steak in pepper sauce could have been a little more tender, but was otherwise perfectly fine. The vegetarian hamburger was delicious, the patty had a nice flavor and a slightly crispy crust. Both dishes came with a large portion of fries. The black beer is interesting - delicious! Despite a small deduction for the steak, this is a full five stars.

It was hard to get an outside seat at this Heidelberg eatery. The menu is fun and delicious. Our waitresses were all amazing and so attentive.

Very nice there. Right in the pedestrian zone. Service is totally great. Haven't eaten schnitzel and chicken wings so well in a long time. Can highly recommend a visit and will definitely come back.

The worst service in Heidelberg

We were in a nice restaurant: there was hardly anything going on inside, but all the seats outside were occupied. There were spare ribs with fries and a vegetarian enchilada. The salad with the enchilada was very good. The ribs were super tasty, unfortunately I almost ended up eating the plate - there were almost so few!

Leuke zaak, lekker eten, redelijke cocktails. Prijs is prima, Mexicaanse gerechten zijn een aanrader. Buiten op terras zitten is minder als je met meer dan 4 personen bent.

After waiting in vain for 20 minutes outside and no service ever coming out, I went in to ask if anyone else was coming to take my order. The young gentleman's statement was "no it's raining outside" There was a slight sneeze and the chairs and tables were protected under the parasol. There were also other guests sitting outside. I can't judge the food because I couldn't order anything

Hello, there were five of us and there were only smaller tables available in the restaurant. The service staff reacted immediately and put two small tables together, then a window. You can have a nice view of the street. We ordered schnitzel, salad and spare ribs. Everyone was very happy, the food came very quickly and the portions are really big

Burrito with minced meat was extremely salty, pepper steak a lot of fat and not tender, salad was floating in the sauce. Large portions. A lot of ice in cocktails.

Good schnitzel and the Fatjas was also very tasty, 4 tortilas to fill yourself, Reordering the tortilas is also possible and cheap. Price performance fits here. Come again!

I always enjoyed eating here for years until the quality deteriorated and the prices became more expensive... Today I had a Caesar salad which wasn't tasty because there were a lot of end pieces in it so it wasn't a fresh salad and way too much dressing so everything was dripping created a single mess of dressing and end pieces :( 15€ for nothing and still hungry. Unfortunately I won't be coming anymore.

A su paso por Heidelberg en camino a Stuttgart para la Eurocopa. Paseando por la ciudad cruzamos este lugar para tomar algo. El personal es encantador y muy atento tanto si estás dentro como fuera. La comida es buena, un poco de inspiración mexicana pero costillas y filete junto con vegetariana una opción. Las bromas son buenas en el pub como ambiente. Los inodoros están limpios (y tienen papel higiénico) después de un día ocupado. Lo recomiendo encarecidamente.

We were surprised by the rain and ended up at the Doctor Flotte Restaurant. Really very good, service very nice, the schnitzel with salad and fries was super rare and so good. Conclusion Casual, fast, nice and super tasty!!!!

Uncomplicated and good, with great conditions.

I spent my college junior year in Heidelberg 44 years ago, and Dr Flottes was one of our favorite bars, so I was delighted to revisit recently. The layout has changed slightly, but the service and food were both excellent and very friendly. We had the wienerschnitzel special, which was huge and really good, at a great price. We also went there before dinner for a beer, and then wine with dinner, topped off by a schnapps for dessert. Highly recommended for an authentic German experience that has stood the test of time!

Very nice service, cozy atmosphere, very tasty food, fresh ingredients. Well prepared. We can only recommend it! Had the chicken burrito, fries, steak and chicken fajita (for 2 people) and as a starter mozzarella sticks and the nachos with minced meat. Portions are really big, everyone was full or didn't finish everything. Gladly again!!!

Dear team from the Restaurant Doctor Flotte, Unfortunately, I have to express my displeasure about our last visit to you. We came in a larger group to have a drink and order 10 portions of Aperol. As we sat down on the terrace, we were informed by a waiter that it was not allowed to sit on the terrace without placing a food order. We were surprised that this rule wasn't clearly posted on the outside of the restaurant, and when we asked, we didn't get a clear answer from the waiter or bartender. They simply offered us the boss's phone number to discuss the issue and told us that this was simply not allowed, without further explanation. This experience greatly marred our visit and I will not recommend your restaurant. There seems to be a lack of competence on the part of the staff and a disrespectful attitude towards the guests. Ladies and Gentlemen I would like to complain to you about our visit to the Doctor Flotte restaurant. We came as a large group to have a drink and order 10 portions of aperoles. We sat down on the terrace when a waiter approached us and informed us that we were not allowed to sit on the terrace unless we ordered food. We asked why this wasn't posted on the outside of the restaurant, but the waiter and bartender didn't give us a clear answer. Food: too much salad, not good quality Service: disappointed

Excellent restaurant in Heidelberg - so good we had to eat there twice during a 4 day stay in Heidelberg. You have to try the steak & chicken fajitas for two - absolutely 💯 percent wonderful. We are from the southwest and these fajitas are a match for any we have at home. FANTASTIC

Real rip-off in the middle of Heidelberg city center. A cheap lunch offer is advertised (all schnitzel dishes €13.95) What you get is a ready-made schnitzel and a salad with tasteless tomatoes that are just drowned in salad dressing. If you want sweet potato fries instead of normal fries, you pay a surcharge and then end up with the regular price of €16.95. Not a lunch bargain for the wallet and certainly not for the stomach because the ready-made food was really in our stomachs! McDonald's would have been cheaper and better. Ambience not nice either. Very uncomfortable chairs.

Man wird unfreundlich mit offener Tür aus dem Lokal gejagt. Ich habe freundlich nachgefragt ob ich mein Getränk austrinken darf darauf gab es die patzige Antwort es wär Feierabend obwohl nirgends ersichtlich oder angekündigt.

We went for lunch at Doctor Flotte. The food was super delicious and warm and served with love. We ordered Crispy Chicken and Jäegerschnitzel with blank and white beers. Everything was great. A must visit!

Wir waren positiv überrascht. Die Kellnerinnen und Kellner waren durchweg sehr nett und aufmerksam. Die Essen waren sehr schnell am Platz. Mein Rumpsteak war genau richtig gebraten. Meine Frau hatte überbackene Nudeln, die ihr richtig gut geschmeckt haben.
