CAT IN THE RESTAURANT!! At first we were warmly welcomed and everything made a good impression. Then one of the waiters let a cat into the restaurant and I thought that someone would immediately let it out again. But that didn't happen. I then asked the staff to send the cat back out, but the waiter just asked "why". I explained to him that I was allergic and didn't find it hygienic either! But he just said that the cat was at the other end of the room and wasn't allowed in the kitchen, so that's fine. I should have left straight away, but unfortunately I didn't. When my spaghetti Napoli arrived, the mood didn't get any better. I can also make canned sauce at home. After the conversation about the cat, the waiter no longer paid any attention to us (only when paying), didn't ask if it was tasty or what we were doing. Really not recommended!

KATZE IM RESTAURANT !! Zunächst wurden wir nett empfangen und alles machte einen guten Eindruck. Dann ließ einer der Kellner eine Katze ins Lokal und ich dachte noch, dass sie gleich wieder jemand rauslassen würde. Das passierte aber nicht. Ich bat das Personal dann darum, die Katze wieder hinauszuschicken, doch der Kellner fragte nur "warum". Ich erklärte ihm, dass ich allergisch bin und es auch nicht hygienisch finde! Aber er sagte nur, die Katze sei ja am anderen Ende des Raumes und in die Küche darf sie nicht, also passt das so. Ich hätte direkt gehen sollen, bin ich aber leider nicht. Als dann meine Spaghetti Napoli kamen wurde die Stimmung nicht besser. Soße aus der Dose kann ich mir auch zuhause machen. Der Kellner beachtete uns nach dem Gespräch über die Katze nicht mehr (nur noch beim Zahlen), fragte nicht, ob es geschmeckt hat oder was man halt so macht. Wirklich nicht empfehlenswert!

Delicious food and great service

We were here in the afternoon to have a bite to eat, but I was very disappointed. I've been to the restaurant several times. Was always good. But this time. At first no one came. Then ordered drinks. I was just able to order food when the drinks arrived. The omelet was mediocre. The service was disinterested and gave the impression of being bored. I can also go to the SB Bistro. Too bad.

The food is super tasty and fresh. The service is super funny and loves to joke around. In the store you feel like you are in a castle hall 🏰 with the castle curtains and the lights.

The pizza is bottomless with no fresh vegetables. I'd rather eat a high-quality frozen pizza. The ambience and service are still quite nice, but if the basics aren't right, it's not worth much.

Ich hatte Spaghetti mit Knoblauch und Petersilie bestellt. Was soll ich sagen, selbst bei einem so einfachen Gericht lief mehr oder weniger alles schief. Die Spaghetti schwammen in einer Knoblauchbrühe von Petersilie keine Spur, dafür Oliven und Peperoni, eigentlich ungenießbar. Dieses „Restaurant“ ist unterirdisch und in keinem Fall zu empfehlen.

The menu is a bit confusing because it does not distinguish vegan from vegetarian dishes. And if you ask the waiter he doesn't know how to answer (he seemed a little "stiff") When in doubt, I ordered pasta with vegetables and tomato, which was quite delicious.

Ordered online and couldn't be more dissatisfied: the saltimbocca, pepper steak and tomatoes with mozzarella were incredibly bad. The only place I've ever had such a miserable meal was at a pseudo-Italian restaurant in Neukölln. Three thumbs down.

Just don't eat here!!! I've never experienced anything like that. After 2 hours the food came. The liver was raw and the fillet was fried to death. There were cherries instead of cranberries with the Camembert - that too without comment! No matter how hungry you are - keep going! There are good restaurants nearby.

Pizza (had Pizza Nadine) was cheap but rather small and not very topped and a bit too salty. My Alster was stale. But you sit in the shade.

The steak was perfect! Number 48 on the menu is an absolute must. The service was nice and polite and also had a sense of humor. The ambience is relaxing and idyllic.

..very disappointing.. miserable service, long waiting times after ordering, 3 out of 10 dishes were simply forgotten, only when asked when everyone else had finished eating did the forgotten order come. I can give half a star for the atmosphere! But that is very generous. NEVER AGAIN !!!!!!!!

Waited 1.5 hours for the food, potatoes were cold, food was returned. 4 people dining, meals served at different times. Not recommended.

The appearance is deceptive. Waiters were bored. The toilets are not tidy, dirty and broken. Our tablecloth was also dirty. For the price, a little more was expected on the plate. But it was still OK. We won't eat there anymore.

As long-time regulars at Contadino at Luisenplatz 8, 14471 Potsdam, we can only give consistently positive feedback. The restaurant impresses in all areas and is one of the best addresses in Potsdam for us. The staff is always friendly, courteous and provides excellent service, which always makes the visit pleasant. The value for money is excellent; The quality of the food is very good in relation to the prices. The dishes are always freshly prepared and taste excellent to us - a real highlight for every visit. The atmosphere at Contadino is also very welcoming and pleasant. It will certainly be even more pleasant, especially outdoors, when Potsdam's city center becomes car-free, but even now it is definitely inviting there. The combination of excellent food, friendly service and a beautiful ambience makes every visit a special experience. In summary, we can say that the Contadino is a permanent fixture in Potsdam for us. We appreciate the consistently high quality and always look forward to a delicious meal in this wonderful restaurant. An unreserved recommendation for anyone who wants to enjoy excellent cuisine and excellent service.

The Contadino in Potsdam is in itself a nice shady place to have something to eat. Unfortunately the staff tried to rip us off. The staff spoke very poor German and hardly any English. There were no communication problems when ordering but there were problems when paying. Instead of €13, they wanted to charge €30 (typed into the card reader). When I pointed out the typo to the staff, they became rude and yelled at me. A pity. The food was quite ok.

The food is very good, the waiters are very nice and fast, the menu is given to you in Spanish and the price is acceptable.

We were guests again. The ambience of this restaurant has improved by 100%. The food and staff were great as always. The prices have increased slightly. But it is understandable if the prices for food and staff rise. We have been regular guests at contadino since 2010. We have very rarely had negative experiences.

I give it one star because I can't not give it one. The tasteless food, the lasagna without meat and with raw pasta. Pizzas without flavor. The hot beers. Also, the manager is a pimp and rude. He spoke terribly to us and laughed at us. When we went to pay, he didn't let us see the amount that the dataphone showed and that's why he also yelled at us and spoke badly. Very bad experience. Money wasted.

It's not that bad. The prices are affordable. Just make sure you can communicate with the staff since I don't speak German, my bad. Danku!

Very attentive and friendly staff. The food is 1a. -

We had pasta and bruschetta. Everything was very delicious. The waiters were very friendly. The carbonara was quite “Germanized” but still very tasty! We sat outside and it was pleasantly shady and not too loud. You had a great view of Luisenplatz and the Brandenburg Gate. We recommend!

We went to this Italian restaurant today and I have rarely been so disappointed with the service. At first it took 15 minutes until we were allowed to order (still manageable), but the 40 minute wait for simple and not really good pizzas was far too long with few guests and enough staff, who preferred to go smoke again instead of getting another menu as requested bring! Or the other waiter who doesn't even look at you despite the empty plates and glasses on the table. The menu arrived 20 minutes later and we had long since lost our appetite for dessert! Friendliness also seems to have been a foreign concept to the staff. Never again !

Good food at fair prices in the heart of Potsdam! The service was repeatedly a bit unfriendly, but the location is great and the food was ok too!

A real Italian restaurant wouldn't let that go. The portions were clear, the "tomato sauce" with my rigatoni with fillet tips tasted drastically like ketchup. :-o The chanterelles and the little meat were okay. The price is reasonable at the upper limit. The non-Italian staff seemed bored until "customer threatened to order". Started with the “placement”. There was no tip, which is extremely rare. - Not recommended. By the way, the steakhouse with lunch next door seems to be part of the family.

Please read reviews before going. Went out for my birthday dinner with my cousin and now I have food poisoning. My stomach started to hurt like 3hrs after eating and went into the next day. I am now currently have a really stomach flu that i hope goes away quickly. Ordered a steak medium and the whole middle was rare I left like half of it because I could not eat the rest.

In and of itself a very chic restaurant. Half an hour can pass before food or drink arrives. Furthermore, if I pay a 0.5 beer, I don't get a 0.3.

We were 11 people. The waiter was so friendly and put tables together. The drinks and food came pretty quickly. Everyone enjoyed it very much. The prices are pretty cheap. We will definitely go there again.

Very cheap! Very Bad! Food was without salt, Pepper and was not fresh. Bread was from yesterday. My souse with chanterelles and they were cold. Steak was without spices. My partner has chicken breast with curry pineapple souse but was way too sweet and chicken was precooked and just heated up. Out drinks (beer from tap and Lambrusco) also tasted funny. We didn’t finished our meal and went after paying disappointment.

After 20 years of thinking about a bereavement here, 21 years and there is lively traffic outside and the food and drink tastes very good

The food was very good and, above all, inexpensive. Nowadays it's more of an exception. There is no liqueur or similar on the house after the meal, but that's easy to get over given the prices. As I said, the food tastes really good. The beer, a private brewery?, was also excellent. I personally find the atmosphere cozy. There is also plenty of space outside in summer.

The food was average. Even though it was an Italian restaurant there was no parmesan cheese which was very strange and the waiter was rude when we asked for parmesan. When it finally came time to pay, the waiter was nice because he wanted a tip. The tables and outdoor dining area could have been cleaner and the waiters talked very loudly to each other, which wasn't very pleasant. Overall, not a great experience.

Everything paletti 😊 & a little better

Pizza is good, pastas are bad... We had no knives, forks on the table. I had to take from the next table. No napkins, service really doesn’t exist. I’m going to give a star, but it’s waaaaay too much. Oh, last time the walls seen paint was probably 27 years ago. Never again.

I didn't like the service, one of the waiters needs to undergo training. He doesn't care about visitors at all. The food is absolutely tasteless. The tomato sauce seemed to be diluted with water. No seasoning, no salt. There were people sitting nearby and they were also dissatisfied with the quality of food and service. I really love visiting Italian restaurants, unfortunately this one is not at all impressive. The interior is cozy. Stylish. We need to get rid of plastic plants. The location is very good. Improve the shortcomings and everything will be great.

We got a table on Saturday evening (5:30 p.m.) without a reservation and were served quickly. The selection is large, prices are completely acceptable. Drinks/food were chosen quickly. Unfortunately the wrong water came for the ladies - replacement and apology immediately! Fine. The salad that came with the main prize was ok, but unfortunately the rolls were cold and not really fresh. The main course was even better. Ate very tasty sea bream and at the end there was coffee. Very strong for me but better than too weak. In addition, there was always a quick comment from the boss, who served us well. It was pleasant and entertaining. Unfortunately, the toilets resembled a swimming pool. Probably a defect. We'd love to come back. Price-performance ratio is right and we also sat comfortably.

Einfaches und preiswertes italienisches Essen. Freundliche und schnelle Bedienung. Ausreichend Platz auch für größere Gruppen.

Man isst preiswert und gut. Der Service war typisch italienisch. Immer mit einem Scherz auf den Lippen. Essen und Rotwein haben gut geschmeckt.

Wir waren am Sonnabend dort zum Abendessen. Gute Auswahl an Speisen und Getränke, Preis Leistung sehr zufriedenstellend. Personal sehr freundlich und aufmerksam. Fühlten uns sehr wohl. Speisen könnten vieleicht etwas würziger sein aber das ist ja Geschmackssache.

Erstaunlich , dass man in Potsdam in guter Lage für diese Preise noch Essen gehen kann. Kann ich nur empfehlen.

Von 3 Essen fanden 2, es könnte besser sein

Wir waren eben mit unserem Kleinen (3 Jahre) zum Sonntag abend noch kurz Pizza essen. Die Kellner waren super nett, die Pizza mit 7,50€-8,90€ preiswert und dennoch sehr lecker. Wir konnten mit Karte zahlen und kommen gerne wieder.

Sehr lecker, große Auswahl, top Bedienung, schnell, und dazu noch günstig bei toller Lage. Gerne wieder!

We had dinner here. The restaurant is located at the Luisenplatz not far from the Brandenburger Tor in downtown Potsdam, an area with many tourists. As the name implies the food here is Italian and it is possible to dine both inside and outside, weather permitting. The menu is quite extensive with several choices including pasta, pizzas, salads, and a selection of fish and meats. The food and service we had was okay for what we paid.

Mega leckeres Essen, Cocktails die es in sich haben, sehr nettes Personal zu günstigen Preisen... Sehr zu empfehlen...

Dem Essen fehlt zum Teil die Würze oder ist geschmacklich nicht ganz ausgewogen. Ob das auch bei Pizza und Pasta so ist, das kann ich nicht beurteilen, da wir hier gegrillten Fisch gegessen haben.

Freundliches Personal, Essen schmeckt gut und die Portionen sind groß. Keine lange Wartezeit und der Kellner hat immer ein kleinen Spruch auf die Lippen. Kann ich nur weiterempfehlen.
