It's nice, good beer, good food but nothing to remember. Service and atmosphere definitely give it a higher rating. Worth a visit even just to drink a beer.

Depot 1899 was a recommendation and yes, I can really pass on this recommendation. Great location and the service is top. Even though we were a larger group, everything went very quickly and to our complete satisfaction. Great selection of dishes. From classic to special ones, including vegan, lactose-free, etc., everything is catered for.

Tolles Ambiente, nur sollte man bei den Speisen nicht zuviel erwarten. Bedienungen freundlich aber mehr beschäftigt miteinander schwätzen zu halten als zu schauen welche Gäste nichts mehr zu trinken haben. Für mich kein Grund nochmal hinzugehen.

Great location, we had our Christmas party there. Food was underwhelming. It was just halfway warm and the red cabbage had a long warming time and the taste was ok. The creme brule was not recognizable as such and the chocolate pancake with filling was very cold and almost tasteless

Were there for brunch. Food selection and quality are just average. Drinks were extra and took longer. The place is very nicely decorated and the whole building is flooded with light through the huge windows

We had Christmas brunch with the family today and we were all very satisfied. The price-performance ratio is very good, and we were amazed at the very moderate drink prices for this location. All the dishes were delicious, it tasted good and we were full. All the people who served us were super friendly and, above all, on their toes, which is no longer a given in the restaurant industry. What was special was the waffle station, which handed out freshly made waffles to guests. A good idea. We would be happy to come back from the Wetterau! The entire group says thank you for this wonderful and successful Christmas Day!

The food there is very much “finished food”. The taste is really just “okay”. Nothing was refilled at the buffet, the service was also catastrophic, you had to get the drinks yourself at the bar. I've also been to the a la carte shop here before and it wasn't anything great.

Good alternative for eating out with large groups. Space available to rent for large events. Overall, a harmonious package with a good price/performance ratio.

My calculation wasn't quite right. I paid €1.30 too much (the receipt was only given to me later: with an incorrect item and a tip "revaluation" that I did not initiate, but what also leads to my poor assessment is that the costs of the food and drinks menu (website) sometimes do not correspond to the costs of the invoice. Not good. Ps.: I only checked the receipt at home.

We recently attended our company's 2024 Christmas party at this venue. While the atmosphere and service were commendable, the food left much to be desired. The steak was overly chewy, and the chicken satay was served cold, which disappointed not just me but several colleagues as well. Unfortunately, the overall menu felt quite standard and lacked standout dishes. It’s a shame, as the setting and attentive service had so much potential to elevate the experience.

Today I was able to try out the delicious buffet at brunch together with the TuS Niedereschbach handball club and I have to say, I was thrilled. Not only are the employees incredibly friendly and kind, the food is wonderful and there are even waffles that are freshly prepared in front of you in the morning. There is also a very large selection of different dishes so that everyone can find something tasty. It's hard to get better! The location is great, the furnishings clearly show attention to detail and the historical flair creates a very special ambience. I can only recommend this restaurant (and especially the brunch) to everyone and look forward to coming back!

A really great restaurant that I've known for years. What the staff achieves in terms of consistent quality both in the kitchen and in the service is really impressive. Even in large groups, you won't be left out as a single guest and will be served just as attentively. I've never had a bad meal there. And the industrial style ambience is simply tasteful and beautiful. Always my pleasure! A huge compliment to everyone involved.

While the surrounding restaurants are full, it was rather empty there. Understandable, as the food is rather mediocre. It's a shame, because the location used to be a real hotspot. Lots of space, but somehow sleepy and stuck in time.

We eat really great. Had the pumpkin wild burger - a dream! Service was super friendly but not really present. But we also sat way back and there was really a lot going on. The ambience is of course also impressive, but due to its size it is also very loud.

The food was okay. The service was very friendly and the food was served quickly. The location is very large and cozy. Despite its size, you can have a good time and have a nice evening.

Great location, great service, delicious food

In summer you can sit outside well. I didn't find it very comfortable inside. I found the price of the potato soup too expensive for the quantity (approx. 1 soup ladle). What bothered me was that there seemed to be several waiters responsible for each table, which gave the impression of confusion. I was talking to a waiter and a second person came over and intervened. Someone different drinks each time. WHO should you tip then?

It was our first time eating there and it tasted very good. Nice atmosphere, a little noisy but not bad😉 Will definitely come back 😊

Our friends suggested it and it was really nice! Food was tasty, drinks were cold, service was good 👍. We sat outside under the umbrella and it was a nice breeze. Bathrooms were clean and staff were speaking English, really good experience!

We went to this restaurant as a group during the Euros and it was really great. The friendly and attentive service is particularly noteworthy. The next time I'm in Frankfurt, I'll go to Depot 1899 again.

Centrally and ideally located. Service is not intrusive, works very quickly and, above all, with each other. Appetizing tapas and dishes. Visually beautifully presented desserts. Good wines on tap. The prices are quite reasonable.

I celebrated my 25th birthday with my company there yesterday and it was great, the food was super tasty, had a starter platter (forgot photos of it 😅), great selection of main courses and desserts, great service team, very friendly, competent and helpful. It was a successful evening, I can only recommend it!

Delicious food and good drinks.

We didn't like the food, the fried potatoes were anything but fried potatoes. Hardly any flavor and not seasoned and cut into thick slices. The schnitzel wasn't good either, little meat and a lot of breading. For almost 19 euros without salad you can expect more! The only good things were the naturally cloudy beer and the ambience. Going for a drink is okay, but eating is no.

Unfortunately the quality has deteriorated greatly. Had Frankfurter Schnitzel, the sauce was okay but the schnitzel was anything but tasty, when the sauce ran out you couldn't eat it anymore. The fried potatoes were also tasteless and undercooked. Colleague had the Wirthausschnitzel, which was also bad in taste. The only good thing was the beer. Our feedback about the food was ignored, so we went to another restaurant and continued with dessert and more drinks.

Das Frankfurter Schnitzel mit der grünen Soße war fantastisch! They have Köstritzer on tap too, which is one of my favorites. Their English is not great, so make sure you can speak at least a little German. I came here when Frankfurt was playing in the final game of the Bundesliga. Watched the game in the back room with some friends. Great place to watch a game! Great food, great beer, great atmosphere, und great people.

Very cosy. Nice staff who all spoke English. Tasty German dishes. Only dessert was disappointing. Indefinable pieces of cold food on the plate. Besides ice cream and heavy brownies.

Das Depot 1899 ist in der Mittagszeit eine gute Möglichkeit eine Kleinigkeit zu essen. Preise sind moderat was man auch daran erkennen kann , das „best ager“ dort mittags dort einkehren. Das ist immer ein gutes Barometer 😄 Bei den Speisen bitte keine besonderen Dinge erwarten. Es ist grundsolide, mehr nicht. Wie soll das auch gehen bei den Preisen. In den Abendstunden ist es ein hotspot, wo sich eine Reservierung dringend empfiehlt.

Great Frankfurt restaurant in the former tram depot, within walking distance of the Südbahnhof. As expected, delicious dishes with “grie sauce”. The ambience in the interior is a perfect mix of the old heritage of the depot and modern design elements. The staff is always very friendly and service-oriented! Card payment is possible, a customer toilet is available in the basement.

We came across this venue totally by chance on a stroll one evening and what a find it was. The restaurant is housed in an old tram depot, hence the name, and as such has a high ceiling with a mezzanine floor. As veggies we were well catered to, we had craved spatzle for our trip and here it was served with a cheese sauce and onions really very good. This we washed down with their own brand Schwartzbeer. Staff were attentive but not fussy. We were lucky it was late afternoon but it soon filled up so if you are late diners I would suggest booking, you would not regret it.

I had dinner with a good friend last night. We both ordered the Frankfurter Schnitzel with green sauce and fried potatoes for 17.90. The taste was ok, so nothing really special. What was noticed negatively was that, and this is simply incomprehensible, why we were each served 2 small schnitzels. The schnitzels were all the same size (formed meat or whatever). Furthermore, the schnitzels were from the deep fryer. Seriously, why do you become a chef if you serve schnitzel from the deep fryer? It's simply incomprehensible! Where is the chef's honor? I don't go to a restaurant to eat pressed meat from the deep fryer for 17.90. The fried potatoes were anything but fried potatoes or crispy. Presumably cooked and briefly browned in the pan. I also suspect they must have come from the warming drawer. Because real fried potatoes look different. Maybe something can be changed in the kitchen in the future. Service was attentive and good. Ambiance too. Unfortunately, I don't know at the moment whether I'll eat there again. I don't expect the same large molded schnitzel from the deep fryer for a lot of money in a restaurant. I'm willing to pay more if the quality is right. Unfortunately, here it is definitely not true. SORRY!

After a few years we went there again and were very disappointed. To justify the low star award: in our opinion, the food preparation and what you find on the plate are quite unloving and, above all, unimaginative. It gives the impression that there may not be a real chef in the kitchen or that he doesn't feel like it and therefore the dishes are bland. Directly at the table the service is friendly, the young ladies try very hard but are not trained in any way. The number of staff is high, but it is very unpleasant that the employees are only busy with themselves and each other and have little eyes for the guests. You can't really complain about the ambience, but nothing has changed in years, so there's little incentive. The Wirtshaus Schnitzel is definitely not recommended.

A huge restaurant with very friendly staff. It is highly recommended for groups, but requires advance booking. The food is down-to-earth and delicious. The fried potatoes swim in the oil, but it's still tasty. The staff is friendly and attentive.

The ambience is nice and big, but that sometimes takes away from the coziness. It's always a loud background noise. Food is great. Very suitable for older people at lunchtime. I go there often with my mother.

Bin mit dem Brunch am 25 Dezember sehr enttäuscht. es gab sehr wenig Auswahl an Frühstück (keine Waffeln, Crêpes, Früchte etc.). Eine Flasche Wasser hat 8 Euro gekostet. Ich kann’s nicht empfehlen.

All was good except washrooms are located in the cellar despite the place having 2 floors for hosting big events.

Tolles und mega leckeres Essen in einem sehr schönen Ambiente. Personal gut gelaunt, freundlich und professionell. Ein Restaurant /Location wo man sich als Gast sehr wohl fühlt.

Wir waren zur Firmenfeier dort und es hat soweit alles sehr gut funktioniert. Essen vom Buffet war lecker und wurde ständig frisch nachgefüllt

Wir waren vor einer Veranstaltung im Südbahnhof kurz auf einen Drink hier, von daher kann ich keine Bewertung für Essen abgeben. Service, Getränke und Ambiente kann ich dagegen sehr empfehlen, wir haben sehr entspannt und gemütlich hier gesessen, es war zwar ziemlich viel Betrieb, aber man konnte sich bei der Unterhaltung noch gut verstehen. Mit mehreren Leuten sollte man auf jeden Fall vorher reservieren. Aufgrund der Nähe zum Südbahnhof prima mit der Bahn zu erreichen, oder mit dem Auto ins Parkhaus um die Ecke. Das hat sogar 24 Stunden geöffnet und der Nachttarif ist günstig.

Not a bad restaurant by any means but at the same time nothing special. The variety of the dishes is not very big, the prices are a bit high for what you get. Waiters are friendly.

Das Catering war in Ordnung aber mehr auch nicht, leider nur 2 hauseigene Biere - die Übrigen sind Industriestandard. Der Service wirkte ein wenig überfordert. Hätte alles in allem mehr erwartet.

Das Ambiente des Restaurants ist charmant und einladend. Das Menü ist vielseitig und ansprechend. Die Gerichte, die wir probiert habe, waren nicht nur köstlich, sondern auch kunstvoll präsentiert. Die Küche ist offensichtlich sehr talentiert und legt Wert auf hochwertige Zutaten. Der Service verdient besondere Anerkennung. Das Personal war freundlich, aufmerksam und äußerst kompetent. Sie waren bereit, Empfehlungen auszusprechen und sich um jeden unserer Wünsche zu kümmern. Insgesamt können wir das Restaurant Depot 1899 in Frankfurt nur wärmstens empfehlen. Es ist der ideale Ort für ein romantisches Abendessen, eine Feier oder einfach nur, um exquisite Küche in historischem Ambiente zu genießen. Wir freuen uns schon auf den nächsten Besuch!

Wir waren mit unserem Firmen-Event und knapp 60 Partnern im Depot 1899. Von der Planung bis zum Ende des Events hat alles super geklappt. Schon bei der Planung schnell, hilfsbereit und entgegenkommend. Alle Gänge des Menüs waren lecker und perfekt zubereitet, Service schnell und freundlich und alles lief rund. Auch unsere vegetarischen / veganen Gäste bzw Gäste mit Unverträglichkeiten wurden super versorgt und sind glücklich (und satt) nach Hause gegangen. Vielen Dank für den gelungenen Abend, jederzeit gerne wieder.

Die Käsespätzle waren sehr lecker. Der Schwerpunkt liegt auf Gerichten mit Fleisch, es gibt nicht so viele vegetarische Gerichte. Die Einrichtung ist nicht so modern, aber die hohen Decken sind beeindruckend. Der service war nett, wirkte aber noch etwas unsicher.

Leckeres Essen, schöne Atmosphäre, und sehr nettes Personal. Ich habe das Schnitzel mit grüner Soße bestellt, war perfekt. Auch das Dessert war sehr kreativ und lecker. Kurzum, cooler Ort für ein paar Drinks, was zum Essen, oder beides 👌
