Que pena! We were looking forward to a warm Spanish evening in the still cold Nuremberg spring. The service was quick and the explanation of the order was understandable and simple. We lived in Spain and speak the language, so we were familiar with tapas and were expectant. There is no price information on the menu or order form, which surprised us a lot. There were four of us and we ordered 4 tapas per person, so we had 16 different tapas. We ordered from each category so that we had enough choice. Soft drinks and bread were served quickly. Positive: the drinks are served in glass bottles. Unfortunately, the bread served was soft and completely tasteless. The tapas were all unconvincing, including tortilla cold and not fresh, chorizo ​​drowned in fatty sauce, beef cold and tasteless, greasy, thickly fried eggplant, jamon serrano with a thick fat rim from the package, the sauces were served in small porcelain vessels, all of which were sharply broken at the edge. We were looking forward to fresh, homemade, sophisticated little tapas that the Spanish do so well. Here in Nuremberg we only got convenience products that we can buy in any discount store during the Spanish week. The crowning glory of this culinary disaster was the bill: EUR 162. If you want to advertise Spanish cuisine like this, then you need to urgently rethink the cooking staff and ingredients, not to mention the pricing policy!

Great Spanish restaurant. But the price-performance ratio isn't quite right, because we've eaten much better and cheaper tapas. I expect the shrimp in the small clay pots to be still hot and sizzling, the mussels were extremely small and unfortunately a real joke for €13. Four thin slices of steak for €12 is also not good value for money. The service on Sunday evening was very nice, but a bit overwhelmed since he ran the place completely by himself. Unfortunately, no one asked me if I would like anything else to drink. I ordered squid tubes according to the menu, what I got were four fried squid rings, which I get better seasoned and prepared at every Greek restaurant. Unfortunately it was dispassionate. Even though we were impressed by the atmosphere, we unfortunately won't be coming back. Too bad!

As always, great and still super tasty, top quality and a really great price/performance ratio. We always feel very welcome and somehow like you are visiting friends.

Good and large selection of tapas, ordering process using a piece of paper is quite confusing for larger groups. Tapas itself tastes good. The big drawback is the food and drink menu without any price information; We were accordingly shocked at the end when we received the total bill. For example, a beer (0.33l!) costs €5 here, as do soft drinks.

Probably the best Spanish restaurant in Nuremberg. We prefer to visit Casa Mendoza on paella evening because it is celebrated here as a culinary experience, including preparation in the dining room and tasting of the stock. Delicious starters, a very small but well-selected wine list (the white wine from the recommendation menu brings back holiday memories) and of course a delicious paella - second helpings possible! The experience is rounded off by the friendly service, the rustic ambience and the always cheerful owner. Thank you very much! 🔥

The food is phenomenally delicious, the service is exceptional. We were extremely excited. When making the online reservation, I requested a quiet table in a corner with normal seating because we are a bit older. Our wish was met 100%.

We went here as a group to eat tapas. Sharing with others was a lot of fun. The individual small dishes were very tasty and three tapas filled you up well. The choice between meat, fish, cheese and vegetables left nothing to be desired.

Casa Mendoza is a tapas bar. The friendly owner is Spanish and cooks phenomenally. On the last Sunday of the month there is delicious paella. Needless to say that all the tapas are great. Wine and beer and brown tequila, served by the always funny barman Israel, round off the overall experience. Leave your car, take the subway and get off at Maxfeld station. Then there are only a few meters left. The cozy atmosphere with bar and high tables invites you to linger for a long time. The guests are all muy simpático.

Top service; very tasty tapas; nice atmosphere, always happy to go there; you get a table (2 people) even if everything is full, a place is quickly organized; you really feel welcome!

We ordered a variety of tapas plates and as variable as our order was, so was the quality and preparation. From absolutely great to boring in taste or not well prepared. Anchovies in olive oil and parsley are absolutely great, the chroquetas with chicken based on mom's recipe are an absolute highlight. Potatoes with aioli nice and crispy and good taste. The Queso de Vaca, the fried cow cheese, was also really good. Now for the less good tapas: Chicken skewers marinated in cumin almost didn't taste any cumin or other spices, skewers were also extremely thin and therefore quite dry. The Fritos Variados were fried soggy and completely tasteless. Likewise, the calamari a la Romana in chickpea flour, the breading was soft, not well fried and also unfortunately tasteless. Somehow I felt like the frying oil wasn't at enough temperature. When you throw frozen fish into the deep fryer, the temperature of the oil naturally initially decreases. And on the again very limp fried zucchini slices with cane sugar and honey there was no spice such as sea salt or pepper or thyme, just a lot of this cane sugar and honey, which meant that there was no balance of salty or slightly spiciness to the honey , but just way too much sweetness. All in all, not bad products, a very nice young man as a waiter, a nice atmosphere, but the preparation of some tapas should be worked on again. The bottle of red wine was very good.

The indoor area is definitely more impressive than the outdoor area. This is located directly on Pirckheimerstrasse, which brings with it a corresponding background noise. The prices are not unreasonable, but you also get very good food in decently sized portions. All in all, Casa Mendoza is highly recommended.

We love the tapas at Casa Mendoza. You can tell that the food here is prepared with passion. An absolute highlight is the large paella once a month. I have rarely eaten one so delicious (even in Spain). We always like to come and we look forward to it every time.

The staff was extremely attentive and accommodating - really perfect service! We ordered 8 tapas and that was really enough for 2 people, the portions are about normal size. Bread was served and at the end there was a sloe liqueur on the house. We were completely satisfied and from now on we definitely count Casa Mendoza as one of the best tapas restaurants in Nuremberg! 🙏🏻

The food was okay, nothing exceptional and everything was just lukewarm. No aioli or olives as a "greeting from the kitchen". We reserved an email for 5.30 p.m., we were thrown out at 8 p.m. because the table was still allocated to someone else - that wasn't in the email, there was no notice from the staff in between and we had to leave the restaurant thirsty. I've never experienced that before.

I am from Spain and the food didn't meet my expectations (and I was not expecting it to be as good as what I could get in Spain). I have never eaten such a dry tortilla and the albóndigas had way too many spices. The croquetas were ok. I liked the pimientos rellenos de pescado, although it was different from the traditional recipe (with "bacalao" and bechamel sauce).
