The pizzas are simply amazing. Manu's service was excellent, even in a packed restaurant. Absolutely fantastic. I'll definitely be back.

There was no pizza chef on site; only pasta dishes were available. We weren't informed of this until after we had already ordered. Since we had been waiting for a long time, we ordered anyway. The tortellini were still very hard, and the truffle pasta had very little truffle flavor. The staff was unfriendly, and we had to wait a long time for someone to come. Many tables were uncleared, and there was no paper towel in the restroom. Overall, I am disappointed with the organization and the staff's behavior.

We had reserved in advance and still had to wait over 1.5 hours for our pizza. When the food finally arrived, the pizza was cold. An apology is useless. No solution. Absolutely disappointing. That was our last visit.

We were at L'Osteria on Monday at 8:30 pm. The food was great, but the 1.5-hour wait from ordering to receiving the food was definitely too long.

Initially, the staff seemed to cope well with the influx of guests. Friendly and accommodating, unfortunately the kitchen was completely overwhelmed, the wait times were extremely long, and then only two out of three meals arrived. It's a shame; modern technology is useless if the staff aren't attentive in their service.

Unfortunately, the wait for the food was very long at almost 70 minutes. The noise level is very loud, and so is the music – so you try to be louder than the music and end up being even louder when you talk!

That was the biggest disappointment in a long time. Our food was apparently forgotten, and after 90 minutes we had to ask them to pack it up so we wouldn't miss our next appointment. There was no apology or offer of compensation, neither during the wait nor when we paid. Not even a discount or complimentary drinks. We received the gnocchi without shrimp, and the bruschetta was completely forgotten; yet we were still charged for both in full. The service was abysmal. We felt like a large chain resting on its laurels. Definitely the last time, especially considering how expensive the food was, and it didn't even taste exceptional.

We ate there on December 26th with four people. The staff were reasonably friendly until we paid. The drinks arrived promptly, and the food was okay. The ham pizza was more like a Margherita and very disappointing. We wouldn't visit this restaurant again.

The order via Lieferando was cancelled after an hour's wait, thus ruining our evening with horrendous planning (or rather, the lack thereof)...

We were at the restaurant on December 26, 2025, with a group of nine. The service staff was excellent. Unfortunately, the pizzas were a bit dry today, and the toppings were placed too centrally, so more than just the edges were dry. The spaghetti with filet tips definitely needs improvement. It's great that you can share the pizzas.

We've been here several times and always enjoy coming back. The staff are always friendly. Drinks arrive quickly, and you don't have to wait too long for the food either. The food is always delicious.

We spontaneously decided to go there yesterday (Friday) after shopping. We sat in the conservatory at the very back. The two waiters were fantastic. So friendly and helpful to each other. We really enjoyed ourselves with the waitress. She was a great help to her colleague. The lady at the door was also very friendly. We think it's far too rare these days to hear something nice. Most of the time, unfortunately, people just complain. Saying something nice now and then is good for your karma, too 😉

A great address in the Ruhrpark Bochum. The delicious food is familiar from other L'Osterien restaurants. Excellent standards. The staff is friendly, helpful, and efficient.

We were a group of four at L'Osteria Ruhrpark. The young woman at the entrance was amazing; she was so calm and efficient in assigning tables while still keeping an eye on all the waiting guests... incredible. Once we got a table, a waiter quickly took our drink orders, but we waited about 20 minutes for them, which I thought was quite long. Then the main course took over an hour to arrive... I can't stand that. However, the taste made up for it. I can only agree with the previous reviews: it's incredibly loud in the restaurant.

We were seated at a table with the explanation that it was reserved for an hour and a half. We waited 30 minutes before we could order, another 30 minutes passed before the drinks arrived, and yet another 20 minutes before the pizza. This time the experience was terrible. A super inviting shop! We were visiting my mother in Bochum and came across it while taking a walk. The wine was delicious and the service was very attentive. Especially the waiter with the glasses, beard, and arm tattoos. His smile created a wonderfully friendly atmosphere. It felt very welcoming and like home.

December 30, 2022. One star is still too much! Since when do people judge based on their appearance or nationality whether and when they get a free table or simply have to wait longer because that's what she wants??? The unfriendly usher/waitress seated us at the bar, just like everyone else who arrived after us without a reservation. After 20 minutes, she gave tables to everyone who arrived after us. Then another group without a reservation came in, and they also got a table after a few minutes' wait. Then I asked her what was going on, because we had been waiting for a long time, and all the other people had the same situation as us—no reservation—and had already been given a table. All I got from her was a condescending and unfriendly reprimand that I should wait longer! That was simply too much! In my entire life, no one has ever treated me with such disrespect and humiliation. We just left! That was it! I will NEVER go into a place like that again!

So you always feel welcome, everyone is quite friendly, even though there's always something going on here, I usually come with my little dog… also no problem

Waited more then 1h to get Pizza (what the hell?) They have small kitchen for such a huge space. I would never recommend this place!

Although it was very, very crowded, the service was excellent and handled everything successfully. The food was decent. The toilets were terrible, and the noise level was also a problem, as there was no acoustic treatment.

It was busy and noisy. However, we could still have a conversation, and we were seated a bit apart. My pasta (spaghetti with arugula and tomatoes) was good, and the small salad was also very good value for money. My colleague had pizza, which I also tried and was good.

We ate there on a Sunday at lunchtime, and it wasn't particularly busy. Therefore, the wait at the entrance was rather incomprehensible. Although there were still plenty of free tables inside, we were sent to the conservatory despite having a reservation. As the staff member admitted, it was difficult to heat the conservatory with an outside temperature of 2 degrees Celsius, which is why my girlfriend was freezing. Regarding the food: the lasagna I ordered was very small and far from filling. My girlfriend's pasta dish arrived lukewarm and didn't taste good enough to make us want to come back, which we won't be doing.

I decided to visit this restaurant for my birthday. The experience was spoiled. We waited for our order for over an hour and the explanation of "too many visitors" is not accepted, as several tables that arrived long after us (one of which was a family of 6) received their order, and we were still waiting for one single pizza. They simply forgot about us, despite the fact that we were sitting right next to the cupboard with dishes, where the waiters were constantly nearby. We arrived at 9:30 PM, but unfortunately it was already closed. Takeout wasn't possible either, as we were told the kitchen had already been cleaned. According to the website, it's open until 11:00 PM.

The food was very good and the portions were very large. We had tuna pizza, spaghetti carbonara, gnocchi, and pasta with seafood, along with a small mixed salad. The price was reasonable for these portions. The restaurant was a bit noisy. We could still have a conversation, but the noise level was quite high. We especially commend the waiters, who were very polite and attentive. There were no long waits. We will be back again this evening.

I only want to review the service, as the food is usually very tasty. I accidentally ordered a pizza for pickup from the wrong location. I actually wanted to pick up a pizza downtown, not at Ruhrpark. I called about 20 times 40 minutes before pickup, and again afterward. Unfortunately, there was no response, nor did I reply to my emails. Even 50 minutes after the scheduled pickup, there was still no response. They didn't even bother to ask where I was. Apparently, they don't care about the customer; I've already paid, so it's their problem!

We had a really lovely evening at L’Osteria. The food was delicious and the service was excellent. The drinks and food arrived quickly even though the place was packed.

L'Osteria in Bochum once again confirms the well-known saying "If you've seen one, you've seen them all"—in the best possible way. As always, the restaurant presents itself as a very family-friendly place. We enjoy coming here with the whole family for a meal, and the children love it. The quality is consistently high: The food is, as always, delicious, and the dishes offer the expected Italian culinary delight. A major advantage of the location is the convenient parking. Located in the Ruhrpark shopping center, there are plenty of parking spaces. For electric car drivers, the location offers a special bonus: It's very close to the charging stations, which makes charging time much more efficient. L'Osteria Bochum is therefore a perfect, uncomplicated meeting place for families and lovers of Italian cuisine.

We were at L' Osteria Bochum on October 18, 2025, from approximately 2:40 p.m. to 4:20 p.m. Since it was too loud inside, we sat on the terrace at table 507. Had we known how long our stay would be, we certainly would have changed our minds and not come at all. We were able to order our drinks relatively quickly, and they arrived after a reasonable 20 minutes. Around 3 p.m., we ordered our food: chicken salad and pizza. After being ignored by the waiter 35 minutes after ordering our food (I raised my hand several times), and our drinks had been empty for 15 minutes, I approached a service employee at his service desk by the main entrance. I pointed out the long wait for the food, especially because guests inside who had entered after us had already received their pizzas. I also mentioned that we hadn't had any drinks for at least 15 minutes, despite the long wait. I announced that if the food wasn't delivered within the next 5 minutes, we would leave. At this point, we had already been in the restaurant for 55 minutes. After an incredible 10 minutes, the salad was brought and a drink order was taken. There was no sign of the pizza anywhere. It was then brought another 10 minutes later, 55 minutes after the order, or 1 1/4 hours into the restaurant. That it wasn't served as ordered (garlic was missing) didn't surprise me anymore. When we got the bill, we expressed our displeasure to the server and asked to speak to the shift manager. He didn't come. Why weren't we surprised?! After 100 minutes, we left the restaurant. For a pizza and a salad. Unbelievable. Just to be clear: If, for whatever reason, there are long wait times in restaurants, guests should be informed in advance. This way, each customer can decide for themselves whether to accept them. Of course, we had no information! Our experience means we won't be back!

The waiter was barely audible due to the volume, and he constantly had to bend down to hear us and the other guests to understand what we were saying. Unfortunately, we weren't asked whether we enjoyed the food, or whether we wanted dessert or a drink. We asked ourselves about the dessert menu, but unfortunately, there was nothing compelling on the menu. Overall, the visit was okay. However, due to the noise, I wouldn't go back.

The dessert was a disaster: the panna cotta tasted like nothing, and the lemon sorbet was just a cheap paper cup with rock-hard ice cream. Inedible. I will definitely not go here again! Simply a disaster. Too loud, too bad service, and poor quality.

You should reserve a table then the waiting time is not so long and you are usually brought directly to your table. I only waited 10 minutes at the most.

Not a pleasant visit. You're usually greeted at the entrance and shown to your seat – but here, all guests were left at the bar without any information to please wait a moment. You wait at least an hour for your food – with the excuse that the place is full. I think a lack of staff is more likely the case here. When we finally wanted to cancel our order, they started arguing with us. After a few minutes, the cancellation was accepted – which clearly shows that even after more than an hour, they hadn't even started preparing our food. Our visit was a complete disaster – long waits, unfriendly treatment, and no customer or service orientation at all. Unfortunately, I absolutely do not recommend it.
