Da Mamma - Das Haus der Frischteigpasta in Wendlingen am Neckar

We were stranded at Wendlingen train station due to several train cancellations by Deutsche Bahn (DB). We then had a 50-minute layover in Wendlingen until the next train. We spontaneously decided to stop at Da Mamma and asked for a takeaway meal. We received a very warm welcome. It wasn't a problem at all, and the staff even asked the kitchen to prioritize our order so we could catch our train. Twenty minutes later, we had a wonderful, incredibly delicious pasta dish in our luggage, and our frustration with DB was almost forgotten ;) – all without a pre-order. THANK YOU!

One of the best Italian restaurants in the region

We stumbled into "Da Mamma" today by chance and were very pleasantly surprised. We thought it was a pizzeria by the train station—everything was alright. But not at all. The food was incredibly delicious and, considering the quality and quantity, very reasonably priced. The staff is very friendly without being intrusive. Unfortunately, we were only able to try one dish per person, but we'll try the other interesting-sounding alternatives on future visits. We promise! Just being able to combine about ten pasta varieties with at least twenty or more sauces as you like is simply fun. We want to try the pizzas on our next visit. We're already looking forward to it.

My pizza came out too dark on the first attempt – they immediately made me a new one, quite naturally and even on their own initiative. I was offered a free salad for the short wait. I only had one beer, so I can't comment on the food, but a grumpy employee slammed the beer down on my table. Overall, the atmosphere was very stressful, even though not everything was occupied. I didn't feel comfortable. Good energy and ambiance are very important, so I won't be back, although the food didn't look bad.

We always enjoy going there, but I'm always annoyed that the menu doesn't indicate which pastas or sauces are vegan. They also don't offer vegan cheese for pizzas, which I find very sad these days. Nevertheless, we always enjoy going there because it's simply delicious, even if the pizza doesn't have any cheese on it.

On our day, we were a group, and we received excellent service. I had the best calzone of my life. All requests were responded to quickly and excellently. Everyone in our group was completely satisfied. Special requests were fulfilled promptly. We would gladly return.

I was here once a few months ago and was so impressed that I was excited to recommend the restaurant to my family. We had planned a nice evening - just eat together, laugh, enjoy. But unfortunately this mood was very dampened. The staff was noticeably unfriendly that evening. Even with simple questions, the waitress seemed annoyed and impatient. When my food was delivered incorrectly and I asked calmly and politely, I was told that I had ordered “weird”. To be honest, that really hit me hard - I had expressed myself completely normally and felt exposed at that moment. What hurt me the most: When I wanted to know something about the wrong dish, the waitress just kept walking and as she walked away, from a long distance and in a really cheeky tone, she called out to me that I wouldn't eat it anyway and laughed as she did so. There was even an entire table between us - I have rarely experienced such little respect. Luckily another employee took over our table later and was friendly. But the damage was there. When we passed the first waitress at the end, there was no look, no greeting - nothing. Just that unpleasant feeling of being unwanted.

A really good Italian for every occasion! Great fresh pasta and pizza - great beer garden - great beer (Starnberger!) - and the train traffic doesn't bother you too much.

A perfect day connection. Both the pizza and the pasta were super tasty. The service was quick and very friendly (immediately asked if we needed a children's chair and quickly set up the tables to fit). Some others would have Construction site noise was annoying - our children thought the excavator was great. The trains are very quiet and didn't bother us at all. We'll definitely be back!

Italian soul food at its best! Was visiting an old friend from Wendlingen and he said - we're going here. That was the best decision of the day! The dishes were prepared with love. I can definitely put my stamp on it. The service was also pleasantly friendly and attentive. That was definitely a positive thing too. The guest room itself exudes the charm of bygone times with the renovated old train station building and was beautifully lit and decorated. A little feedback on the side: When using Averna as a digestive next time, ask whether it comes with lemon 🍋 or orange slice 🍊. This definitely enhances the liqueur. Alternatively, offer with Mediterranean herbs🌱. Keep it up.

After visiting numerous Italian restaurants in the country, for me Da Mamma is still THE benchmark when it comes to pizzas and the friendliness of the service. The restaurant is rightly always busy, even on weekdays, and you rarely get a table here spontaneously. In the cold season, the only annoying thing is the volume level in the full hall, but in summer you don't have that problem in the great beer garden or in one of the corner seats. I've already convinced a few people of yours. Great, keep it up! :)

A very nice Italian restaurant. But if you order a fruit tea and get a glass of hot water and a tea bag, that's just a bad sign. The tea bag even states that the tea must be brewed with boiling hot water, as this is the only way to ensure a safe beverage.

We spontaneously went to Da Mamma for the first time in the early evening today (Tuesday). Since we were there shortly before 6, we were lucky and were able to get a table for 3 people. It's better to reserve in advance 😉 The reception was friendly and accommodating, the restaurant was clean and nicely decorated. We promptly received the menus at the table and the drinks were included. The food was then picked up for drinks delivery and the side salads came to the table quickly and at the same time. Unfortunately, these Insalata Mista were a disappointment - neither quality nor quantity is appropriate for €4.50. The dressing being too acidic for us is again a matter of taste. Things got really good again with the pasta dishes 👍. Ravioli Spinaci e Ricotta, Trofie Pomodoro and Tagliolini Salmone e Spinaci were very fresh, very well portioned and absolutely worth recommending! Unfortunately, the 3 dishes did not come to the table at the same time but each with a 2-3 minute delay. This could have been timed better with 3 dishes and the restaurant only being half full at this point. 3 drinks, 3 side salads and 3 pasta dishes for just under €70 are reasonable, but unfortunately there are deductions for the salads. We'll definitely go back, but with a reservation and WITHOUT salads. The service staff definitely left us with a very good impression - keep it up 👍

I don't usually like going to Italian restaurants. But today's visit to Da Mamma changed that. The food is top-notch, the staff is very friendly, and the atmosphere right next to the train station is something truly special. We'll definitely be back.

Went there yesterday for my birthday dinner. Great service, not perfect, but everyone was trying hard, which made me very happy. The appetizers were excellent. The pizza was very good quality and very good value for money. The ambiance inside was really nice, and the terrace was great. The adjacent engine shed area was great, but could be a bit tidier and cleaner. All in all, great. Keep it up.

We even drive there from Stuttgart. Point 1: the homemade pasta - it really tastes like homemade pasta should taste, just homemade. And with the choice of your favorite "sugo", which is possible for everyone here, it is only your own fault if it doesn't taste good in the end Point 2: the "train station" ambience - in Germany generally leads to associations such as "dirty", "stinks", "is loud". But that's different here. The charm of the old station building comes into its own, there are so few trains that the individual train itself becomes a spectacle. Point 3: lots of space - even if it's sometimes quite full, it's spread out well over the spacious space. The only thing that would be an advantage is a little more green and cooling. Convenient: arrive by train and get off directly at the front door.

Different pastas (more than 10!) can be combined with different sauces (also more than 10), so everyone can choose their own favorite combination. Alternatively, pizzas and salads are also available. The quality of the food is good, the staff is friendly. Free parking on the street. The nearest charging option for electric vehicles is within walking distance on the other side of the tracks (Shell gas station)

The restaurant is created from the previous railway station (or in any case a related building). The menu is a sort of "configurator" where you choose the type of pasta and one of the many different sauces they have. Pasta cooked to perfection (Italian for me), plentiful and very good and tasty. I also ate pizza once but I wasn't thrilled. Next time I will stick with the pasta because it deserves a lot.
