The fried fish was solid and fresh. But it took a really long time, even though it wasn't that busy. The price was reasonable for the place.

We spontaneously ate two fish sandwiches here. They weren't bad, but they were quite expensive. They could have been topped with a little more love. All in all, though, they were good 👍🏻

It was lovely to watch the hustle and bustle of the street while eating. A plus point for the interior was that it was really lovingly decorated.

We had a veggie burger and a potato waffle. The burger might have been worth four stars, but the waffle was noticeably cold and rather chewy. It tasted OK with the vegetables, but it wasn't a hit. And certainly not OK after waiting over half an hour. It wasn't like there were many people ahead of us; it just took an incredibly long time.

The food and drinks were good. Service was friendly. Pleasant noise level in the dining area. The only drawback for me is that I don't like the fact that people are allowed to smoke in the counter area when picking up takeout food!

Very good food. Tried it thanks to a recommendation from our neighbors. Even when my husband, being English, ordered fish and chips (I thought it was fried fish [in Endland] and fries) and only got "fish nuggets," they replaced it. It's the best, next to Liverpool Fish and Chips. We've been here several times. Top-notch. Service very friendly and accommodating. ❤️😘

There's no service because it's self-service. You only get a receipt with reluctance. And you're promptly charged for things you didn't even want. They make excuses for it because you're alone. The food was okay but greasy. And it's not wheelchair accessible because the entrance has a step and another entrance was closed. The staff also said that's not welcome. Never again.

We were at Blauths in Duhnen today. For me, as a wheelchair user, it was difficult to get up the step. Until last year there was an entrance on the side without steps, but this is now closed and built over. Then, only after asking several times did my husband get a receipt which stated that there was more than we had ordered and we should pay because it was our fault for ordering the wrong thing. We also ordered fried fish without remularde and got it with remularde. When we complained, the waitress said what could she do, she was alone - that's no excuse. All in all, a disappointing evening and I wouldn't recommend going again.

We got fries to go, and they were absolutely delicious! A generous portion, well-seasoned, and crispy. The price was reasonable considering the current price.

Our meals weren't ready at the same time, and I had to wait about 10 minutes before I could get my plaice. Other guests reported missing orders. The service staff seemed stressed and frustrated with their own colleagues. My meal (plaice) was of mixed quality. The fried potatoes were very good. So was the tartar sauce. The plaice itself was mediocre. Unfortunately, the numerous bones spoiled the fun for the rest of the meal, but to be honest, due to the asynchronous service, there wasn't much left anyway. My friend really enjoyed her meal (fried fish). Special requests (fries instead of fried potatoes) were accommodated. The ambiance was otherwise perfectly fine.

I've rarely eaten such a bad meal. The salad was swimming in dressing, the baked potato had to be cut out of its skin, and the generously coated white mush tasted like mayonnaise. The lady at the counter couldn't mix a Limoncello Spritz. In retrospect, it turned out she only had a rough idea of ​​how to make Aperol. What a shame! Perhaps it would be better to have less on the menu, but do it properly.

Well, it wasn't that great. The fried potatoes weren't really fried potatoes, they were just burnt potatoes. You have to be able to make fried potatoes, but they apparently can't. The remoulade sauce wasn't particularly good either: sour and slightly fermented – as if it had been made with sparkling water. Conclusion: Not again.

We went to Blauths in Sahlenburg last year. It wasn't cheap, but the food was excellent, and the ambiance and service were also very good. We were looking forward to our visit to Duhnen, but unfortunately, we regretted it. The ordering process was chaotic (and not just for us), the wait was long, and the food was over-fried. Charging €17.90 for this fish and chips is outrageous. There are much better alternatives.

A great restaurant for anyone who loves fish! The fish was incredibly fresh and perfectly prepared—crispy on the outside, tender and juicy on the inside. I particularly enjoyed the delicious side dishes, which perfectly rounded off the meal. The service was attentive and friendly, and the atmosphere was very pleasant. A real highlight that we'll definitely visit again soon!

The food was very greasy and salty, and guests were allowed to smoke in the restaurant. The kibbeling looked and tasted triple-fried. The fries were also incredibly salty. The comparatively lower price was offset by a stomachache.

We ate here on a Friday. The whole of Duhnen was very busy that evening, and luckily we managed to get a table. We sat there for a while and perused the fancy menu. When no one came to our table, we asked the next table. Here, you order at the counter, get your drinks, and a beeper that announces when the food is ready. You then pick it up yourself. The food was really very good. I had kibbelinge with thick but crispy fries. Truly delicious and fairly priced. You don't stay here for an espresso afterward, and the beeping of the beepers doesn't add to the ambience. Still, 5 stars because overall everything was excellent. However, I would have liked to have seen a brief notice on the tables (or just somewhere) about the ordering process.

Blauths is a hybrid of a restaurant and a snack bar. There's a counter where you can buy fish sandwiches. Table service is also available in the covered outdoor area. Here, you can order delicious fish platters or a grilled dish, which we tried. The service was quick and very courteous.

We've been here many times. We're usually always satisfied. But unfortunately, this time, with a herring roll, there were several bones in the fish. It's a real shame. We waited in line for 15 minutes and then unfortunately received a substandard product.

We were there two years ago and again this year (several times a week). Great atmosphere! Very friendly and fast! They serve affordable crab sandwiches, stuffed to the brim with crab! Everything else on the menu is also excellent! Good quality and very tasty! We'd be happy to come back!

We were looking for a place that served fish dishes and found Blauths - Streetfood & Meer. The wait was a maximum of 10 minutes, and the staff was very friendly. The seating was comfortable; the benches were decorated with cushions and furs. The food was delicious. We opted for the coastal platter with fried potatoes, remoulade, herring, salmon, North Sea crab, and scrambled eggs. We would order again.

My wife had the fish platter. The selection was okay, but we didn't expect the quality for the price. It was too expensive for what was on the platter. I had the large fried fish, which looked good and was plentiful. But the fish felt heavy on my stomach later on. Whether it was the fat from the frying... I have no idea. My stomach isn't usually that sensitive, but it really gave me something to think about later.

This is self-service. The food was very good and tasty, and the portions were generous. The atmosphere was cozy, although it might be too cold in rainy and cooler temperatures. The service when ordering was friendly and flexible when it came to changes. If the weather holds, we'll be back. We've been to Duhnen again and come here almost every day. That speaks for itself! Even when it's cooler, you're sitting sheltered from the wind. The fish dishes are still very good. We'd love to come back!

Seit der Neueröffnung sind wir bei Blauths in Sahlenburg Stammgäste, weil das Essen dort super lecker ist und wir immer super freundlich bedient werden.! Und sehr schönes Ambiente!☀️

Wir saßen wunderschön direkt am Fenster und konnten den Sonnenuntergang über dem Watt beobachten. Das Essen (Pulled Lachs Burger und Scholle Finkenwerder Art) war richtig lecker.

You may or may not like the self-pickup concept at the bar. The 0.5-liter beer, which was clearly below the gauge after foaming, was definitely not. That's okay when the place is packed, but not when it's barely half full. The fried fish sandwich was good (significantly more fish than breading—that's how it should be). The pulled salmon burger was great, really tasty. I'd go again. Edit: The glass was full the second time. The potato waffle with pollock fillet was also really good.

Unfortunately very inflexible, the taste is rather lower midfield!!!

We were really looking forward to Blauth after we enjoyed eating there in 2023. Unfortunately we weren't satisfied this year - the kibbeling in the sea bag were dripping with fat, the fried potatoes were not fried but cooked & the pulled salmon burger was so spicy that you had to drink a lot and the bread/rolls were too hard to cut and too unstable to bite into. Unfortunately, some food/drinks were also sold out. We think the ambience is great, as is the location and service is virtually non-existent since it is a self-service restaurant.

It's difficult to evaluate service in a self-service restaurant... We were there shortly before closing time in the evening and were warmly welcomed at the counter... like you call into the forest... everything was good😃

We were there as a family! And had rump steak, fish platter, Ordered panfish and a whole plaice. It was soooo delicious. The chef was super hardworking and came to our table to ask how we liked it. Everything was finished to perfection and presented so well. I can only recommend it. Really great!!!!

Die meisten gerichte sind gut bürgerlich und kann man definitiv weiter empfehlen. Leider gibt es jetzt im jahr 2025 nach der bestellung einen kassenautomaten wo ich selber die scheine einschieben muss und kurze Zeit später wieder unten das Rückgeld wieder ausgeworfen. Begründet wird diese Maschine die meiner meinung nach ,viel zu hoch hängt ,für ältere und kleine Menschen mit der Hygiene. Für mich ist es ein weiterer Schritt um noch weniger Kunden Kontakt haben zu müssen. Was kommt als nächstes muss ich mir mein Essen dann persönlich in der Küche abholen ?

For me it's just a further reduction in service there. In addition, this machine is far too high for older and smaller people. What will happen in 2026? As a paying guest, will I have to get my own food from the kitchen or even fry my fish myself?

Fish sandwich ok. Nothing special, except what is special is the price if you choose tartar sauce or aioli with the fish roll, which costs 1€ (!!!) extra. This blob is way too expensive/excessive and should e.g. B. be included in the fish roll price.

Give it another chance and test it but it just remains bad. Service is not in the mood, fries are almost raw. More appearance than reality.

No thanks! Self-service! The prices are ridiculous for what's on offer. For example, fish & chips for €12.90, for which you have to wait 25 minutes in March 2025, with less than 50 percent table occupancy. Tables covered in crumbs, some not cleared. Cutlery and napkins only available upon repeated request. Ready meals are called out and taken away by other guests who ordered later. Chaotic conditions in the off-season. It makes you wonder what to expect there in the summer. Duhnen isn't necessarily more expensive than other places on the North Sea. It's just that a few restaurants are overdoing it, and this one is unfortunately one of them.

Food is good, ambience is nice too, only the fries were too salty for me. It's a shame there were no fried potatoes. We'd love to come back.

In my opinion, the food wasn't that tasty. In my opinion, the size of the portions were more generous elsewhere. Since I didn't like it anyway, it was all the better that the portions were small😉. Like I said, that's just my feeling. I had to pay extra for the tartar sauce. This was included with other providers.

The burgers are really good and the sweet potato fries are really well fried. Price-performance for the food is okay and the coastal surcharge is normal for the drinks.

Ambience was super good. & cozy. The food was very tasty and the lady was super nice! Unfortunately, what we really have to complain about is the cocktail. It comes out of the can (in the store for 2.99) and is then sold there for 7.90. Totally bare with no decoration! Very painful for 2 bartenders!

I should have read the reviews before visiting. From the outside you think it's nice to sit here and eat your fish sandwich. Inside it's a better food stall, not overly clean, the staff could hide their listlessness a little more. The rolls in which the fish is served are cheap baked rolls from the discounter, if only they had been crispy...why not offer crispy rolls from the bakery across the street, then the fish roll would at least be upgraded a little. The price-performance ratio is not right here at all, the fried fish portion is a joke for the price. To eat really delicious fish sandwiches with crispy mussel-shaped rolls, it's better to go a few steps further to the village square, unfortunately they were closed from January 3rd. Winter break, hence the test here, but that must have been an absolute exception, once and never again, then I would rather forego the last fish sandwich on vacation.

With the rush in the New Year, the staff is of course overwhelmed, even in a self-service restaurant with only 2 people. The shelves for dishes and empties were overflowing and the cleanliness of the tables left a lot to be desired. Fish rolls with fried fish i. O. but without taste, no possibility to add salt. The mulled wine was 'overcooked' and also charged for 'with shot', even though it was ordered and served 'without'. So no recommendation😐

We only ordered drinks...the glasses were "soiled"....plus the mulled wine wasn't worth 4.50...totally lackluster service...the counter was empty, but totally dirty... ..

Here you can take a long break, have a cold drink and eat something.

It couldn't be worse, a long wait at the checkout, further waiting until the food can be picked up and then the sea bag, bad. Only breading, hardly any fish but a huge amount of remulade. That's it for 11.90

The fish was good and the fries were tasty. Nice atmosphere but a bit cold in winter.

Good morning, We went to Blauths again today. We ordered a baked fish roll for €6.50 and a chilli cheeseburger with mayo fries for €16.40. The preparation took quite a long time. The fried fish roll was much smaller than usual and it looked like a cheap baked roll with frozen discount fish, which was also extremely greasy and the breading tasted burnt. When it comes to the chili cheeseburger, the extremely small amount of fries for €4 is an absolute disgrace. The burger patty was completely tasteless, dead fried, dry and only lukewarm, so that not even the cheese was melted. In addition, the salad garnish appeared to have come straight from the refrigerator. I think it was the cucumber slices that were pickled quite strangely and didn't taste like the rest at all. The burger sauce looked good visually, but was pretty tasteless. The only flavor kick came from the few jalapeno slices. Unfortunately, I have to say that the tastiest thing about the whole meal was the mayonnaise. We will eat somewhere else in the future when we are in Duhnen again.

We were there today at 1:15 p.m. and wanted 2* fried fish and the homemade meatball to take away. They said it would take 5-8 minutes. After ordering, we waited 45 minutes when I asked politely. Where the things I had already paid for were left, I would be confronted by the employee, which would still take some time. When I then said that I had been waiting for 45 minutes, the counter was simply closed. After another 10 minutes, the fried fish and the fish cakes arrived, unfortunately without the remoulade that I had ordered and paid for, which I saw at home. The fish cakes were also charred and the fried fish had no taste. The people who ordered after us got their money back and left hungry. I have never had such unfriendly service Experienced, service is a foreign word here. Sorry, but that doesn't work at all! Here even one star is too many!

Ordering your food at 1:55 p.m. and still not getting any food at 2:30 p.m. is more than bad - we weren't the ones who moved in today because that happened.

Ambience nice for a better snack. But the food was nothing. Unfortunately, the vegan potato waffles themselves don't taste like anything, the pesto was missing, but there was a lot of salsa on it - too much. The vegan burger was dry and lacked the paprika relish. The no meat patty is more of a potato pancake.

We went on vacation to Cuxhaven in September. From the outside, the restaurant in Duhnen looked inviting and not too upscale. Not only did I have to order and pick up the food myself at the counter, I also had to look for the cutlery at the tables myself. The food was a complete disaster. The fried fish had been fried in an unseasoned flour paste, filled with fish leftovers that were also unseasoned. The fries were very over-seasoned and totally over-salted. The arrangement of the food on the plate was careless, there wasn't even a lettuce leaf, a slice of tomato, let alone a piece of lemon. Of course we also had to go to the counter and pay the completely overpriced price for this bad food. And to make matters worse, my mother, totally hungry, went to the bakery opposite to get a sandwich, but unfortunately she developed intestinal problems and had to use the toilet. Things got even worse for me. On the way to the holiday apartment on foot I developed intestinal problems and had to relieve myself in a bush, willy-nilly. Absolutely not recommended. Shame about the money. It is completely clear to us that our opinion will not hurt you because you do not value regular customers but apparently only rely on day tourists

Unfriendly, listless (no interest mentality) staff

A year ago we were there every day and got the fried fish in a roll. It was really tasty, the fish looked big on both sides of the roll. It was hard to find anything comparable. This year, in the summer and these days too. What we got there was ridiculous. The fish disappeared under a pile of tartar sauce in the bun. That was just a little "baked fish", but charging €7.50 for it is awesome. Not recommended anymore, unfortunately.

Nice fish snack bar with covered and heated seating. The fish dishes are simple but rich. The fish sandwiches are well topped and very tasty.

Be prepared for long waiting times

Bought 2 fried fish rolls to take away today. When we arrived in the motorhome we wanted to eat before our journey home. The rolls are almost still white and the breading of the fried fish is not done either. Way too much tartar sauce and just plain limp. And then wait another 15 minutes. What was also noticeable was the lack of cleanliness. Totally dusty glass counter. Not again for 7.50 each.

Best crab roll ever! The fish was fresh, there was always a place available for us and both the hot and cold food was very delicious!

The ambience seemed quite good at first glance. We sat outside. The table was dirty and you essentially ate between the squishy fries from the previous guests. You had to collect the cutlery from different tables. Here I had to sort out four knives until I had one that was reasonably clean. Napkins were not available for all of us. There were still leftover food from the previous person on the beer glass. I'm not usually very sensitive, but this certainly wasn't okay. You had to order at the order counter. You had to wait a long time here because there was no staff there. Some of the cards weren't there (e.g. the Kiddie Box). The waiting time for the food was also quite long. What should be mentioned positively, however, is that the food was ultimately freshly prepared and very tasty. All in all, I give it a total of three stars and only a conditional recommendation.

So the ambience is nice but unfortunately that's it... We ordered the squid... could have been fried bicycle tire... it didn't taste like anything and the tastiest thing was actually the water... It's a shame 🤷🏽‍♀️ Absolutely overpriced for such an experience.

Yeah, it's okay. I would say "takeaway at restaurant prices" describes it best. I wouldn't describe the store as dirty, but I did notice the light layer of dust on the counter. Both the baked potatoes and the portion of fish & chips were around €13. I also found it a bit unpleasant that customers in front of me were told almost 2 hours before closing time that they could no longer offer currywurst (no more sauce in the house) without mentioning any alternative. What struck me positively was that the ToGo containers are made of cardboard instead of Styrofoam and have a removable lid. All in all, the preparation was quick (from paying to leaving in less than 15 minutes) and the food was tasty. So you can't do anything wrong here, but it's not a highlight either.

Very tasty food (and large portions), lots of choice, nice service staff and a beautiful outdoor terrace. We enjoyed eating here several times during our stay. :-)
