There were six of us there. We had reserved a table well in advance. At first, we were ignored at all. When I approached the waitress and pointed out our reservation, while also politely asking for a table in the shade, I was immediately given a hard time. We did eventually get a table in the shade, but we had to wait 20 minutes for our drinks, and we were able to order our food after about 30 minutes. Our request for water for the flowers we had brought with us was also ignored. We ended up getting it ourselves at the counter. We also had to find water for the dog. The food was unfortunately below average. The steak sauce arrived five minutes after our plates, heated in the microwave and not even stirred. A slimy mess. The rice was hard, and the farmer's salad had practically no dressing. All the dishes were presented without decoration and rather carelessly placed on the plate. When it came time to pay, we unfortunately discovered that we had four drinks too many on our bill. These were canceled, but we weren't given a farewell, nor were we offered the typical schnapps. Honestly, I wouldn't go back just because of the poor service. It's a shame, because we chose this place based on the good reviews.

The interior is very nice. Very clean and the decor is beautiful. The staff are super friendly and very polite. We will definitely eat here again.

We have eaten at Cigo's several times, the staff is very friendly and accommodating, the dishes are very tasty and generous in size, we think the daily menu is very great, with soup of the day, salad, main course and dessert, simply great and tasty, great value for money! When the weather is nice, you can sit outside and enjoy nature. You can also sit inside in a cozy atmosphere. A visit is definitely worth it.

For my husband and I it is our favorite restaurant. We are there regularly. We also celebrated our civil wedding here in 2022 :) That was super nice and of course super tasty.

We celebrated our son's communion there yesterday. I would like to thank the competent service and team once again. The food was very, very good and nothing was missing. Go there since 10 years and was never disappointing. Service is super and food always fresh prepared. Plus the Menu, they propose a full set (entrée, plat, dessert) for app. 15€ which is more and more rare to find in restaurants. Always a pleasure to go there!!

The restaurant offers a wide selection of tasty dishes. In addition, menus are offered at lunchtime at a good price. The self-service salad bar also offers a plus. The staff is super accommodating.

I often eat at Cigos and have tried various dishes. Cigos is a restaurant with, in my opinion, a very good price-performance ratio, which is rarely found in terms of quality today. It's more classic and not modern cuisine and that includes cream sauce and steak or schnitzel. You should like that. I, for one, am a fan. And yes, there have been times when the food didn't meet my expectations and the waitresses were stressed. Nevertheless, they still tried very hard there. In my experience, this was also the exception in times when there was a lot going on. I find that⁹ understandable and humane. 👍

I don't know what they mean by meat skewer in the restaurant, I got slightly thicker belly slices on a shish kebab skewer. The first visit for me and it was done.

We often eat in the restaurant at Lake Kemnader. In summer you can also enjoy delicious ice cream or cake with chocolate filling on the terrace. We always enjoy eating there and it's always delicious. We were certainly not there for the last time.

I was invited to dinner by colleagues from the Witten plant and we went to Cigo. The reception was very nice, the location was clean and well-kept. I had a grill plate with fries, and I can't complain. Exactly what you would expect. Keep it up.

Absolut nicht zu empfehlen ! Das Essen war eine Zumutung.. Fleischgerichte waren mit Sehnen und Knorpeln durchzogen und total zäh. Als wir das Personal darauf hingewiesen haben, erhielten wir nur eine abwertende Reaktion.. wirklich unfreundlich und zeugt nicht von gutem Service ! Dementsprechend sieht man uns dort nie wieder !

We ate at Cigos for the first time yesterday. The food was OK. What doesn't work at all is that the store is officially open until 10 p.m. and we were asked to check out at around half past ten. We sat there in a cozy atmosphere with our drinks and it was pitch black. After the payment was made, the door was locked and you no longer even had the opportunity to use the toilet. There was no response to knocks on the door, even though the lights in the restaurant were still on and we still saw people in the shop when we left. This is really an outrage. If you're officially open until 10 p.m., you can expect to be able to use the toilet until 10 p.m. We definitely won't be coming back and wouldn't recommend the store to anyone! It's a shame for this disappointment.

We were there today with 22 people, mostly seniors. After a boat trip on Lake Kemnader and the Ruhr. We made reservations there beforehand. We received a friendly welcome, had great seats under the umbrellas, and the service was excellent. Everyone was happy, the cake tasted delicious and we felt very comfortable. We were there for lunch today with 12 people. The menu isn't lavish, but it doesn't need to be. If the reduced number of dishes leads to an increase in quality, that's fine with me. Prices have now risen sharply, like everywhere else. I had a medium rump steak with French fries. There were also vegetables and you could put together a salad at the salad bar. The meat was of low quality, partly streaked with tendons and quite tough. I also didn't think the meat was seasoned properly. Salt and pepper are only available in sachets like in a fast food restaurant. I found the salad bland in taste. Here too, the quality of the individual vegetables left something to be desired. The whole thing for a price just under €30. In my opinion the price is too high for what is offered. I ordered a wheat beer with it, which was only lukewarm. Overall a disappointment for me. Questions from others in our group largely confirmed my assessment. Only 2 or 3 were satisfied with the food they ordered.

Very tasty food, whether schnitzel or steak or cevapcici or stuffed minced steak… There were 10 of us and we tried the menu. Ice cream sundae for dessert was also very tasty and huge. Hardly manageable. Always my pleasure. Nice service and child-friendly.

Spacious beer garden with a hedge separated from the street. Attentive service. Vegetarian dishes are overpriced. The rump steak was well done and the pork medallion was just as firm. The mushroom sauce only had a few mushrooms, the rest was thickened light "pudding".

The place is very nice and cozy, the food is delicious, the price is also right and the staff is very friendly. We liked it. It's always a good place to go again.

Unfortunately, the medium steak arrived at the table rather rare. It was returned. The same steak was then fried a little again, which unfortunately made it a bit tough. The side dishes until the meat was ready... unfortunately a bit cold. Mayo only from packets... unfortunately it was a one-off visit for us.

We were invited to a birthday dinner at Cigo's on February 18, 2024 with a total of 8 people. From the greeting to the farewell, the waitress was absolutely friendly, courteous and very quick. Drinks were prepared very quickly despite the restaurant being full, and we didn't have to wait long for the food. The food, we ordered cordon rouge, cordon bleu, cevapcici, beef and pork medallions, gypsy schnitzel, mushroom schnitzel, rump steak and, for dessert, apple strudel and pancakes, was consistently excellent. The steak was fried to perfection, the homemade cevapcici with ajvar and djuvec rice were a direct reminder of our last vacation in Croatia. The apple strudel and the pancakes completely rounded off the taste experience. Rarely in Germany have I been served such an excellent strudel. It won't be the last visit and I can fully recommend Cigos.

Sehr gutes Essen und preiswert. Immer wieder sehr gut.

Wir waren zum wiederholten Mal im Cigos, um zum wiederholten Mal sind uns ein paar Dinge aufgefallen, die nicht "Mal passieren" können, sondern wirklich vermehrt auftauche. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und engagiert. Fünf Punkte für die Damen. Das Salatbuffet ist frisch, abwechslungsreich und lecker. Das Fleisch war in Ordnung und die Folienkartoffeln kam heiß und war sehr lecker. Nun zu den Mankos: die Süßkartoffelpommes sind zu schlabberig, das Gemüse und der Reis waren nur lauwarm und der Mais verbrannt. Der Spinat war ebenfalls lauwarm und ehrlich gesagt, fehlte es dort an Pfiff. Wie bereits andere beschrieben haben, wurden wir um 21.37 Uhr abkassiert und wurden noch nicht einmal gefragt ob wir noch "eine letzte Runde" haben möchten. Um 22.10 (ja wir haben es Mal ausgereizt) wurden wir "rausgeschmissen" Wiel ja die Putzfrau schon da wäre. Von den Kellnerinnen war niemand mehr da. Nur der Herr von der Bar. Ehrlich gesagt laden solche Sachen nicht dazu ein, dort zu verweilen und mit Freunden die man selten sieht noch etwas sitzen zu bleiben und etwas zu trinken und zu quatschen. Wir haben nun entschieden. Wir kommen nicht wieder!

Wir waren am 26.12. mit sieben Personen im Cigo's essen. Wir saßen in einem kleinen abgetreten Bereich des Restaurants. Es gibt keine Beanstandungen, alles top! Wir waren schön öfters dort und werden auf jeden Fall wieder kommen!

Essen war okay, gibt aber bessere Lokale für Grillspezialitäten. Preis-Leistung passt nicht. Und es gab keinen Schnaps zur Rechnung, daher auch noch ein Punktabzug.

Mittagsmenue eher geschmacklos. Tomatensuppe verwässert, Salat und Dressing ok, bei Schnitzel und Pommes wurde auf Salz verzichtet. Pfeffersauce aus dem Eimer. Pannacotta ok. Nie wieder!

Gutes Essen. Die Schnitzel sind klasse. Das angebotene Mittagsmenü ist vom Preis her, sehr gut. Der große Biergarten 🍺 lädt zu einem Getränk nach einer Radtour ein. Das Serviceteam versucht allen Gästen gerecht zu werden.

Ein grosser Tisch für 12 Leute reserviert und dekoriert wurde auch nicht obwohl man sagte das es dekoriert werden sollte zur Hochzeit 👎 Bedienung erst freundlich bemüht nach paar Stunden später hatten die 2 Frauen möglich keine lust mehr und haben uns nicht mehr bedient 👎 man musste selber aufstehen und bescheid geben das man ein bier will , zudem wir leider polnisch verstehen ist das eine Unverschämtheit uns zu beleidigen . Die 2 Frauen würde ich als Chef direkt rausschmeißen ! Um 21:38uhr wurden wir dringlich zum bezahlen aufgefordert. Komme nicht mehr dahin und suche mir bessere location mit freundlichen Personal die auch zeigen das der Laden verdienen will . TRINKGELD GABS GARANTIERT NICHT !!!! REICHT DAS WIR DA KNAPP 600EURO GELASSEN HABEN

Richtig schlechtes Restaurant! Hochzeit gefeiert aber sowas von schlechter Service, unfreundliches Personal. Ambiente: Keine Stimmung bzgl Musik oder ähnliches Service: Gäste mussten Service hinterherlaufen, EINMAL NIE WIEDER dort gewesen..... schade um das Brautpaar! Und um das Geld, Essen: War Kalt Achso und zu früh rausgeschmissen aus dem Restaurant obwohl Öffnungszeiten bis 22 Uhr waren!!!!

Total unfreundlich,gehen nicht auf die Wünsche der Besucher ein.Musik darf man bei Feiern nicht hören.Man soll dort wie in einer Kirche sitzen und trauern. Wenn die Mitarbeiter in der Primetime (15 Uhr)pause machen,muss man Ewigkeiten auf sein Essen warten.

Heute zum ersten mal mit meinem LFA hier gewesen und bestimmt nicht zum letzten mal.

Es ist ein wunderschöner Ort. Es hat mir gefallen. Ich werde wieder dorthin zurückkehren 😃

Wir waren an einem schönen Spätsommerabend zu Gast. Vor uns waren 2 grosse Gruppen . Wir haben zu viert Grillteller bestellt. Als nach fast 1 1/2 Stunden , alle Gäste die nach uns gekommen waren ihr Essen hatten , fragte ich die vorbei huschende Kellnerin , wann denn unser Essen käme. Die Antwort kam sehr barsch. Danach ging es Ruck zuck. Unser Essen wurde serviert . Wären wir doch nur vorher gegangen. Die Pommes matschig .Ein Teil vollkommen versalzen , der andere Teil salzlos . Das Fleisch zäh und fettig. Ich habe dann den Reis , 3 helle Cevapcici und paar Pommes gegessen. Der Rest ist zurück gegangen. Der Kellnerin war es selbst peinlich . Aber es kam auch kein Angebot eines Kaffee oder ähnliches Fazit : Einmal und nie Wieder. Selten so schlecht gegessen .

Sehr schönes Lokal mit grossem Biergarten am Kemnader See gelegen. Man hat hier auch eine Mittagskarte. Das Essen ist sehr gut. Man kann noch kostenpflichtig die Parkplätze am See nutzen.

Während des Zelt Festivals Ruhr, wird einem die Zufahrt zum Restaurant verwehrt. Also nicht während des Zeltfestivals versuchen dort hin zu kommen.
