Sehr gutes Lokal zum Essen und auch mal entspannt ein Getränk nehmen

Hochsaison und trotzdem super freundliche und schnelle Bedienung. Nur zu empfehlen! Essen ist top, Ambiente sowieso.

Vorab: der Service war sehr freundlich und gut. Wenn man Sushi auf der Karte hat, sollte man es auch zubereiten können. Das war hier unterirdisch. Garnelen in Tempura= teils noch roh, Thunfisch = das hatte mit Fisch überhaupt nichts zu tun, mehr als unterirdisch. Es kam uns so vor, als wenn diese Rollen schon tagelang irgendwo rumstanden und jetzt endlich unter die Gäste gebracht werden konnten. Auf unsere Beschwerde hin, wurde das Essen neu zubereitet und nach einiger Zeit kam auch die Küchenchefin und entschuldigte sich. Das alles hat aber das Essen nicht besser gemacht ne führt uns dazu, dieses Restaurant alles in allem nicht weiter zu empfehlen ne auch nicht wieder zu besuchen .

Service war 1 A,danke nochmal ans Personal, Essen war sehr lecker, Rippchen mit extra Pommes und Majo und überbackener Schafskäse. Dazu ein leckeres Weißenbier, naturtrüb mit Zitrone. Außenbereich war sehr angenehm zu sitzen, kann aber nicht reserviert werden. Die sanitären Anlagen waren sehr sauber. Im Großen und Ganzen war es alles sehr angenehm, lecker, und empfehlenswert und wir kommen gerne wieder, wenn wir wieder auf der Insel sind!

Unsere Steaks waren sehr gut! Der Service war super. Leider war die vegetar. Frikadella absolut ungewürzt und geschmacklos, hier muss dringend etwas geändert werden, ebenso gab es keine Soße zu dem Gericht. (-2 Sterne)

Wir waren mit einer größen Gruppe im Restaurant und hatten einen sehr schönen Abend. Das Essen war lecker, die Portionen waren groß, der Service war aufmerksam und das Lokal an sich war schön. Wir haben uns sehr wohlgefühlt und kommen gerne wieder.

Wir haben im März 2026 unsere Hochzeit mit 50 Personen in der Schirmbar der Hohen Düne und abends im Carl Steakmann gefeiert. Es war eine wundervolle Feier. Das Servicepersonal war super nett, aufmerksam und zuverlässig. Die Qualität der Speisen war sehr gut und wurde von uns sowie unseren Gästen durchweg positiv bewertet. Herr Rippe und sein Team sind flexibel auf unsere Wünsche eingegangen und haben die Veranstaltung professionell begleitet. Auch das Ambiente des Schirms und des Restaurants haben zu einem gelungenen Rahmen beigetragen. Wir geben sehr gerne die volle Punktzahl und sagen nochmals „Danke“. Julia und Karsten

Größer gemischter Salat mit 4 kleinen Scheiben Brot, war fast nur Blattsalat und eine nicht allzu große Portion für 10 €. Dressing war kaum vorhanden und somit der Salat pfade und geschmacklos.Zusätzliches geordertes Beilagenbrot ca. 6 teilweise trockene kleine Scheiben kosteten zusätzlich 5,50€ . Preis/Leistungsverhältnis war hier nicht okay. Ob die ihren Salat mal selber probiert haben? Selbst die Kellnerin meinte, dass der Preis hierfür zu hoch sei!!

Sehr tolles Lokal. Essen, Garnelenpfanne war kulunarische Weltklasse. Wein sehr gut. Service sehr umsichtig und nett. Das Ambiente wunderbar. Idealerweise für Inselbesucher sehr empfehlenswert. Draussen sitzen, trinken und Leute beobachten. Einfach den Steakmann genießen. ....Danke

2x hatten wir das Kotelett. Es hat sehr gut ausgesehen, die Beilagen waren top. Leider bestanden beide Koteletts zur Hälfte aus purem Speck. No go. Zu Hause käme so etwas nicht in die Pfanne, weder für uns noch für Gäste. Auf meine Intervention hin bei der Service-Kraft ("Ich gebe es weiter!") kam nichts zurück. Im Nachhinein ärgere ich mich, dass ich nicht noch einmal nachgefragt habe.

Es gibt hier einen großen Unterschied zwischen Innen und Außen. Innen: Sehr teuer, kaum etwas auf der Karte und zähes Fleisch. Nur eine Kellnerin und daher kam sie kaum hinterher. Außen: Nicht ganz so teuer, lecker gegrilltes Fleisch, aber ewige Wartezeiten, insbesondere im Sommer. Über eine Stunde zwischen Ankunft und Essen sind normal. Nicht dass das Personal nicht bemüht wäre, aber 2 Kellner und eine Person am Grill sind für knapp 90 Gäste einfach zu wenig. Die Rechnung hat dann weitere 30 Minuten auf sich warten lassen. Sehr schade, dass die Personalpolitik da seit drei Jahren einen Strich durch die Rechnung macht.

We had lunch at Carl Steakmann a few days ago. The food was delicious. We ordered spare ribs with extra fries and a shrimp stir-fry with extra fries, as well as a refreshing drink each. The staff was attentive and friendly. We waited a short (and reasonable) time for our food. There's absolutely nothing to complain about, from the entrance to the food and even the restrooms. We'll definitely come back when we're on the island again. The only downside might be that it's NOT possible to reserve a table outside (which we can imagine could be problematic during peak season).

Unfortunately, they don't serve burgers in the evening – they're only available until 5 pm. The evening menu is a bit smaller, but there's sure to be something for everyone. We had the spaghetti with salmon and the vegan meatball, both of which were delicious. The portions could have been a bit larger, especially the meatball, which was a little small. But overall, the atmosphere was great and the food was absolutely delicious.

Overall, everything is good, with a good selection of drinks at the bar. They've made the most of the building, which used to be part of the train station.

One of the best restaurants on Juist

Our meal was very good. One was spaghetti aglio e olio with shrimp and a vegan punch. Both were very good and plentiful. Service was friendly and attentive. The ambiance was very cozy and quiet.

We were there at the end of August 2025...Centrally located, we went twice! The best chanterelle soup I've ever had, as well as pasta with strips of beef fillet or steaks, all really good to very good! ...we'll be back in 2026!

Great place, modern and cozy. We only had a few drinks. The service was friendly, but they didn't ask if we wanted anything else.

Beautiful outdoor lighting for dining and sitting. Great food for all ages. And if you're craving meat after all the fish on the coast, this is the perfect place. 😉

September 11, 2025 - 8:15 PM We have NEVER been treated like this in a restaurant! The seasonal waiter greeted us politely and explained that there were two menus. He suggested we look at the menu to see if we liked Mediterranean food and decide if we wanted to accept it. Then he simply left us standing in the entrance area with the menu. The message from this employee was clear: Can you even afford this? There is no rational explanation for this behavior! We looked at each other, wondering where the hidden camera was, put the menu aside, and left the restaurant to enjoy a culinary treat at Hummer Köbes. You should be ashamed of yourselves for this.

Perfect for our wedding dinner – highly recommended The planning beforehand was very pleasant and uncomplicated, the food was simply fantastic and everyone really enjoyed it. The service was unbeatable: attentive, warm, and professional. We had a small room just for us with our own terrace for our wedding dinner, which created a wonderful atmosphere. We would choose this location again anytime and recommend it without reservation. Axel Rippe also prepared and provided us with a small setup on the beach for our civil ceremony in a straightforward and helpful manner.

We accidentally sat down in an outdoor beach chair 30 minutes before opening time. We were asked to leave immediately. The male waitress was absolutely unfriendly, rude, and not customer-oriented. A definite no-go! Fortunately, there are good alternatives on Juist.

Nicely done, but not exactly a regional menu, even though they advertise it. So we have a drink and continue watching. Of course, there's no cake in the afternoon. It's a beer garden, after all. Sorry to ask. This year, they're serving sushi. It looks good and my son really enjoys it. A real treat.

The BBQ area is a very pleasant place to sit when the weather is good. This, along with the lack of reservations, is the only criticism.

Very nice beer garden, with great food and super friendly service. Great steak selection, Susi, and vegetarian dishes. I especially recommend the shrimp pan with tomatoes, peppers, olives, onions, and more, served with a selection of fresh baguette. In my opinion, the ambiance in this otherwise beautiful restaurant has suffered greatly since the arrival of many dried flowers. The resulting "charm" is unbearable for me. What a shame!

Perfectly located. Centrally located and close to the harbor, not far from the spa square, mini golf, and the National Park House. So, right in the middle of the action. But still relaxed. You can always find a shady spot thanks to the ample parasols here. Extremely friendly staff, very efficient. There's always time for a quick, friendly chat. They serve food from the grill, not just steaks. The food was very good; I had salmon with a small salad on the side. The salmon portion could have been a little larger for the price, but well... prices have gone up everywhere without any change in portion sizes. My colleague opted for the bratwurst, which was apparently very good. Above all, it was a "real" bratwurst. Some restaurants serve a ham bratwurst. The interior is beautifully designed and super clean. I can wholeheartedly recommend Carl Steakmann.

Great location, very attentive service. Unfortunately, I was served bad oysters! I eat oysters every day, and a chef should be able to tell when oysters are no longer okay. Therefore, I recommend not eating oysters here. The salad and sushi were very good.

Stylish. Courteous. Relaxed and delicious! In our opinion, it doesn't get any better than this.

Of course, the steaks at Carl Steakman aren't "bad." But they're not spectacular either. And for prices ranging from 40 to over 70 euros, you expect something special. That's not what you get. It's just a perfectly normal, okay steakhouse, whose prices cleverly keep up with the hyperinflation specific to Juist and are in the upper Munich segment. The same goes for the service: attentive, brave, but by no means particularly competent. We only really liked the open interior design, reminiscent of South American steakhouses.

The food was a disappointment - the chop was overcooked, the tuna was cold at first and then spicy.

A major disappointment! The waitress was rude after we arrived early; we were given a lousy table, even though others were free. The food: a chop that was overcooked, a tuna steak that was first served cold, then with a super-spicy sauce—the fish was completely unpalatable. As an apology, we were offered an espresso and dessert. Instead of a bill, we received a "No Bill" message. I then put a stop to the tax scam by requesting a receipt. The table next to us was also totally disappointed.

Unexpected, but very, very good. We hadn't really considered this restaurant and decided to try it at short notice. The food was great, the ambiance modern and chic. The service was exemplary. We were very impressed.

Quality and size of the portions are absolutely fair in relation to the price, e.g. a dozen shrimps on the spaghetti and not like elsewhere… four… The steak we ordered was also just great.

I ate a burger outside on the terrace and have never experienced such a friendly waitress… Great!

Das Rinderfilet war innen komplett roh ( Medium bestellt ) das bestellt Rumpsteak ( englisch bestellt) war innen grau definitiv nicht blutig . Der Service war nett hat aber die Beanstandung nicht wirklich ernst genommen oder weitergeben .

The food (matjes with drilling potatoes) was too expensive for the quality. The crux of the meal was the potatoes. These were hard and shriveled from the preparation. The service was great, as was the ambience. Despite the rating, I would come back and just eat something different.

Stylish ambience. Friendly and courteous service. The food was extremely tasty (lemon ginger soup and ripe eye steak from Agnus beef cooked to perfection), no complaints about the food. I can only recommend the location. The price-performance ratio matches the upscale cuisine on offer. I'd love to come back 😀

Great sun terrace, good wine selection, delicious food and friendly service. The salmon fillet grilled in beech wood came to the table beautifully presented! The fries alone could have been a little crispier and the dips a little bigger... 10 fewer fries would have been enough😉😉 And this year (2024) we had the pulled pork with cole slaw on a bed of great crispy fries 🍟. Great and a huge portion that is hard for a woman to conquer 😉. I'm thrilled!!

A very nice location, stylish and inviting! Which was recommended to us by several Juisters. On Friday we only had a drink and the menu appealed to us so much that we reserved a table for yesterday. We were a little early and were asked to wait in the fireplace area, which was only possible while standing due to overcrowding. We finally got a seat at the bar, where we were ignored by the cheerless staff for 10 minutes and were only served when we asked. Then we were brought to the table and quickly received our very good food. The owner came to us and we assumed that we would be asked for further requests. Far from it, we were once again complimented in the fireplace room with the offer of a digestive on the house. At first we were speechless, even shocked by this way of dealing with "guests" and asked for the bill. Our aperitif from the bar was missing from this bill and I pointed this out. They said it was on the house. I refused and said that I had never been treated so badly and condescendingly. This was neither recognized nor apologized for, no, they said that we didn't have a table at all, but that we were given one because of our generosity, we were "just standing at the bottom". The summary of the whole thing is that we will no longer visit this and all other restaurants in this group. There are also many other very good restaurateurs that we are looking forward to meeting.

Spaghetti with grilled prawns delicious. But what a disappointment was the sorbet with fresh fruit! No fresh fruit just mashed kiwi and pathetic bits of peach out of a tin and a couple of grapes. As for the sorbet…forget it!

A great place not just for food. The decor is fantastic and very tasteful, what was created there is great. The staff was very nice, friendly and attentive. The food came super quickly even though it was busy. But that's beside the point anyway, it's just fun to sit and watch. A visit that calls for repeating. 👍👍

Very nice location. The food was great. There is a nice but not too large selection of food. Prices are completely reasonable. There was also a lot for the children. And when they're done, they can go straight to the playground. The service is very friendly and attentive. Unfortunately, this is not the case everywhere on Juist. You should make a reservation as it is always quite busy.

On Friday evenings in August the Therasse ("beer garden") is not open, but advertises on the street for 12-9 p.m.... In the past the food was good and reasonably priced.

Modern, cozy. Food took a long time and seemed partly warmed up. Very good potatoes for herring. Under "Vegan/Vegetarian" was a "peanut chicken"...it was actually chicken and not a vegetable replica. High season, but only half attended. We were there twice today...

Everything is very excellent, but please note that the prices are on the higher side, which means that the atmosphere is nice and quiet and the food and drinks are beautifully presented. We recommend

We visited the beer garden for the first time and were thrilled. We had a sunny spot and were warmly served by the lovely Iris and two young men. Despite the beer garden being full, they remained confident and friendly. The food tasted excellent. We would definitely like to come back and thank you for this great last evening of our vacation.

Just unbelievable. I almost don't have the words to describe how beautiful it was there. The service was excellent, the decoration and furnishings were pleasing to the eye and even the food left you wanting for joy. Even if in our case it was "just" pasta, the taste completely convinced us.

Asked for a table at the entrance without a reservation, the lady didn't know a greeting or a friendly look that we weren't welcome couldn't be shown more clearly. Should I have worn a jacket? Incredible.

We have “only” had a few drinks in the last few days. The menu sounds really good though. The indoor location is super modern and beautifully set up. A highlight, even if it sounds strange, are the toilets. I won't say anything more about it, you'll have to see for yourself :) the service is top notch and super dog-loving. An absolute recommendation from me

200 grams of rump steak, herb butter, fries and South Carolina sausage, small salad extra. Tastes very good. The steak was small but perfect meat. Fries cross and delicious. The small salad is served in a tall bowl. When I took it out, some things fell out of place because the lettuce wasn't chopped up. Salad dressing needs improvement. Service impeccable and very nice. What was unpleasant was the scent diffuser, which gave off a constant scent. Leaves a terrible impression when eating. You also have to be able to smell food and not have the smell of any flowers imprinted on it. Drinks Krefelder and Café good. Conclusion: I can only recommend eating and drinking. Only outside because of the diffuser. No more inside. Unfortunately

It's a great restaurant in the center of Juist, very modernly decorated, the service is very attentive. The menu is not overloaded which I like. Overall a bit higher priced. I chose the Ibericho pork chop with asparagus and rosemary potatoes. For dessert there was coconut mousse with pineapple rolls, very tasty 😋, both dishes.

Good service but poor quality of food. The wine also seems “adulterated”. Unfortunately no recommendation despite the nice atmosphere...

We ate lunch outside: Food worse than at McDonalds. Expensive and no taste. It's a shame, the interior and the sanitary facilities are top notch!

You actually have to praise the restaurant for the fact that you can still get something warm here after 3 p.m. It's not that easy to find something on Juist, at least in May. The salad with chicken was of very poor quality and therefore significantly too expensive. At least the waitress was friendly and even offered to replace the charred chicken.

Zähes Rindfleisch und statt Soße Fetttunke und das soll Boev Stroganov sein. Unfassbar. Die Bedienung hat unsere Beschwerde angehört, aber nichts unternommen.

Essen uns Service waren sehr gut - trotzdem passen Preis und Leistung nicht ansatzweise zueinander. Sehr überschaubare Karte, da muss es schon sehr passen - die 3 Vorspeisen haben bei uns nicht funktioniert. Ca. 60 EUR für das durchschnittliche Steak - das passt selbst mit Insel-Inflations-2023-Plus-2024-Aufschlag nicht mehr, den sich gerade alle Juister Gastronomen auf den neugedruckten Karten gönnen. Es gibt Alternativen…!!!

Wir hatten Anfang des Jahres einen Tisch reserviert für das Wochenende um Christi Himmelfahrt. Während der Osterferien (März) haben wir und während eines Essens nochmals bestätigen lassen, dass die Reservierung für Mai steht. Rund zehn Tage (!!) vor der Reservierung ruft uns das Restaurant an und sagt ab, da man jetzt eine geschlossen Gesellschaft mit 150 Personen angenommen habe. Frechheit! Wir wollten mit 13 Personen kommen und tüchtig Umsatz machen!

Price-performance ratio overpriced even for island prices. Just because you drizzle something with truffle oil doesn't make it an exclusive food. The ambience is modern and cool, and the view of the Wadden Sea is also beautiful.

Very beautiful and elaborate redesign of the old train station. Very attractive outdoor seating area, perfect for sunny hours. The menu is a bit sparse, very few fish options, so I chose steak (the name says it all). Unfortunately the quality of the steak was only average, but the prices were above average. Price-performance ratio is not right here, cocktails around €12-€13, starters €15-€20, main course €30-€50... You can (perhaps) call that on the Hohe Düne because of the location and sea view, but not at the spa square. I would particularly like to mention the extremely friendly and courteous service. We were here for our birthday and the table was specially decorated and we were personally congratulated several times. Service on the island is getting worse and worse, which is particularly praiseworthy in the Steakmann as well as in the Hohe Düne. The tea house, on the other hand (belongs to the same group), was catastrophic.

Preis-/Leistungsverhältnis stimmt überhaupt nicht. Steaks eher „naja“ und das für Top-Preise. Flammkuchen völlig überteuert. Schmeckt wie Tiefkühlware. Lange Rede kurzer Sinn: viel Schein um nichts. Für uns nicht weiterzuempfehlen.

Nice restaurant, with a nice view. The staff professional and friendly. Food was very good. Price / performance of the island is okay. We ended our day of vacation very nicely here.

You can do it. Children's meals cost 4 euros more than stated online. Couscous with some unimaginative ratatouille was ok, spaghetti Aglio Olio was very good, with delicious semi-dried cherry tomatoes. Ambience is quite nice, service is not overly friendly, but good.

Service and ambience 5 stars, there is absolutely nothing to criticize. Unfortunately the food was only lukewarm, but tasted very good. The prices for the drinks are outrageously high. All in all OK. Price/performance well, not suitable for a small wallet.

A beautiful place to unwind, have something nice to drink and/or eat. The service is unbeatably friendly. Highly recommended. Our dogs were also very welcome 🥰
