I recently visited Fette Kuh, a burger grill place where you order at the counter, pick up your drink, utensils, and then grab your food when it's ready. After the meal, the staff collects the trays. The concept is simple and self-service, but I found the prices a bit high for this type of setup. That said, the burger was delicious—definitely a highlight. However, the fries were a bit of a letdown; we got small, almost leftover pieces. While the taste was fine, they didn't look too appealing.

Unfriendly and rude staff, burgers are ok but to say "the best of Cologne" as many comments do is certainly an exaggeration

As always, there was a lot going on. So there was no room inside and we sat outside. With the temperatures in October there are more relaxed options for eating, but the delicious burgers were worth it for us!

I had high expectations and was rather disappointed. The patty was very good, very beefy, very juicy, but that was it. Burger bun was ice cold and all other ingredients didn't contribute to the taste at all. Fries were very limp and the dips were very bland. Maybe a bad day, but I hoped for more

I'm currently eating a very good cheesy with good fries here. Burger sizzled medium well by the friendly grill master. A bit noisy in the dining room for my taste, and the toilets could also be improved, but friendly service just makes up for it.

The burger was really good! I went for the vegetarian option and compared to other places where the veggie patty is often disappointing, this one really blew me away. The patty was nice and thick and the burger overall was a decent size. A real surprise in terms of taste – the combination with the veggie patty was great! Be sure to try the vegetarian alternative. The fries were crispy and seasoned perfectly. The staff was also super nice and friendly. Absolutely recommended!

This lunchtime we visited the Fette Kuh - a welcoming, clean burger joint with extremely friendly staff. The BBQ burger with meat cooked to a perfect medium rare is an absolute delight, and the fries with skin on are simply delicious. The drinks menu offers a wide selection. All in all, this burger shop is one of the best in Germany - and it is not without reason that it has been successfully represented in Cologne since 2011. Keep it up!

Unfortunately the taste has deteriorated greatly. Sweet potato fries were also out. For 2 normal burgers, a fries and 2 cokes almost 50€ is very steep. I probably won't come back again

Even in a city like Cologne that is blessed with good burger shops, Die Fette Kuh is a highlight. The quality of the meat in particular is unparalleled. Unfortunately, the vegan option is the complete opposite: homemade, but still far below what the competition serves and on the border of edible. Dry and uninspired. Really a shame if you're traveling with vegans/vegetarians. All they have left are the very good fries. But since this is about the main product of 'conventional' burgers, I don't want to deduct any points, because the classic burgers from the Fat Cow are beyond any doubt: simply outstanding. Insider tip: Try the Fette IPA, a very tasty beer. Edit: Three years later and I actually have nothing to add. Still by far the best burger in Cologne Unfortunately the vegetarian burger is still really terrible. The option is actually so bad that my companion didn't eat it. I then tried it and fully understood the decision. This is a shame because there are now really good vegetarian meat alternatives on the market.

Unfortunately, the meat was overcooked, even though it was ordered medium. Already black on the outside, the whole burger had a slightly burnt taste. It was the same with my companion's burger. The fries were very tasty and had good sauces.

If you want burgers in Cologne, then only here! Super juicy, large burgers with the best meat quality. For low carb fans you can also get them all naked - without a bun, on a salad. Garlic fries are a dream - hot, crispy, fresh and delicious. The huge selection of dips is unbeatable (be sure to try the chili chipotle mayo & the habanero sauce - phew) Despite the huge number of customers, orders and stress, the staff is always friendly! :)

In my opinion the best burger shop in Cologne. I've never been disappointed there. Juicy and always super tasty. Always drive across Cologne for a burger from Fette Kuh. So I can only recommend it. You have to have tested it.

The only positive thing about the experience were the fries, which were also grossly overpriced. I had a cheeseburger, fries, and drink for €22.50. The burger was mediocre at best. Bread very dry, patty had zero taste and overall not very good. I wouldn't eat here again and can advise anyone who wants a delicious burger not to

I've been a regular customer for 3 years and actually love this burger place. I was even more disappointed with my order through Wolt and with how errors were handled. I ordered bacon jam fries and a burger cheeseburger with a double patty. When the order arrived I discovered that my fries came without bacon jam (which accounts for a large part of the price) and my burger without the sauce that was always there. In addition, one of the patties was almost done, even though it was ordered medium rare. I tried to reach someone, unfortunately no one answered. So I ate the burger and fries like that. After a later call I was told they would take care of a (partial) refund or send new food. Instead, 25 minutes later (1 1/2 hours after ordering) I simply received the sauce and bacon jam in a bag. I don't know what I'm supposed to do with without fries and burgers, there wasn't a refund or anything like that either. I completely understand that mistakes happen on a stressful evening and I was really friendly on the phone. It's just a shame that errors are handled like this with an order value of €30+, especially because I actually love the store :/ Nevertheless, LG to the team

I tried the "WTV" burger with chips, I liked it because it didn't imitate the flavor of meat. I think it was a mix of cereals and legumes, I found it really interesting, very crunchy and tasty, maybe a bit of a strange mix of flavors with the beetroot, but certainly better than many others! Maybe the mayonnaise didn't excite me, and the chips didn't either, they tasted too much like oil. Everyone was very kind, we arrived close to closing (unbeknownst to us) and still had the opportunity to take a seat. They also have a section of ready-made things like meatballs with sauce in a jar, I thought it was a nice idea! I will definitely come back, even if a little expensive. Two sandwiches, two drinks and two portions of chips cost between €40 and €50

The burgers were good, very tasty, a nice balance of flavors, the truffle and chipotle mayo a must do. They were quick without compromising quality. The crew was kind and nice. I just think it is expensive for not including fries. However, the fries were good as well. We will be back for sure.

I had only heard good things for years and was finally here for the first time with corresponding expectations. Unfortunately the burger was just average, especially the quality of the meat. The asking price of over 40 euros for 2 people for a burger, fries and a drink is far too high. Unfortunately I won't be coming back.

Are the best burgers in Cologne? Certainly! I've been coming here since 2016 and I've always been really satisfied. The meat is very juicy and the toppings are also super good. I particularly like chilli cheese (also on the fries). The store is very small but there is often space for everyone. The employees are super nice and the restaurant is always clean :)

In a fancy burger restaurant, which also has its price (I say that as a Swiss!), you can expect a good burger. Unfortunately the burger was worse than at McDonalds or Burgerking. The bacon was a charred lump and the patty was also completely charred on the outside. Therefore completely inedible as it only tasted burnt! Even the garlic fries only tasted burnt, not at all like salt or garlic. After all, after the complaint we were offered that they would make us a new burger. Still, I'll never go there again!

We were “served” in this relatively expensive burger shop. You have to order food, get drinks and food yourself. The price of this burnt frass is also very high. The burger I ordered was burnt, bacon was as black as coal and the sauces were run of the mill. When we complained they asked us for a new burger and apologized, but we didn't have the time or nerve for it. I wouldn't recommend it.

Hamburgers are very delicious and diverse. Only the cheeseburger's sauce was a little too liquid. Ipa, one of my favorite beers, was also very delicious. Chipotle sauce was the best I've ever had. It's not in the city center, but in terms of price and performance, it was worth it to change our path and visit Die Fette Kuh. I definitely recommend it.

The burgers are okay but not great either. There are much better burger shops in Cologne. Unfortunately the garlic fries were really disappointing. Maybe a little trip to Belgium would be in order to show you how to make fries. I don't think the price-performance ratio is quite right here either. I think €25 for a burger, fries and a drink from a snack-like shop is a bit much.

Nice burger shop with very well-done citizens, but only recommended for eating outside. The shop inside is very small and stuffy. The prices are, like almost everywhere these days, high.

The establishment is quite bad, self-service, the cashier does not know English, the burger was still normal, but the salad tastes terrible, the atmosphere is so-so.

Great Burgers, love the chili cheese burger. There is crunchiness from Bacon with a little kick from the chili 🌶️. Something that interesting as side dish is Flammes Frittes. Be prepared to sit shoulder to shoulder… but it could be fun

Probably eaten here a dozen times. The burgers are always fantastic. The waiting time can be very, very long. The staff is friendly. Seating is relatively rare, but I've never had to eat standing up, no matter how crowded or long the wait was.

Service, ambience and and and everything fits 👍 BUT: 3.4 years ago, the Fette Kuh was known as one of the best citizens in Cologne and the prices, which were already quite high at the time, gave no one a reason to complain about many aspects of the great quality. That's different today. Be it the bread, the meat, the salad (always too little so that you don't even taste it), the cheese...but especially the fries and the aioli. How much I loved eating these things, but everything from the taste to the quality went downhill. The only thing that skyrocketed was the prices, which were a complete disgrace considering what kind of food you were served. Despite all the positive feedback (and still to this day), I can only expressly advise against leaving so much money at the store for nothing and nothing. A disgusting citizen of Mc doesn't matter...even the fries are better😂 It's just a shame...

When we asked at the counter about the sauces when ordering, we were told it was there instead of kindly guiding us through the sauces The ambience is quite moderate and simple And for a restaurant with the feel of a snack bar, the prices are already in the expensive segment.

We had the chilli cheese fries and burger, it was really tasty and filling. They also really care about the customers. If the atmosphere was better, it would be even better.

The food is incredibly good! What bothered me was the volume of the order announcements. Of course this has to be the case when the store is full. However, I found it annoying. But I would come back for the burgers and the Putine!!!

I thought we'd try again, but this was definitely the last time! I don't understand the hype! The weekly burger with pamesan bun... is that supposed to be a joke... The 3 crumbs are supposed to be parmesan! I wouldn't even mention that on the menu! The garlic fries were completely dripping with oil, soggy and disgusting! €6.60 for that 😤 The ailoi was definitely not an aioli, but something undefined. Oh and to top it off, you have to wait almost an hour for this meal! 👎🏼 Thank you NO!

Yesterday my family and I went to the FETTEN KUH in Cologne for the first time and all four of us were completely thrilled. My husband said this is the best burger he has ever eaten, the meat was perfect. As a vegetarian, I chose the vegan burger, it tasted so good! Ordering was very quick and the children were so fascinated that they could watch through the window as our food was freshly prepared. The employees were all totally relaxed, courteous and super friendly, even though there was a lot to do. We had our food, which was too much, packed up. We'll definitely be back soon! Everything perfect!

This was our second visit to the fat cow and this time I had two friends with me as I had wanted to recommend this shop to them for a long time. I spoke highly of this from the start, even though my first visit was three years ago. What can I tell you? Wonderful, for me definitely the best, juiciest, highest quality burger in all of Kölle. I had the killer burger with two 200g patties each (400g total). Taming this was quite difficult, but still possible at the end of the day. The meat was medium and you can taste the quality. Incredibly good, a taste explosion. My companions both had the cheeseburger and were also very satisfied. We shared the garlic fries with chili chipotle mayo and the truffle mayo. Neither taste is artificial and the two sauces have a rather light aromatic note. Doesn't take away all of the flavor from the fries. Rather underlines this. Both very tasty. The coleslaw seemed to be homemade for my taste, the cabbage was still relatively chewy and tasted very tasty. The marinade and the sour note of the vinegar also harmonized perfectly. Not the last time, this will definitely be my regular burger shop in Cologne.

Peter Gustavsen rarely gives five stars, but when he does, he's really convinced. Arno and I set out on a constant search for culinary gems. Since we had already heard a lot of good things about this place from our friends, we decided to give the fat cow its well-deserved chance. The building makes a fairly inconspicuous impression, but is surrounded by places that you as a "foodie" have at least heard of. Arno and I both ordered a cheeseburger and water and shared fries. The young lady we ordered from was quite friendly, so we gave the service four stars, as long as you can rate it without an actual waiter. The burgers arrived after a while and the place started to fill up with a diverse range of ages, which is a really good sign. When we finally picked up the burgers, I greedily took a bite out of this culinary creation. The feelings I felt when I was fed can hardly be put into words. The song “Le matin by Peer Gynt” (0:50-1:24 minutes) can describe it well. To sum it up: the exquisite ingredients completely fulfilled the taste equation. Arno could only confirm this extraordinary experience! Therefore, it is no wonder that this is not cheap meat but rather high-quality and particularly fresh grass-fed meat. The cow certainly had a very fulfilling and magnificent life. I definitely tasted that when I ate it. The fries were also very good, but more in the four star range. Moon prices via service providers like Wolt. On the service provider portals everything costs 2-5€ more and then there are promotions that go to the “normal” price. We all understand that service providers like Wolt charge, but +5€ for a burger is outrageous.
