BUTZ - Hotel & Restaurant in Scharbeutz

We spent a weekend there and can only recommend it. It may be located in a small village, but it has its charm. We had breakfast included, which offered a delicious selection of savory and sweet treats. Those who wanted could also have scrambled eggs. We can only recommend it. Thank you to the entire team for the wonderful stay.

We received an extremely friendly welcome as cycling tourists. The hotel room was very good value for money. The dinner was absolutely delicious! The starter, main course, and dessert were all excellent. I haven't eaten this well in a long time. The steak was really tender and delicious. The breakfast was also of very good quality. All the service staff were very friendly and attentive. We will definitely be back.

A wonderfully quiet restaurant with a magical ambiance. A birthday party with 27 guests was a real treat, thanks to the excellent and impeccable service and the fantastic buffet. The children were also well catered for, so the celebration seemed endless.

Beautiful traditional and idyllic half-timbered brick house in a very quiet little village near the coast.

Very delicious food. Different combinations, worth it! The gratinated goat cheese is recommended as a starter! Also the coconut and ginger soup. Good and friendly service! High prices, but worth it for the truly unique dishes!

The Hotel Butz is a small, clean, and quiet hotel with attentive staff. The breakfast and dinner were very good. Since the hotel is not directly on the Baltic Sea beach, but a few kilometers away, this should be taken into account when planning your trip. Overall, however, it is absolutely recommended.

After successfully celebrating our wedding at the Butz in 2023 (superbly organized), we return here every year for a few days on our wedding anniversary. It's like coming home and offers us so much relaxation. We are always delighted with the rooms, the food, and the friendliness and competence of the staff. Unfortunately, it didn't meet our expectations. We were looking forward to our stay at the Hotel Butz, but were sadly disappointed. The room hadn't been thoroughly cleaned upon our arrival – there were noticeable deposits of dust, especially in the bedroom and on the bed. The floor was also covered in dust and hair, presumably from a dog's previous stay – which was particularly unpleasant with a small child. The room and the sofa smelled strongly of wet dog and seemed to have been designed as a place to sleep for our 2-year-old daughter – completely unsuitable and unhygienic. Although we had mentioned our daughter when booking, there was no bed prepared, nor was it clear how her sleeping arrangements were intended. For €10 per day, we ended up getting a crib with bedding – this additional effort and cost should have been communicated transparently in advance. The bathroom offered barely any storage space and no place to hang towels – very impractical for everyday use. The kitchenette was also poorly equipped, lacking, among other things, sufficient cutlery. Surprisingly and unpleasantly, there were still old food items in the kitchen cupboard – it seemed anything but well-maintained. The hotel's restaurant deserves special mention, however: It offers a very cozy atmosphere. The breakfast was appealing, fresh, and delicious, and the service in the restaurant was always friendly and attentive – we truly enjoyed it. Conclusion: While the service and breakfast were impressive, the condition and furnishings of the room did not meet our expectations – there is clearly room for improvement, particularly in terms of cleanliness and family-friendliness.

I can't rate the hotel, but we were guests in the restaurant for the first time. Lovely ambiance, very friendly service, and delicious food—definitely worth a visit.

We ate there twice last week. Whether salad, fish, or meat, the meals were very well prepared and well-balanced. The servers were very attentive and courteous. The interior ambiance is rustic. We look forward to the next time. Thank you very much.

We were there two weeks ago with four people, pre-ordering. A tiered stand was placed on the table, with the note that it could be remade, but the staff was lacking, and they could have constantly reordered. We had to wait a long time for everything, and the tables inside are so small that there's no room for a second tiered stand. A tiered stand for four people, three scrambled eggs, one fried egg, and two pots of coffee comes to €92.50. What a rip-off, it's insane! So if you want to burn money... I can recommend everyone to have breakfast there with four people. Never, never again. But luckily, word has already spread!

Absolutely fantastic restaurant. We had breakfast here this time; it was absolutely delicious, with a great selection and good value for money!

Unfortunately, Google doesn't allow separate reviews of the restaurant and accommodation. We ate here and only used the outdoor area, which is located on a very quiet street across from a small fire pond. Everything is very quiet, quaint, and beautifully done. The service was attentive. The food was okay. Everything arrived promptly and correctly. The cod was slightly overcooked, which shouldn't happen with an expensive dish costing €28.90.

We had breakfast there. It was very good, with very friendly service. Plenty of coffee, delicious bread and rolls. A generous selection of cold cuts, and eggs prepared fresh to order.

We had dinner here for our 20th wedding anniversary. The ambiance is wonderful, the food excellent, and the wine very pleasant.

Everything was top shelf here. The food was great and the staff was happy and smiling. The room was comfortable and functional. They have a bike cage so I knew my bike was safe. Great breakfast too. Headed for Lubeck, stay here.

I haven't experienced such friendly service in a long time. The atmosphere outside was great, and the food, especially the super delicious mushroom sauce, was delicious. Highly recommended.

It was an oversight that I had clicked on 'date' when making the reservation, even though we were only going out to dinner as a group of three – just a meal with friends. It's a shame, because we've never seen such a lovingly arranged table anywhere else! After the oversight was cleared up, there was naturally a lot of laughter, especially because we'd spent a lot of time beforehand thinking about how a date with three people would go! The food was, as always, top-notch! This is how a real date should go! Many thanks to the attentive staff for this kind gesture. See you next time...

Highly recommended for walking the dog. A car is essential for shopping or going to the beach. Very quiet and tasteful location. The accommodation itself unfortunately closes at 9 p.m. The accommodation, from what I can judge, was clean but the bathroom and kitchen were showing their age. The kitchen in the living room was oversized, the bathroom had no windows, no shelves, and no hooks at all, and the shower was problematic. There was no closet in the entire apartment, just two chests of drawers - far too small for four people. The apartment is advertised as being for four people, but two have to sleep on an uncomfortable sofa bed in the living room. If you are traveling as a family with small children, it might work, but not for four adults for longer than a weekend. In my opinion, the price is too high for that. Breakfast can be booked and is slightly discounted for hotel guests. It was okay but unfortunately nothing special and there is a difference between the breakfast served as a carte and the menu. Every extra is added on—so, unfortunately, there's nothing more than filter coffee, tea, or one or two glasses of juice, a choice of egg, and miniature rolls. The same thing happened again on the second day. We were only there for the weekend, so it was perfectly adequate—but it wouldn't be my choice for a longer stay. But the staff were very friendly!

I celebrated my 40th birthday here with my family and was completely satisfied. We enjoyed the rich breakfast and had a great time. We didn't lack anything. Super friendly service :-) I'd love to come back.

Hello - that's all it takes 🔝 that makes me feel welcome straight away - from the welcome to the always present but never fake or intrusive service and the simply wonderfully pleasant recommendation of the daily menu (no reciting by heart but always individually at each table 🔝) to the rooms and the loving and delicious breakfast - rarely have I received such a perfectly cooked soft egg 👍👍👍. And then the short way to the Baltic Sea. Everything worked out, thank you very much 😊

Were there to eat: good food, great service, we found the P/L to be okay. The greeting from the kitchen didn't convince us, but the service even more so. We would come again.

Butz is simply a top address. The food is always delicious, no matter what you order. And the service is simply impeccable; they know exactly what's required. If you're lucky (or unlucky 🤣), you'll run into acquaintances and friends there.

We stayed in Butz for 4 days in March. Room was very well maintained and very modern. The service was ALWAYS courteous and without any problems. Breakfast was available for €14 per person. Book in addition, there was plenty of coffee and an egg dish as well as various types of sausage and cheese as well as spreads. 5 minutes by car to Scharbeutz, 15 minutes by bike, which you can book directly to the hotel location (we had brochures about it in our room). Gladly again!

We felt very comfortable. The food was absolutely wonderful! The service was also very attentive. We haven't had such a well-selected Riesling in a long time. We would love to come back! Siegfried and Sabine Today we found the Butz Hotel & Restaurant in Klingberg near Scharbeutz by chance and had lunch. We had ordered a fish dish and were served friendly service; the food was plentiful and of the best quality. We can recommend this restaurant!!!

Nachdem ich das Butz online entdeckt und (intern) empfohlen hatte haben wir uns zu einem Besuch dort mit Freunden entschlossen. Schon die Reservierung scheiterte, weil es einen Tisch ausschließlich 17:30h oder 19:30h gibt, was beides nicht paßte. Flexibel wie eine Bahnschwelle, auch dass die Freunde extra aus HH anreisen interessiert den Herrn am Telefon nicht. Gerne geben wir das Geld woanders aus ;)

The restaurant is absolutely recommended! We were there in September with a larger group and everyone loved it. The food, service and location were great. I can particularly recommend the rump steak with a mustard and pepper crust, this is definitely one of the best steaks I have eaten so far.

Recently, on a wonderful midday, I stopped at Butz zu Schürsdorf near Scharbeutz. As soon as I entered the rustic restaurant, I noticed the bustling, yet inviting atmosphere. The old staircase with its worn steps certainly told many a story about the many guests who have come and gone here. The service was quick and attentive - as soon as we were seated, the drinks were served and the food we ordered followed quickly. My guest chose the Tafelspitz, a generous portion with plenty of sauce. I chose the original Wiener Schnitzel, which was also well prepared. However, the fried potatoes could have been a little crispier, and the cucumber salad would have tasted even better with a little more acid and salt. Despite my high expectations, overall it was a solid and tasty meal. The food is plentiful, tasty and well prepared, and the service is friendly and attentive. You could only be a little bolder when it comes to seasoning - but that is of course a question of personal taste. Next time I visit I might give it a fifth star. Compared to equivalent German restaurants, there is still room for improvement. But this is meant in an absolutely benevolent and positive way, as all the invited guests really enjoyed it.

Yes, highly recommended! The food was excellent. It's also worth traveling further to eat there. I would like to recommend Diligence for Christmas. Whether it's Christmas Eve for brunch or to pick up a duck or goose with accessories

Delicious food in a cozy atmosphere

Our suite was well equipped. Unfortunately we had a strong smell of drains coming from the shower in the bathroom. The hotel has to do something here. The extremely soft couch was stained. Unfortunately there was no wood for the fireplace. The breakfast and dinner were very good. The service gets 120%. The location is OK. Kind regards Andrew

Wir haben das Restaurant vor zwei Wochen entdeckt und waren schon von dem Ambiente beeindruckt. Das Personal vorallem die freundliche Dame bei der Bedienung aber das Essen hat uns dann vollkommen von diesem Restaurant überzeugt. Einen kleinen Kritikpunkt habe ich, ich musste unsere Tisch Reservierung ändern aber der Heer am Telefon war sehr unkonzentriert ich musste alles drei mal Erklären aber kein Wunder wenn zwischendurch mit den Gästen geredet wird , was ich persönlich sehr unhöflich fand . Aber das ändert nichts an dem tollen Restaurant. Wir kommen wieder.

Freundlich zugewandtes, waches Servicepersonal, das wiederholt den Tisch besucht, Bestellungen aufnimmt, nach Zufriedenheit und weiteren Wünschen fragt. Gemütliche Atmosphäre in den kleinen Stuben. Kleine Speisekarte mit ausgewählten Gerichten, die jedes Thema (Fleisch - Fisch - Vegetarisch) abdecken. Leckeres Essen, ausdrucksvoll präsentiert.

We had planned a surprise 90th birthday party in December. The meal planning and other arrangements were so relaxed and exactly in line with our wishes that we had no doubts that the surprise would be a success. But after the anniversary person was just happy and the international guests almost didn't want to leave, we knew that we couldn't have chosen a better place with a nicer and more competent crew. We can only give our recommendation and thank you again!

Das Essen ist wirklich sehr schmackhaft und das betrifft alle Gerichte. Ob es ein Rumsteak, Hirsch mit Kürbis-Kartoffelstampf oder Fisch mit Grünkohl war - einfach hervorragend und uneingeschränkt zu empfehlen. Die Bedienung ist sehr aufmerksam und freundlich. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt und konnten genießen. Wir kommen selbstverständlich gerne wieder.
