My companion and I made a great choice with PABLO. We felt very comfortable. It was full, but the service was still very attentive. The snacks were truly delicious. 🤌🏼 Highly recommended.

Very friendly, attentive service, but not intrusive. We usually go there during the warmer summer months and, as always, we were more than satisfied. The food was absolutely excellent and highly recommended. We quite like the ambiance, but as always, it's all a matter of taste. We'll definitely be back. Best wishes to the entire team.

We were at Pablo's a few days ago. Unfortunately, the tapas didn't really impress us this time and seemed a bit expensive for the price. We've had mussels here before, which were really delicious, so our expectations were high. It's a shame the value wasn't quite right this time.

Spain, far away... I've rarely eaten such a bad meal. The sherry-soaked chicken was completely overcooked and sat in a watery broth. The chicken skewers were two finger-thick pieces of fat with a mango mayonnaise, and papas arrugadas were simple jacket potatoes in crumbly paprika oil. Everything tasted very bland. A waste of money... I have no idea why the restaurant has been around for so long.

I was here for the first time yesterday and was very satisfied. I ordered various tapas. Pleasant atmosphere inside. There are also outdoor areas where food is served.

We were very disappointed with the paella. While it tasted good, it didn't meet our expectations at all. There were no mussels, four scampi (for two people), and the fish used was salmon, which isn't native to the Mediterranean. When we expressed our disappointment, there was no apology. In summary, a disappointing meal on a beautiful summer evening.

After visiting a large furniture store nearby, the question arose as to where we should eat in Bochum-Altenbuchum... The spontaneous choice fell on "Pablo." Of course, we didn't have a reservation, because an hour before we even knew if we wanted to go. Personally, I'm not a fan of all this "reservation hype." But that's another question... 😉 With great difficulty, we managed to get the last available table at Pablo. It was inside, but that didn't matter to us. After that, it was time to study the menu. Tapas or main course was now the question... We opted for a main course, namely the Rump Steak Rustico with fried pancetta, young garlic, and shallots (for €30) and several tapas: Among other things, we ordered two of the Gambas al ajillo (€8.50), the Carne guisada (beef stew for €7.50), the Pollo en salsa de Jerez (€7.50), Higo en vacón (figs (!) wrapped in bacon for €5.50), and bread and potatoes with aioli. All of the ordered dishes arrived at the same time, which was great for tasting each other's favorites. And—not unimportantly—all of the dishes tasted good to very good. Incidentally, the two empty Pilsner glasses in the photo with the dishes were replaced with full ones shortly after the photo was taken 😉 If you're in Bochum and like beer, you should always try Fiege beers! Conclusion: A successful and tasty restaurant visit!

It was our first time at Pablo in Bochum and we had a really nice evening. The location is cozy, relaxed and has a special charm with its nostalgic bowling alley. The menu is well structured - there is a wide selection of tapas and other dishes without feeling overwhelming. The tapas we ordered were delicious and tastefully prepared. Particularly noteworthy is the attentive and friendly service, which made our evening even more enjoyable. A little tip: Tapas can quickly add up, so it's better to approach it slowly. Ordering a few too many tapas can quickly add up to €20-30. Conclusion: A lovely evening in a stylish location with delicious food and great service. The prices are high, but quite normal for high-quality tapas. We'll definitely come back!

The tappas selection is small compared to other tappas bars but tastes very good. The starter platter for 6 people for 43 euros is tasty but not enough (price performance is not quite right) The pork fillet (stuffed with feta cheese and tomatoes) was a disappointment. Way too dry. The service was ok but not exceptionally friendly. Just do their job. Unfortunately no changing table. Changing the baby on the floor on the toilet is not that great. In a restaurant I expect an opportunity to change a child's diaper. Overall ok. You can go there. But I've seen much better restaurants.

After a walk by the lake on Monday, we spontaneously discovered this great restaurant and enjoyed it at a small table for two. I found the interior very pleasant, simple and rustic. Great service that we had a lot of fun with and was attentive. Fine tapas, crispy, fluffy bread, nice wines (also open to try), delicious, slightly sweet dessert - and good espresso. Everything was great - we felt very comfortable! So thank you & see you next time!

Small restaurant with a very nice and courteous service. The tapas (Albondigas) we tasted were tasty and the cuttlefish skewers were a bit rubbery. Here you should replace the product with better quality and prepare it differently. The paella had little to do with a paella. Not prepared properly and the paella pan is only used for serving and not for preparing it as it should be. Not the right rice used, let alone roasted flavors... Ultimately you could call it a rice with Looking at the seafood - the taste was good (for the dish served). Price-performance ratio satisfactory.

Unfortunately, there is no dish that you can't make yourself in just a few minutes. No sophistication, doesn't taste like freshly cooked! As a pub with a snack with a beer, okay, but unfortunately nothing more... The service is nice and attentive.

Nice pub/restaurant, with friendly and attentive staff. Why only three stars?: 1. If you order mussels, you should see on the menu that they are based on a cream base (we wouldn't have ordered them then) 2. The tapas might be tastier for the price. The sepia skewers are a very small portion 3. The table by the window, facing the garden, cannot be expected in winter. It is understandable that there is a drag because the passage door has to be used. But the windows themselves are so draughty that the cloth that is supposed to protect them is absolutely not sufficient. Here you should make a Styrofoam plate or something similar. This can be solved very cheaply. So after an hour you are really cold and don't stay for dessert or another drink. The review is really meant to be constructive

Today, after the change of ownership, we went to Pablo for the first time for mussels etc. I'm blown away. Spanish ambience, attentive staff and the food - awesome. It's been a long time since I've eaten such fresh mussels. The brew is heavenly! We tried pepper and curry. The tapas were super great. We are still raving about it and we will only recommend Pablo everywhere and will definitely come back.

The Pablo is a pub and a restaurant at the same time in a pleasant way. The waitresses and waiters are attentive and customer-oriented. Fortunately, old house elements such as the "switch" and the entrance door have been preserved. In summer, Pablo has an unbeatable beer garden. Oh well...the food tastes good. However, the Pablo is not particularly cheap. The many small dishes quickly add up to a large bill.

Very comfortably furnished, staff very friendly. Unfortunately there is definitely room for improvement in the kitchen. Food very bland, prawns on Ajillo with half a clove of garlic and no seasoning - unfortunately also very tough, so cooked for too long. Patatas con mojo were served with some sort of breadcrumb paste (?!?!?), no trace of salt crust or mojo. Tortilla completely watery and tasteless. There's something else going on 😕 I haven't had such carelessly prepared food in a long time

Saturday evening, 8:30 p.m. A large group of people are just leaving the restaurant in a quiet residential area and we enter a room with a pub design. A nice waitress asks if we have a reservation and we say no. After a quick check in the larger adjoining room, she can offer us one of the numerous empty tables. We sat down at a table for two, which was quite sticky. When we order the drinks we receive the menu and a sheet to mark. We prove ourselves to be unfamiliar with tapas and receive a short and informative explanation of the main courses, tapas, recommended quantity and ordering technique on the note. The Spanish names on the map were easy to read; the magnifying glass function on the cell phone had to help with the very small translation and explanations and the dim light. Everything works quite well. The food was delivered after a pleasantly short time and looked very tasty. The tomato with spinach dish from the oven was a large tomato with spinach filling (frozen in the spinach season?) the tomato lid was also roasted. However, the large tomato body was cold and did not show any typical oven traces such as warmth or surface texture. The other dishes were tasty and lived up to expectations, even if the amount of bread served and the total amount of two main courses, a large tapas plate and another ragout were not enough to fill us up. After the food was served and the dishes were cleared away, NO ONE came to ask about us: would you like more drinks? Need more tapas and more food? It's all ok? Conclusion: unfortunately I didn't get full, the food didn't live up to the expectations of the description, and there was still room for service

My girlfriend and I were looking forward to a good tapas evening. Unfortunately we were disappointed yesterday. We had ordered a selection of tapas that appeared to have been prepared without olive oil. Judging by the taste, rapeseed oil was probably used, which is not typical of Spanish cuisine at all. Garlic and spice were also missing from the food, the Albondigas were inedible, so the price-performance ratio was not at all good. Later that evening I had stomach problems. Nevertheless, the outside area was nice and the service was friendly.

I've been bowling here once a month with friends for a long, long time and have spent countless lovely evenings here with delicious food and good service. The menu varies well and always offers nice surprises. Please continue!

Mixed tapas are not possible in vegetarian form, as two pieces of meat are smaller than a vegetarian substitute. Vegan dish didn't taste like anything, no vegan desserts.

Nice team, nice restaurant, but unfortunately no delicious tapas. The food was all OK, but pretty bland. There were a lack of spices and some things were prepared significantly differently than you would expect from Spain and other restaurants (e.g. Papas Arrugadas). Unfortunately I don't think it's "authentic".

Pablo is like coming home. It's nice that this shop still exists. Wir hatten über die Website des Restaurants Pablo und die App The fork einen Tisch für 18:00 Uhr am heutigen Tage gebucht. Zuvor hatten wir bei Groupon das Jubiläumsmenü mit Paella gekauft. Obwohl es weder auf der Webseite von Pablo oder auch Groupon, noch auf der App TheFork angegeben war, teilte uns der Mitarbeiter mit, er könne unseren Groupon Gutschein nicht akzeptieren. Stattdessen hätte man es vorher anzukündigen! Eine Alternative wurde uns nicht angeboten, trotz Nachfrage. Wir waren sehr enttäuscht und mussten uns leider hungrig wieder auf den Heimweg machen. Absolut keine Empfehlung!

It was very nice. We had the 3-course menu with a mixed paella for four and it was very tasty. The paella had a lot of mussel meat and small octopus and 4 chicken legs. The waitresses were all very nice! We will go there more often now.

I recently went to Pablo Restaurant and I have to say I was disappointed with my experience. First of all, I was served a stale cola, even though it was obvious that the system wasn't working properly. It was disappointing that despite this obvious problem they still served these without mentioning anything. In addition, all the dishes I ordered were not well seasoned and tasted rather bland. It seemed like the kitchen forgot to use salt. This definitely detracted from the enjoyment of the meal and I was disappointed with the quality of the dishes. Additionally, I had the feeling that the service was not very attentive. Not once was anyone asked if everything was okay or if you liked it. The staff didn't seem particularly engaged or attentive at the table. Overall, my experience at Pablo Restaurant was not satisfactory. I hope they can fix their beverage system, food preparation and service issues to provide a better experience for future customers.

It's definitely worth visiting this location. Of course you should be able to get involved in the ambience of an “old pub with a lot of charm”. Went there and had a four-course menu as a special edition. The tapas at the beginning were great and we were already well full. Afterwards there was paella, which was also good. It was crowded and loud that evening - normally we would find it annoying, but here it gave it a southern touch - it was a bit of a holiday. We enjoyed the evening, the food and the good service. We will be back...

Table reserved two days in advance - lucky, the place was full. With a dog - no problem. Staff quick, attentive and friendly. Not the largest selection of food and drinks - but what's on it doesn't just look good - no, it's also really tasty. Price/performance ratio is okay.

We ordered tapas to pick up for the first time today. The tapas and wedges were still fresh and crunchy even after a 15-minute drive. To agree with the previous speakers, they were excellent. Each individual had their own taste and no two pieces tasted the same. We will definitely order some again. There's still plenty to try on the menu.😄👍

The Pablo restaurant is definitely a good address for tapas. The restaurant has also been around for a few years, which definitely speaks for the restaurant. I have known Pablo since my childhood and also from Bochum Culinary. Unfortunately, the portions/size of the individual tapas were unusually small on our last visit (on January 31st, 2024), only the patatas with aioli were so much that we couldn't manage them with the two of us - because we simply didn't feel like it anymore at some point . Instead, we would have preferred a few more olives or pimentos - we as guests/customers would definitely have been more happy about that. The service was top notch with stars :-)

Sehr schönes, älteres Restaurant/ Kneipe mit sehr schönem Ambiente. Wir haben dort bei einem Weihnachtsessen mit einer großen Gruppe einige schöne Stunden verbracht. Das Essen war sowohl von der Auswahl als auch von der Qualität erstklassig! Auch die Bedienung war sehr Aufmerksam und schnell (man musste nicht lange auf sein Bier warten😉). Ich kann diese Lokalität nur weiterempfehlen!

Essen war an sich gut, nur die Muscheln auf dem Nudelgericht waren kalt. Service spitze: freundlich, schnell. Das Ambiente leidet ein wenig daran, dass zu viele Gäste auf engem Raum beköstigt werden, daher ist es sehr laut und extrem eng. Gerne würde ich im Sommer wieder kommen und den Außenbereich nutzen. Wirkt eher idyllisch.

Hier kann man immer wieder für ein leckeres Abendessen in geselliger Runde einkehren. Ob bei kälteren Temperaturen oder im Sommer im Biergarten,es ist immer wieder lecker!

Mehrere Tapas probiert: gemischte Platte war reichlich, fritas mit Mojo sehr laff und dünn, albondigas und feigen im speckmantel allerdings sehr gut, dessert Limetten panna-cotta wieder lieblos mit laffem dünnes dressing, honigmelone war auch nicht frisch und saftig......Ambiente und Biergarten sehr nett.....vielleicht starten wir irgendwann einen 2. Versuch und geben der Küche eine Chance

Preis/Leistungsverhältnis ist i.O., alles was wir bisher genießen durften war lecker, freundliche und aufmerksame Bedienung, frühzeitige Reservierung (mindestens für FR, SA,SO,) empfehlenswert, ein Stern Abzug für Parkmöglichkeiten, 2-3 Stellplätze vor dem Lokal sind für den Andrang zu wenig, die Anwohner haben schon teilweise an der Straße keine Abstellmöglichkeit für ihre Fahrzeuge, besser ÖPNV benutzen, Haltestelle Altenbochum Kirche, von da aus 350 m zu Fuß.

Gutes Essen, schnelle und nette Bedienung. Angebot nicht so groß, wie bei der gute Restaurant sein soll, aber jede findet was für sich. Wegen Taps kann man viel ausprobieren. Gibt's auch Fleichgerichte oder gegrillte Fisch. Empfehlenswert. 👍
