Cocolo Ramen in Berlin

Overall a nice ramen experience in the heart of mitte. Have eaten here 3 times, and the tonkatsu ramen has been consistently good. Fair price as well.

I ordered the tonkotsu ramen, which had three pieces of meat, one was brown soy sauce pork belly (actually it was old, chewy, super salty soy sauce meat), and two pieces of pork tasted okay but not fishy. How salty is the meat? That is, the soup I drank at first tasted just right, but after 10 minutes of eating and only 1/3 of it was left, the noodle soup was already too salty to eat. You might not find it so salty if you order a drink, but in the winter, and as we were placed outside and the heat lamp wasn't even hot, drinking soda and other iced drinks was definitely adding insult to injury. And I felt so bad that I couldn't finish the soup happily after eating the ramen, and my body was still cold after eating. Finally, why is the service so bad? The reason is that they provide kid ramen here. We thought it was a small portion of ramen, but one of our companions happened to have eaten before coming out, but the weather was too cold so he wanted something hot. But they refused to give us children's ramen because we were not children. And they said we could order ramen for 15 euros (original price), as long as we offered to order less noodles. Finally, I just want to say that I don’t have any problem with the ramen selling for 15 euros for such a small portion, but the quality you make is so salty and of poor quality, I don’t think it’s worth it. And I think it is a considerate choice for children if you have kids ramen, but it would be a bit crazy if only children can buy kids ramen. After all, even McDonald's and KFC's children's meals can be purchased by adults, but your kids ramen can only be purchased by children?

The ramen here is very good, but it wasn't the best I've ever eaten. The restaurant has an insulated outdoor tent, which is a big plus. The restaurant has a great atmosphere and you can have a nice time here.

Very tasty ramen and miso. The place is small, but creates a unique Japanese atmosphere. There is no reservation, so you will need to stand in a live queue, it took us 15 minutes. Fermented vegetables have a very interesting taste. I recommend ❤️

I tried Miso with extra Spice and I liked it. Edamame 🫛 was salted and warm. Not many options for vegetarians, only Miso. The food was tasty 😋. Worth a try.

Nightmare. The place is tiny (maybe 10 persons till it's full) and there are queues to enter which don't even move. Being open for 5 hours per day at best definitely doesn't help. Not that I wanted it too much, given how expensive, noisy (when I entered to check what was going on it was almost deafening) and location is a disgusting hipstery ghetto with a super arrogant and annoying crowd.

Excellent experience. Friendly and welcoming staff, always attentive to our every request. The restaurant is located in a good area of ​​Berlin, ten minutes from Alexanderplatz, full of shops, cafés and restaurants from all over the world. Everyone is so smiling! I was in Tokyo this summer and Berlin made me feel like Tokyo, thanks to this place. The environment is very friendly, the employees are very helpful. I loved the taste, but my order was wrong. However, I didn't change it because they were too sweet, I said I would eat this too and it wouldn't be a problem.

One of the best ramen experience I've ever had! Personnel is super nice, food is amazing and place is 'small' but super nice and spontaneous.

Food - everything is delicious. Actually, I haven't tried soyou, but tsukemono is a must. Iced green tea is also good. Service - Always friendly and quick to respond. A service that makes you feel comfortable and happy. Atmosphere - Although the space is a bit narrow for luggage, it is cozy and lively at the same time.

Straight forward classic ramen dishes. If you like ramen and want to make a safe choice, go to Cocolo Ramen. The shop existed long before the hype and has remained consistently delicious. One star deducted because the ambience doesn't necessarily invite you to linger and the service can sometimes seem cool, but you can always rely on the steaming broths with creamy noodles. Safe choice and must-try in the cold winter months. Attention: reservations are not possible as it is popular, waiting times must be taken into account.

I was in Berlin and had Tantan/Tonkotsu ramen. In both cases, the soup is mild and the noodles are delicious. I think it would probably taste better if I ate it. Still, I was satisfied because it was much more like Japanese ramen than the strange European ramen. Oh, no beer. There was only alcohol-free beer.

I didn’t have a pleasant experience here. 1. The cheapest soup (I had miso) was 13.5€ for this you get smth that tastes like water with vegetables. I had also corn in it and it felt really like water with vegetables. 2. I came later, while my friends already ordered and were eating . I wanted to order but the waiter said that they don’t do it like this, that my friends already ordered and I order later. I asked if I can order smth that doesn’t take much time to prepare and she with a reluctant face and tone came “to ask the kitchen” if I can order. Sorry but I thought ramen broth is being prepared for hours and they should have it prepared at any time. Also you are constantly being forced to be as fast as possible and make place for new people. We sat next to the door to the inner yard. And at some point the waiter just opened the door wide open so we feel the cold from the outside and it really felt like he wanted people to move. Then one friend of ours left and it was 3 of us. And when another friend left to use the bathroom, the waiter told us to move (they have long benches) and brought new people from the queue outside and sat them at our table. 4. Therefore definitely don’t recommend if you want to sit in peace and talk with your friends. 5. Toilet: they don’t have one, so you need to go to the street and come to the adjacent restaurant where there is also a queue so you need to tell the hostess and the line that you want to use the bathroom. 6. Surely not my place. But decide for yourself . To cocolo: if you are so on demand, take reservations instead.

The food was prepared in a flash, I was amazed! Unfortunately, the Tonkutsu Ramen didn't have an exceptional taste. As I would say, very average! You can't complain about the price. Small restaurant with limited seating.

It is very unique Japanese cuisine , not for people who are looking for fancy restaurant , it is for people who would like to enjoy Japanese food & traditional atmosphere

Soyu ramen, tantan ramen, miso spinach seasoned and gyoza. I thought Soyou would be salty, but it wasn't that salty and had a light taste, so I enjoyed it :) There is a waiting line in the evening, so I think you can eat more comfortably if you make a reservation.

I used to go there all the time when I lived in Berlin. It's a ramen shop, but it's a great place to drink. It was great even after drinking it lol I recommend the tonkotsu ramen. A lot of Italians came.

Unfortunately we were only guests in Berlin, because it was the best ramen in my life, even though we regularly eat ramen in Little Tokyo/Japanviertel in Düsseldorf. The open kitchen is also great to see. The employees are all super friendly and helpful. Everyone speaks German and English well. I think it's good that attention is paid to quality instead of quantity. The homemade lemonade and honey tea are also super delicious. If we're in Berlin again, we'll definitely come back :) keep it up and don't let the worse reviews get you down!

The service and the atmosphere were great, and the taste was personally for me as close to Tokyo ramen as it gets here in Berlin. Just wish that there were more ramen with meat options, but overall it was really good.

Food was actually great except for the pork belly. We sat outside behind a foil with a heater at 15 degrees. It was ok, but not great either. The waitresses were very nice. If we are in the area again, we would still like to come back

Really one of the best ramens I've tried in Berlin, and if it's not the best it's because I haven't yet met one that surpasses it, 10/10. Very friendly person, smiling and good vibes! A bit of a line but worth it.

I’ve been dying to try this ramen spot for a long time, and I finally got the chance! We tried the Tantan and Tonkotsu. The Tantan was tasty, but nothing too special. However, the Tonkotsu was absolutely delicious—the broth, the meat, everything was incredible. The restaurant is a bit small indoors, so you might have to queue for a while and sit with others, but that’s understandable given how popular it is. The staff were incredibly friendly, helpful, and nice! Everything was perfect. I would definitely recommend and will be coming back!

Just found this hidden gem by chance, thanks to google map. We arrived around 6:30 pm and there was already a waiting line. Upon tasting the ramen it was clear why people are willing wait.

A very small but successful Japanese kitchen. The staff was friendly and had very good energy. We ate Ramen and liked it. By the way, we walked from our hotel to the restaurant using Google map. The app brought us exactly right to his door. Attention to those who come to Berkin and are interested in this place.

Really good Ramen and friendly staff, a must if you visiting Berlin, it can be crowded so make sure you either make a reservation (if possible) we got lucky and did a drop in/out. Possible to pay both with cash or card! Very clean and fresh toilets

The best ramen in all of Berlin! The Tonkotsu Ramen in particular is packed with flavor. The broth is super spicy and creamy, hardly any shop can do it so well and the Kakuni is to die for. The staff is always super warm and helpful. There is only one star deducted because of the long waiting times and the cramped seating.

Love this place and it’s atmosphere! Meat in my ramen was dry and a little hard to chew but broth was amazing!

Visited on a Saturday at 8 PM, the ramen is delicious, the atmosphere feels very authentic to a traditional ramen place.

The food was fine, but right after eating I had to spend 30 minutes on the toilet with severe stomach cramps and felt like I was fighting for my life. When I brought this up afterwards, it was simply dismissed with a short “sorry”. Still I had to pay the full amount. Never again!

What can I say? The best ramen restaurant I know. The warmth and cozy atmosphere are unique. We come here every time we are in Berlin. We are happy to accept the waiting times for the great location with an open kitchen and the friendly staff. Small but nice and if it's good, it's always worth waiting. We love it!

Unfortunately not recommended at all for vegetarians. The only vegetarian ramen on the menu contained an egg, corn, sprouts, a single leaf of bok choy, and a single sugar snap pea. The version with pork belly had mushrooms in it, I don't understand why they aren't also in the vegetarian dish, especially since it costs barely less than the versions with meat. Unfortunately, the vegetarian ramen is pretty boring. But the staff is super nice and the atmosphere in the restaurant is pleasant.

Delicious ramen, unfortunately not really anything special. But the open kitchen is really great. The big drawback is the long waiting times and the fact that guests sometimes have to get up to let others through to the benches. The taste is good but it could be a little more “exciting”. I can't recommend the pork belly, the gyozas were quite good.

Leude leude leude, what a find this was the first time I was here. My ramen of choice is always the tonkotsu and it's fun, I tell you. From the perfect bite of the noodles to the pleasantly sticky feeling on your lips when you're done with the soup. This way and not otherwise. So far I haven't eaten a better tonkotsu in Berlin. For this reason 10/10 I would get sticky lips again!

Always very busy with seating even in the courtyard. Fast and efficient service. The Ramen with pork broth and vegetables is very good. Online prices. You can't book but the queue clears up quickly.

We are in Berlin for the weekend and a friend recommended the shop to us. Luckily we did. We sat down directly at the counter. It's just exciting to watch how the food is prepared. Very nice and friendly staff, including the gentlemen who prepare our food, great! The food was really delicious, there was a good selection but not too much! I also find value for money reasonable. I really have to highlight the worst customer service I’ve had so far. Taking out seasoning, cutlery because they are closing soon (in 1 hour ???!!!), same for our place, and finishing by being yelled, insulted because we are not giving tips???? Good ramen, but worst restaurant experiment so far.

This is our second time in Berlin and we absolutely had to come back! Food tastes great and a very good portion for the price. We definitely recommend the Home Made Lemonade, it tastes really fantastic. It's worth getting there early and if it's busy it's definitely worth queuing and waiting.

Reservation of a table is not possible here, you need to queue there and wait till you get a place. We had to wait for around 20 to 25 minutes. Once we entered they gave us the bank table facing the kitchen. As we were 4 people, it was not the optimal arrangement, was difficult to enjoy the dinner and talk to everyone as it was also loud. Everyone was on a quick paste as people were waiting outside, we had the feeling we had to hurry up to finish our meal, as soon as we finish to eat they prepared already for the next person. The ramen was ok, nothing special compared to other places.
