I had some really delicious potato dumplings there (they also pointed out that the appetizers were small) and a fantastic spicy soup with glass noodles. A really great place, something new to try, and very, very tasty! I'd love to go again :)

Love DanDan noodles, I don't know of any comparable place – highly recommended. SO SO DELICIOUS

We ordered through a delivery service and unfortunately discovered that the food was inedible. We love spicy food, but serving it with such a spiciness when it's not labeled is simply too cheeky. It was truly inedible. Furthermore, the portions are very small, more like tapas.

I've been a very satisfied customer at Cai-Kitchen for a long time. I like all the dishes and am also happy that they sometimes add seasonal items to the menu. Highly recommended if you like spicy food. Personally, I could imagine adding a hearty soup to the menu.

Conclusion: If you can handle spicy food, you'll love it. We were at Cai Kitchen during the week for lunch. The place was empty at first, but then it filled up quite quickly. Among other dishes, we had the Tian Shui-style udon noodles. They were really spicy (as stated on the menu) but still fresh and with plenty of other flavors. We can also highly recommend the polenta with black soybeans as a side dish. The portions weren't huge, unfortunately, but the quality is good, and the dishes are all vegan and really freshly prepared. The service was fast (it's a snack bar, after all), and the atmosphere is relaxed. We'll definitely be back.

This is a Chinese noodle restaurant for Germans, not recommended for Chinese students. There is not enough seating and no Chinese service.

The place is cute, small, and unpretentious, which I loved! The food, however, had a strong MSG taste, a metallic flavor. I'm well aware that Chinese food often contains MSG, and I find it delicious... but there, it was overdone. I wasn't as impressed as many others in the reviews.

I wanted to give the restaurant a chance based on the good reviews, but I won't be returning. My food was carelessly heated in the microwave, a complete no-go for me. The employees were also more preoccupied with their phones than with the customers, despite generous tips. Unfortunately, I can't understand the good reviews.

Great food. I had the spicy dumplings and the noodles in peanut sauce. They're both quite spicy, but they were super tasty. There's not much to say about the service; you order and pay at the counter and get your own cutlery and drinks from the fridge. The place is a bit small, and there are only a few seats available.

Tasty, authentic, flavorful, fresh. Nothing on the menu has failed me so far. Caution, the ‘extremely spicy’ is indeed super spicy, not tailored. Ive learned my lesson lol

The taste was really delicious. It had a good level of spice. Not too much, not too little. The portion size was also reasonable for the price. I would go back anytime. It's not exactly the prettiest place, but the focus is definitely on the flavor!

A very popular spot, so better get there early :-) there isn't much space and we had to wait a bit for our food. The price-performance ratio is great. The potato dumplings were delicious. The marinated noodles had a good flavor profile (salty sweet spicy). Unfortunately, the spicy noodle soup was a bit salty.

First time I really experienced sichuan pepper. The marinated noodles were great!

Really good food! I really like sitting there too; it's a snack bar atmosphere, of course, but it just fits perfectly. The friendliness of the man at the cash register was just okay, I'd say, but the food is what matters.

Ein Ziel meiner mehrtägigen Hamburger Reise bestand darin, möglichst viele asiatische Lokale im Schanzenviertel und näherer Umgebung zu besuchen. Dieses hier war mein Highlight und hat mich dazu bewegt, einen Tag länger zu bleiben, damit ich dort noch einmal essen kann. Das Lokal ist super klein, weshalb es eher mit Glück zu tun hat, dort einen Tisch zu bekommen. Versucht es trotzdem!! Die Küche ist sowohl, was Gewürze angeht, aber auch in punkto Schärfe, sehr authentisch. Obwohl der Charakter des Lokals eher an den einer Imbissbude erinnert, sind alle Mitarbeiter sehr zuvorkommend, serviceorientiert und Wissen genau, was sie tun. Beeindruckend.

We were there a few minutes before opening - lucky, because places are limited and very popular. Rightly so! :) I can't remember the last time I had such a good meal out. The food is fresh, perfectly seasoned, great value for money, it's super quick and the atmosphere is just totally pleasant. If I lived in Hamburg, I would definitely be a regular guest.

OMG this is delicious!! Everything! You should bring your time as there are only a few places and you may have to wait in front of the door. Be sure to try the soup with silken tofu and yuba!!

Was really great. Quick, inexpensive lunch. Authentic cuisine and incredibly intense taste. We only realized afterwards that it was vegan. We would recommend it and come back. 100% vegan Szechuan cuisine. Small shop, with few seating options, but still worth a visit. Food is good and correspondingly spicy. Non-spicy options are probably also possible.

The shop is quite small, there is little seating but the food is simply 10/10 We would go back at any time. Our questions about spiciness were also answered well so that each of us was able to order an appropriate level of spiciness for our food. I could indulge in the sweet and spicy udon noodles! Something different for vegans - I like the food there so much that I go there almost every week. Music is good there too, the only negative point: Unfortunately the store is very small and therefore sometimes there are no seats available or you have to squeeze into the queue.

We were at the cathedral when some friends suggested we go to this nice little Japanese restaurant for dinner. This place was a bit hidden and I can honestly say it was a "hidden treasure". "Cai Kitchen" is a very small and unassuming place, but the food there was absolutely delicious... The "Dan Dan" noodles, "Udon" and the "Vegetable Dumplings" were all fantastic and the spiciness level was also impressive. And even though the selection is only "vegan", you don't miss the meat. I would definitely come here again.

Love the food here. All vegan menu, really well seasoned plates (aka really spicy for some) and for a good deal. Already one of my favorite places in town.

Fantastic food. Very authentic and super seasoned and completely vegan! To be honest, I can't understand some of the reviews. The portions are small, but not that expensive and of very good quality. I always like to come to be inspired, not to binge. With most things you end up with too much sauce. If you want, you can simply order a portion of rice and get your fill cheaper than at other restaurants. The kitchen is run by one, maximum two people and is super sweet and nice. I think it's great that it's still a tiny shop and not a restaurant chain. Of course, you won't notice all of this if you just order.

Vegan-chinesische Küche in einem süßen, sehr kleinen Restaurant. Die Gerichte sind überwiegend scharf aber super lecker. Ich hatte die Udon-Nudeln in süß-scharfer Sauce und mein Bruder die extra scharfen Nudeln (die aren auch scharf!). Definitiv einen Besuch wert :-)

Nach einem recht anstrengenden Vormittag mit viel Gerenne durch Hamburg hatte ich Lust auf gutes Essen in entspannter Atmosphäre. Eigentlich Omnivore, fiel mir beim googlen guter Lunchmöglichkeiten dieses kleine Restaurant auf. Freundliche Atmosphäre, Publikum so zwischen Mitte 20 und Mitte 40, der Großteil wohl in der Mittagspause. Entschieden habe ich mich für die Nudeln in Juxiang Soße. Darin: lange, gelbliche spaghettiartige Nudeln, gedünsteter Rotkohl, gestiftete Gurke, mariniertes Soyahack. Köstlich die Soße und Mariane, die das ganze zu einer Leckeren und frischen Mittagsbowl vereint, by accident vegan. Beim nächsten Mal wieder! Gericht: 10€ Fritz-Cola: 3€ Kartenzahlung ab 15€

Beste Udon Nudeln, die ich je gegessen habe, ich glaube die sind nur in Sichuan authentischer! Wirklich eine Geschmacksexplosion. Aber auch alle anderen Gerichte performen übermäßig gut und sorgen für Umami Geschmack - und alles vegan! Auch die Gemüsedumplings probieren :D

Super leckeres Essen! Der Laden ist klein aber man kann die Köche beim Kochen beobachten, was total cool ist. Die Hocker sind etwas unbequem aber ich denke, größere Sitzmöglichkeiten, würden den Laden nur unnötig beladen. Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder und können es jedem wärmstens empfehlen. I went there with my friend for diner and while we had to wait for sometime for a table to clear for space, the vegetarian food compensated for the waiting time. Very delicious food. Small place, but it's worth it for those who want to just eat and go about their business.

Super lecker. Die Nudeln nach Dan Dan Art sind unbeschreiblich! Auch die Dumplings sind überragend. Könnte da jeden Tag essen. Wäre nur schön, wenn der Laden abends länger geöffnet hätte! Und Bestellung geht nur bei Lieferando, obwohl Wolt und Uber Eats viel zuverlässiger sind.

Endlich authentische Szechuan-Gerichte in Hamburg!

Ein sehr schönes, kleines Restaurant! Das Essen ist nicht zu teuer und sehr lecker, es gibt nicht viele Plätze, aber man kann auch ganz gut dort sitzen, sonst auch sehr gut zum mitnehmen.

Kleines Lokal in einem schnuckeligen Haus. Immer voll mit Leuten aus dem Viertel und der nahen Werbeagentur. Die wissen alle, was sie bestellen, Heimspiel. Wir wurden leider weder begrüßt noch beraten. Es lief sehr laut Techno, so dass die Stimmung irgendwo zwischen hangover auf der Fusion und Berliner Punk der 80er war. Nach einer Nachtschicht im Krankenhaus etwas anstrengend. Ein Essen war sehr lecker, eins komplett durch Sojasauce versalzen. Allerdings war die mies gelaunte Dame hinterm Tresen auch alleine.

Ich habe hier erst letztens bestellt und war begeistert, wie lecker es war. Ich hatte die marinierten Nudeln in Yuxiang Soße, ein veganes Gericht, dass so deftig und geschmacksintensiv war - absolut zu empfehlen!

请各位在汉堡的华人同胞当心这家店。虽然打着四川美食的旗号但是对待中国人极其不友好甚至连中文都不想跟你讲，态度极其恶劣。

Ich habe heute zum ersten Mal im CAI Kitchen die Dan Dan Nudeln und Rice Bowl geholt. Meeeega lecker! Und alles sehr frisch. Die Nudeln sind der Hammer!!! Komme auf jeden Fall wieder ...

Der Laden ist ganz klein und die Speisen werden frisch zubereitet. Es gibt eine dauerhafte Karte und ein Tagesgericht. Sehr gut, den Schärfegrad aber beachten. Sehr gutes Essen, nur zu empfehlen!
