Chicago Steakhouse Berlin in Berlin

We had made a reservation through The Fork and arrived at the restaurant on time, full of positive expectations. Upon entering, we immediately informed the front desk that we had reserved through The Fork and were shown to our seats. Two minutes later, the same receptionist approached us and announced that the restaurant was no longer working with The Fork. Why wasn't this communicated to the front desk beforehand? This suggests that this is a scam to lure customers to the restaurant under false pretenses. The quality and preparation of the food were also poor. In particular, the steaks were tough and overcooked, making them taste rubbery. The only tasty dish was the baby calamari, but it was also too fatty and dripping oil. The salad was missing lettuce leaves and tasted of nothing. The service was attentive, but a bit pushy, and guests felt rushed. Nevertheless, they received a good tip. We definitely won't be back and wouldn't recommend the restaurant.

US stake was nice but Brazilian stake not to my expectation dry and chewy , Service was nice. Kind waiters.

Overall a medium experience. The Ambient was quite elegant. The Service was very friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, the food did way too long to arrive, but it was still delicious then.

We ordered just two steaks and fries. It's hard to believe, but it took them one hour and twenty minutes! That's the craziest wait we've ever had. After about an hour, we asked to talk to the manager to find out why it was taking so long. The manager said he would take care of it himself, but it still took another twenty minutes. We only got our food at 9:44 PM after we told the waiter we would leave at 9:45 PM if we didn't get it. They gave us two free beers and two espressos because of the wait. This made us feel a little better, but still... When we got the bill, there were many mistakes and things we didn't order. We had to fix the bill three times before it was correct. So, the place looks great, but the service was really bad. The food tasted very good, but waiting so long and the mistakes on the bill were not good. While we were there, we saw waiters walking around with food, trying to find who ordered it. Someone really needs to manage this place better. We also talked to the manager, and he doesn't speak English at all. For a place with many tourists, this doesn't make sense. So, this place has a lot of potential, but they need to improve.

This is our second time here and we have to say that we had to wait more than 1 hour for our starters. Our waiter was attentive and tried to calm us down, but that didn't make our experience any better because of the long waiting times

Good and nice restaurant you could eat even on busy Saturday evening and friendly staff

This steakhouse is located next to the Wittenbergplatz underground station, surrounded by the KaDeWe department store, and it is bustling with people. It’s curious to see a steakhouse named after an American city in Germany. The steak meat in the store mainly comes from two countries, the lower-priced Argentinian beef and the higher-priced American beef. This time I ordered Argentinian fillet steak. There are only 100g and 300g on the menu. I originally chose 100g, but the waiter suggested that I order 200g, which seemed more generous. The medium-rare filet mignon is well-cooked, tender and smooth, and paired with Burgundy wide-area red wine, it is moist and delicious. It is also worth mentioning that the service was friendly and the sommelier was professional, which I was satisfied with. 2022 Louis Latour Bourgogne Pinot Noir, Burgundy, France Although this famous Burgundy wine is only a wide-area Pinot Noir red wine, it has an elegant dark rose aroma and a mellow and tight taste. It can be paired with medium-rare filet mignon, which is moist and delicious.

We’ve been here tonight, nice atmosphere, very great and friendly service and an absolutely amazing meat, high quality, tasty and tender! Happy to find this place and we will be definitely back soon!

Ich war in einer Woche gleich zwei mal hier. Das erste Mal war es klasse. Eine Servicekraft, die sich Zeit genommen hat die Steaks zu erklären Gemeinsam haben wir das perfekte Stück Fleisch für mich gefunden und es war wirklich klasse. Ganz besonders möchte ich die Sauce Bernaise hervorheben – lange nicht eine so leckere gehabt. Auch preislich war alles im Rahmen… wohl wissend, das Steinhäuser gerade aktuell nicht wirklich günstig sind… aus gründen. Genötigt durch einen Kunden (oh wie unangenehm) war ich dann drei Tage später noch einmal dort. Leider hat sich dabei herausgestellt, dass die Leistung der Küche nicht konstant ist. Das gleiche Steak war dann flach wie Carpaccio und die Fleischqualität war auch nicht so toll. Von der Garstufe ganz zu schweigen. Nur dieses Mal hatte ich im Service keinen Kollegen vom Fach. Hemdsärmelig und sehr nett, aber leider ahnungslos. Aber das schlimmste war, dass Kritik nicht gestattet wurde. Zum Glück hat sich die Restaurantmanagerin meines Problems angenommen und mit gekonnter Eleganz alles gerettet. Das neue Steak war dann wieder auf dem Niveau von letzten Mal… nun ja, fast. Die Küche wollte mich schnell bedienen und hat mir das Steak bleu geliefert. Das ist bei einem Entrecôte natürlich schwierig, weil das Fettauge gerne 50°C haben will. Aber wer misst schon nach… Aber die Sauce Bernaise ist einfach genial!

Amazing steak house very good meat 🥩 a bit on the expensive side though

We had high expectations for this restaurant and ordered steaks with broccoli (wild broccoli). My steak was excellent, but my friend, who has a walnut allergy, suddenly noticed difficulty breathing. To our shock, we discovered that walnuts had either been sprinkled over the broccoli or incorporated into the sauce - without any mention of it on the menu. We immediately called the waiter over and asked for the ingredients. It took a few minutes until our request was understood. Finally, the chef came to our table and explained that the walnuts were "just decoration." We found this reaction shockingly indifferent, especially given the potential health risk. The only solution we were offered was to re-serve the broccoli without walnuts. Given the high price and expectations of a restaurant of this class, we would have expected a much more professional and responsible response. For allergy sufferers, this negligence poses a serious danger - we therefore recommend being extremely careful when ordering.

Place under the hotel where I was staying but the first time I came I didn't really take it into consideration but the second time I returned to the same hotel I went, so much so that, after having had an excellent experience the first evening, I went back for the second time alone. Truly satisfying. The quality of the meat is excellent, perfectly cooked and tender on the palate. Very professional and friendly staff. I will definitely be back, prices are right for the quality of the meat

Four of us had dinner there last night. Unfortunately the kitchen was completely overwhelmed, we got the steaks we ordered, but all the side dishes were missing. They came about 20 minutes later, by which time we had already eaten the steaks, very annoying. Answer: we are full. Great excuse. The meat was good, the red wine was great and our waiter (Jeb...possibly spelled differently) was great and tried to save the situation. At least yesterday, price and service didn't match.

We arrived to the restaurand a party of 7. We ordered a table in advance and hoped for the best. I can say that not only did the restaurand meet our expectations, it by far surpassed them. The first thing I noticed upon entering, was the fridge with all the prime cuts in it. What later happened was that our surver brought to the table a selection of vacume-packed prime cuts for us to choose from. I must say that I love the concept very much, since this way you can check the aging and marbeling of your cut, out of the selection, to your preferance, and choose the weight best fitting your needs. The service was impeccable and super professional with a smile - thank you for that. The food was soooo good. Really. We took the "Festival Mix" of starters which was very diverse and delicious followed by our selection of cuts made to our desired temprature. We had the Tomahawk, Porterhouse and T-Bone to share for 6, while 1 of our party ordered an Argentinian Fillet Steak for himself. We ended up sharing everything (around 3.6kg) and it was really good - I know I said it already, but it was😅 . After all the food and beer we ended up paying around 150€ per person- while it might be on the expensive side, the entire experiance was well worth it in my opinion. I added some pictures as well. If you do decide to go, younwill not regret it.

If you like meat without nerves, fat, and very tender, be sure to come.

This is supposedly as good as it gets when it comes to a steakhouse in Berlin. While all right, it just shows how much room Berlin still has to develop on the culinary scene. Anyone of the top 20 steakhouses in Rome, Florence, Madrid, London, not to mention in most of the larger cities in the US and south American capitals beats the offer and quality hands down. The steaks were Ok, however, they didn’t match the prices, therefore, poor value for money. The atmosphere was sort of modern steakhouse and the service was good.

This is a very nice place if you are considering spending a higher budget. The hummus and the bread were fantastic and the meat was great as well. Nice ambience and live music at night, good service but sometimes a little bit slow. Great cocktails. I went with The Fork reservation which gave us 50% discount.

Service was top, food experience overall good, but could be improved. Thanks to TheFork registration we had 50%, which is not negligible for the overall experience. Tried 3 steaks, we couldn't really identify any difference between Argentine fillet and US fillet despite advice. Unfortunately there was a smell of eggs in the bar area… 3 steaks, 2 salads and mushroom side dish 140 euros (instead of 280 euros)

A great ambience that is only surpassed by the outstanding meat. The beautiful terrace with a view of Wittenbergplatz and the KaDeWe deserves special mention.

I'm a bit late writing this review.We celebrated my son's 16th birthday here while on a trip from the UK in 2022. It was a fantastic experience, the food was exceptional but the service as the best we have ever received. Our waiter ( I don't recall his name but remember he was a student of economics at University in Berlin) made our night. The other staff were also fabulous, it was well worth the price and a visit with will be the highlight of any trip you make to Berlin. Thank you for such a wonderful evening.

Excelente en todos los aspectos! El personal era muy amable y feliz, fue un placer tratar con todos ellos. También explicaron en detalle cómo funciona el menú, etc. La comida era fuera de este mundo, simplemente espectacular. Las entradas eran fantásticas (calamares y vieiras bebé). El plato principal que tuve fue 300 g de filete mignon. Era tan tierno, que el cuchillo se cortó en la carne sin usar ninguna fuerza. Probablemente el mejor filete que he tomado, y he tenido toneladas. La porción de 300 g también fue masiva, o la mayoría de los restaurantes sirven la mitad del tamaño de los filetes que pides, o este restaurante sirve el doble del tamaño de los filetes que pides, porque el filete era el doble del tamaño de tu filete mignon estándar de 300 g en la mayoría de los restaurantes. El lugar también está diseñado muy bien, como que da un ambiente de restaurante de lujo de Los Ángeles con decoración de techo, etc. Sin duda recomendaría!

Restaurant tries to have review deleted using legal means! But not with me as a journalist! Here we go again: What a failure! Felt like an absolute tourist trap for us! Location next to the KaDeWe is great, but service AND food for this price and standard are absolutely subpar with our food! Our steaks appeared to have been cooked on a dirty grill, leaving a burnt crust that smelled of old fat attached to the meat. Our first fillet steak was completely cooked through, despite the fact that we ordered it extra medium. A sin for such a good piece of meat. To avoid tasting the burnt crust of old fat, the chef apparently thought he could cover it up with excessive amounts of salt. Unfortunately, it not only tasted like old fat, but also incredibly salty! Of course I immediately complained (I absolutely can't see why at such a good price!) and the second one came half raw, so raw that the meat inside was actually ice cold! We didn't want to wait that long again so I had to eat it. The waiter didn't care about complaints! No offer to reduce the bill, just a standard espresso (unfortunately I don't drink coffee). Therefore we will definitely never go here again, as there are many other really good steakhouses! P.S.: Greetings to the law firm: Visit can be documented and verified by credit card debit! Any further attempt to intimidate an honest customer with legal means will be responded to accordingly with legal and media means! Let's see who is right in the end!

Centrally located steakhouse on Wittenbergplatz. The food was very tasty - but the burger was a bit dry. Nothing can be said against the ambience and service. There is another star deduction in the overall rating due to the rather outrageously high prices (if you're not hungry it's around €40, with a normal hubger it's around €50 per person including a drink). There are restaurants of equal quality with lower prices in the area.

Ordered Entrecôte for everyone of group of 6. Everyone wanted it medium rare, but two people had it fully cooked. For everyone to join meal stayed quiet as it would take another 40 minutes to have a steak. Steaks from French Lidl are more interesting (personal opinion)😅

For me the best steakhouse in Berlin. Great ambience and super friendly service. The quality of the various meat products is very good and also perfectly prepared. Unfortunately it is closed on Sundays, otherwise we would have taken another look during our visit to Berlin. We recommend.

We arrived for dinner around 6:30pm and were greeted with a delicious cup of corn chowder while they cleared a table for us. Our waiter, Nelly, was very friendly and brought us our drinks quickly. The Mac &Cheese, ribs, salads and sandwiches were all delicious! Started to get crowded around 7:30pm but we were never rushed and enjoyed drinks after dinner as well. Will return! The steakhouse at Wittenbergplatz impresses with its modern ambience and friendly staff. Unfortunately, the price-performance ratio leaves a lot to be desired. The prices for steaks seem excessive without providing the corresponding quality. My steak was acceptable, but grilled a little too long. The included extremely hot paprika chili peppers were an unpleasant surprise and could have been communicated better. Additional costs for side dishes like a baked potato and gravy seem disproportionate. At these prices you would expect outstanding quality, which unfortunately was not met. Suggestions for improvement such as revising supplement prices or adding inclusive supplements could significantly improve the experience. Hopefully, such points will be taken into account in the future to provide a completely satisfying dining experience.

We came as a group of 7 to have dinner, the service was great, super friendly and professional. The selection of drinks was great although not much of a drinker would be nice to have more none alcoholic mocktails on the menu.. they could only offer a Mosquito which was great but variety would be greatly appreciated. The food was delicious but I ordered two Steak fillet Medium rare, one came Medium, and the other came cold in the middle. Quite disappointing honestly as I personally choose the restaurant for the steaks. Other than that the rest of the food was a great success, the mix plate was delicious, and all my fellowship really enjoyed the experience.

We have been to Chicago Essen several times, both privately and for business. We had the feeling described by some others of falling into a tourist trap until we were first greeted in the restaurant. The repeatedly mentioned high quality of the food preparation as well as the basic ingredients underlines the friendly, professional and charming character of the service. And yes, high-quality food comes at a price. Cocktails and wines are also offered in high quality. So if you want to pamper yourself or others, you should book here.

Ich habe mit meinen Kolleginnen und Kollegen relativ spontan und in einer großen Gruppe an einem Dienstagabend einen Tisch reserviert. Alles hat gut funktioniert und sogar eine kurzfristige Anpassung hat reibungslos geklappt. Die Bedienung war freundlich und sehr kompetent bei der Beratung der unentschlossen Teilnehmern. Das Essen und die Getränke waren schnell bei uns am Tisch und waren geschmacklich echt super. Preislich bewegt man sich bei dem Restaurant im höheren Bereich, jedoch hat die bereits angesprochene Qualität halt ihren Preis.

Superb food and service with a great selection of premium steaks. However, the atmosphere was a bit unpleasant because the type of music playing (house music) and the volume it was being played, hence the one star reduction. A fine restaurant would have curated music playlists that provide a cozy atmosphere, playing at a volume that is not intrusive. The music they had gave us the feeling we were at a beach bar rather at a fancy restaurant.

He merely performed his regular duties as a server, and despite repeatedly interrupting our table conversation, it was very basic. Perhaps he expected more (for that, he should work harder and be more courteous). He turned his face away and had a very unpleasant demeanor. I find this type of behavior from a staff member intolerable. I do not recommend the restaurant.

Just eaten here and whilst you may think it is expensive, it is worth every penny. The food is amazing, I have never had a more perfectly cooked steak, the wine is the perfect blend of sweet and crisp and it is all overshadowed by the exceptional service of the staff. Wonderful people but I especially want to call out the young lady who went above and beyond to ensure we had an exceptional experience.

Sehr schönes Steakhaus am Wittenbergplatz! Der Salat für 12€ ist sehr sehr lecker und üppig, das Steak war ebenso perfekt - wenn auch für 50€ sicherlich nicht unbedingt günstig. Das Ambiente ist sehr schön und einladend und lässt einen gerne verweilen. Der Service war ebenso sehr nett und aufmerksam. Beim nächsten Berlin-Besuch komme ich auf jeden Fall wieder!

Nachtrag von 30.11.23: Man versucht über einen Anwalt bei Google diese Rezension zu löschen. Super! Ohne Worte… Original: Im Oktober wurde ein Tisch für 6 Personen zum 1. Weihnachtsfeiertag, also heute, zu 12.30 Uhr reserviert. Kaum ein paar Stunden wurde mir der Tisch schriftlich bestätigt. Nun stand man heute pünktlich vorm Restaurant, die Tür offen, jedoch alles dunkel und lediglich eine Spülkraft war dort die mitteilte das man erst um 16 Uhr öffnen würde... Prima! Danke für nichts. Toll wenn man Weihnachten abgewiesen wird.

Keurige zaak, met redelijk vriendelijk personeel. Helaas de prijs- kwaliteitsverhouding helemaal in de war. Ruim 50,- per persoon, matig vlees.

10/10 Geschmacklich, absolut nichts auszusetzen, habe die Pfeffer-Rahm-Sauce zum Steak ausgelöffelt die war einfach eine Offenbarung. Preislich ne ziemliche bombe, doch das ist es mehr als Wert. Sehr gemütliches leicht schummriges Ambiente, gefällt mir sehr.

Sehr chickes Restaurant am Wittenberg Platz, für jeden Geldbeutel was dabei, tolles Ambiente, sehr nettes Personal, Gerichte sind sehr fein und lecker!kann man empfehlen.

we were 7 adults. the meat was exelent . the staters were- some good some not. the wine was hot and disapoiting.total bill 450€. over all: good but expensive . franch or argentinian wine for 85 € must be much better.

Never go here, staff is racist. And there for We got basicly no service and under cooked stakes. And very expensive.

Alles rund um perfekt. Das Essen war sehr lecker, der Service ist exzellent und professionell und das Ambiente sehr schön. Wir waren an einem Freitagabend und es war nicht zu voll. Der Service war sehr zuvorkommend und hat uns sehr detailliert die Speisen erklärt. Außerdem waren sie sehr verständnisvoll für einen Platzwechsel. Wir hatten verschiedene Vorspeisen wie den Oktopus, den Bulgur und die Kartoffelpuffer. Alles war extrem lecker. Als Hauptspeise das argentinische Entrecote mit Bratkartoffeln. Alles war auf den Punkt, war perfekt im Timing und sehr lecker. Zusätzlich hatten wir dann noch den schokobrownie mit Vanilleeis und haben aufs Haus einen Absacker bekommen. Alles in allem, ein wirklich gelungener Abend und wir kommen gerne wieder.

Nice staff but Very disappointing steak. Unseasoned and bland. Partners steak sandwich similar. Chips tasteless. The pepper sauce was watery. Beware the pricing on the menu its not clear. Friend ordered an expensive steak and misread it and the price was per gram. Had to fork out 200 euros for a steak!! I'm sorry I would not recommend this place.
