Steak was the best ive had and im quite the connessieur, service was great only 4 star as service was a bit pushy "get in and get out" kind of vibe other than that spot on, i dont ever really leave reviews to anything!

Well, where do I begin? A series of mishaps. Too many to write down. Here are a few bullet points: Unfriendly. Reservation forgotten. Very long wait despite a moderate number of tables. Insulted. Physical aggression from the store manager. No understanding for us. And much more. If you're going to Blockhouse, it's best to choose one of the other locations in Berlin.

We reserved a table for eight people. The appetizer was served incorrectly, but the waitress insisted she was right and that's how it had been ordered. After that, we received no further service. After a two-hour wait, during which we only received salads, the guests at the surrounding tables had already moved on and started eating. When we asked for the bill for the drinks and salads, as the poor service and long wait had completely taken our toll on our appetites, we were told this wasn't possible because we had ordered the dishes. The store manager threatened to call the police if we didn't pay for the food we hadn't received. As we were leaving the restaurant, the store manager insulted us, threatened us with violence, and told us never to come back. This is absolutely outrageous after 15 years of patronizing this restaurant. If you see a man with silver earrings at the reception desk, it's best to leave immediately. The service and friendliness are better at the next kebab shop.

We were here yesterday and were extremely satisfied. The food was excellent, and the service was also extremely friendly.

After more than 10 years, I visited one of the chain stores and I actually wondered how they managed to offer such good value for money. Unfortunately, it was a disappointing experience for the price.

We eat : American Tenderloin , Mr. Rumpsteak, norwegian fjord salmon,. İ think location is good near the island museum app. 4 min walk. I recommend american tenderloin and mr. Rumpsteak flavour is great and served with baked potato and garlic bread , potato is great bread is also great but i would love to see more crispy bread. Steaks are good however my perspective salmon is medium not special. Wc : is not very clean but still is good expect other places

Every year, after almost 25 years, December 26th has been our fixed date at the Blockhouse with the family. Unfortunately, we were very disappointed this year. Here too, it was noticeable that there's hardly any qualified staff; the warmth, expertise, and especially the humor of the regulars were missing. Even the two men who managed the restaurant that evening were very unpleasant. The prices are high, so I expect good service. But there was a bright spot: Norman and Patte were there, and the two of them saved our evening. We'll be looking for a new place next year. Of course, the Blockhouse is a tourist trap, but they shouldn't forget their regular customers. With that in mind, all the best, and hopefully no more regular waiters will leave. That would be a real shame.

Excellent service, friendly staff, good food quality and a cozy atmosphere

Our experience after two visits: It's a fairly large restaurant, so it's not exactly quiet. But the food arrives quickly, tastes excellent, and the waiters/waitresses are very attentive. We'd love to come back again.

Delicious food at a great price, the staff is funny, and the potatoes with cream sauce are truly delicious, as is the apple strudel with ice cream and whipped cream. The meat here is also excellent and juicy.

Went at 16:00 on a Thursday evening. Was nice, steak was nice but I ordered mine medium-rare, was more rare but doesn't bother me too much. I'd recommend, not bad priced.

I come here every few years and generally enjoy visiting Blockhaus am Alexanderplatz. The location is excellent, and the ambiance remains appealing. The very friendly and prompt service is a particular highlight. However, what I noticed this time – probably because I only come here occasionally – is the significantly smaller portion size compared to before. Previously, several plates were served, and the side dishes were much more generous. Now everything comes on a single plate, looks crammed together, and yet isn't really substantial. Overall, it's still a good restaurant in a great location, but compared to its former glory, it's a definite step down!

The food was very good, but the service left much to be desired. The blonde waitress with messy hair made me feel very uncomfortable in an unnecessary situation. I was speaking at a normal volume on the phone because I'm traveling alone and was talking to my husband when she approached me and asked me to lower the volume, so I did. A few seconds later she came back and asked me to lower the volume even more, at which point I replied that there were children and other people talking because it's a very noisy place… it was a call of less than five minutes that caused me tremendous stress in the restaurant. It was all the fault of an American couple, ridiculous, as always Americans thinking they're the center of the world… who complained about me. I repeat, there was a group of girls gossiping and laughing at the next table… a couple with three children who sometimes throw tantrums, shout and laugh, another couple with a very young baby who is crying, and she came to complain about me. I am still very upset and indignant about this situation. I repeat: the food was great, the problem was the service from this woman with terrible personal presentation, she pretends not to see you when you call to order and is also rude.

Just had dinner with a small group. The food was excellent! The tenderloin was cooked to perfection. The service was very attentive! It was a bit noisy in the restaurant, but very cozy! I'd gladly come again!

An absolutely disappointing and disrespectful experience! I was standing in front of Blockhouse in the evening. My phone had completely died, and I desperately needed a few minutes of power to contact my colleague for a pickup. Although the restaurant was officially closed, several employees were inside, and all the lights were on. I politely asked through the window if they could help me for a moment. The answer was a clear "No." After my phone died again, I tried a second time and even offered to pay for the power outlet—again, I was turned away without a word. I was standing outside on the public street, not bothering or disturbing anyone. A short time later, the police arrived completely unexpectedly. Apparently, the employees had claimed I was trying to break in or something similar nonsense—a completely unfounded accusation. They took down my personal information and, without any discernible reason, even told me to move to the other side of the street. As someone who runs two restaurants myself, I can only say: This kind of behavior is absolutely unprofessional, inhumane, and simply shameful for a restaurant of this size. A minimal level of communication or willingness to help would have sufficed. Instead, the police were called for no reason. For me, this is by far the worst employee behavior I have ever experienced. Utterly outrageous.

It's a really great steakhouse. The atmosphere is also very good. Refined and high-quality service. It's a restaurant we always go to whenever we visit Berlin.

Good steaks in a staid atmosphere

Came here with my son on a short trip to Berlin, I’m not a fan of steak but son is so I ordered a small steak. I absolutely fell in love with the food, my son was really impressed too. We’re planning another trip to Berlin and will definitely be dining here when we’re over again. The service and staff were brilliant.

Last night, while dining at Block House, a piece of porcelain came out of my baked potato. I called the waiter over and showed him the piece. He was flustered, refused to accept my payment, and apologized. My wife almost broke her tooth. I can't believe something like this happened at Block House "Alexander Platz."

The atmosphere is typical of Blockhouse. I had the steak tartare, which unfortunately wasn't very good. It had hardly any flavor; perhaps the recipe should be updated. The main course, however, was very tasty: perfectly cooked meat and a simple but delicious baked potato.

It's worth doing. Our server, Markus, was very attentive to our needs. He clearly loves his job. Reservations are recommended, unless you're coming during the unusual dining hours after 9 pm.

This is the place for you if you like meat and want to treat yourself, because it's not cheap.

We went to Block House today and got a table completely spontaneously. A huge compliment goes to our waitress. We haven't experienced such child-friendly and attentive service in a long time. The lady was very attentive to the children. Right at the beginning, the children received crayons and coloring materials. Afterwards, there were more gifts for the kids, including puzzles, crayons, chalk, and an LED shoe clip. She was also very attentive and quite quick with the drinks. We can definitely recommend it.

I called in her while in Berlin, was greeted by a lovely smile and shown to my table, I ordered the ribeye mastercut which came with a jacket potato and garlic bread and a side salad. I then had the lovely soufflé for dessert. Reasonably priced, great flavour and service.

Simply delicious and expertly prepared, it's easily the number one "Block House" restaurant in Germany. It was a truly delicate and flavorful meal, conjured up by a top chef and served by highly professional staff! Thank you!!!

I highly recommend it! The steaks are incredibly delicious, and they'll cook them to perfection no matter what you choose. It's worth every penny! Your steak comes with fries and gravy, delicious bread, and a salad. It's always busy, so it's best to make a reservation. You can pay by card or cash. The waiters are very polite and friendly. If you're just two people, you can be seated quickly without a reservation if you come on a Friday or Saturday night.

The food was delicious again and the service was friendly. Only the ringing phone at reception near the door bothered me a bit. I'll probably sit further away from the entrance next time.

We had a delicious meal, but unfortunately, the waiter who served us muttered unintelligible comments to us three times as he walked past our table while we were putting on our jackets and about to leave. Even when paying, when we didn't enter a tip on the card reader, he asked three times, insistently and visibly offended, if "everything was alright"—pure theater! A real shame, as our bill for six people already came to €284. More than enough, in our opinion.

A horrible experience. They boast about having a menu in Spanish and gluten-free options, but it's all a scam. The only thing they have for celiacs are some meat dishes for €40, and they brought me a salad with bread. Horrible. If you're celiac, never go there.

I liked everything except that the waiter was rude: I told him 7% of the time, and he entered 14. This is unpleasant because tips are generally given to the customer for consideration.

The quality is rather average or even inferior, definitely not worth the price, I would not recommend it.

Family lunch with decent service

We went there last week without a reservation. I like my steak just right, and my husband likes it a little more... finally, the cooking level was absolutely perfect again. The side dishes were also delicious. The entire staff was fantastic! We got the feeling they still enjoy working together as a team. They're trained hospitality professionals themselves, and it was a real pleasure to be their guests! A huge thank you to everyone. We'll definitely be back next year!

For a long, long time, Block House was my and our favorite restaurant. The prices have gone up quite a bit during our last few visits. Okay, that's the case everywhere. But at the same time, the quality hasn't been what it used to be. Somehow, it just doesn't add up anymore. It's a real shame. I'd rather go to another restaurant. It's even more expensive there, but the quality is there. The service on our last visit was incredibly friendly and attentive, and they even took a picture of us with my phone. Unfortunately, despite asking for a birthday candle, they didn't bring one. The only one at the next table was there. That's a pity. You guys were always so good at that.

Absolutely fantastic steakhouse. I'm a big fan of the well-thought-out Block House concept anyway – but here at Alexanderplatz, it's truly executed to perfection. Block House itself is always a safe bet when it comes to juicy steaks and other delicious dishes. The service was excellent and attentive, despite the fairly full house. Accordingly, it was quite loud, but that's just how it is. In any case, we really enjoyed it again.

There were three of us and we all had the tender rumpstake which was very tasty and the fries were also amazing. Highly recommended.

We like to check out block houses at various locations, and once again we were not disappointed. Amidst the chaos of a large demonstration and the crowds of the Festival of Lights, a disciplined line formed in front of the entrance, which was professionally distributed to the tables. We were immediately informed about the expected time for food preparation and offered a "consolation drink." Despite the unimaginable turnaround time, the food was cooked and presented to perfection. Our server was a steadfastly hardworking young woman who, despite the stress, never missed a chance to find a kind word for her guests. Besides enjoying the perfect steaks, the evening was also more than successful thanks to this lady.
