DEVA Hotel Restaurant Fischerwirt in Ruhpolding

It's a shame that the rooms are stuck in the 80s or even 70s. A clash of styles as far as the eye can see, but the cleanliness is all the more commendable. Despite the very dated furnishings, the large room was very clean. I can only praise everything else: the hotel, the location, the service, and also the food (4-course dinner included in the package) were top-notch. Definitely recommended for a stopover. Please renovate your rooms, and we'd love to spend at least 14 days with you.

The food was excellent! There were 13 of us, and everyone loved it! However, we're deducting one star for the long wait. We were warned in advance that it might take a while, but waiting over an hour felt quite long. But the wait was definitely worth it in the end; the food is absolutely delicious! However, if you come very hungry, it can be a challenge.

The excellent food is particularly noteworthy: natural products prepared with delicious ingredients. And it's a feast for the eyes, too! A good selection of dishes! The rooms are furnished with old furniture, but are clean! The breakfast is excellent.

We went there for dinner. My liver and Kaiserschmarren (smothered pancakes) were delicious. The service was very friendly and welcoming. We highly recommend it as a place to eat. I can't say anything about the rooms. The price/performance ratio is okay and appropriate for what's offered.

The food in the restaurant is truly exceptional. The dishes are truly creative, delicious, and beautifully presented. Service was also excellent. One star deducted, however, because, contrary to the information on Google, there was a step into the restaurant and also onto the terrace, making it difficult to get in and out with a wheelchair. This can be easily remedied with a small ramp. However, everything in the restaurant and on the terrace is on the same level.

After almost 2 hours of waiting and several inquiries, we left hungry

The first impression was very good, but disappointment followed relatively quickly. The restaurant wasn't very busy when we arrived. Ordering drinks was a bit cumbersome, but OK. When ordering food, we were told it could take 40-45 minutes. Which was fine for us as a group of 13. After 1:15 hours, the first 5 meals arrived. They were only lukewarm, however. They were delivered in a pan that you could touch with your hands. The fried potatoes were only lukewarm; I had ordered them with chanterelles, but I had to search for them. Instead, there were more mushrooms, which weren't on the menu. Everything was also very greasy. The rest of the meals took even longer to arrive. After almost 2 hours, another meal arrived, which was also only lukewarm. The kids had sausage salad, which came next, after 2 hours. Mind you, 2 hours, we're talking about a cold meal for the kids. The rest of the meals arrived after 2:20. Here, only half of the ordered ingredients remained on the plate, and again, they were only lukewarm. Other guests who arrived later had received their food (some of them the same food) earlier, had already paid, and left. The waitress was surprised that we were no longer as positive about the food. She said she had told us it would take longer. Mind you, she said something like 40-45 minutes. Not more than 2 hours. Unfortunately, one has to say that hospitality is something else entirely. She also didn't understand how this could have been communicated differently.

Very nice accommodation in a beautiful location. However, it's not very suitable for vegetarians, as the vegetarian dishes are always served as a side dish to the meat dishes.

We booked here for five days, and we had breakfast and dinner. The food was simply fantastic. We had breakfast and a four-course dinner in the evening, and even the smallest requests for changes were accommodated immediately. The food was incredibly delicious; it was incredibly perfect, both in taste and appearance. The service was also very good, although at times you had the feeling the staff barely understood you. The town is well connected, and we went on many excursions. Unfortunately, we had to rent an e-bike at Lake Chiemsee, as the hotel mountain bikes aren't suitable for 70-year-olds.

Good location, very good service – rooms with room for improvement We stayed at the hotel for a week, including breakfast and dinner. The location is ideal for excursions around Ruhpolding – quiet, with beautiful mountain views. The Chiemgau Card as an extra was great. The rooms are unfortunately quite dated. The furnishings, mattresses, and the condition of the furniture seem in need of renovation. The Wi-Fi was also barely usable. On the other hand, the food was truly excellent – ​​breakfast and dinner of a very high standard. Kudos to the kitchen! We would particularly like to highlight the service in the restaurant. Two employees – a young woman and a young man with a full beard – were consistently professional, attentive, and very friendly. You rarely experience service like this! A request for the hotel owner: Please extend a big thank you to your entire restaurant team – and especially to these two employees who significantly improved our stay. Conclusion: The rooms have potential for improvement, but the service, food, and location impressed us.

The food and hotel location were great. The young staff were also always very pleasant. Unfortunately, the room was rather dated and in need of an update. Mainly because the mattresses were sagging and the bed squeaked. This kept waking the other guests up. A solution for faster Wi-Fi would be desirable.

We stayed at the Hotel Fischerwirt for a long weekend. It was a very pleasant stay. The room without a balcony was quite dated and in need of renovation. The balcony room was good – and the view from the balcony was simply fantastic, directly onto the Rauschberg. The staff is great. Everyone is very friendly, courteous, and helpful. The breakfast is plentiful, with eggs, meatloaf, cold cuts, cheese, fruit salad, muesli, yogurt – basically everything! The dinner included in the half-board package was also very good. The absolute highlight is the Chiemgau Card, which allows you to use all the attractions in the area for free: cable cars, outdoor pools, swimming pools, etc. It's fantastic. We visited the nearby Kneipp pool every evening to cool off. The hotel's e-mountain bikes were also great. Overall, it was a thoroughly successful weekend!

Wir waren sehr zufrieden. Das Essen war total lecker und auch mal etwas ausgefallener jedoch mit Zutaten die alle kennen. Der kleine Spielplatz ist super für Kinder. Zudem wurden dem Kind Buntstifte und ein Blatt zum ausmalen gebracht was die Wartezeit aufs Essen sehr angenehm macht. Der Blick von der Terrasse aus in die Berge ist auch super schön.

We were passing through and spent one night at the Fischerwirt. There and back 😌! The room isn't modern chic... but it's still a very pleasant place to stay. The kitchen is excellent... the food is really good 👍. It was fun to eat. The breakfast is also good... there's something for everyone. Fresh rolls are really delicious. The staff is very accommodating and relaxed, which I personally like.

The dinner menu could be improved in terms of taste (sometimes a bit bland). The service is unobtrusive but still very friendly. While the room furnishings are dated, everything is still very clean.

I'm actually only rating the restaurant here, because ultimately we slept well, the rooms were clean, and the beds were comfortable. Regarding the restaurant: The server was friendly, but I had to maintain eye contact for a long time to be noticed; there were only two tables occupied. But OK, it was late and everyone was tired. We got our food; we were very hungry. Just looking at the mush, my boyfriend and I knew this wasn't homemade cheese spaetzle! A mixture of unidentifiable cheese and lots of cream. We were really hungry after the hard day's hiking; I couldn't... These were the most disgusting things I've ever eaten. The cheese wasn't quite OK either, and my otherwise not-fussy partner, who was only hungry, said he'd never eaten something so disgusting. I sent the almost full plate back with my cutlery crossed! I was expecting a question! But the moment I was asked if I enjoyed it, and I said a cold no, the waitress's expression became very unfriendly. She took the plate, turned around, and didn't even ask why! What a nerve. Since we wanted to pay in cash, we were given an interim receipt. I asked for the bill. Confused, the man taking the money asked me, "What? I repeat, the bill, please." After asking for it three times, he realized I was serious. As if he didn't want to print it out for us! I was seriously considering reporting this to the tax office!

We spent a lovely holiday in this hotel. Rooms are a bit old, but the high level of hygiene and cleanliness made you feel very comfortable. The half board (a breakfast buffet and 4 course menu in the evening) was great. You didn't have to miss anything important at breakfast. Fresh baked goods, coffee, egg variations, juice as well as sausage and cheese are available fresh every day. We can only praise the dinner, you can choose between 3 options for the main course, and if necessary, allergies/intolerances can also be reported. The view from the hotel is very beautiful and quiet. E-bikes can be rented by the day, which is great for exploring the area. Golf course right next door.

Nice service, but the dinner menu was a complete disaster. Taste wise a 1 out of 10. Price-performance ratio totally inappropriate. Unfortunately, the pictures of the dining room/restaurant do not correspond to reality either. In any case, we were accommodated for dinner in a completely different room, far away from the rooms advertised on the homepage. Rooms are not rated because accommodation was in sister hotel Alpenglück.

We were only there for Christmas dinner. The tables were very nicely set. Napkins were arranged in the shape of fans. Very nice service. The boss himself came out to us and wished us a Merry Christmas. The food and wine were very good and coordinated with each other. Finally there was Jägermeister with a sip of cream. That was really great!

In September we came from the Salzkammergut on our bikes towards home in the Allgäu. The rooms are not up to date but that's not a problem, the price-performance ratio was very good. The rooms are clean with a large balcony and great views and the breakfast is absolutely great. We felt very comfortable in this house.

Unfortunately it was far too warm in the room. The heating could not be regulated. The mattresses were very saggy.

The rooms are rather very rustic. The bathrooms from the 80s. But hey, price performance fits. The rooms are clean and spacious, the mattresses are good. What is particularly worth emphasizing is the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff. Breakfast is rich and leaves nothing to be desired. The hot dishes can be warmer. Dinner wasn't that great. The main course was far too oily and the dessert was just sticky sweet.

We had a room with a balcony, bathroom with shower and toilet. As has often been described, the furniture is a bit old, but it was very clean and well maintained. The mattress in the bed took a lot of getting used to. The breakfast was outstanding, lots of choice and it was constantly refilled. The hotel offers a great starting point for activities and is about 25 minutes on foot from the city center.

On the last few days of my almost four-week hike through the Alps, I came to the Fischerwirt. I arrived later and it was already dark. I received such a warm welcome, the food was outstanding and the service and attention was great. The breakfast was excellent, you are a great team and thank you for the little farewell gift.

Location is very nice, also the view. Food was excellent. Room.... Well... sink next to the bed... zero storage space. When you get out of the shower it's like a peep show. There are no curtains on the windows opposite! Since it's a double room, there's another person in the room who can see how you're getting ready from A to Z. Depending on who is there, this can be very uncomfortable (for me as a woman). Please could this be solved differently! Otherwise very dark inside, a bit of color and light and it would be friendlier....

The rooms urgently need to be renovated. The mattresses are worn out. The carpets are dirty. The staff speaks poor German. Breakfast is OK. I cannot recommend this hotel. There are also no pictures of the bathrooms on the website. There's a reason for that. They are 70's bathrooms and the shower in the room is just bricked out and the sink is opposite the bed. At least the toilet is extra.

Nice hotel that we found for a stopover in Austria. We arrived late and were warmly welcomed by Saveli and Alina. The restaurant offered great dishes. We had a really fantastic meal here. The service was friendly and the atmosphere with the panorama on the terrace is simply excellent. We can really recommend it.

The bathroom was very large and new, the rest of the room was very large, but some of the furniture, floors and doors were very old and visually damaged. Check-in was great and was possible at any time using a key safe. The breakfast buffet was large and tasty, but the vegan selection was very limited (we missed margarine, hummus, and a vegetable spread, for example). For the price of the night we would have expected everything to be a bit more modern and new, but everything was functional and cleaned.

I had to stay overnight here for work reasons and found out late in the evening that I couldn't log into the Internet to send an important report with video to the company. I did get to the WiFi, but then it was over. So I had no choice but to buy extra volume from a provider. Unfortunately, the dinner was overcooked (lumberjack steak extra extra cooked), which also explains the long wait for it. The room and the toilet have a "rustic" charm. I advise business travelers who need a stable internet connection to stay at this hotel.

It's basically just a guesthouse, and you won't find a reception desk. The beautiful location with a view of the Rauschberg is certainly positive. The biggest weak point, on the other hand, is the staff, who only speak a few words to the guest, or even greet them several times, and are completely ignored. If you're looking for a place to sleep but don't want any other contact (as in hotels with automatic check-in only), this is the place for you.

To the restaurant: We had dinner with four people. We had to wait over 75 minutes for our food, you can still understand that, unfortunately we all got our main courses at different times, you can still understand that if the restaurant had been full... There were a maximum of 10 guests in the restaurant... Two of us also got the wrong main course. When we paid we had to pay for the expensive wrong dishes that we hadn't even ordered. Staff extremely unfriendly! We're definitely not going there again!

I have known Chiemgau for over 30 years. I lived in Reit im Winkl for a while. I then became a regular guest at the Hotel Sonnleiten, which later became part of the DEVA Hotel Ressort. Since Reit im Winkl was full, I went to Ruhpolding for a short vacation. The weather and the hotel were all perfect. Many greetings from your regular guest Margaret Heeger. Wir waren heute Abend zum Essen da. Es war einfach wunderschön. Angefangen bei der super Bewirtung. Das Personal war zu jeder Zeit immer sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Das Essen war sehr gut. Die Qualität ist perfekt und es soooo lecker. Ich verstehe die schlechten Bewertungen nicht. Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder. Nochmals ein dickes Lob an die Menschen der Küche die alles so gut und liebevoll zubereitet haben und an die Bedingungen die für einen unvergesslichen Abend gesorgt haben....DANKESCHÖN 👍👍👍😊

We had a very pleasant time here. The rooms are certainly no longer the newest, but everything is clean and tidy. The breakfast and dinner were impeccable. The staff were very accommodating and friendly. We also borrowed e-bikes from the hotel for our stay, which we really liked. The hotel is very quiet and is perfect for getting out into nature. The bottom line is that we would be happy to come back at any time.
