Das Pelikan in Bamberg

Hier sitzt man wunderbar in einem Hinterhof abseits der Massen. An Wochenenden würde ich eine Reservierung empfehlen. Hier bekommt man leckere Speisen und auch frisch gezapftes Bier. Aber auch die Weinauswahl ist in Ordnung.

Zusammen mit Freunden waren wir hier Abendessen an einem verlängerten Wochenende. Das Ambiente hatten wir gehoben erwartet, wir waren (nicht negativ) überrascht, als wir eher eine Studentenkneipen-Atmosphäre vorfanden. Das Essen klang sehr interessant und schmeckte sehr gut. Die ausgefallenen Kombinationen machen auch geschmacklich einiges her. Wir hatten an dem Abend reserviert und gleich am nächsten Tag erneut einen Tisch klargemacht.

Gericht sind nicht ganz authentisch - „Fusionsgericht“. Bedingung war sehr freundlich. Hunde sind erlaubt und Kreditkarte werden akzeptiert.

Ein hervorragendes Restaurant. Wer mal etwas anderes als die üblichen deutschen Gerichte probieren möchte, findet hier trotzdem ein authentisches lokales Flair. Die Kombinationen aus asiatischen und regionalen Aromen und Zutaten sind einfach genial. Blutwurst-Wantans, gebratener Spargel und Bratwurst zum Beispiel. Verrückt! Und trotzdem köstlich.

EINWANDFREIES asiatisches Essen bei freundlichster Bedienung und gutem Bier!!

Richtig geiles und qualitativ gutes Essen. Dazu gutes Bier. Service war freundlich und sehr sehr gut. Was will man mehr.

Super war es zusammenfassend. Sehr gut organisierter und dank auch des sehr guten Personals ein richtig schöner "all of Bock" Jahersabschluss.

Dieses Lokal hat mich von außen angesprochen. Der Biergarten mit Weinlaube hat mich dann überrascht. Sehr nette Insideratmosphäre, guter Service und interessante, trendige Speisekarte.

Leider viel zu lang auf das gute Essen gewartet. Konnten auch nicht zusammen essen, weil es nach und nach ausgegeben wurde. Aber sonst sehr schönes Ambiente im Innenhof. Hatten Glück mit dem Wetter

studentisch geprägtes Lokal mit hervorragender thailändischer Küche

War von Essen enttäuscht, doch der Ort ist schön.

Seit langer Zeit bin ich heute Abend zum Essen eingekehrt und war rundum zufrieden. Die frische asiatische Küche mit vorwiegend thailändischen Einschlag weiß zu überzeugen. Der Service ist sehr freundlich und flink. Die Getränkekarte in jeder Hinsicht überragend. Gerne würde ich demnächst mal wieder vorbeischauen.

Ein Restaurant was uns richtig begeistert hat. Fränkische Küche trifft Asiatische Küche . Blutwurst auf Wokgemüse mit Kleinen Kartoffeln oder , fränkische Bratwurst auf Kokosmilch Sauce mit Asiatischen Gemüse und Reis. Echt lecker. Getränke Auswahl auch echt besonders. Preis/Leistung stimmt

Ein unbedingtes Muss wenn man in Bamberg ist Fränkische Küche trifft thailändische Küche Super lecker….unbedingt reservieren 👍🏻

Tolles Gasthaus in Bamberg. Wir waren zu zweit am Abend zum Essen und haben auch ein Platz ohne Reservierung bekommen. Essen war top, Asiatisch teilweise in Fusion mit Fränkisch, war echt sehr lecker. Gasthaus ist total urig und der Service sehr freundlich, kann man nur weiterempfehlen.

Der Pelikan ist seit vielen Jahren eine echte Kultkneipe und ein beliebter Treffpunkt für Jung und Alt, hier kommt wirklich jede Bevölkerungsschicht zusammen. Das nette, aufmerksame und schnelle Personal sorgt dafür, dass man sich vom ersten Moment an wohlfühlt. Die Speisen und Getränke lassen keinerlei Wünsche offen. Besonders beeindruckend ist die enorme Auswahl an Spirituosen, Weinen, Whiskeys und Bieren, hier findet wirklich jeder etwas nach seinem Geschmack. Der Pelikan ist fast immer sehr gut besucht, deshalb empfiehlt es sich, rechtzeitig zu reservieren. Meiner Meinung nach ist allerdings der beste Platz an der Theke. Dort kann man den fleißigen Mitarbeiterinnen und Mitarbeitern direkt beim Zubereiten der Getränke zusehe, besonders schön, wenn man einfach nur etwas trinken und die Atmosphäre genießen möchte. Ich wünsche dem Betreiber, dass er den Pelikan noch viele Jahre weiterführt. Es wäre wirklich eine Katastrophe, wenn diese Kultkneipe einmal schließen müsste. Wir kommen jedenfalls immer wieder gerne hierher, lassen uns von den leckeren Speisen verwöhnen und genießen dazu ein gutes Getränk. Bitte macht weiter so und bis zum nächsten Mal!

Schöne Theke, tolle Gaststube, sehr leckeres Bier - ist in Bamberg allerdings kein Alleinstellungsmerkmal. Die Speisekarte dafür umso mehr. Asia / fränkische Fusionküche! Klasse! Wenn man Wantang mit Blutwurst liest oder Bratwurst aus dem Wog, kommt leichter Zweifel auf, ob's schmecken kann... Ja, kann es! Und zwar mega lecker, wird zukünftig häufiger bei meinen Bamberg Aufenthalten besucht. Danke war ein schöner Abend bei Euch!

Der Pelikan ist und bleibt fantastisch. Die Küche ist großartig innovativ und preislich unschlagbar. Dazu eine umfangreiche Bierauswahl und eine Weinkarte, die seinesgleichen sucht. Gerne könnten hier mehr Veranstaltungen und Events stattfinden, diese sind auch immer ein Highlight. Am Wochenende definitiv reservieren.

Uns haben die Fusiongerichte (fränkisch-asiatisch) angelockt. Die Auswahl dieser Speisen ist allerdings sehr begrenzt. Eher asiatische Küche mit schöner Auswahl. Atmosphäre ähnelt das Lokal einem Wirtshaus. Auffällig war, dass die Gerichte selten gleichzeitig pro Tisch serviert wurden. Das geht sicher besser; daher nur vier Sterne für den insgesamt sehr guten Service - auch wenn es eher das Küchenmanagement betrifft. Sehr beliebt und unbedingt reservieren (waren am Dienstagabend dort).

The food is nothing like it used to be under the old chef. The duck was dry and the curry was more like tomato sauce… and unfortunately, they no longer have draft pilsner. It's a shame; it used to be one of Bamberg's best restaurants. Perhaps they can still recapture its former glory.

I was there with a group of 16 women and was the only one who didn't get any food! After asking several times, I was told to be patient… When the first members of our group left after about 2.5 hours, I told the waitress that she didn't need to bring the food anymore… she didn't understand! There was no apology…!

It was cozy and casual, typical of Franconia, but unfortunately very loud. Conversation was almost impossible. The food was fresh, the selection was excellent. It was also ideal for vegetarians. The taste was good, but unfortunately (for everyone, and several times) it was far too salty.

We always feel warmly welcomed at the Pelikan. A very personable boss, and the staff are incredibly warm, relaxed, uncomplicated, and efficient. The clientele is a diverse bunch, from young to old, all super friendly. New drinks are regularly available, including seasonal and regional beers and even Federweißer made from grapes, from the cozy outdoor area. There's also the occasional crackling fire when it gets cooler. Keep it up!

Legendary pub. Very well-stocked food and drink menu. In summer, a lovely garden covered in grapevines.

We love the Pelikan! Super friendly service, great food, and a lovely atmosphere, especially outside in the beer garden :) It's great for vegetarians because you can order many dishes with tofu. The portions are always generous and fresh. My personal favorites: the wok-fried vegetables with tofu, the peanut rice noodles, and, when they're in stock, the wok-fried chanterelle mushrooms 😊

A beautiful place to relax and enjoy yourself. The service is friendly, courteous, and prompt, in true Franconian style. Excellent, freshly prepared food. The courtyard reflects the Franconian spirit in every way. We'd be happy to return anytime.

There's cilantro in every meal, even where it's not explicitly listed! When I mentioned that it was a shame that it wasn't listed for my dish, because I really hate cilantro, I was told to just order it without it next time. The food arrived after a 1-1.5 hour wait, one after the other (not even the appetizers came at the same time) and, if you could ignore the cilantro, was probably okay, but nothing particularly special. You can get the standard dishes elsewhere, and better. Also, we were initially seated at a table that was too small, so we asked for a different one. However, we were moved again because of other people. In general, the atmosphere is very dark, stuffy, and cramped. Plus, you have to walk through a smoking corridor to use the restroom. Spiders await you there.

It seems like a local restaurant. It's a bit salty for my taste, but the atmosphere is good and everyone is friendly ~ The menu is varied and there are many vegan menus.

Cozy pub inside and out with a huge selection of wines... the Rotling is highly recommended. I didn't eat anything.

We were at the Pelikan with a larger group – and what can I say: From the moment you walk in, you feel welcome. The welcome is wonderfully down-to-earth, Franconian, and the ambiance is rustic and cozy. The team? Super friendly! You can tell immediately: They put their heart and soul into what they do – even in the oppressive heat, they remain friendly and attentive. Huge respect for that! And then the food… wow! I had the duck – and honestly, it was the best I've ever eaten. Everything was fresh, hot, and prepared with a lot of love. Sure, our food arrived a little late, but that didn't bother us at all – on the contrary: you can tell that everything is fresh and lovingly prepared here. A cool Mönchsambacher or the beer of the month – what more could you want? Conclusion: A place to feel good, enjoy, and come back. Please keep up the good work!

I recently ate at the Pelikan. The first impression was quite good. The second, less so. Despite the rather cool outside temperatures, it was uncomfortably warm and stuffy inside. The air was filled with a smell that strongly recalled a recently completed over-45 sports session. The furniture didn't help the ambiance either: You had to sit on old, heavily worn beer benches, which inevitably evoked memories of the Kerwa (fair) in Unterleiterbach – back then under the organizational leadership of Mr. Farmer Hoppe, known for his rustic approach. What was quite good, in contrast, were the prices. I immediately felt like I was in Monaco. Unfortunately, the physical effort here wasn't a bit "over the top." The atmosphere at the Pelikan, however, was still quite good and cheerful on Whit Saturday. Conclusion: If you like stuffy air, wobbly beer benches, and fancy Monaco prices, this is the place for you – everyone else should flee.

Located in a historic building, the restaurant has retained its original interior. A hallway leads to the small beer garden. Everything has a nostalgic charm and is cozy. Our food was delicious, and the service was attentive and friendly. They took care of our request regarding gluten-free dishes. The value for money is good; we were satisfied.

One of the best addresses in Bamberg if you want to go to a rustic inn with a beautiful garden. Asian cuisine and a great selection of Franconian beers, regional high-spirits drinks and very friendly service. The only problem is that it is difficult to get a place without prior reservation.

Unfortunately we weren't at all happy with the food...

Farsin and Heiner make the Pelikan an experience. Best Thai food in town. Beers, wines and schnapps at their best. The ambience and atmosphere of the restaurant and garden are unique.

The Pelikan was very close to our hotel and a real insider tip. A little away from the noise and hustle and bustle, you can get fresh food from the wok in a brewery atmosphere. Highly recommended!

We were here for dinner. The food was fresh and good quality. Unfortunately it didn't quite live up to our expectations. The Franconian-Asian fusion is clearly at the expense of Asian. The Franconian share is limited. If you want that, it's great. We would have liked more of a taste for Franconian. The service was top at all times.

A pure tavern like I know from the 80s. Incredibly nice service, good, innovative menu. One would like to see more guesthouses like this. Just the right mix of restaurant and pub. We have restaurants in Belgium ourselves and recommend this very pleasant shop to everyone who is off the beaten track. ❤️

Very quaint! A wonderful place for a quiet beer in the beer garden or in the restaurant. Extremely friendly staff. The next time we visit Bamberg, this place is at the top of our list because it was by far the most beautiful beer location for us. Here you meet the locals and it is not very touristy. Price-performance ratio simply great. Keep it up! We will be back.

The Fusion Restaurant was recommended to us by a Tasty Bamberg guide and we were lucky to get a table at short notice. The menu is manageable and offers interesting dishes with a mix of Franconian and Asian delicacies. Our dishes were very tasty. We're only deducting one point because it wasn't quite suitable for the kids and wasn't very flexible. Price-performance is great. The service was friendly and competent. We deducted one star for the ambience because it was so warm without any draft.

Not authentic but explicitly "fusion cuisine", with somewhat strange results. My green, supposedly hot Thai curry wasn't really spicy, but instead had a very earthy Indian turmeric curry note - it doesn't have to be that way. The vegetables were fresh and crunchy. The service was very nice, the price was OK and you can sit very nicely in the courtyard. Good beer selection!

Beautiful restaurant in Bamberg's old town. There is both a beautiful indoor area and a larger beer garden. The concept with Franconian Asian fusion cuisine is of course unique. In the end, we weren't completely convinced by it. The waitress also actively ignored us for long stretches, which is why I can only give it 4/5 stars overall.

We were allowed to be guests in this restaurant today and were thrilled. Whether wonton with black pudding or wok dishes with triplets and bratwurst were simply mega. The duck with red curry and triplets was also an absolute success. Even the espresso, which unfortunately often tastes like dishwater in restaurants, was like an Italian one. We would love to come back 👍🏼.

Ristorante fusion fra cucina tedesca e orientale;il gia rdino interno è pieno e ci fanno accomodare all'interno in tipica atmosfera tedesca;purrtoppo ci fanno sedere su seggiolni alti appogiati su un tavolo altrettanto alto e non si capisce perchè dal momento che , per adesso(h 20) ci siamo solo noi e una altra coppia.Comunque il gentile cameriere tedesco dai tratti asiatici ci spiega il menu in inglese e così' mangiamo due insalate arricchite da carne e involtini primavera ripieni di vedure , per la verità con pastella esterna un poco vecchiota.La birra è ottima e il prezzo contenuto così siamo contenti IL locake è vicinissimo al nostro albergo Rezidenzschloss e questo ne costituisce un ulteriore bantaggio,oltre che riposare dalla cucina tipica bavarese,

We went to the Pelikan for the first time (on recommendation). The welcome was pleasant, the service was quick. We had a duck curry and fried rice. Both tasted very good, especially the curry was excellent. There was almost too much meat for me, but you can share :) the duck was super cross-fried. The fried rice was also delicious. We refined it (also on recommendation) with a peanut sauce (only €1 extra). The prices are also totally reasonable. For two with drinks €45.

Ein guter Ort um mal was besonderes zu Essen. Die Speisen sind frisch zubereitet und kommen sehr heiß an den Tisch. Das Personal ist sehr flott und außerordentlich freundlich.Die Einrichtung ist stilecht, hübsch und originell.Die Toiletten sind sauber und ordentlich,könnten aber mal renoviert werden.
