Really not good. At the street party, where you could actually earn really well, we were simply not served for 30 minutes, let alone paid attention to. We spoke to 2 waiters, neither of whom felt responsible. A third that was supposed to be sent then never arrived. Then left after 40 minutes. We were two men. Unfortunately not the first time. About 1 year ago, we and 6 neighbors weren't served either. I hate to write bad things... but unfortunately it really doesn't work that way. I think they scare away a lot of customers.

The daily menu was poorly described and also tasted bad...potatoes were identically spherical and one like the other...so from a jar Chicken schnitzel shouldn't be called that...generally not recommended...!!! It also took quite a long time until the "food" was there... what happens quickly is the question for another drink even though the glass is not yet empty...

In one word: embarrassing. The restaurant itself is very pretty. That's just no use because both service and food were virtually non-existent. We waited there for two hours for our main course until we got tired of it and left frustrated and hungry. During these two hours (!!!) the waitress didn't even come often enough to bring us new drinks, so we sat with empty glasses most of the time. Anyone who wanted to take matters into their own hands and order a new drink at the counter was turned away. You can't order drinks at the counter. The question arises as to why we have a counter at all. It wasn't just us who felt this way with the service. Whenever a table received something edible, sarcastic applause went through the restaurant. If you are looking for a nice evening with good food, please go to another restaurant. We ended our bachelor party at a nearby McDonalds. It wasn't nice there either, but at least you can eat something there. Ridiculous.

Very friendly and attentive service. The outside space would be nice to sit in, BUT the food was a disaster. The schnitzels were dry and some were already burnt.

Where should I start? After 30 minutes we were at least able to order the drinks. After another 15 later the food. The drinks came another 15 minutes. We had to eat 2!!! Wait hours. I'm not talking about the quality of the food. My tip. Avoid!

The service here is unfriendly and you wait in vain for your food. People who arrive long after you get their food much quicker. When the food comes, it's almost cold and some of it just tastes like canned food. The staff also seems very intimidated and don't even want to tell the older blonde lady that they want to pay. The guys do a really great job and are always friendly.

Stopped in for a drink on Friday evening because we had to pass some time. We ordered two "Lemmy" and were looked at questioningly. Okay, we dissolved and ordered two whiskey and cokes. Drink came quickly, a bit thin, but okay. When we wanted to pay, the surprise: 2 whiskey cola came to 16 euros. Guys, seriously? This store won't see us again any time soon.

Nice place. Had a good lunch with a good glass of beer and a delicious Wiener art schnitzel. Friendly and attentive service. In the middle of "old" Rheine, with a parking garage around the corner. Free on the streets on Sundays. Recommended for a visit.

The food tastes even worse than from a can, it was really the worst currywurst I have ever eaten. Drinks are expensive and half filled with ice, which is a disgrace. The service also leaves a lot to be desired, the waitress who served us was the unfriendly person I have ever met. All in all, it was truly the worst restaurant visit ever! Not recommended at all! Please eat somewhere else!

I don't understand some of the reviews here at all. We were at the Roter Hirsch today. Super nice service, the food was great and a lot. Since I am an entrepreneur myself, I always evaluate things from the perspective of an entrepreneur and not from the perspective of a tourist who always wants everything right away and immediately. The catering industry has been struggling massively with a shortage of staff since Corona. It's not like Amazon. Ordered now and delivered straight away. Quality takes time and I like to wait 30 minutes until the food is on the table. After all, you are not the only guest. My conclusion: Waiting for the first drinks: 15 minutes (completely OK) Waiting for the starter: another 5 minutes Waiting for main course: another 10 minutes. All in all, great location, great food, great people, great drinks.

We complained to 2 service staff about the musty and smelly shandy. We were laughed at and not taken seriously in any way. The beer we ordered afterwards wasn't any better. Such a cheeky reaction from the waitresses was very difficult to endure! Never again!!!!! **************************************** Unfortunately, nothing came of never again because a table was reserved by another member of the group as part of a cycling trip. So I was there again on July 27th, 2024. The Red Deer definitely won't get a third chance and I'm surprised it's so crowded there. The food came after more than 80 minutes! It was cold...and the boiled potatoes were still raw, they were so hard. The service person who served us was extremely unfriendly and we were shouted at a lot when we wanted to order a round after no one came to take it! THAT'S IT!!!

The food and the time between starter and main course (over 90 minutes, therefore a big problem in the kitchen) was a disaster. Where are the ready meals sourced from? The service is very nice, but can't handle all the displeasure of the guests. A pity...

A nice location. There were four of us for the “Running Appetite” and we chose our dessert here. A week before we had already decided on 2x beer cocktails and 2x quark with brown bread, cherries and chocolate. After arriving, the waitress came back and told us that the quark was not available. Therefore, one person didn't get a drink and the wait began. When we finished the drinks, we only got one instead of two wheat beers. We pointed it out and the wait began. After a long time we spoke to a waitress again who wanted to send her colleague. And the waiting began. The waitresses ended up drinking more than the guests. I've never experienced that before either. A friend who was apparently a friend got drinks at the table next to us and had extensive small talk. That actually seemed strange and seemed indifferent. And slightly provocative towards us. We then decided to change location. We went to the checkout, paid for one wheat beer (whoosh the wheat beer was ready) and then had a nice evening. The beer cocktail was a success. The ambience was nice. Not all waitresses left an indifferent, unmotivated impression, but a high percentage did. Getting good staff is definitely difficult. There were a lot of waitresses present and in my opinion this could be done quickly and easily. A pity. Could have been really great.

Actually I don't even know where to start. Catastrophe! After we (4) were assigned a table, no one came to our sticky table for ages. After we kindly asked if we could have menus and the table was wiped down when we asked for the cards to be handed out, the disaster continued. The young (approx. 4 seen) temporary workers preferred to chat animatedly with colleagues who were already enjoying their evening at a table than to lend a hand to the only waitress with an orderman. After 35 minutes we actually had our first drink. Short version of the meal: In one dish the potatoes were still raw, in the case of the 2 Wiener Schnitzels the far too thick, soggy breading did not hang on the schnitzel but next to it and the fallen pieces were on top of each other, the veal was not thin and tender but a thick little tough schnitzel almost similar to a Viennese. A really very sad picture. After our complaint, the meal with the potatoes was canceled. An employee from the kitchen danced back into it cheerfully and loudly exclaiming (around 9:30 p.m.): "the kitchen is closed." The lady who brought our bill was the only one who was able to do the billing, and we can't blame her here either. Only if she has to make do without a real cook and without other ambitious staff is she fighting a losing battle. We've had different experiences here and come back several times, but I wouldn't call this place a restaurant anymore. It was our last visit here for a long, long time. A pity

Unfortunately, as a guest you are not taken into account. I can't remember ever experiencing such poor service in a restaurant. The restaurant was moderately busy, but of the at least five employees present, no one felt compelled to place an order. We were only noticed after an employee forcefully stopped us. We then had to wait an hour for a currywurst with fries. An hour and there was nothing going on. Ordering another drink was simply impossible. I don't want to say anything about the quality of the food, what can you go wrong with the deep fryer, bratwurst and fries? So far it was ok. It's good that there are other locations on the market square. In any case, I'll never visit the brewery again!

Nothing works here, you can't be thirsty or hungry anyway, it's best to come at lunchtime, then if you're lucky you'll have a beer and something to eat in the evening. On the evening of July 27th, 2024 I waited 46 minutes for a dark Altbier, the meal, a currywurst in a cardboard box, then took another 52 minutes, something like that doesn't work at all, no one sees me here anymore, especially since Rheine isn't going to be my dream city anyway... unfortunately you can No minus stars given here, the brewery would have earned the full number of stars.

We came in nice weather and sat on the cozy terrace. There was live music which suited us well. Unfortunately it was difficult to order. If you waved to be helped, you only waved back. The beer and wine tasted good.

We tried the breakfast buffet, which is available every Sunday, and we were very impressed. Coffee and sparkling wine included, as well as cold cuts from the Geiger butcher shop in Rheine. Really highly recommended.

We were in the restaurant with a group. First drawback: with a group you get a slimmed down menu. Completely incomprehensible. Maybe to allow the kitchen to send everyone's food out at the same time? No. It took 15 minutes until all 12 men had their food. I would describe the wedding soup more like tea. Selling something like that as food is really cheeky! Despite being told that this soup was very bad with a minimum deposit, it was of course still charged. The main course finally arrived at the table after 1:40 hours. Simply too long when the restaurant is half full! The quality of the main course would have to be described as slightly below average. The fact that half of our group had already looked at the menu beforehand, but their desired meal was not offered due to the size of the group (only at our table!!!) certainly also plays a role here. That doesn't work!!! But the service staff always tried hard!

Nice location in the middle of the Market. Schnitzel not really great but fries very tasty. Drinking bed counting really took too long.

The goulash was really tasty and the house beer is also recommended.

Perfect place for a lunch or dinner. I had a great time with some drinks on the terrace and a dinner afterwards. The staff is really friendly and quick. I'm definitely coming back.

We wanted to eat outside in the wonderful weather. However, the menu was quite manageable (snack bar) and I asked for something special. We were answered that there is a different Sp.Card for guests who want to eat inside. When we asked if we could choose from the other menu outside and then go into the restaurant to eat, the answer was that this would not be welcome, otherwise other guests would treat it that way too. Fried potatoes cold and old Mushroom sauce from a bucket Salad not fresh Conclusion.....not recommended Tip...it's better to go 5 steps further and to the local: real time

Super rich breakfast buffet, very friendly, attentive service

We are a brunch club and have therefore visited many places for breakfast. The buffet selection was good, and there was also a selection of antipasti. I deducted one star because the price for the dishes on offer was still a bit too high for me. For the price we have experienced richer buffets. The service was very nice and we were often asked if everything was okay with us. We would definitely have breakfast there again.

The brewery invites you to relax and unwind on the market square, especially when the weather is nice. The service was very good, with one person running the beer garden alone for a short time. I worked as a waitress in various beer gardens myself and I wouldn't have been able to manage the full place on my own. Hats off to Sonja. Thanks also to the colleagues who joined us later for the nice service. We have filled ourselves very well. The fries and the currywurst were very tasty. We'll definitely be back soon. The house beer is dangerously delicious.

Rheine lacks a bit of upscale cuisine, which the Roter Hirsch doesn't offer either, but the brewery concession with solid Westphalian food and quality is now worth 5 stars to us. We were at the red deer today from around 4 p.m. A single employee (Sonja) managed the entire "beer garden" all by herself, partly supported by "Thekenkraft" - very calmly and confidently. It may have felt like it took a moment longer, but please people. All the greatest respect. We had a lovely afternoon with very nice service. In the course of the afternoon, additional staff were on duty, all of whom were very personable and friendly - including or especially young people. Food and drinks came quicker than we expected. And in my opinion the most important thing in a “Brauhaus”! Delicious beer :-) VG

Instead of 30 minutes, we waited over 90 minutes for the food, which was sometimes wrong and not satisfactory in terms of taste. Service overwhelmed, no service for new drinks Customer service not satisfactory We had the same experience two years ago and gave the Roter Hirsch another chance, unfortunately disappointed again. In addition, the beer had expired for over two months....

It took 1:50 hours from ordering to eating. During this time the service was there for new drinks. The food was lukewarm at best and only half cooked. Bottled beer expired for a good two months. Never again.

Yesterday I had dinner at the Roter Hirsch for the first time in the evening. Since there were 19 of us, there was only a small menu, but that was ok. I ordered a Wiener Schnitzel with potatoes and cucumber salad. The schnitzel was tough, lukewarm and tasteless. The potatoes were cold, sliced ​​and mixed with the cucumber slices. A small lemon wedge was the only decoration on the plate. It seemed like the leftovers from the day before were being processed. Together with a small cyclist, 27 euros is already outrageous. If the food had at least been fresh and tasty, I would have accepted the price. Everyone agreed that we wouldn't be going there again. It's a shame, service and ambience were good.

I'll try to keep it short. The meal was okay. However, a currywurst with fries does not represent a culinary challenge. The mayo was forgotten and added after we were finished. A no-go. The planned beer consumption was limited due to a lack of supplies, as the waitresses were always busy with other things. Unfortunately, the ladies didn't have a trained eye for empty glasses either. So after 4 beers we were gone again. The mood threatened to change among my guests. Maybe you should put a red lamp on the tables that you can turn on to signal the need for service. There is clearly room for improvement here. You hear that from other people too. Plus point for the ambience. The second chance is coming, I will report.

Yesterday, Sunday, I was there for a crime dinner! Three course menu, probably wouldn't even feed a child, and all for €99! Drinks are of course not included in the price! No more red deer

Five of us had an appointment for a cozy evening, which we were able to fully enjoy because we liked the atmosphere as well as the food and the friendly and attentive service staff who kept providing us with drinks. We will come back in any case

I have been to Roter Hirsch s few times, as it is located close to the hotel which I am staying at when in town for work. I have never been impressed, but neither disappointed. Until now.. From the start, service was absolutely horrible. No smiles, no welcome no nothing.. we were a group of eight, most of us not Germans, so ordering food doesn’t just happen straight away, as we need to understand the menu and maybe have a few words translated. One would think this to be ok, especially considering we were pretty much the only people in the restaurant on a Wednesday evening.. The waitress was almost just throwing the menu card at us, and it really felt like she had no patience for us to figure out what we wanted to drink or eat… she could clearly tell we were struggling trying to figure out what kind of beer was available, but instead of helping us, she was just standing completely still and rolling her eyes. We felt really unwelcome throughout the evening. Food and drinks were served without smiles, never a “thank you” or any other pleasantries which one would expect. And that’s just my experience on the service.. The food was horrible! I went for the bbq ribs, with red cabbage and fries. Germany is maybe not known for its kitchen or culinary art, but the only effort put into this meal was opening the cans and heating the store bought fries, cabbage, ribs and the most horrible bbq sauce. Just look at the picture.. For sure, I will not visit this “restaurant” again.

Been there twice; once for breakfast (nothing special, you can eat better and cheaper at any bakery) and once in the summer outside for a beer. However, we didn't get a beer because we got up and left after waiting in vain for more than 20 minutes for service.

We were there again on Saturday evening and, as always, we really enjoyed it; The staff was very friendly and the service went well, no long waiting times. We are extremely satisfied. Keep it up!!

The food was delicious, you can't say anything else! Apart from the selection of desserts on a Saturday evening, only a few at home is really not guest-oriented!!! Unfortunately, our service was very rude and didn't particularly care about making the guests happy!! The conclusion is that it was delicious but I personally don't have to come back again!!!

We were guests with a small wedding party of 16 people and were very excited. Making a reservation about 2 weeks in advance was no problem at all. The service was extremely good and they were well prepared for us. The service team was very flexible and we were even allowed to sit down earlier than we had announced. The service was super friendly, attentive and funny. Our guests and we were very impressed. The food and drinks were picked up and served very quickly. Even the children had fun. The ambience and atmosphere were consistently pleasant and we felt very comfortable. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts and will come back soon. ❤️

Since my review was removed again August 14th 10:45-11:25 Addendum: unfortunately the owners just react pissed off instead of addressing their problems. I called ahead and was told it wouldn't be busy. When I arrived with my wife, we were neither greeted, acknowledged nor served after a 40-minute timer had expired. The tables next to us were cashed in, refilled and served even though they came after us. After looking at dirty dishes for 40 minutes and smoking 2 cigarettes, we got up and went to Backwerk. We've always heard good things and gave the store a first chance.

I was there on September 15th, 2023 around 6:40 p.m. for a beer and a schnitzel. Unfortunately the dish did not meet my expectations. I hesitated to write the review because I was concerned that constructive criticism would not be received favorably and could result in being banned from the premises. But since I don't believe that, I'll give feedback. Because nothing is so good that it cannot be improved.

Why do I rate this? I ate a schnitzel with mushroom cream sauce. The schnitzel was warm, but not hot, the sauce certainly wasn't freshly made. The service: Waiters were in short supply. It took forever before we could order drinks; the same applies to food. The food arrived after 50 minutes. I think it was a bit long for a restaurant that was only half full. Another HUGE criticism. There are no children's plates or half portions. There are no children's meals on the menu either. An absolute no go for me! At least there was an empty plate so we could share with our daughter. Ambience: Rustic furnishings. fits. However, when it's windy, the windows aren't completely sealed and you quickly start to freeze.

We were here as part of the crime dinner. The crime dinner itself was really good and fun. The salad starter was delicious, the main course of medallions was more than a letdown. Out of 12 people at the table, 12 people had absolutely cold food. In addition, the main course tasted like the previous day and the medallions were too salty. Very bitter. Unfortunately not recommended! We would be happy to attend a crime dinner again, but definitely not here again. For a price of around €90 per person I expect something completely different.

Heute dort gewesen. Unter "Brauhaus" stellt man sich etwas anderes vor. Da Ambiente wirklich schön.... aber. Ja okay .Waren auf der "Durchreise" und wegen den guten Rezensionen dort. Mein Mann hat nach Karte bestellt. Wobei diese sehr sehr klein und beschränkt ist. Ich hätte gern den "Mittagstisch" gehabt. (Aktuell Reibekuchen mit Räucherlachs und Dip) .Als erstes kamen die Getränke. Die Cola meines Mannes wurde in einem völlig verdecktem Glas serviert. Dann kam das Essen. Mir wurde der Teller hingestellt mit der Aussage "der Lachs ist aus. Wir können Ihnen aber Schinken anbieten" . Ich denke in einem professionellen Restaurant steht das Gericht nicht mehr auf der Karte wenn es alle ist. Trotzdem aber mitten im Haupteingang angepriesen. Da dachte ich noch "okay.... kann ja durchaus mal sein...." aber die Reibekuchen waren in Olivenöl getränkt. Der Salat welk und der "Schinken " hat es leider nicht besser gemacht. Ich habe alles zurück gehen lassen nach 2 Bissen. Wir saßen mit 4 Leuten am Tisch und jeder war der gleichen Meinung, denn alle haben meinen Teller probiert. Einzig fair war, dass mein Gericht nicht berechnet wurde. Eine Freundin hatt eine Kakao mit Weinbrand bestellt. Der schmeckte nur nach Wasser mit einem Schuss kakao und Weinbrand. Unser Fazit, nie wieder. Sorry. 4 Personen und davon bei 3 etwas zu mäkeln. Geht gar nicht bei so einem Restaurant. Auch wenn Nachmittags vielleicht weniger los ist. Aber sowas geht gar nicht.

Haben 2 Stunden an einem Montag Abend aufs Essen gewartet und wurden fast nur ignoriert. Nach dem fünften Mal nachfragen und der erneuten Aussage es würde noch 20 min dauern um 10 Uhr abends ?! sind wir gegangen. Laut Aussage es würde nicht genug Personal da sein, was absolut nicht stimmte, da das Küchen Personal mehr mit reden beschäftigt war als alles andere. Die anderen Gäste an dem Abend waren auch sichtlich enttäuscht und genervt von dem Verhalten des Personals. Absolut keine Empfehlung mehr!

Gestern auf einem Samstag mit sieben Personen Vorort gewesen. Lieder mussten wir mehrfach (drei mal) doppelt Bestellungen von Getränke aufgeben, da sie vergessen wurden. Ähnlich war es bei der Rechnung, auch hier mussten wird drei mal nachfragen. Das Personal war versucht freundlich zu sein, aber durch das junge Alter und nicht geschult konnten diese nicht adäquat darauf reagieren. Im Zeitraum von 3 Stunden wurden 5 mal Tabletts mit Gläsern (teilweise voll) fallen gelassen, in unsere Nähe und auf Gäste. Das Ambiente ist sehr ansprechend, der Blick in die Küche cool und die Systemegastronomie okay in Qualität und Preis, leider sind die Getränke unverhältnismäßig teuer und Bier genauso teuer wie Softgetränke. Mit etwas mehr oder besser ausgebildetem Personal, und wenn man Zeit hat, sicher ein weiteren Besuch wert.

Man wartet hier mindestens eine halbe Stunde, tendenziell eher länger, für eine Runde Bier.. Und das bei mäßigem Besuch und genügend Personal.

Halbe Stunde auf den Service und die Getränke gewartet. Eine Stunde aufs Essen gewartet. Die Spare Ribs waren leider kalt und haben schon fast bitter geschmeckt. Wieder warm machen hat auch nochmal 20 Minuten gedauert. Rotkohl war auch nicht gut und die Pommes waren in Ordnung. Leider nicht nochmal. Schade

Essen ist OK. Muss aber nicht nochmal sein. Haben 30 Minuten auf den Service gewartet um dann zubestellen. Dann haben wir nochmals 40 Minuten gewartet bis unsere Getränke kamen und zusätzlich eine ganze Stunde auf unser Essen. Das Essen war lau warm und das Pilzrahm Schnitzel war ok. Also im großen und ganzen nicht nochmal, viel zulange warte Zeit und fürs Essen würde ich nicht nochmal hingehen.

Alles fein und wir kommen gern wieder.

Superschön zentral gelegen Und mit Ihren Räumlichkeiten Restaurant und Cafe.... für jeden ein schönes Plätzchen zufinden. Wenn dann noch der Marktplatz von der Sonne bestrahlt wird wirklich echt tolles Ambiente im Sommer sicherlich noch mehr mit aussen Plätzen. Laut Service seit Neujahr jetzt wieder mit grosser Karte von Rumpsteak über Rouladen mit Rotkohl oder auch das echt super leckere Brauhausgulasch und auch Schnitzel (fast schon XXL schnitzel 👍👍👍)oder die gute Currywurst die es für den kleinen wie auch grossen Hunger gibt war echt lecker leider das es sie nur in einer Schärfe gab . Alles war echt sehr lecker und reichlich Oben konnten wir noch Billard spielen und haben uns dabei einmal durch die über 12 Biersorten probiert.... bis nächste mal

Die Speisekarte lässt aktuell aufgrund fehlender Köche zu wünschen übrig. Der Service ist schrecklich. Verdursten droht. Aktuell lieber eine andere Gastronomie wählen.
