Cavete Muenster in Münster

Cavete is a great bar with relatively reasonable prices and, recently, also some great vegan options. It has its own unique style and charm, and I enjoy going there every now and then.

It's been beautiful there for decades!

Beautiful ambiance. Delicious vegan food. Super friendly service, and (best of all, come last) Giant Rooks' music played repeatedly. That was our highlight!

We visited Cavete as part of the culinary city tour. It was beautifully decorated and had a pleasant atmosphere. We had a small portion of baked green pasta. Unfortunately, the drinks took a long time to arrive, and one was completely forgotten.

An excellent restaurant, very fast and efficient service. The waiters all speak English. I recommend pasta number 3 over the others. The place is a little dark but it gives it a very cozy atmosphere. The truth is that I highly recommend it for a family dinner.

I studied in Münster. It was one of my favorite places almost thirty years ago. 😁 Went there again for the first time in 25 years and immediately felt comfortable again. A simply good, cozy pub. The staff was very friendly! 👍 We enjoyed the food very much. The green noodles were delicious and a hit back then! The Cafete is Die! Student pub in Münster! I hope it doesn't take another 25 years until I visit the cafe again.

It takes quite a long time for the food to arrive. This was partly because the store was very busy, but you should stick to certain times. Plus it's pretty crowded with a lot of people. We had reserved and got the seats, but there was definitely not enough space for the number of people. Basically the whole restaurant is a bit spacious. But the food was very tasty. The waitresses were also very attentive, courteous and friendly. But if there are several people, I would allow enough time and definitely make a reservation. Overall, I think the store is pretty good.

Not really. The toilets are subterranean, the food is mediocre at best, cramped, stuffy, dark...

The food (green pasta with salmon and chicken with fries and salad) was good, but the portion size was not right for the price. Both dishes cost €17.90. When it came to drinks, I ordered, among other things, mineral water. Unfortunately, this is only available in 0.75 l bottles and not smaller. It costs €7.50!!!! That was more expensive than the wine. After I poured the water and tasted it, I discovered that it was still water. I wanted to exchange it. This would only have been possible if I had paid for both bottles. I complained that the service staff didn't ask me in advance about the type of water. I received no answer and no apology. Good customer service looks different. Normally I'm very generous with tips, but this time there was nothing! The atmosphere is very quaint and cozy. The many niches and candle lighting make you feel at home. The toilets are disgusting and in dire need of renovation. This is also an unacceptable situation for a student bar. Given the prices and the equipment, I would have expected more goodwill from the boss, which is a shame.

The ambience is great. Alternative style, historical vaults, objects, pictures and lots of historical wooden paneling. The service is friendly and attentive. Fits 👍🏻😃

The Cavete (academic beer establishment) is a very quaint and beautiful pub in the old town district of Münster. The home-made, fresh food and, above all, the friendly service are worth highlighting here. The cocktails are good, as is the beer selection. Particularly noteworthy are the "homemade noodles" - freshly prepared, very filling and very tasty.

Beer is incredibly expensive, but the food is incredibly tasty.

Quaint location that has remained unchanged for decades - Green noodles are actually good "but" the portion has been reduced by at least 25% compared to the previous year (September 24) in the same size casserole dish - and at the same price - is very noticeable (you no longer get full, even if you are not very hungry) therefore very cheeky towards the customer and therefore unfortunately only recommended to a very limited extent - just a shame and unnecessary in this form!!! Please change that ASAP or sell it as an appetizer!

Super good and authentic Italian food. Great pizza and pasta selection and tempting desserts in the display case. Very child-friendly, fast and friendly service staff. We'd love to come back!!

A very, very nice, rustic pub. Good selection of beer. There is also delicious food. It's very cozy there with candlelight and wooden furniture. We were in Münster for the Christmas market and stopped here for a drink. However, I can also very well imagine that you can spend great evenings here.

Cavete... Well, Cavete and I had a long and great time. I grew up in MS and of course we were in the Cavete. In - up the stairs on the right - sit at the window... Like before, like over 30/35 years ago. Yes, it's been that long. The food was good, green noodles 🍜, pure ambience, it was and is simply wonderful!

Student pub with a rustic flair - a simply feel-good atmosphere. 40 years ago we always ate 🍝 spaghetti bolognese, now there are also vegan and vegetarian sides on the menu - there is something delicious for everyone. However, you should bring your time, the Cavete is understandably very popular - because of the dishes, but also the drinks (there is Guinness)

Super unique Münster Pub in Walking distance to the Cathedral and right at the promenade. Located in a charming little alley with lots of places to dine and hang out. Amazing decoration, art deco meets pirate shop meets home of the hobbits. Red upside down parkbenches, wood carved rustic statues and a general air of homeliness. A wonderful place to chill.

Flash back in alte studententage. Hatten gegenüber keinen Platz zum Essen bekommen und haben es hier spontan versucht. Hatten Glück und noch 2 Plätze bekommen, leider viele Tische reserviert auf 20:00h aber schon um 18:00 nicht besetzt. Das müsste eigentlich machbar sein. Steigert zumindest den Umsatz. Mal drüber nachdenken. Saßen in der niesche unter der Treppe. Lauschig. Haben von der kleineren Karte aber gut gegessen. Lecker waren die Falaffeln und es findet sich immer was zur hausspezialität der Grünen Nudeln mit X Soßen und Zubereitungsvarianten. In jedem Fall war hier der teufel los, super Stimmung, tolle Musik, lässiges Publikum allen Alters, lässiges und sehr nettes Personal. Gegen 21:00 klar der Schwerpunkt auf Bar und weniger essen. Ambiente coole, etwas düstere aber kreative Einrichtung, mit „Maisonette „ oder Art Balkon im 2. Stock. Werden, sollten wir mal wieder in Münster sein, sicher hier mal wieder reinbremsen. Super auch für Jung gebliebene Ältere ohne dass es peinlich wird.

Flash back to old student days. We couldn't find a place to eat across the street and spontaneously tried it here. We were lucky and got 2 seats, unfortunately many tables were reserved for 8 p.m. but were not occupied at 6 p.m. That should actually be possible. At least increases sales. Think about it. Sat in the niche under the stairs. Cozy. But we ate well from the smaller menu. The falafels were delicious and there is always something to go with the house specialty of green noodles with X number of sauces and preparation variations. In any case, all hell was going on here, great atmosphere, great music, casual audience of all ages, casual and very nice staff. Around 9 p.m. the focus is clearly on the bar and eating less. Atmosphere cool, somewhat dark but creative furnishings, with a “maisonette” or type of balcony on the 2nd floor. If we are in Münster again, we will definitely brake here again. Great for older people who are young at heart too, without it becoming embarrassing.

So I was in Münster for 4 days. I spent 2 of them with Kusshand in the Cavete. I have to say Moritz and Mika are running the place like ace. If I ever come back to Münster then I'll register right here ❤️. If you want to have one or more hot evenings, you can crash in here and have a “relaxed” round and really have a good time here 🤞🏼

We really enjoy coming here and it's always really tasty in the great atmosphere. Unfortunately, we had to experience again that only one waitress was assigned to the entire store. She did a great job, but the waiting times were very long. (Mayo only came when you were almost finished eating)

The location alone in the colorful, lively street, opposite Münster's oldest brewery, is great! Especially in summer there is a great atmosphere outside, lots of old pubs with tables in wonderfully renovated houses. The Cavete itself is very cozy, with stairs, niches and lots of wood. The pasta dishes are legendary and the drinks menu has something for everything. The service is friendly and the prices are ok.. What annoys me is that, even in summer, from 10 p.m. onwards, the tables at all restaurants are folded outside... if you move into a bar district, which was already a wicked area in the Middle Ages!!, you honestly can't complain about the noise in the evenings . It's a shame that the city of Münster is not on the side of traditional pub culture. The residents who complain should be ashamed of themselves.

Typical Kreuzstrasse pub. Lots of space inside and beer tent sets outside. Food and drinks were delicious. Deduction because there are no expressly vegan offers. However, it was possible to have individual dishes changed. The service was very friendly, but it took a long time at the beginning. We may have arrived at a rush hour.
