It was an oversight that I had clicked on 'date' when making the reservation, even though we were only going out to dinner as a group of three – just a meal with friends. It's a shame, because we've never seen such a lovingly arranged table anywhere else! After the oversight was cleared up, there was naturally a lot of laughter, especially because we'd spent a lot of time beforehand thinking about how a date with three people would go! The food was, as always, top-notch! This is how a real date should go! Many thanks to the attentive staff for this kind gesture. See you next time...

Highly recommended for walking the dog. A car is essential for shopping or going to the beach. Very quiet and tasteful location. The accommodation itself unfortunately closes at 9 p.m. The accommodation, from what I can judge, was clean but the bathroom and kitchen were showing their age. The kitchen in the living room was oversized, the bathroom had no windows, no shelves, and no hooks at all, and the shower was problematic. There was no closet in the entire apartment, just two chests of drawers - far too small for four people. The apartment is advertised as being for four people, but two have to sleep on an uncomfortable sofa bed in the living room. If you are traveling as a family with small children, it might work, but not for four adults for longer than a weekend. In my opinion, the price is too high for that. Breakfast can be booked and is slightly discounted for hotel guests. It was okay but unfortunately nothing special and there is a difference between the breakfast served as a carte and the menu. Every extra is added on—so, unfortunately, there's nothing more than filter coffee, tea, or one or two glasses of juice, a choice of egg, and miniature rolls. The same thing happened again on the second day. We were only there for the weekend, so it was perfectly adequate—but it wouldn't be my choice for a longer stay. But the staff were very friendly!

Since I only know the restaurant, I can only review it. Highly recommended! Beautiful location, cozy interiors, large outdoor terrace. Great service, very good food and drink selection. We love eating here. Whether it's breakfast, a family celebration, or just the two of us. Simply top-notch.

I celebrated my 40th birthday here with my family and was completely satisfied. We enjoyed the rich breakfast and had a great time. We didn't lack anything. Super friendly service :-) I'd love to come back.

Hello - that's all it takes 🔝 that makes me feel welcome straight away - from the welcome to the always present but never fake or intrusive service and the simply wonderfully pleasant recommendation of the daily menu (no reciting by heart but always individually at each table 🔝) to the rooms and the loving and delicious breakfast - rarely have I received such a perfectly cooked soft egg 👍👍👍. And then the short way to the Baltic Sea. Everything worked out, thank you very much 😊

Were there to eat: good food, great service, we found the P/L to be okay. The greeting from the kitchen didn't convince us, but the service even more so. We would come again.

Butz is simply a top address. The food is always delicious, no matter what you order. And the service is simply impeccable; they know exactly what's required. If you're lucky (or unlucky 🤣), you'll run into acquaintances and friends there.

Great breakfast, very friendly and attentive staff!

We stayed in Butz for 4 days in March. Room was very well maintained and very modern. The service was ALWAYS courteous and without any problems. Breakfast was available for €14 per person. Book in addition, there was plenty of coffee and an egg dish as well as various types of sausage and cheese as well as spreads. 5 minutes by car to Scharbeutz, 15 minutes by bike, which you can book directly to the hotel location (we had brochures about it in our room). Gladly again!

Many thanks to the team at Butz. We celebrated my birthday there this week. We received a very warm welcome and were allowed to sit in a separate area. The decor is very tasteful and harmonious. We felt very comfortable. The food was absolutely wonderful! The service was also very attentive. We haven't had such a well-selected Riesling in a long time. We would love to come back! Siegfried and Sabine Today we found the Butz Hotel & Restaurant in Klingberg near Scharbeutz by chance and had lunch. We had ordered a fish dish and were served friendly service; the food was plentiful and of the best quality. We can recommend this restaurant!!!

Nachdem ich das Butz online entdeckt und (intern) empfohlen hatte haben wir uns zu einem Besuch dort mit Freunden entschlossen. Schon die Reservierung scheiterte, weil es einen Tisch ausschließlich 17:30h oder 19:30h gibt, was beides nicht paßte. Flexibel wie eine Bahnschwelle, auch dass die Freunde extra aus HH anreisen interessiert den Herrn am Telefon nicht. Gerne geben wir das Geld woanders aus ;)

The restaurant is absolutely recommended! We were there in September with a larger group and everyone loved it. The food, service and location were great. I can particularly recommend the rump steak with a mustard and pepper crust, this is definitely one of the best steaks I have eaten so far.

Recently, on a wonderful midday, I stopped at Butz zu Schürsdorf near Scharbeutz. As soon as I entered the rustic restaurant, I noticed the bustling, yet inviting atmosphere. The old staircase with its worn steps certainly told many a story about the many guests who have come and gone here. The service was quick and attentive - as soon as we were seated, the drinks were served and the food we ordered followed quickly. My guest chose the Tafelspitz, a generous portion with plenty of sauce. I chose the original Wiener Schnitzel, which was also well prepared. However, the fried potatoes could have been a little crispier, and the cucumber salad would have tasted even better with a little more acid and salt. Despite my high expectations, overall it was a solid and tasty meal. The food is plentiful, tasty and well prepared, and the service is friendly and attentive. You could only be a little bolder when it comes to seasoning - but that is of course a question of personal taste. Next time I visit I might give it a fifth star. Compared to equivalent German restaurants, there is still room for improvement. But this is meant in an absolutely benevolent and positive way, as all the invited guests really enjoyed it.

Delicious food in a cozy atmosphere

Our suite was well equipped. Unfortunately we had a strong smell of drains coming from the shower in the bathroom. The hotel has to do something here. The extremely soft couch was stained. Unfortunately there was no wood for the fireplace. The breakfast and dinner were very good. The service gets 120%. The location is OK. Kind regards Andrew

Wir haben das Restaurant vor zwei Wochen entdeckt und waren schon von dem Ambiente beeindruckt. Das Personal vorallem die freundliche Dame bei der Bedienung aber das Essen hat uns dann vollkommen von diesem Restaurant überzeugt. Einen kleinen Kritikpunkt habe ich, ich musste unsere Tisch Reservierung ändern aber der Heer am Telefon war sehr unkonzentriert ich musste alles drei mal Erklären aber kein Wunder wenn zwischendurch mit den Gästen geredet wird , was ich persönlich sehr unhöflich fand . Aber das ändert nichts an dem tollen Restaurant. Wir kommen wieder.

Freundlich zugewandtes, waches Servicepersonal, das wiederholt den Tisch besucht, Bestellungen aufnimmt, nach Zufriedenheit und weiteren Wünschen fragt. Gemütliche Atmosphäre in den kleinen Stuben. Kleine Speisekarte mit ausgewählten Gerichten, die jedes Thema (Fleisch - Fisch - Vegetarisch) abdecken. Leckeres Essen, ausdrucksvoll präsentiert.

A restaurant to feel absolutely comfortable. The ambience, service and of course the cuisine are top notch. A great place for a culinary trip to the village. I'll be back!

We had planned a surprise 90th birthday party in December. The meal planning and other arrangements were so relaxed and exactly in line with our wishes that we had no doubts that the surprise would be a success. But after the anniversary person was just happy and the international guests almost didn't want to leave, we knew that we couldn't have chosen a better place with a nicer and more competent crew. We can only give our recommendation and thank you again!

Das erste mal hier gewesen und es war absolut traumhaft. Das Essen war von der Vorspeise bis zum Dessert perfekt. Die Bedienung war sehr herzlich und sympathisch, das Ambiente ist romantisch und gemütlich, so das man sich direkt wohl fühlt ( unser Hund auch :) )Wir werden definitiv wiederkommen.

Das Essen ist wirklich sehr schmackhaft und das betrifft alle Gerichte. Ob es ein Rumsteak, Hirsch mit Kürbis-Kartoffelstampf oder Fisch mit Grünkohl war - einfach hervorragend und uneingeschränkt zu empfehlen. Die Bedienung ist sehr aufmerksam und freundlich. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt und konnten genießen. Wir kommen selbstverständlich gerne wieder.

Sehr leckere deutsche Küche und man schmeckt, dass alles sehr gute Komponenten enthält. Schönes Ambiente mit mehreren kleinen Räumen, daher ist der Geräuschpegel auch nicht hoch. Kommen sehr gerne wieder!

Wir gehen gerne ins „Butz“. Das Essen war wieder sehr gut. Der Service war gut und wir haben uns wohlgefühlt.

Yesterday evening I visited the BUTZ restaurant with my husband on the occasion of our wedding anniversary. I've had breakfast there several times and have always been impressed. We were shown to our table by a "waiter". While we were still "fighting" with our jackets, the waiter slammed two cards on the table and left without a word. We found that very strange. The table was beautifully set and decorated for the anniversary, which made us very happy. The waiter remained reserved and cool throughout our meal. No kind word, no smile, he made you feel unwelcome. We had the kale twice, once classic, once with zander fillet. Unfortunately, it was very overcooked. If requested, the classic portion included 2x cabbage sausage and 1 piece of smoked pork. The piece of Kasseler was extremely small. Kale and fried potatoes were delicious. The dessert selection for dessert (pancakes, ice cream, crème brulee, chocolate panacotta and cherries were carelessly presented. The pancake was cold and, in my opinion, not freshly prepared. After the payment process, the aforementioned waiter disappeared without a word or greeting. Conclusion: The price-performance ratio was not right for this dinner! The waiter's cold demeanor made it difficult to really feel comfortable! I thought that was a shame!

As always, our visit to Butz was heavenly. The serving of great honnest traditional disches, good ingredients feels like a gift, the atmosphere is so cosy and warm. The members of staf are extremzly friendly and helpfull. This is a must-visit if you late looking for a fabulous dinner experience in the area. Sandra & Wouter

Es war ein schöner Abend mit einem Geschäftspartner . Es wurde drauf eingegangen und ein Tisch angeboten , an dem man etwas ungestört war. Das Ambiente ist sehr gut, Personal sehr zuvorkommend und dezent. Speisen Auswahl ist sehr gut und die Qualität des Essen ist im absolut oberen Bereich angesiedelt Geschmackliche sehr gut. Cozy atmosphere. False friendliness of the staff. Disrespectful reaching across the table while entertaining yourself. No “thank you” with a more than reasonable tip. Nothing special in terms of taste!

Wir sind bereits häufiger bei „Butz“ zu Gast gewesen. Das Essen war wieder sehr gut. Leider war der Servicekraft anzumerken, dass sie heute keinen guten Tag hatte.

Ich hatte für einen Samstagabend einen 3er Tisch reserviert und war bei meiner Ankunft etwas etwas irritiert. Im Vorraum standen 2 größere Gästegruppe, offensichtlich nicht begrüßt oder in irgendeiner Form vom Personal beachtet. Es wurde dann nach einigen Minuten nachgefragt, wer zu welcher Gruppe gehört, und ich bekam dann gottlob meinen reservierten Tisch zugewiesen. Es war an diesem Tisch ausgesprochen zugig, so dass wir nach kurzer Zeit unsere Outdoor-Jacken wieder anzogen. Als Amuse Gueule wurde Weißbrot mit einem Quarkdip gereicht, der mir zu sauer sauer war. Mein Aperitif, ein Secco Berry (4.90 €) war nicht nur optisch ein guter Einstieg. Als Vorspeise entschied ich mich für das Manzo Tonnato (16,90 €) eine Art Vitello Tonnato, geschmacklich gut, aber mit sehr knapp bemessene Thunfischsauce. Für den Hauptgang entschied ich mich für Pfifferlinge in Rahm (?) und Kartoffelpüree. Das Püree kann unerwähnt bleiben; die Pfifferlinge hingegen wurden in einer kompakten, mehligen und geschmacksneutralen Sauce serviert. Nur leicht angebraten wären sie mir willkommener gewesen. Meine Begleitung hatte sich für Wiener Schnitzel bzw. Tafelspitz entschieden und war offensichtlich zufrieden. Zu den drei Hauptspeisen wurde je ein gemischter Salat serviert. Statt eines Dessert hätten wir gerne eine Käseplatten bestellt, was die Karte aber auch auf Nachfrage nicht hergab, so dass wir darauf verzichteten. Mein Gl. Mezzogiorno Primitivo (7,30 €) war gut temperiert und sehr vollmundig, und der abschließende Espresso (4,60 € doppelt) heiß und kräftig. Die männliche Bedienung (Nr 13) war aufmerksam und zuvorkommend.

We went for breakfast and the food was very good. The service could have been a little more attentive, sometimes you had to ask several times until what you ordered finally came. Price-wise it's okay.
