Cilentano in Köln

We spontaneously decided to try Cilentano! The food—we had pasta and pizza—was so delicious that we went back for a second meal (girls' weekend in Cologne). The service was great too. If we're ever in Cologne again, we'll definitely come back.

One of the best Italian restaurants in Cologne!

I arrived as a guest and was treated like a friend from the very first minute – especially by the owner. The lasagna is highly recommended – prepared in portions in an iron pan. I can't say for sure, but the lasagna sheets are probably homemade, too. This certainly won't be my last time here – I'll be back next time I'm in town.

The restaurant has a nice atmosphere and the staff were very friendly, which we really appreciated. However, the prices were quite high for what we received. I ordered the grilled fish dish, which cost around €40, but the portion was quite small just a piece of salmon, a bit of white fish, a shrimp, and a small piece of octopus with some potatoes. The food tasted fine, but definitely not worth the price. For the amount we paid (€70 for two dishes), we expected a more generous serving or something more special. Unfortunately, I wouldn't recommend this dish based on value for money.

The restaurant is beautifully decorated, and the tables are set with cloth napkins. The food is delicious, and special requests are no problem. The service is very friendly and tries to accommodate all requests. The prices are slightly more expensive than in other restaurants, but you are rewarded with a pleasant ambiance. We were very satisfied. The only drawback is the parking situation. There are only three spaces in front of the door, otherwise you have to search for one.

Update: We can't get enough! The best pizza! The best meat dishes! The best pasta dishes! The truffle pizza is a must. Never seen such a delicious Italian restaurant! You can tell that the family runs and runs the restaurant with heart and soul! Update: 7 years ago, I published my review (see below), and today, 2025, many years later, I can introduce myself as one of many regulars. Thanks to the service and thanks to the wonderful kitchen with its magic touch, which conjures up delicious dishes and meals from the delicious ingredients. 🇮🇹🇮🇹🇮🇹 A friend had already eaten at Cilentano and highly recommended it to us. The four of us had a reservation. We sat by the window and had a good table. The staff was very friendly and accommodating! The food was as if we were in Italy itself. The pizza is delicious, crispy, and not greasy! The pasta is unique! Thank you so much for the wonderful atmosphere and evening. We'll be coming back to eat with you often. See you soon.

We spontaneously went to Cilentano for dinner and were lucky to get a table for two, as it was full that day due to a large event at the restaurant. The service was super friendly, very accommodating, and very attentive. I had a pizza with mushrooms, truffles, and Parmesan cheese. I haven't had such a great pizza in a long time!! An absolute flavor bomb, and the crust was super delicious and super thin!! It was definitely worth the price of just under €25. My husband had lasagna, which was also super delicious and, in terms of size, a man's portion. He finally got his fill. We had to wait a little longer for our food after ordering. However, we were told this was due to the large event at the restaurant. We ended up spending just under €60 for two people. We had three drinks, plus the pizza and the lasagna. The ambiance was nicely decorated and the restaurant seemed clean. Parking is available directly at the restaurant. It was our first visit to Cilentano. Since we really enjoyed it there, we would definitely return.

The fresh pasta dishes and the excellent wine selection – from fruity Pinot Grigio to robust Primitivo – are particularly noteworthy. Every course was a delight, freshly prepared, and full of authentic flavors. The service is also fantastic: attentive, friendly, and warm – exactly what you would expect from an Italian restaurant. You don't just feel like a guest, but like a friend of the establishment. For me, the Cilentano is the new top address in Cologne for those who want to enjoy Italian cuisine of the highest quality. I will definitely be back – and can only warmly recommend it to everyone!

Everything was perfect. Very friendly and the food was absolutely delicious. A bunny-shaped kids' pizza and kids' spaghetti in a Mickey Mouse plate.

Unfortunately, I can't rate the food. However, I can rate the 'friendliness' on the phone. When I tried to reserve a table, I was passed around three times and had to repeat my request four times (once, they didn't listen to me and talked to someone else while I was talking), until I was finally told that I should have called earlier, even though a reservation wouldn't have been possible anyway due to a baptism. It's a shame that an experience like that can make you not even want to try a restaurant!

It's been a long time since we've had such delicious Italian food. All three courses were exceptionally delicious. The pizzas were typically Italian: wafer-thin with crispy crusts. The atmosphere was very pleasant, and the staff were consistently attentive and friendly. A completely family-run business, from the kitchen to the service, as we learned. Perhaps that's why you'll always find that special something here.

My cousin and I traveled 80 km and visited today for the first time. 100% not overpromising! You feel extremely comfortable, the service is extremely attentive, friendly, and truly caters to every request promptly! Even though the restaurant was almost full, the food was served in less than 20 minutes. The quality and taste of the food are unbeatable. I'm a restaurateur myself and can truly say that this is top-notch, and the chef has very high standards! I definitely recommend this restaurant to everyone! All the best!

We had a delicious meal, the staff were very friendly and cheerful, and the outdoor seating was lovely. Authentic Italian food, so delicious! The olive oil and limoncello used in the dishes are available for purchase, so we took some with us, of course. Highly recommended!

The food and the staff was amazing! An absolute pleasure to have a taste of Italian cuisine. A small recommendation, please serve the wine in a good temperature and in front of client. I ordered the most expensive wine and I’ve never seen the bottle…just the glass that waiter gave it to me. The place is very nice , good accommodation and atmosphere. Im sure ill be back this year.

Our favorite place for really good takeaway pizza! The ingredients are fresh, the dough is perfect—just like in Italy. They also have great Italian products like pasta and tuna that you'd hardly find anywhere else. Friendly, authentic, and highly recommended!

Just like in Italy – they can conjure up great dishes even without a menu. The next generation has taken over, and they're doing a great job. Good wines – reasonable prices. Perfect for families and business lunches. Unfortunately, it's closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. In summer, you can also sit outside.

A wonderful Italian restaurant with beautiful interiors and a great outdoor terrace. Attentive and very friendly service; you can tell this is a family-run restaurant. A beautiful menu with a good selection of Italian dishes. Beef carpaccio, salads, lasagna, and spaghetti de la casa—we were pleasantly surprised, as we had stumbled upon the Cilentano quite by chance.

5 Stars – A Completely Successful Visit to Ristorante Cilentano Last Sunday, I visited Ristorante Cilentano for the first time with my three children – and I can only say: the many positive Google reviews are absolutely justified! We received a very warm welcome as soon as we entered. The staff is incredibly friendly and attentive – you immediately feel at ease and welcome. My children were also thrilled and visibly at home. Absolutely recommended for families! About the food: On my first visit, I opted for my favorite appetizer, Vitello Tonato – a true classic, and wonderfully prepared here. It was accompanied by a Margherita pizza, just as it should be: crispy, aromatic, perfect. My children had spaghetti with salmon, spaghetti aglio e olio, and a pizza tonno without onions – everything was delicious, fresh, and very well-seasoned. I would particularly like to emphasize the excellent value for money and the cozy, stylish ambiance, which makes you feel like you've truly arrived at the Italian restaurant around the corner – in the best sense of the word. A small personal request: Since I'm a huge vitello tonato fan (I could eat a ton of it!), I would have preferred the slices a bit thicker and the portion a bit larger – but that's really just complaining at a high level. Next time, I'll just mention it beforehand, because I'm sure this request will be kindly accommodated. Conclusion: For me, Cilentano is one of the best Italian restaurants in Cologne – and I know a few! A big thank you to the team – we'll definitely be back. We stumbled upon Cilentano by chance, and I never would have thought I'd discovered such an incredibly good and welcoming restaurant. I've been here three times now: drinks, appetizers, pizza, and pasta. Everything was always beautifully served and tasted just as good. The staff is professional and welcoming and came by regularly to check on our well-being. The only drawback is that they unfortunately don't offer any milk alternatives. But otherwise, I would rate Cilentano as one of the top five Italian restaurants in Cologne so far.

We love the Cilentano in Braunsfeld. It's a bit hidden away, but always well-stocked for good reason. The pizza is consistently a hit (sometimes the crust is a bit too wide for me), it always arrives piping hot – and, above all, always served by friendly, very dedicated staff. The service is truly outstanding. Many other dishes also impressed us (we haven't been able to try all of them yet), only the pasta with eggplant came across a bit "weak" a few weeks ago. The ambiance, unfortunately, isn't exactly romantic Italian, but rather modern and well-maintained – full marks for great value, excellent service, and always a good time. Reservations are recommended on weekends starting in the afternoon, especially if you're coming with more than just two people.

We had dinner at the Cilentano with a large group of 11 adults and 9 children after a visit to the Cologne Zoo, and we were thrilled. We received a friendly welcome and very attentive service. The food was excellent! Despite the large group and different pizza and pasta orders, the dishes were served in a way that allowed us all to eat together! A huge compliment and a huge thank you to the entire team! We felt very comfortable!

Very nice restaurant and super nice staff

Went to this restaurant for lunch today. We had a bruschetta as a starter, lasagne for the main course, two pizzas and a portion of fries for the little one. Everything was fantastic, freshly prepared and simply delicious. The staff was also very friendly. If we are in Cologne again, we will definitely come back. All in all a very nice restaurant, prices for the food were absolutely ok, the atmosphere was great. Definitely a clear recommendation from us.

What a great surprise! We discovered this restaurant by chance as it is not visible from the street. We had a wonderful evening. Excellent service and the food tasted fantastic. The Spaghetti alla Casa didn't skimp on seafood and the salami in the Pizza Diavola was of great quality. The prices are absolutely reasonable and the restaurant has a nice atmosphere. Larger, modern Italian restaurant. Diverse menu with pizza and pasta as well as fish and meat. We had octopus with beans and penne with baked vegetables, both were good. I would particularly like to mention the attentive, friendly service. Unfortunately, Google Maps couldn't find the nearby parking garage. However, parking was possible on the side of the road.

We were at Cilentano today with 10 people. We each had a starter, main course, and dessert. Every course and every dish was truly delicious. Excellent service and quality at a really affordable price. I ate at Cilentano for the first time today. My companion had ordered a non-alcoholic cocktail and it turned out that it wasn't sweet enough for her. When asked if everything was OK, we answered truthfully and of course the cocktail was improved accordingly. The same applies to a request for food. Absolutely professional, warm, friendly and of outstanding quality at a price that families can also afford. The other locations also seemed very well maintained and you could tell that the quality of the food and customer satisfaction came first. All in all, a very successful evening and it won't be the last of its kind in Cilentano. I wish the family health and maximum success, please keep it up.

Went for dinner Monday night. Busy, busy busy!!! But they fit us in. The food was good and came in good time. We both had pasta which was well made. A green salad was big enough to share. I’d recommend this place for friendly staff and well cooked Italian food.

Great restaurant with a nice atmosphere! The service is also super friendly and pickup is quick too. The food tastes good. The only two drawbacks: the price is not exactly cheap for the food on offer and unfortunately the opening times are strange (closed two days in a row and usually closed from early evening). It's rare to remember a pizza. But here I was made a high-quality pizza in the finest atmosphere and the soup beforehand was extremely excellent. I will come again!
