A wonderful restaurant. A diverse menu where everyone should find their own meal. And most importantly: it tastes good. Plus a very friendly, individual service. The only thing that isn't great is the volume in the full house. But it fits the atmosphere and is therefore definitely recommended and worth a visit.

The food was incredibly tasty, the drinks were spectacular and the atmosphere was really nice and cozy. Many thanks to Fredi and his colleagues for the magical evening yesterday!!

Great food, great service sometimes a bit too loud but highly recommended

My opinion: The ingredients on the tarte flambée (vegetarian) weren't fine or delicate enough. Everything was far too coarse and chunky. I don't think that's ideal for a tarte flambée. Ravioli with spinach and ricotta weren't seasoned enough. Salt and pepper were available on the table, but overall the dish lacked zest. Ambience was good. Perhaps a little too warm. Value for money OK! The server was in a good mood and in a joking mood. He was trying to be funny. I personally don't like it when servers act silly. Sometimes it just seems a bit over the top. I probably wouldn't go back again. All the best!

I was looking for a restaurant for dinner with several people. Since the restaurant has a diverse menu, it would pique my interest. Before I reserved the table at DenkMahl, I went through the reviews, which were very positive. The ambience seemed to be very nice too... and in fact everyone wasn't disappointed. We were a group of 10 and everyone was very happy with the food, the ambience and the service. I can only recommend this place!👍

Stopped there as part of an overnight stay in Kassel. Interesting menu. Drink prices were okay, but I didn't think the price/performance ratio for the dishes was that good.

It's a great restaurant in winter and summer. In summer it's good to sit outside. The food is fantastic, the atmosphere is very cozy and the staff is very friendly. It is also one of the few restaurants that offers a lunch menu until 5 p.m. Most of those that even offer one close at 2 p.m. After 5:00 p.m. the lunch menu is no longer valid, but the normal offer. It is conveniently located. Conclusion, very comfortable, price and performance are top.

A one-off visit for us! A table by the door, it was getting pretty cold. We had an unfriendly, not overly well-groomed waitress who seemed quite annoyed as soon as she picked up the drinks (rolled her eyes, etc.) and when she asked about the sauce binding agent (several allergies on my part), in addition to looking totally annoyed, she put her hand to her forehead and groaned slightly, a rather questionable behavior (we were already considering leaving at this point) My food was pretty over-salted, my husband's porcini mushroom sauce was totally tasteless, the meat was pretty dead-fried with a herb CRUST that was totally soft and soggy. Nobody asked if you wanted something more to drink. The window behind us was opened with the words that it was too warm and that we had to ventilate for 2 minutes (ok), which was then only closed again after being asked to do so much later. It was a memorable meal, quite expensive given the service. We were more than disappointed...

Teuer, der Salat mit 3 sehr kleinen Lachsstückchen kostete um die 19€. Ich bin nicht satt geworden. Preis-Leistung ist nicht Ok. Kellner unaufmerksam, zum Zahlen musste 4x aufgefordert werden.

We visited there on a Monday evening and even got a table without a reservation. But I think a reservation would be advisable because of the small and busy restaurant. The ambience is very successful, I particularly liked the wooden planks on the ceiling with the "candles". For dinner I ordered a cooked short rib. This was wonderfully tender. But the highlight of the meal for me was the mashed potatoes served with it. It was as creamy and as delicately flavored as I have ever experienced. I think this was definitely homemade. I think there is a lot more handwork in the food here than in many other restaurants. Therefore I think the price is justified there. The dessert was also a poem. I had Hessian sour cream mousse. I didn't know it yet either. I'll be back on my next visit to Kassel!

Were there for Sunday brunch. Food was good but unfortunately the selection was very small. Apart from a few tomato slices from the tomato-mozzarella board, there were no vegetables.

A very nice restaurant with classic dishes. The fish was cooked to perfection and the risotto was perfectly seasoned. Four of us were seated directly in front of the large fireplace and it was just incredibly cozy. The waiters also have good expertise when it comes to wine. From starters to dessert, everything was very tasty and well crafted.

The food was tasty overall. Specifically, the sauce for the crusty steak was too watery and bland. The fries are great. The meat cooked to perfection. The service was somehow a bit “off”. We don't want to go that way, others might think it's good to go. We definitely got everything we wanted. The ambience is nice. Unfortunately, what's a bit annoying is the constant ringing of the telephone, which you can hear throughout the entire restaurant.

We had our wedding dinner at the Monument and it was fantastic. From the planning in advance, to the food, to the service, everything went really well and very accommodating. We would go here again at any time. A huge thank you to Jasmina, who gave us a great day.

We were looking for something to eat late Friday evening. After asking if they had anything else to eat, we were very kindly asked to sit at a table. We should order quickly. After 3 minutes we ordered drinks and several dishes for 4 people. After we got the drinks, the waitress came and told us that the kitchen wouldn't be preparing anything and we wouldn't get anything to eat. Sorry, what kind of treatment of guests? Friday evening 9:45 p.m. It may be that the food here is good, but they don't seem to need it I have never been treated like this anywhere else. I'm sorry. But absolutely never again.

An excellent restaurant with a waiter who has entertainer qualities. The price is decent. But you get real quality in return. If you want to be pampered exceptionally, this restaurant is the right place for you!

Super delicious food. The service was very friendly and in the mood to joke despite the restaurant being completely full. Unfortunately, this is no longer the case for many people in the hustle and bustle. You didn't have to wait long for your food or drinks. We will definitely come back!!!

Always been satisfied so far, but the last visit was very disappointing! The food was delicious, but the service was exceptionally poor! Not only was the wrong food brought and no apology was given, but also that the wrong drink was delivered several times or even forgotten. Inappropriate comments and attempts by the waiter to be funny.

Für Allergiker leider nicht geeignet! Trotz mehrfacher schriftlicher und mündlicher Informationen vor dem Besuch und persönlicher Bestätigung der Allergene vor Ort durch die Servicekraft, wurde leider Nichts(!) davon beachtet und alle genannten Allergene wurden im Essen verarbeitet und serviert. Die allergische Reaktion erfolgte heftig vor Ort und außer ein: "das tut mir leid", kam nichts von dem Personal. Wir werden dieses Lokal nicht mehr betreten

Relatively small restaurant, well attended even on a Monday evening, with not exactly cheap prices, especially after the price increases of the last few years, but now almost normal. Auf der Suche nach einem gepflegten Restaurant las ich die Speisekarte und bat um einen Platz. Da das Restaurant gut besucht war, wurde mir ein kleiner Tisch auf der Terrasse angeboten. Nun, zunächst zum hervorragenden Service, kompetent wurde mir der Wein empfohlen, trotz der zahlreichen Gäste und einer Familienfeier konnte ich ohne zeitlichen Druck mein Menü zusammenstellen. Was dann serviert wurde übertraf all meine Erwartungen, nicht nur geschmacklich, sondern auch im Hinblick auf das Anrichten der Speisen, hier ging es um Genuss, dazu ein gepflegtes Publikum. Der erste Besuch wird nicht der letzte gewesen sein. Dieses Restaurant ist eine Perle in der Gastronomie. Kompliment, bewahren Sie den Stil Ihres Hauses. Aus meiner Sicht ein sehr ausgewogenes Verhältnis zwischen Preis und Leistung.

Reservierung vom Vorabend für den Freitag Abend ging reibungslos. Tollen Tisch am Fenster gehabt. Sehr freundliche und offene Bedienungen. Das Essen ist jedesmal ein Genuss. Speisekarte ist nicht überfrachtet, aber hat eine sehr gute Auswahl.

This was our second time at denkMAHL and we were just as excited as the first time! It's a fairly unassuming restaurant that offers a great menu. We tried meat, fish and pasta. Every dish completely convinced us. By the way, the homemade fries were incredibly tasty! The crème brûlée dessert was at least as good as the main course. The service is also great. All employees are very friendly. We only have one small point of criticism: table lamps on the terrace would be great. In some cases, when dusk fell, you could hardly see your food anymore. We'll definitely be back!

The Monument is definitely an experience - especially if you like to spend a lot of time waiting for the waiter in the white shirt to break away from his conversations with the girls on the street. Sure, everyone should have fun, but being ignored for 20 to 30 minutes while sitting at the table feels a little unprofessional. Ps: all the other waiters were super friendly and really nice, after I told them inside that we were dying of thirst outside ;)

Great service employee - totally attentive, nice and competent. The tables outside are quite narrow for several people ordering food. There was still room for improvement with the steak. The salad was very good.

We ate extremely well! We had two dishes from the changing menu/recommendation as well as various drinks. Everything was great and great service (our waiter was relaxed and had one or two sayings ready, which we found very entertaining). If we visit Kassel again, we'll be happy to come back. Absolute recommendation.

Great pleace to sit outside and not far from either city center or Wilhelmshöhe.

Wir sind aufgrund einer Empfehlung zum Frühstücken ins Denk Mahl gekommen. Leider war es mit das schlechteste Frühstück was ich je gesehen habe. Das „ Buffett war größtenteils leer bzw. sah alt aus, Tomate / Mozzarella sah leider nicht genießbar aus. Die Waffelstation total verdreckt und die Schalen mit Nutella und Frischkäse waren unter anderem auch leer. Es geht gar nicht um die Masse an Auswahl, aber das was da ist sollte frisch , sauber und aufgefüllt sein. in der Zeit von über einer Std, in der wir dort waren , hat sich der Anblick leider auch nicht geändert. Das Personal war nett und bemüht, aber wahrscheinlich einfach überfordert. Der Preis von 18,50€ leider total unangemessen für die Qualität und die Leistung .

Everything perfect, definitely try it!

The portions are also getting smaller and smaller. The portion of mashed potatoes alone has only been a quarter as large for about 3 years... Wow. Pay 6.5 euros for an extra portion that's as big as the one you ordered (the size of a yoghurt). Well... It's always a blast in terms of taste, but that's one reason why I don't like stopping by anymore look. 😬

Dinner to break the habit: Unfriendly service, manageable portions, quality of the food below average - chicken breast tough, tasteless, spinach rather watery, mashed potatoes were ok. Then there was a cash register error with the bill and the waiter was really rude - all in all, my worst dining experience in recent years, and overall too expensive for that. You can't really talk about the ambience outside right on the street, but inside it looked very cozy. I'm definitely not coming back.

Visit in May We went to DenkMAHL for my husband's birthday and the food and service were top notch. I made a reservation in my best German and I soon received a response that we were welcome. The location is beautiful, it is in a beautiful old stately building and has a spacious terrace. It was too chilly outside for us and we looked for a spot inside. Most people sat outside and we almost had the restaurant to ourselves. Despite that, there was enough attention for us. In advance we ordered the flammkuchen vegetarian (caramelized apple and cheese) and one with salmon, spinach and cheese. Both were delicious but a lot. In retrospect we should have shared one. In between we got a snack from the house, a kind of quarter pie with fruit. Because our starter was so large, we decided to share the main course: the rump steak Kräuterkruste. For dessert we shared the creme brûlée. All the food was delicious. We were also happy with the drink suggestions, the non-alcoholic Caprinha is recommended.

We sat at a cat table with other guests who were extremely loud and ruined our entire evening. Never think again!!!

Unfortunately, it has deteriorated significantly in the kitchen. The beef roulade was always very good. The last time my companion ordered it, it was very, very small and she wasn't full. On the other hand, I had the beef rib, which looked super powerful in contrast, but was also just a normal portion. On another visit, the beef rib was just lukewarm on the outside and completely cold on the inside. This time the meat wasn't as tender either. The herb crust on the fish was somehow very mealy and didn't taste good at all. Given the prices, these are gross mistakes in the kitchen - especially because it used to be much better. Both times we had to wait a long time to pay or go to the checkout so we could finally go. The service is, as always, very friendly, but the overall package didn't add up. Sorry, but after being such a disappointment twice in a row, I won't be coming back. The price-performance ratio is simply no longer right.

On Easter Sunday we actually got a table for two quite spontaneously. The menu this evening was very manageable, which I think is a good thing for a change. For me I had onion roast with mashed potatoes. The service was very friendly and the meal didn't take too long. The taste of the food was really very good, especially the mashed potatoes were outstanding. For dessert we treated ourselves to a lukewarm chocolate cake with chocolate mousse, which was also very tasty. Clear recommendation from me!

Unfortunately we had bad experiences with the service twice, hence no 5 stars. One time our reservation was "forgotten" and the next reservation only two people were scheduled instead of 4, so we didn't get a table both times. The food is delicious, the shop is also very pretty, although it's too narrow and therefore way too noisy, but in the summer it's nice to sit outside. Prices are rather high.

Sunday brunch in a beautiful location in the Vorderen Westen. Small but nice buffet. Not too overloaded, but beautifully presented. Is constantly refilled, the delicious fennel salami is highly recommended. In addition to the usual orange juice that you can draw yourself, everyone can also make their own juice using the electric citrus press. Right next to it is the waffle iron for baking the waffles. Interactive buffet, so to speak😉. Also worth mentioning are the scrambled egg reactions, which are freshly made (and not simmering on the buffet) and served to the table. Last Sunday we were eating in the restaurant with 6 people. Unfortunately we had to realize that the price and performance were no longer right after the increase. In addition, we were allowed to pay an extra 1.50 for a small portion of ketchup without prior notice, even though we were paying around 40 euros each This is not good business policy.

The food itself was very tasty, but the value for money could be better. Unfortunately there was a small piece of aluminum foil in my meat and they charged €5 for “recommended dishes” on the bill even though we hadn’t asked for any recommendations.
