Service was not very good. We were not served for over an hour.

We were here with four adults and a toddler. The service was super friendly, the atmosphere in the beer garden was relaxed, and the food was delicious. What was particularly positive was that I'm not allowed to eat gluten or dairy. Despite that, I was able to choose from several main courses without any changes. That's quite rare, so both my husband and I ordered one of the gluten-free main courses. Both were delicious, and neither of them affected my gut (for those with celiacs: I didn't have a gluten attack). We'll definitely be back again.

It was a beautiful late summer afternoon in the beer garden! The food was excellent! I had delicious spare ribs. The house-made beers are great! And the service staff is supernova and attentive!

Beautiful and spacious beer garden; our server was great, hard-working, and very friendly. The food is okay but could be improved. The beer is always a matter of taste, but ours wasn't really ours. The outdoor restrooms are showing their age but relatively clean.

We went to the brewery to eat because we were told it would be good, but unfortunately it was the opposite. The drinks were watery and the coffee was so thin you could read the writing on the bottom of the cup and the food was terrible, the spaetzle was completely overcooked and tasteless and the so-called juicy goulash was hard and chewy. For the prices I would have expected more, my conclusion: never again.

I've always enjoyed the Kühl Krug beer, but this time it was a very disappointing experience. My bottle was very warm from the heat, so I politely asked the employee to briefly cool it with cold water. However, my request was dismissed with a rude "Is there anything else I'd like?" and the bottle was neither cooled nor rinsed, but filled immediately. I'm used to the fact that here and other breweries at least briefly rinse bottles. I felt very uncomfortable at that moment and will therefore not be returning.

Hello! I ate there this afternoon. I ordered a Wiener Schnitzel. Unfortunately, I was totally disappointed 😞 Frozen, ready-made schnitzel from the deep fryer. No flavor at all and inferior meat. I will never eat there again. It has nothing to do with the cooking... The service was very nice.

I ate and drank at Kühlen Krug on March 12, 2025. The food was good and plentiful for a local brewery. The non-alcoholic beer was excellent. The value for money is good.

The location was nice, the service friendly, but the food was a disaster. The schnitzel was dry and tough, the pretzel dumplings tasteless and mushy. It's a shame about the nice surroundings, but the food was a complete disappointment. Never again.

Tip-top...awesome beer garden with great indoor and outdoor areas...huge playground, dog section. Friendly staff who know pretty much everyone, and they're also regular customers. The best beer in the region. Wonderful...always happy to come back.

The drinks and beer garden are perfectly fine, but the food isn't that good. The pretzel dumplings were drowned in what felt like a liter of sauce.

The beer is delicious, the currywurst with fries were also good, but the price. €16.80 for a currywurst? It was supposed to be an XXL sausage. I'd guess an XL at most. To the management: Guys, €16.80 for a currywurst, really? Everyone I told that to thought it was crazy.

After being ignored three times in the beer garden and complaining on Maps, we accepted the apology. We received good, friendly service. That's what makes a beer garden visit enjoyable.

The food is delicious, the atmosphere is cozy and pleasant. The staff is very attentive and friendly. The only thing I can criticize is the condition of the restrooms; they need a proper cleaning.

I'd like to speak up for this restaurant due to some of the negative reviews I find incomprehensible. The interior is huge. Almost too big, but the owner can't do anything about this building, which was once the Moninger Brewery. Nevertheless, the ambiance feels quite cozy thanks to the numerous booths. The beer garden is really large and beautiful. The beer is excellent, in my opinion. Most of the waiters are very friendly. Food: It's not a gourmet temple. It certainly wouldn't be my first choice for a cozy meal with guests. There are certainly quite a few convenience foods available... But: the prices are reasonable, the selection is sufficient (it's a shame they don't serve burgers anymore), and the food tastes absolutely fine. Therefore, I can't find anything negative here. The major drawback, however, are the restrooms, both inside and in the beer garden. They're truly unbearable these days. They're in urgent need of renovation! At least the mold stains in front of the restroom entrance have been painted over. But it also looks very improvised.

We were there on Mother's Day... waited 1.5 hours for the food. Which is understandable on a day like that, especially since the place was packed. What's always a bitter pill to swallow, though, and has become downright disgusting, are the men's restrooms in the basement. You're often fully booked. Your beer and food are really good. I suspect they make money accordingly. Then please finally invest in your restrooms, which already stink from the stairwell!

Wow... Wrong drinks brought... There were very few mushrooms in the champion cream sauce and in general the sauce just wasn't my thing... I also suspect that it didn't have much that was freshly made... Food (pork medallions, champi cream, cheese spaetzle €20.90) arrived cold after a long time... complained, 2nd portion came with fried onions... why not the first portion? But here I am sure that they are not fresh and homemade but simply purchased finished products... Schnitzel with asparagus, potatoes, hollandaise (approx. 30€) was extremely salty... Service is not up to the size of the beer garden... felt like 30 porters, but hardly any people to order from. Our first neighbors left without being able to order while we were waiting for food, the second neighbors were able to order drinks, but their order took longer than our food arrived, I was able to complain about it, the second meal came and I finished it... that's simply too long. Here we try to get the maximum output with minimal effort. NO recommendation

We were probably very unlucky today. It was extremely full, but that shouldn't be a reason for almost cold and undercooked food. We waited at least 1.5 hours for the food and then it was a bitter disappointment. Staff was friendly.

This brewery deserves a better rating average. I was very pleasantly surprised at how great and authentic I found it. Prices were normal and I tried a brilliant spring beer (with a second helping) that I found really tasty even though I originally wanted something different. Very nice experience. Super fast service! Authentic and extremely popular outdoors in summer!

The lady who served the hall area almost alone was fantastic in understanding and completing her tasks! Rarely have I seen such a service person. Plus dishes whose quality absolutely justifies the prices. Examples? The salmon on the baked potato...the Greek salad...it's a shame I live too far away.

Wir waren 2024 an Silvester im Kühlen Krug und waren absolut begeistert von dem freundlichen Personal, dem super Essen, der tollen Live-Musik. Es war einfach ein unvergesslicher Abend und Nacht bei euch. Wir kommen wieder wenn es 2025 eine Silvesterfeier gibt .Einfach nur zu empfehlen. Sind von Achern angereist.

We had booked a side room for a funeral service. The preliminary conversation alone was super professional. Very friendly and accommodating. At the funeral service itself, the room was beautifully decorated and the cake buffet was superbly prepared. There was also a giant pretzel with sausage and cheese. There was also a vegetable broth with addition. There was also a vegan cake and vegan pretzel with side dishes served up. Everything was arranged as discussed. The service was super accommodating, friendly and competent. All the mourners were impressed. All around great service. Price/performance was top.

So the schnitzels are really disappointing, they are of the same poor quality but much cheaper at Oxfords. It's a shame, but I wouldn't have expected a deep-fried frozen schnitzel in a brewery. Edit: Sorry for my wrong assumption. I think it's good when the schnitzels are handmade, but for me the only indication that the schnitzel was homemade was that it wasn't as salty as normal frozen schnitzels. However, I suspect that it was prepared in the deep fryer and not with clarified butter or in the pan, am I correct?

Monday is worth it for schnitzel fans as the infamous Gigant Schnitzel is served on that day. We've had it several times and never managed to feed the thing because it's three schnitzels in one. Plus sauce of your choice but without salad 🤣

Conclusion, please read - see below! I can absolutely not recommend this place, apart from a female waiter who did her job in a friendly and courteous manner, there are some “significant” arguments against visiting this restaurant. 1. The food “I had schnitzel Viennese style, I can't say how often they were reheated, how old they were and why they tasted like they came out of the plastic packaging... but I definitely don't recommend them! It doesn't matter that there weren't enough potatoes and there wasn't any salad, it was just bad... 2. There are no free parking spaces left, the parking lot is already full from 6 p.m., e.g. Partly with vehicles from neighboring houses… 3. For closed groups there are 2 rooms behind each other, you are constantly disturbed by people who belong to another group. The volume in the first room (copper kettle) is extremely high, the doors don't close properly, you sometimes can't understand your own words... 4. The room rent of 150€ also requires a minimum consumption of 500€ (at least that was the case for us), you should know that beforehand, otherwise there will be a very unpleasant surprise... these conditions are apparently not the same for all companies and are probably not always the same. This was not the case at the first 2 meetings, despite a significantly lower turnover, we did not have to pay anything. I “absolutely” recommend getting a written offer that the operator must adhere to! Conclusion: - Bad food - no free parking spaces - cramped, noisy and extremely expensive premises “necessarily written terms and conditions. catch up, otherwise there will be a rude awakening!”

We were very satisfied. The event with around 150 people was carried out smoothly and easily. Very friendly team leader and nice staff. The food was also good. The KSC juniors are happy to come back.

It's a shame, I've had beer with a clearly noticeable diacetyl note twice now. At the Ulm brewery vocational school you actually learn how the diacetyl rest works.

We had a celebration with almost 60 people and were very satisfied..everything went wonderfully..Thank you again

Delicious beer, mediocre food, unfortunately mixed service, depends on who you're on which foot... but I still recommend stopping by.

The food came after about 10 minutes. Had loins that were a little tough. The spaetzle was quite powerful. The sauce was quite thick, almost like a paste... a nice, dark, strong sauce would have been better.

There were 5 of us there today and the food arrived lukewarm. Food was rather carelessly slapped onto the plate. And the waiter started clearing away even though two of us were still eating. No thanks, I won't go there anymore.

Unfortunately, I didn't find the food that tasty

A quiet restaurant with a large outdoor terrace. A little old, but still good. The meatballs are good and so is the potato salad. Not a star restaurant and therefore exactly right here on the corner. Reason solid. The service was very friendly and quick. Very rare these days. There's no complaining about the price-performance ratio either. The only big negative is the toilet. It smells terrible, but it's clean.

We held our institute Christmas party here and it was very nice. The atmosphere was great and the support during the preparation was very friendly and courteous right from the start. The juice goulash was very tasty and the feedback from colleagues was also very positive. I can only warmly recommend it.

Often come here for the Gigantenschnitzel on Mondays, great price/performance ratio and if you can't make it you still have a schnitzel roll made from your own creation for the next day. Christmas bock beer and the Maibock are highly recommended and to finish off, order the hop fire with a lighter. Let it burn for a few minutes because that's when it tastes most delicious.

The brewery is particularly suitable for larger groups because there is plenty of space. Ambience is okay, but depends entirely on where you sit. Food is quite good, beer is decent but nothing special. But: There are three types of beer plus one non-alcoholic to choose from, are you serious? The real low point was the service; I have rarely felt so unwelcome in a restaurant. Hopefully the team just had a terrible day.

The brewery is around the corner from the wildlife park. The waiter is super friendly to all guests, the food is very tasty, plentiful and good. The restaurant offers enough seating and is cozy. Absolutely an option for the summer.

Staff was very friendly, the food tasted good. Unfortunately I have to adjust my review, for 17 euros I had a sausage salad and a blackcurrant spritzer. But the last time. The taste was good but the portion was far too small for the price. One can only assume that the leaf lettuce underneath the sausage salad serves to make the portion appear larger. I prefer to make the sausage salad myself at home within 5 minutes.

An event for 320 people, agreed in writing at the beginning of September and confirmed by the local, was canceled at the end of October with the argument that the hall had already been reserved for someone else on the booked day. However, the restaurant confirmed to me in writing on September 4th that they had entered our reservation into their system. We will never make reservations at this restaurant again.

Unfortunately, the waitress at this restaurant had a very inappropriate tone when we ordered our food and drinks. She said things like “quickly, quickly” and seemed very impatient, constantly rolling her eyes. It felt like serving us was a huge burden for them. What particularly bothered us was the clear difference in their behavior towards the table next to us. There she was friendly, smiled and seemed very helpful. This contrast was obvious and we felt like we were less welcome. We felt that she did not make an effort to give us the same attention and courtesy. Overall the service for us was disappointing and unprofessional. It would be desirable if all guests were treated equally, regardless of who they are.

10/16/24, we had reserved for a group of about 50 people. Two stars for good beer. The rest was subpar: completely overwhelmed staff wandering back and forth between the tables with the drinks. Food is ordered using an electronic terminal. Nothing happens for an hour, then like with the drinks. Almost half of the food is missing and is recorded again on the paper pad after about 90 minutes (!). It took almost two hours until everyone had their food. Never again.

We were here for dinner. Waited over 1.5 hours for our food. Which was as delicious as a frozen pizza. The service is overwhelmed and cannot cope with the number of orders. Rude and hasty, I wanted to pay for the first round, she said straight away and after 45 minutes there was still no one there. Overcrowded, unfriendly, loud, simply incompetent. Never again. And not recommended!

The salad was to die for! The beer also tastes good. The ambience invites you to linger. The beer garden is absolutely amazing.

Habe Latte Macchiato bestellt. Es war leider ungenießbar und konnte nicht trinken die Milch war sehr schlecht. Der Kellner war auch grob und statt es zu akzeptieren hat er meine Geschmack in Frage gestellt. Er hat versucht sich rechtzufertigen, was in meinem Augen nicht angebracht war. Nicht mal eine "Entschuldigung" habe ich von dem Kellner mit großem Ego gehört. Der Laden muss noch viel an der Kundenzufriedenheit arbeiten.

"Gigantschnitzel" immer montags. Das war der Aufhänger für uns. Aber das Gigantschnitzel waren dann 3 kleine Schnitzel nebeneinander gelegt. Ohne Ankündigung. Ganz klar, anderes Fleisch, als Fleisch für ein großes Schnitzel. Nicht empfehlenswert.

Last night I had Jägerschnitzel with cheese spaetzle and tap water. The schnitzel was old and dry and now I've been hanging with my head over the bowl for almost 3 hours with stomach pain, nausea, vomiting and diarrhea.

Unfortunately I have to say, the Käsespätzle are not recommended. Unfortunately it didn't taste like a brewery at all, and they were only lukewarm so they were warmed up. I've eaten much better in other breweries. The salad was interesting, with melon. Service okay. Location is beautifully located on the Alb. Prices are okay and toilets were clean.

We celebrated our wedding in a cool jug. Everything went great here, everything was to our satisfaction in the preliminary discussion and all wishes were accepted by Chris and implemented perfectly. I also can't understand the bad reviews, we had 2 waitresses who were super friendly and damn cool, which is what you want. The food was very good, whether it was a starter, main course or dessert, all the guests praised it. Some guests even bought beer to take home because they liked it so much. We were very satisfied and can highly recommend the cool jug. Keep it up And thank you again for the wonderful service and the great communication with Chris.

This small home brewery makes my absolute favorite beer in the world and it comes ice cold about 1 minute after ordering! The beer garden couldn't be more authentic and the service, prices and quality are just right!

Beer tasted great as always. Unfortunately, the Giganten Schnitzel has deteriorated a lot. The size and price are ok but it was very dry and the fries had no trace of crispiness. The oil was probably very old.

Das Essen war nicht genießbar, das Fleisch war todgebraten und wurde mit einer großen Portion ich glaube es sollten Zwiebeln sein, war aber undefinierbar abgedeckt ,die Bratkartoffeln sind im Fett geschwommen, die Toiletten waren schlimmer als Bahnhoftoiletten, alles total verdreckt, dieses lokal kann man nicht weiterempfehlen.

Price performance is not right here at all. Portions far too small for the high price and quality is rather average. The service wasn't nice at all.

We've been here several times, the food was usually ok, although not particularly great, and the service was always friendly. The location and the ambience actually more than make up for the mediocre food, especially in this weather, and you could give it 4 stars with a clear conscience. Unfortunately that wasn't the case today. Service: Is obviously bored/annoyed. When asked about the food/drinks, the answer was a maximum of one syllable and there was little interest. Eat: Gigantenschbitzel lukewarm, tough, far too thick, not edible. It tasted like it had been sitting there for a long time. Cheese spaetzle inedible, tasted like sour cream. At the end, the waiter takes it for granted that we haven't eaten anything except the fries and accepts the payment indifferently without even thinking about asking if something was wrong. Instead of a good end to the bathing day, we both have nausea and a stomach ache for €40
