The host (Ernst) is a passionate cook, but the food is exceptionally good and delicious! We'll be back.

Small, cozy restaurant. The food looked delicious. The drinks were cold. It's self-service. The house and terrace are showing their age. The owner is over eighty. Nevertheless, he's nice, friendly, and fit. Highly recommended.

We arrived at 2:19 PM and wanted something to eat. There was no one else there, and the owner said the kitchen was still cold. So, unfortunately, I wouldn't recommend it for lunch.

2025/07 It's been 19 years since we've been visiting the Black Forest...and, of course, our dear innkeeper, Ernst Schwörer, is always welcome. Excellent food in a typical local atmosphere. That's a must. Sometimes it's good when nothing changes. 2024 For 18 years now, I've been traveling to the Black Forest with my sweetheart to recharge our batteries. This restaurant reflects everything we associate with the Black Forest, even from our childhood memories: Warmth, authenticity, and all the "good things from the past." We always plan to visit here several times during our vacations here 😍🥰

The restaurant is in a wonderful, quiet location right on the edge of the forest. Ideal for a snack between hikes or bike rides. If you're expecting fancy food, you've come to the wrong place. The friendly, very personable owner has been running the restaurant for 50 years, and in recent years he's done it all by himself. The food is simple, home-style cooking, freshly prepared. We had sausage salad with bread and were all very satisfied. The prices are very reasonable and the portions are generous. Such quaint restaurants are dying out in Germany, and I think we should support such an owner. We'll be back next time we're in Donaueschingen.

Great atmosphere and an absolutely authentic host. You'll need to bring some time, though, as he's 87 years old and runs everything on his own.

Time stopped a little here. But that's exactly what makes it so special in the Burgstüble near the Wutach and Gauchach gorges. Rustic restaurant with a rustic innkeeper 😊 Classic cuisine like it used to be home-made and handmade. The prices are more than fair! Sausage salad, schnitzel with Bräggele or bratwurst, sandwiches, small but delicious. If you come on foot from the valley of the Gauchachschlucht or as a stopping point on a bike tour, it is a nice place to stop and refresh yourself. Locals and tourists meet here. When it's warm, the terrace in front of the house invites you to linger. Hopefully the Burgstüble will last a while with its charm 👍🏻

We were very enthusiastic about the rustic decor and especially the food. What you have to be aware of is that there is only a very small map. The landlord can no longer walk so well and asked us to collect the cutlery and plates from the counter. That was completely fine for us. We ordered schnitzel with fried potatoes for 10 euros. It was incredibly delicious. Originally homemade. No junk from the freezer!! We would love to come back!!

You can sit outside in the middle of nature. The landlord is an older man who does everything alone. Makes a super good schnitzel for €7. The salad is also great.

Always cozy and more than impressive to see how passionately and almost alone the gastronomy is run here and the large courtyard is still kept in order. Seriousness just can't help it.

It's worth driving from the Three Gorges Hike parking lot to the Bergstüble and starting from there. The landlord is quaint and very nice. The food is also recommended for a simple Swabian economy. Since the innkeeper prepares and serves everything himself with a lot of love, you should be patient. It's good to slow down a bit and enjoy the peace and quiet and the place.

Everything was great, the food was great, the prices were very affordable and the portions were great! You have to wait a bit! But you can sit outside and having your dog on a leash isn't a problem either! Gladly again

The best schnitzels in an original atmosphere!!!!

Schnitzel with bread. Get stale bread. Schnitzel wasn't a hit either.

This is our second time here and, as always, we received a warm welcome. A quaint house that suits this beautiful place. The hiking trails here are also beautiful.

Actually full marks... but if the old boss is alone in the store you should limit yourself to drinking drinks. There should be more staff here on a sunny bridge day. I'm looking forward to the next time with the daughter of the house at the counter. Best regards

Good schnitzel, reasonable prices, friendly service, cozy covered outdoor terrace. Gladly again and again :o)

The specialty is onion schnitzel Brägele and salad (only available there) and a must on the side.

Ein sehr netter älterer Wirt - echter Schwarzwälder, kocht, bedient, schenkt aus und unterhält auch noch die Gäste. Ein uriges Ambiente und das Essen sehr sehr lecker! Echte Hausmannskost! Super!

Einfache Wirtschaft zur Stärkung am Wanderweg. Der Wirt ist und bleibt ein echtes Wälder Original. Mit seinen 85 Jahren bewältigt er kochen, bedienen und Schwätzle sicher nicht mehr so leicht wie früher.

Mir ist egal, wie der Herr ausschaut, wie alt dieses Burgstübel ist. Es war wunderschön zum entspannen, der wirt war liebenswert und die Sahne auf dem Cappuccino war soooo lecker, Ansprüche sind sehr unterschiedlich, ich bin sehr gern dort eingekehrt!

Urig, wie damals. Hier gehts noch entspannt zu, nicht so hektisch wie sonst. Der Chef (ein Orginal) kocht noch selbst, zünftig und rustikal und einfach. Sehr lecker. Danach ist man schön entschleunigt und sieht die Welt wieder etwas gelassener!

Waren am Montag gegen 13:30 h dort (das Lokal öffnet eigentlich erst um 17 h) und haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Die Einrichtung ist im Wesentlichen unverändert seit Mitte der Siebziger. Die Theke hat schon über 70 Jahre auf dem Buckel. Die Gulaschsuppe war spitze. Bezahlt haben wir 11 € mit Getränken. Die Unterhaltung mit dem Wirt war sehr angenehm. Das Tschüss war fast schon herzlich nach einer Stunde Aufenthalt. Das Burgstüble ist in jeder Hinsicht einen Besuch wert.

Das Schnitzel mit Zwiebeln war wirklich sehr lecker kann ich aufjedenfall empfehlen. Der Gastwirt wirkte erst ein wenig "grimmig" der Schein trügt! Ist ein wirklich herzensguter Mensch. Immer wieder gerne.

Als Wanderer wurden wir ganz toll bedient! Mein Sohn bekam sein Eis und wir eine super Wegbeschreibung. Vielen Dank an die Wirtin vom Sonntag Mittag, dem 19. Juli 2020! Nächstes mal kehren wir hier definitiv ein.

Unfreundlich am Telefon, Zum essen kann ich wenig sagen, wollte für unsere Wandergruppe Plätze reservieren. Als ich anrief verstand er mich schlecht und meinte "etwas flotter er hat wenig Zeit", dann hat er wohl eine Gruppe mit 20 Personen nicht nötig

Mega entspannte und fröhliche Bedienung. Der "Opa" agiert hier noch selbst und hat richtig Spaß bei der Arbeit, was man in der köstlichen Zubereitung der Speisen genießen konnte. Auch ein Plausch war jederzeit möglich, ebenso Empfehlungen von Wanderungen und Co.

Mitten in der Pampa findet man eine kleine, na ja, Wirtschaft ist zuviel gesagt. Bei uns heißt das Straussi. Leckerer Salat, Schnitzel, Bauernwürste und andere Kleinigkeiten. Einfach, ehrlich, gut. Ohne Google hätten wir es nie entdeckt. Ein lohnenswerter Zwischenstop vom Bodensee nach Freiburg.
