Sorry, it was once and is no more, a shame. A quiet decline in restaurants is now also occurring in Berlin.

We regularly eat here. It tastes fantastic, nice service and the menu is great for trying out the authentic Chinese cuisine.

Warm and friendly owners that really care about your experience and also delicious food and setting. Properly sized portions too! :)

We went here as it was very conveniently located by our hotel. After walking 10 miles today around Berlin, we didn't want to walk any further! It is a good, friendly and efficient Chinese restaurant. The food is mainly Cantonese and has all the main menu items you would expect. I live in NYC so am very spoiled with excellent and authentic Chinese food, and so whilst this restaurant isn't honestly all that authentic, it is still good and well priced. Our waiter was a star and made the whole experience very fun.

The dinner was quite perfect. Very friendly host with a good portion of entertainment and a good service. The food was excellent - everything we ate was just pure gold <3 I can strongly recommend this restaurant, if you want a more authentic experience in food and host than normal chinese restaurants. After a long day at the trade fair, we were guests at Wei House and were thrilled by the food. Authentic Szechuan cuisine with good spiciness and, above all, not “Germanized”. All dishes were very, very convincing in terms of taste and quality. The portions were generous. A real joy in terms of price as well as the great taste. Courteous and friendly service with good recommendations. Even if we don't come from Berlin, we're happy to make the trip again and look forward to our next visit to the (Chuan) Wei house.

The food tasted good, not the Westerner style of Chinese (orange chicken) if you know what I mean, but also not authentic. The front server (maybe owner) said the chef is Sichuan, so Sichuan is spicy but the food was not very spicy. I went with my German colleagues as there were no other food options in the area. Some of them were vegetarian and there were plenty of vegetarian options on the menu. Not just the basic fried tofu or mapo dish but good vegetarian imitation meat cooked with the same sauce as the usual meat dish. The portions were surprisingly very small for a Chinese restaurant for the price, maybe that's Berlin? What really peeved me was that the rice that was served was cold. First bowl cold, OK, maybe it was the bottom of the barrel, second bowl 30 minutes later, still cold, that's not right. Why can't someone leave the steamer plugged in to keep the rice warm? Who wants to eat soggy cold rice? The server was friendly, and the decoration was fine.

Had a starter (duck spring rolls and fried dumplings) and chefs recommendation (pork in orange sauce) so far this is the best food I have eaten whilst in Berlin. The owner was very friendly and talkative which made a funny and enjoyable evening. If I return to Berlin, I will definitely make the trip here. It's 3 stops from Alexanderplatz on the tram!

One of the few Chinese restaurants with a large and, above all, delicious vegan selection! The carved vegetables and presentation also add to the eye candy. We immediately feel at home here, a wonderfully relaxed atmosphere in a beautiful ambience. The recommendations from the bar are also great :)

I was looking for authentic cuisine and a special dish I wanted to try and I was not disappointed. The starter, main course and dessert were all extremely tasty. Everything was on the table quickly and fairly priced. The only thing that wasn't my cup of tea was the furnishings. The innkeeper has his own manners that do not correspond to the distant manner of many waitresses. I really enjoyed that! I was able to engage in conversation, learn more about the cuisine and dishes, and was perceived as a person and not just a customer. However, the landlord also made it clear how he experiences the catering industry and what bothers him. I gather from other reviews that some people don't appreciate this style. I found it honest and friendly. I was happy to tip generously and will be back.

I ordered 4 dumplings (6€50) and R2 (20€) which consists of a hotpot presented as a small stew with 10 small beef slices and about the same amount of vegetables. The taste was really satisfying but the size of the portions was just incredibly small. I left the restaurant starving and literally had another dinner as I arrived home. I'm not really the type to force myself on rice just to get full, even though I did finish a double portion of rice but I expected so much more vegetables (if not meat) in my main dish. Also my friend ordered a Tofu-mopo with beef (18€) and it was even smaller than my portion. We both were choked, that's not the standards of a usual Chinese restaurant in Berlin I terms of quantity. Then once again, it was tasting very good and authentic.

Surely a restaurant for non-chinese, poor portion and pricy price. None dishes felt authentically good but just below Berlin Chinese restaurant’s standard. We were very surprised by how little the portion of food were, it’s giving the vibe of “one-time business that we are doing here”.我们只做一回生意 I rarely write negative comment to the restaurant unless i was really unhappy.

Definitely one of the best dinners I have had ever! The beef meal was absolutely amazing. Also the waiter was very friendly and funny.

Five stars – A culinary highlight for lovers of intense taste! The beef stew with Sichuan pepper was a true sensory experience! The meat was incredibly tender and cooked to perfection, so much so that it literally melted in your mouth. The spicy broth was aromatic and deep in flavor without being too heavy. The Sichuan pepper was particularly impressive - it not only gave the dish a pleasant spiciness, but also provided that typical, slightly numbing tingling sensation on the tongue. Exactly how it should be! It was a mesmerizing dance of spiciness and freshness that lingered long after the meal. An absolute must for anyone who craves authentic cuisine and is not afraid of intense flavors. I will definitely be back and highly recommend this dish!

I’ve been to this restaurant a few times over the past two years and always enjoyed the food and the overall experience. In fact, I had previously given it a 5-star review. Unfortunately, my most recent visit was deeply disappointing and has left me questioning whether I would return. I went with my girlfriend, expecting the same great experience I’ve had in the past. The food itself was as good as I remembered, but the service and treatment we received were shocking. Here’s what happened: When the food was brought to our table, the dishes were placed in the center without any explanation. My girlfriend politely asked the waitress to confirm what one of the dishes was. Instead of answering the question directly, the waitress responded rudely, saying, "Did you forget what you ordered? You should know what you ordered. You get what you ordered." After we clarified the question again, she finally provided the name of the dish but in an unfriendly tone. Later, when the main waiter came by to check if anything was missing, my girlfriend mentioned the waitress’s rude behavior. His response? "She is the boss, and I won't tell her what to do." This lack of accountability was frustrating, but nothing compared to what happened next. After my girlfriend posted a 1-star Google review about her experience (while still sitting at our table), the male co-owner returned, loudly berating us in front of the entire restaurant. He essentially shouted, "If you post that review, eat up and get out. OUT. The waitress is not your slave." He then repeated that we needed to leave. My girlfriend stepped outside while I stayed to settle the bill. Even then, the waitress had the audacity to ask me if I had already paid, as if I were trying to leave without doing so. I understand that running a restaurant can be stressful and challenging, especially when it comes to managing feedback, but this reaction was completely inappropriate and unprofessional. While I’ve enjoyed this restaurant in the past, this experience has completely soured my opinion. I hope the owners take this feedback seriously and work on improving how they handle customer interactions. Until then, I cannot recommend this restaurant and will not be returning.

Fantastic food, really tasty and refreshingly different from the standard you're used to. I think that the cook puts a lot of effort into the preparation, the eye definitely eats here. The ambience is very classic, the service was very accommodating and polite. All in all, a wonderful culinary experience.

Amazing place, cosy for a nice dinner and amazing food. The food is really well seasoned and not too heavy really refined. Staff is really welcoming and trying to make the experience as good as possible. Also a lot of options for vegetarian and vegan.

It was the tastiest thing I've eaten in a long time. The eggplant was incredibly good! The sharpness was perfect because I'm a bit more sensitive. Had mapo tofu with minced meat and beef stew, cucumber salad and sweet and sour soup - all excellent.

Horrible experience in this restaurant. My friend who is deadly allergic to peanuts got served his meal full of peanuts (although he asked specifically if the meal included peanuts because he can literally die if he eats one). The guy working here didn’t seem to care and said that there isn’t peanuts. In fact, his meal arrives and there is peanuts. My friend kindly ask the guy to get a new one WITHOUT peanuts. Second meal, again, with peanuts. They probably didn’t cook a new one and just took out the peanuts but obviously they missed some!! The guy didn’t even apologized and just took the plate. He didn’t charged us for the plate, which is minimum to do! Not to add that I found a white powder on my napkin and scattered all over on the plate under the napkin….. worst service and the owner need to go fix his personal problems… unbelievable.

The food is really good. I had just a few starter today but will come back for more! Had some wan tan, dumplings, and dim sum. For real origin spiced food, this is a good place to go. If it says spicy at this place, it means Asian typ of spicy (dragon dance on your tongue) not european ahh a bit of spicy is OK I can stand it. The host was quite busy, but still in a good mood and was able to read my mind to have another coke before I was able to order one 😀 Will come back soon, for sure!

Since we spend a lot of time in Asia, we can get a very good idea of ​​the food, service and ambience. The boss of the whole thing badmouths his employees in front of the guests, so loudly that everyone can hear it. His words, I'm understaffed, the chef is alone and overwhelmed. You cannot have dessert, otherwise other guests will have to wait for their food. The staff, dressed inappropriately, ripped pants etc. Staff are already clearing the tables, even though you haven't finished eating and drinking yet. The presentation of the food is good, but that's about it. The taste cannot be compared at all to the food in Asia. Every food stall in Asia makes the food taste better. We can no longer process the positive reviews.

Authentic Chinese food, fresh, freshly prepared and very tasty! The meat melts in your mouth because it's so tender, regardless of the meat (we ordered chicken, beef and duck, all delicious!) Definitely the best Chinese restaurant I've ever eaten in, the food is of an amazing quality and the service is spectacular, the manager is very kind, very helpful and uniquely skilled. He was so disappointed that we had to wait half an hour that he offered us a glass of wine, which was also of a very high quality. If you are in Berlin I absolutely recommend going there, it is not just a meal but an experience. But make sure you book in advance.

They don't make it easy here. The fact that the place has two names: Chuan House and Wei House is stupid. Nothing works here without a reservation. There are no wine bottles either. Instead, only 0.2 liter glasses were poured - but unfortunately the pouring was poor, so we had to complain. The cuisine is OK, but my Szechuan beef is a very oily affair. We've been to China many times and things taste a little different there. But the portions are fair, the guests are full and don't necessarily need an appetizer. But with some wine and a shared starter and two main courses without tea or desserts, we ended up with 95 EUR - not exactly cheap.

WOW! What a hidden gem in Alexanderplatz. I have found Chinese/Asian style restaurants to be very hit and miss across Europe. But this is so FRESH, you won’t mind the wait for the courses! Even though there was a language barrier, I politely wrote down on my phone my order and they were happy to use this! Definitely a revisit next time I’m in Berlin. The prices cannot be missed aswell!

I am very sick and unfortunately sometimes I cannot control my bladder. I didn't choose it myself. I begged the gray-haired, half-bald old man to be allowed to go to the toilet but he said no. When I continued to beg and made him aware of my illness, he grabbed my arm, screamed at me and threw me out. where I then peed my pants in front of the door. How can you be so inhumane! This is bodily harm, the whole thing was recorded on video and will be reported!

The restaurant is a total work of art. The interior looks a bit like 8 delicacies, but gentlemen, the food is at the top of the premium league that Berlin has to offer when it comes to Asian cuisine. The eggplant is out of this world - the owner is incredibly friendly and is so happy when his guests enjoy the food. His cooking is good - his chef mixes the most important things himself and makes really great Sichuan food. Do not miss!

Update: Went back today again, 2 months after the last time. And the owner just got more rude. How he treat his customer, being so agitated all the time. The worse is how he treats the other waitress, how he called her “useless”. No more, not worth it Amazing food as usual, although the service can improve a bit. I understood it was a busy night but must admit it felt at some point uncomfortable with the waiter being agitated. I’ve been here before and the atmosphere was great but also it was not as crowded.

There are strict rules that were explained to us right away. There is no possibility of making a dish less spicy, for example, no change of any kind. When we then asked for soy sauce, which is not available, the waitress was personally offended. You don't feel like constantly arguing with the chef, but we were complained about all the time. It became very rude and the waitresses stood together and complained about us so loudly that we heard it. One meal was too spicy and one meal just didn't taste good. Overall, very unprofessional behavior, we will not visit the store again.

We went there twice for dinner during our Berlin vacation. Both times we were impressed not only by the delicious, authentic Chinese cuisine, but also by the very warm service! The caramelized eggplant in particular is highly recommended (even for die-hard meat eaters)!
