Very tasty food with self service

Unfortunately, there's hardly any parking. The price/performance ratio is good.

The price-performance ratio was okay for a self-service restaurant. Unfortunately, the staff were a bit unfriendly and snippy.

Almost the same prices as in the restaurant with conditions

I've never felt so bad after a meal. I had the currywurst with fries. The currywurst... I ate part of it because I was hungry; I couldn't finish it because of the taste. The fries were unsalted and soggy, and I didn't finish them either. After an hour, the stomach cramps started, and they lasted until the next morning. I took three panthobrazole tablets. I've never experienced anything like it. The service: one was friendly, the other grumpy.

A nice alternative to the many expensive restaurants in Duhnen. Also great for takeaway. We'll definitely be back on our next vacation.

Guests should be aware that Ebbe & Food is a fast-food restaurant. Therefore, service and ambiance should be expected to be rather pared down. We ordered two different fish platters there, picked them up, and ate them ourselves. The food was tasty and well worth the price.

The crab soup is not recommended. It tastes like a warmed-up, diluted Maggi cream soup with raw leeks and a couple of crabs. No slice of bread comes with it. It's better to remove it from the menu; it's a waste of the crabs.

Excellent food, very tasty, large portions, everything fresh and hot. Good value for money. The self-service restaurant is okay. We've been there several times and would gladly come back.

I had a fish platter, my wife had herring, traditionally cooked. Both dishes were delicious. I didn't even need my aioli, as the fish itself was delicious. The ambiance was okay for a self-service restaurant.

The food doesn't get any better; it's simply designed for quantity. Relatively cheap, but not particularly tasty.

It's self-service! Choose a table and a dish. A pager alerts you to pick up your food! There's fish with fried potatoes, Labskaus (a kind of sausage), and currywurst with fries. Something for every taste. Bottom line: A good, affordable alternative to expensive fish restaurants.

Service was rather irritating; I ordered two meals with mashed potatoes. One meal was served with mashed potatoes, the other with potatoes. They said the mashed potatoes were all gone. You have to pay for the food when you order, so you had no choice but to accept it.

A better canteen but the food is tasty and the prices are okay.

It gets busy from around 1 p.m., so eat outside of the usual hours, such as lunch before 1 p.m. or at 2:30 p.m., and you'll have plenty of space and a bit more peace and quiet. The food is good. Self-service.

First time eating at Christiansen's EBBE & FOOD. The food was ready within minutes 🤔!!!! Carelessly arranged on the plate. The wine wasn't finished...disgusting...smelly wine!!! The cashier was unfriendly and uncomprehending...hospitable!!!! The food service was unfriendly, e.g., they didn't wish us bon appétit. Probably guests not welcome 🤷🏼‍♀️ Once and never again‼️ I've been coming to Duhnen for 60 years.

I was at the restaurant once, but the rump steak was raw and uneatable. Otherwise, everything was good.

Delicious food and good service. Those with walking difficulties should approach from the "lakeside," otherwise they have to climb a flight of stairs, first down two steps, and then up three or four. Some highly effective people sat outside because it smelled strongly of food (fish) inside. Still, I recommend it.

I'd rather go to a restaurant and pay the extra one or two euros. The food is identical. Unfortunately, it's a mass-processing affair. There's no menu at the counter, and if you don't know, you'll be treated rudely. So, it's better to go to a restaurant and choose in peace.

The self-service was as expected, as evidenced by the appropriate labeling. The dishes were visually appealing, but closer inspection revealed a high fat content. While this might be acceptable for some guests, I found it disturbing. The staff was friendly, but their understanding of German seemed limited. The view overlooked an underground parking garage entrance. Nevertheless, the main issue for me was the high fat content, which detracted from the enjoyment of the food, so I ultimately left it alone.

I've eaten here several times. The price/performance ratio is okay. I'm only deducting a star because smoking isn't prohibited outside. However, it gets unpleasant when someone is smoking at the table next to you while you're still eating, or even when there are children around. It's a bit windier at the North Sea, and the smoke drifts in all directions. So it's up to the guests to refrain from smoking and smoke somewhere else after eating... At least that's my opinion...

On Saturday and today, it was supposed to be Labskaus... according to a small sign at the cash register... 3 varieties from... When asked by the cashier, they said: No ingredients were purchased. Maybe next week again...

We enjoyed the food very much. The fish was fresh and delicious, and the ambiance was quite modern and clean. The service was friendly and attentive. We found the value for money to be good, which, unfortunately, cannot be said of all restaurants in tourist areas.

My meal was okay, a fish platter with barely any fried potatoes, but otherwise good. But the children's plate with two industrial potato pancakes with ready-made apple sauce is borderline, even if it only costs 5 euros. I wouldn't come back tomorrow...

The daily lunch menu is varied and always tasty, and reasonably priced.

Good quality - as always and gladly again

We had the North Sea platter with redfish, Alaska pollock, Norwegian fjord salmon with rice and spinach, the "Nordic" fish platter, and the Hamburg fish platter. We always enjoy coming here because the ambiance is very nice, and you expect fair value for money from a self-service restaurant. Unfortunately, that's no longer the case. Portions are smaller and prices are more expensive. It's a shame that allergens aren't listed on the menu, as you often have to ask the non-German-speaking staff, if there is any. This can sometimes be a bit difficult. Otherwise, the wait time of about 15 minutes is okay. Otherwise, the food is perfectly fine; nothing particularly special is offered. There are no modern interpretations of the old classics, and unfortunately, it's hardly suitable for those with gluten or lactose intolerance. For us, the price/performance ratio is just not right anymore. Restrooms are in the basement. During our visit, everything was clean and tidy. I can't comment on the service, as it's self-service.

Today was the first time and unfortunately also the last time I was there. Canteen atmosphere, greasy tables, disinterested staff and the food tasted like it was from a low-budget canteen. While I was ordering/paying, I was able to look through a pane of glass into the kitchen. I saw an employee use her fingers to pick up a fried potato from a ready-made plate and eat it. Crazy - I had already made my coffee... PS: Our neighboring table only ate half... the rest was put in the cutlery/dish trolley provided. Unfortunately, that was nothing - absolutely nothing!!! For a North Sea restaurant, unfortunately, I cannot be recommended.

We really liked the self-service concept: everything was quick and easy - the food was delicious, especially the fried fish (no convenience food, not even the schnitzel) - something we no longer take for granted. Fair price-performance ratio. Thanks to the kitchen and the friendly service staff.

The self-service concept is a bit unusual, but the food is incredibly delicious. Prices are very fair. I'd definitely go back!

This was our first visit to Ebbe&Food, and we'll keep it that way. We think you'll find a better snack bar here. While the menu is well-balanced, at least our chosen dish bore no resemblance to the description on the menu. The chicken was cooked tough, the supposed tomato sauce was red water with a ketchup flavor, and it was greasy. The noise level is enormous. The prices were too high for this food, in our opinion.

Okay, price-performance ratio is right

We eat there regularly when we're in Cuxhaven. It's absolutely delicious, and the staff is very friendly.

Changing daily specials complement the menu. Very good quality, portion sizes more than adequate. Seniors' menus are also available. Prices are on the lower end.

A recommended alternative to the usual gastronomy. Very nice service. Price for the meal 1.50 to 2 € cheaper than in the Tohuus restaurant. The food is tasty and highly recommended in terms of price.

Very tasty dishes. Yesterday we had fish and today medallions and rump steak. The meat was very tasty and tender. Here attention is paid to the form of husbandry. Top! The prices for today, I would say, are cheap. Very nice staff and the restaurant was very clean. We say thank you 😘☘️

The Labskaus senior plate was very good but not very senorious. The plate is a size that is not served in normal restaurants. One senior trill feels like it is enough for two seniors 😉 But it was very tasty!

Every time we go to Cuxhaven we eat here. The food is always very tasty and fresh. The service is good and it's comfortable to sit inside or outside. Always my pleasure!

Whenever we are in Duhnen we eat here. We were there again last week and, as always, it was good and filling. The tomato soup beforehand always tastes good. We'll come back as always when we're here.

We were here by chance. SELF SERVICE. Order...pay......take drinks away and wait for food. It was very quick and really tasty. Clean restaurant and clean toilets. A place where you like to eat. Today we were here again for dinner. Labakaus. VERY GOOD. If we are back here in Duhnen we will definitely come back. Highly recommended.

Hello, we haven't eaten so badly in a long time. Everything was very greasy and the fish was fried. For €15.40 we had two small pieces of fried fish; After removing the breading, all that was left was a snack. There were also 3 small, fatty Röstis and a quarter of a tomato on a small lettuce leaf. CONCLUSION: Price/performance doesn't fit here at all. .... never again; the ambience was OK; So suitable for a drink, but not for eating!

Directly at the Duhner Brunnen self-service restaurant, the price is okay, only the cleanliness of the tables and floors could be better

So we've been coming to Cuxhaven for about 20 years and visiting the SB Ebbe and Food. Definitely part of it. Back then it was called something different but the lady at the checkout was already there. The food is always superfund a must especially for fish eaters. Nowhere else is there such a price-performance ratio, perhaps an exception. And we've been looking at the gastronomy here for 20 years! Meat fans will also get their money's worth. Not recommended for vegetarians and vegans. Definitely worth a visit for everyone else! The view from the upper floor is also great. And as I said, great price-performance ratio.

At first it was a bit confusing and it wasn't immediately clear how the exact self-service process worked, but a very friendly employee explained everything when asked. The food was delicious and the portion was sufficient. The atmosphere is similar to a canteen, but everything is clean and still inviting. Definitely a good opportunity to eat well on your next visit to Cuxhaven. The only thing that was a bit irritating was that credit card payments weren't possible.

There is Ebbe and food and another à la carte restaurant right next door. At Ebbe & food you have to get everything yourself. The kitchen is the same. The food is very tasty, we have never been disappointed.

Great alternative to overpriced restaurants with waiters. Clear menu, quick ordering, prompt delivery of the food. Had two starter soups and then two main courses, everything hot in the terrine and on the plate. (I thought if you ordered soup and a dish at once you would get everything together later, but that was far from the case, first soup then 10 minutes later main courses.) All in all I can only recommend, the price is right, the food is right and a bad waiter Waiting for a tip also saves money. At some times you have to be patient to get a seat, but that can also happen in a restaurant.

We had a very great experience with Ebbe & Food! Very tasty food, great selection, very friendly staff and a nice location. We ate the grilled chicken breast and the councilman's plate, which we can highly recommend.

Very good for a self-service restaurant. The prices are moderate for a health resort. The Krappensuppe is highly recommended...unfortunately the staff couldn't get the recipe out of it.

Yesterday we had dinner here with 8 people. Ok for a self-service fast food restaurant. Ambience ok, service (cashier friendly and nice. We sat outside on the upper floor, unfortunately tables were only for 2 people due to the size of the balcony but it was ok. Large selection of food from schnitzel to fish.

Got a very tasty fish plate. Despite the tables being full, the staff were experienced and courteous. Visited again after a year. Now self-service, which is completely ok for us. The fish plate is still tasty and freshly prepared.

Everything is ok, as you are used to from earlier times. We were last here in 2020 and the years before that.

SB restaurant is cheap, unfortunately difficult to access with a wheelchair

We have been eating here every time we visit Duhnen for years. We were never disappointed 😞...except yesterday. We had the fish platter, 3 types of fish with asparagus and fried potatoes, from the lunch menu. The food was subpar. The fish smelled pungent from the plate. The taste was absolutely impossible. The asparagus was cheap canned asparagus. Everything was drowned in gravy. We hardly touched the fish at all and let it go back completely. Whether we eat here again is anyone's guess

Good, varied selection of food. The quality and taste are acceptable. The service, as far as you can talk about it in a self-service restaurant/snack bar, doesn't really work. My order, two different dishes, were ready to be picked up at the counter at different times, so starting the meal together didn't work. The entire process, from ordering to serving the food, is more reminiscent of mass processing designed for quick throughput than what I imagine when I want to go out to eat. You can give yourself, but you don't have to.

Viennese style schnitzel made from molded meat! I ordered a schnitzel there yesterday. The food came quite quickly. But that was it. What is sold here is not a schnitzel, which is cut from the piece of meat and usually pounded before frying. The schnitzel is made from molded meat. Wiki: To produce them, the chunks of meat are first tumbled, i.e. milled by machine, which loosens the bond between the muscle fibers, causes muscle abrasion and protein comes out on the surface. This can be helped by adding salt or curing salt and enzymes such as transglutaminase. After tumbling, the mass is pressed into molds and either frozen or heated so that the released protein coagulates and binds the chunks into one piece. Depending on the intended use, spices and flavorings are added or the formed parts are breaded. Result: The schnitzel is extremely dry. And, who knows what will be thrown in there!? The price of €15 is far too high for self-service and shaped meat. For me that was it. I'm not going there anymore. G.S

As always, we ate here when visiting Duhnen and also twice this year at Ebbe & Food. The quality of the food is good and the portions are, in my opinion, perfectly fine. The price-performance ratio is right. It is a self-service restaurant and is only barrier-free in the lower area. The cashier and the lady at the food counter were friendly. I can recommend it here if you want to eat quickly and easily and can accept the compromise of self-service.
