Very lovely Spanish restaurant with unbelievably pleasant staff. Super tasty and cosy

Yesterday, seven of us were there and we were really looking forward to the evening. Unfortunately, we were very disappointed. Of the seven meals, four arrived relatively quickly. The other three were forgotten, which was only admitted after the third time, in a more stern tone. The restaurant did cover the last round as an apology, but it didn't save the evening. We will neither recommend this restaurant nor will we return.

The most beautiful outdoor lighting in Bochum—an oasis! Super friendly, attentive service, the food is now also delicious, and the price-performance ratio is reasonable. Highly recommended, especially in good weather!

Full of anticipation, we drove to this restaurant on July 11, 2025, at 7 p.m. There were four of us. We were able to order our food relatively quickly. I have to say, the food arrived at 10:12 p.m. after almost 3.5 hours and repeated requests. We were absolutely stunned! We absolutely cannot recommend this restaurant, as more than 3 hours is simply too long, even for the most patient. We won't be coming back!

Great location. Two of us spontaneously dropped in. The service staff were very friendly and worked nonstop. We were seated on the secluded terrace. It was a really great experience in a lovely setting for a pleasant short break. The food was really good. We had various tapas, served one after the other. Cold, warm, hot... everything was perfect. The bread was warm, the aioli was super soft and creamy. Very tasty. A lovely overall experience, a bit like being on vacation. We enjoyed it. Highly recommended. We would recommend it to our friends.

Great atmosphere, attentive staff. In my opinion, the quality of the tapas has unfortunately declined. Everything is brought out at once, tapas are forgotten and charged for later. The chicken paella I ordered turned out to be seafood. It was then remade in a short time, and I have to say, for €19.90, it's more like a very simple rice dish. Unfortunately, it's getting better...

Maybe our expectations were too high, but overall the result was disappointing. The staff and the atmosphere are very nice. The quality of the food was also good. We had the starter plate and main courses. What didn't work was the long wait for the food. What was also underground was the size of the portions. Despite the starter we left the restaurant hungry. And at very hefty prices. Sorry, no go.

There were four of us in the restaurant, and everyone received their food at the same time. Unfortunately, my wife received a raw burger. I complained and went to the staff after seven minutes, and then again after 15 minutes, to get a replacement as soon as possible. It was all to no avail; the three of us eventually finished our meals, and my wife still hadn't had any food. That was extremely depressing, especially since the waitress ignored my concerns. It got loud, and I talked to the chef, but it didn't help. A separate conversation with the waitress didn't produce a satisfactory result either. I would have actually expected a small gesture to end the disharmony, but the waitress didn't take any notice. The evening didn't really go the way we had hoped as a group. As a guest, I didn't really feel comfortable in this situation. You'd better not complain; the restaurant staff can't really handle that kind of thing.

We often eat out in Spanish restaurants and still feel most at home at una mas in Bochum.

Service and ambience top! However, the price-performance ratio can be improved in some areas. Main courses are sometimes very small and the food could have been much warmer. Drinks (for example large apple spritzer at €6.10) are also very expensive. Unfortunately there is no children's menu.

Disappointing experience despite high expectations We were really looking forward to a lovely evening in your restaurant, but unfortunately we were disappointed. The wrong food was brought to the table several times, which significantly disrupted the process. Another point of criticism is the price-performance ratio. A simple salad with just a few chicken strips for 15 euros seems significantly overpriced to us. Overall, the price level did not seem appropriate for the quality offered. Nevertheless, we would like to note that the service was friendly, even if the organization seems to be in need of improvement. It would be nice if you worked on these points to be able to convince future guests of your concept.

You can get very high quality Spanish food in this inconspicuous restaurant in Bochum. The dishes are prepared from fresh and high-quality ingredients. The selection corresponds to the typical offering of Spanish restaurants. The staff is very courteous and can also competently answer questions about the offer. The restaurant is cozy and stylish at the same time. These positive features naturally lead to a certain price, but it is also appropriate.

It's just delicious, nice music that's not too loud. You can sit outside. Staff really super friendly. Nice atmosphere. We're always happy to be there! 💖

Overall, the food was good to very good, the terrace is beautiful and the staff is on their toes! There is a star deduction for the worst churros I have ever eaten for €8. We will definitely come back and skip dessert 😉

After I was assigned a seat by an employee, all further service ended. No drinks were taken and eye or conversational contact could not be established because people actively looked away. All the surrounding tables were diligently served and cleared away. Guests who arrived long after me were brought forward. Apparently no one was responsible for my table, which was a little higher up. When I left the restaurant in exasperation after a long wait, I said goodbye with an express and deliberately polite thank you for the "excellent service", which the two "service staff" at the exit did not understand. It wasn't until I turned around again and explicitly asked her about the lack of service that at least one of them felt compelled to express regret. Nobody came up with the idea of ​​asking whether the situation could be somehow saved or at least improved.

Price performance very high but overall very good.

In a nutshell: Tofte! Nice evening with friends with very friendly, attentive staff with really tasty tapas, dessert and drinks. We will be back definitely!!

Either the chef is replaced or La Mesa should remove the steak from the menu. It was burnt and didn't taste good. At least some of the service staff responded well to the criticism. One of the waiters still has to learn how much wine a carafe contains. Filling a glass to the top and then trying to pour it back into other glasses is not an option. We were stunned. Here, too, a clear message was needed. As a starter we had tapas, which were really great. We'll try again, but this will be our last chance.

My absolute favorite tapas restaurant in the area! The food is always very tasty and fresh. The entire staff is super friendly and accommodating. The new winter garden is great and invites you to linger. There are delicious vegetarian dishes as well as a large selection of fish and meat. I would particularly like to note the house Wagyu beef, which is not available everywhere :)

Great food, always worth a visit

We have eaten there several times and also had “normal” dishes, but we were impressed by the tapas. Also worth mentioning is the very nice service and the cozy restaurant. Lots of space but because of the different areas it doesn't seem too big.

The ambience is very nice. Unfortunately our order was mixed up even though the restaurant wasn't that full. There were eight of us there and the main courses unfortunately arrived 20-25 minutes later. The food was OK, but the baguette was very good.

We had dinner at La Mesa Restaurant on a Monday. We wanted to introduce a couple of friends to the restaurant that we have been to many times and were also happy with. Unfortunately, this time we found that the performance had deteriorated significantly and the prices had risen significantly despite the deteriorating quality and were no longer proportionate. In addition, the staff was unfortunately not qualified and could not prepare our aperitif for us because they did not know the entire menu or how the drinks were prepared. The food wasn't particularly tasty either, the portions were sometimes so small that you could have had a main course for the price of two tapas. Overall, it was not an enjoyable culinary evening at La Mesa.

I have been 100 percent satisfied countless times so far. Last time I ordered the fish plate and was horrified because all the fish was fried to death. From a Spaniard I expect grilled fish without disgusting breading. You should be able to see it on the menu, then I definitely wouldn't have ordered this dish. Really a shame and absolutely not recommended dish for around €30!

Wirklich sehr leckere Tapas! Dazu freundliche Bedienung und angenehme Wartezeiten. Die Tapas kamen von Zeit und Reihenfolge so, dass man alles heiß genießen konnte und was wir ausgesucht hatten, hat alles wirklich richtig gut geschmeckt. Der Laden ist auch sehr nett eingerichtet. Eigentlich waren wir nur auf der Durchreise und hatten das Lokal zufällig gefunden, sind aber sehr froh, dass wir es getestet haben :)

Wir waren gestern Abend spontan Tapas essen im La Mesa. Wir wurden direkt freundlich empfangen und ein Besuch ohne vorherige Buchung war in unserem Fall ebenfalls kein Problem. Wir hatten insgesamt 6 Tapas (Aioli, Oliven, gegrilltes Gemüse, Chorizzo, Datteln im Speckmantel und Hähnchen-Spieße). Als Nachtisch eine Creme Catalan. Die Tapas waren alle lecker und die Zutaten wirkten sehr hochwertig, was sich auch im für die Qualität angemessenen Preis widerspiegelte. Tapas sind generell keine günstige Art zu essen, das muss jedem klar sein. Besonders überzeugt haben uns die Hähnchen-Spieße, vom Gemüse waren wir leider nicht so überzeugt. Kleine Verbesserung unsererseits: Die 2 kalten Tapas kamen zuerst, die anderen 4 etwa 15 Minuten später. Hier finden wir es wäre passender alles zusammen zu servieren. Alles in allem waren wir zufrieden und würden jederzeit wieder kommen.

Dieses Lokal hat eine riesige Größe und hat Platz für schätzungsweise 120 Gäste. Kompliment an Sevice und Küche, die auch ein volles Haus ( Wochende ) hervorragend mit Spanischen Spezialitäten versorgt hat.

Gut gelegenes spanisches Restaurant mit modernem und trotzdem sehr gemütlichem Ambiente. Der Service ist freundlich, schnell und hilfsbereit. Die Auswahl an Tapas ist reichlich und mit der Wochenkarte kommt auch eine gewisse Variation rein. Geschmacklich sind die Tapas wirklich gut und empfehlenswert.
