DER SCHNITZELKAISER Restaurant „Zur Post“ in Tangermünde

The name is quite misleading, because the restaurant is certainly not an emperor. The waitress tried her best to explain, but couldn't console us about the bland taste of the admittedly huge schnitzel. They deliberately didn't add any seasoning so that each guest could do it themselves according to their taste. Hello? You could add salt and pepper to the fried potatoes and mushrooms yourself, but it was difficult to season the schnitzel and the breading. A little bacon and onion would definitely have benefited the fried potatoes. The dish was also carelessly prepared, not a green stalk, not a piece of lettuce, nothing. And for that 21 euros, man, man, man.

Absolute recommendation! The schnitzels are really delicious and recommended. The service was also really impeccable. Very nice people! Will definitely come back!

The restaurant "Zur Post" is well located on the main street of Tangermünde. German food makes you hungry and schnitzel is always delicious. Inside you are transported back at least 40 years and unfortunately it still smells a lot like old smoke. But the food was good and the price was okay. Unfortunately the ambience is not my thing.

It's good that the world keeps turning... laugh! I was at the Schnitzelkaiser for the first time about 10 years ago. Back then I ordered the Kaiserschnitzel Karl IV... 500gr. A WHOLE cauliflower on the schnitzel is amazing. Thank God it's history. Otherwise: if you want to be full, you're in good hands here! Greeting And those who are always complaining and can't put a fried egg in the pan at home deserve to be rebuffed!

We are repeat offenders. We just like the cozy restaurant with the many different decorations. Plus, everything is so rustic and there are hardly any restaurants like this anymore. The schnitzels are simply delicious and huge. I had to have half of it packed up. We had Viennese-style schnitzel with lukewarm potato salad with bacon + onions and a gypsy schnitzel with French fries. Both schnitzels were really delicious, not too dry and well seasoned. The fries were amazing for me. Super tasty, crispy on the outside, very well seasoned and still soft on the inside. The potato salad, served lukewarm, was fine and reliable, but it didn't blow me away. What I always like here is the macaroni, which is used as a straw replacement in the Aperol Sprizz. We were served super friendly. Even later, when the restaurant was getting busier, the hard-working ladies still had a joke and a smile on their faces. If you like schnitzel and large portions, this is 100% the right place for you. We'd love to come back.

Everything was great so far, unfortunately the starter soup was only lukewarm (Soljanka) The main course was a bit weak, but everything was good, you can season it yourself 😉and the portions are mega big 👍🏿 The ambience is great if you like old-fashioned furnishings, everything was kept very dark , Staff is friendly and accommodating 👍🏿👍🏿 I can recommend it 👍🏿

Although there were no other guests there, we had to wait a long time for service. It was only after calling twice that the lady came to the table and took the order in a very unfriendly manner. Drinks were brought and simply placed on the table and asked who got which drink. Food was ok, could have been warmer. Will not visit this restaurant again. A little tip to the waitress if the job isn't fun then look for something else. That doesn't work at all

We had a voucher and wanted to redeem it for a leisurely lunch. So we ordered schnitzel twice with mushrooms and fried potatoes. But what we got was anything but what we expected. The fried potatoes were dripping with fat and were black on one side, the other side was not fried at all, no trace of taste. Unfortunately it was the same with the champions. Yes, and then the schnitzel looked pretty good from the top. But only there, because the back wasn't fried at all and was just covered in fat. There was also no decpration on the plate! Finally, there is the price, which is €19.50/person. believed. We complained about the food to the chef and had it returned. He was in no way receptive to my criticism. I just thought that everything was good with the food and that we should eat somewhere else if we didn't like it. In any case, we cannot recommend the Restaurant Zur Post as any chip shop can do better for less money.

I came from Berlin and had lunch with my friend from Stendal. No pre-order, a table was assigned straight away. The rustic atmosphere immediately appealed to me. The service was super nice and friendly and the schnitzel with champions and 🍟 was so delicious. You had to wait a bit for the food but since it is freshly prepared you are happy to wait a few minutes longer. Big praise. You can search for such German restaurants with a candle. I can only recommend it.

We were there on a Saturday at 1 p.m. and just wanted to eat a schnitzel. We waited to be offered a seat but instead we were told that we couldn't order anything to eat until we were 5 p.m. Although there were people waiting outside for their food and at 3pm where we drove past there were also people sitting outside with food.

We were traveling spontaneously and wanted to eat in Tangermünde. Although many tables were reserved, we still got two seats. The memory card was very good, and there was also schnitzel with asparagus. The schnitzels, my husband had schnitzel 'Hubertus' and I had chicken schnitzel 'Wellness', were great... Any time again.

I celebrated my 60th there at the beginning of January. Already registered on October 23rd. When we arrived there in the evening, we were 14 people, and were offered two tables. One on the right, one on the left. No table, as is actually normal. And if you have that If the room divider had been removed it wouldn't have been a problem. Nothing indicated a reservation or celebration. Guess we forgot. The previously offered gallery was too narrow for us. As I said, 14 people were registered. The gallery had space for ten people. We all also noticed the very harsh and snarky service, I think the Schnitzel Empress herself. I have eaten there several times and knew the resolute nature of the waitress, but this time it was too much. We will I won't be coming back, there are plenty of other restaurants to choose from. It's a shame, because everyone enjoyed the food. But that's not all, is it?

We stopped in to have something to drink. It was cold outside, so the delicious wedding soup came in handy. Our dog got a treat. We were all very satisfied 😃.

We spontaneously stopped by here on a Saturday. The restaurant was almost empty. We found the service to be very unfriendly. Could be that it was because we only ordered drinks and two soups (because we weren't hungry and just wanted to warm up). Nevertheless, you can receive a friendly welcome and service. The service staff preferred to chat and make phone calls. When we got the two soups, it was clear to us that nothing here was fresh. It was just convenience and done. Just warmed up. There wasn't even a slice of toast or bread. In any case, despite being dissatisfied, we tipped out of decency. No thanks were given. We didn't say goodbye either. If you can still afford to treat your guests like that in this day and age, then hats off!
