The room was clean and spacious. Breakfast was excellent and constantly replenished.

I would describe the rooms as functional. They are clean and tidy, but what we didn't like was that there was no small refrigerator or kettle in the room. The staff is very friendly, and the breakfast buffet was very good. The restaurant serves good German cuisine, and the staff here are also very friendly.

My review refers to the beer garden. It's very sad what the beer garden has become. The menu isn't much better than a snack bar. Schnitzel with fries or salad comes without bread, and the feta cheese is only available with bacon. It's a shame for vegetarians. The food used to be really delicious. The service is abysmal; the entire staff (6!!! people) sit at one table, and the already few guests (22 on a Friday evening in midsummer) wait 30 minutes until someone finally approaches the staff and asks for service. There are people at every table with empty glasses, and when someone finally comes, they just want to pay and get out of this mess as quickly as possible. There seems to be no dedicated manager. It certainly won't be long before the beer garden closes. Why not switch to self-service when there are so many efficient systems...

I went to the beer garden with colleagues, and everything was fantastic—the food was delicious, and the service was incredibly friendly and very helpful. I would definitely go again.

Great location - easy arrival by public transport & ICE train from the Ruhr area | quick departure by car on the motorway 🛣️ 🚃 Very flexible & child-friendly, we even got an upgrade due to the weather (very warm). We were able to request a kettle for our toddler, and everything was ready a few minutes later. 🛏️ 🚿 The air conditioning was worth its weight in gold. ❄️ Breakfast was small but delicious and fresh. We stayed here as a stopover on our way to Croatia. It's a neat and clean hotel. There's a nice beer garden where you can enjoy a delicious meal. The breakfast was also excellent.

Quiet location, close to public transport, and just a few stops from the city center. The air-conditioned room was quite pleasant on a hot day.

Unfortunately, the food during our visit was also very disappointing. Serving four, more than obvious from both the look and the taste, Bürgermaultaschen (traditional German ravioli) with supposedly homemade potato salad is almost a disgrace. Unfortunately, we didn't enjoy it at all.

I've rarely eaten such a bad meal. The gypsy schnitzel was laced with tendon. The sauce was reduced to just the vegetables, making it dry and overcooked. The fries didn't deserve their name; they were brownish, but half-raw. The Maultaschen were dry and served with instant potato salad. The only bright spot was the reasonably cold beer. It doesn't call for a repeat. There are much better places in KA for the same price.

Very neat hotel in Karlsruhe, neat rooms and friendly hard working staff. We booked one night here with friends on the return trip from Sardinia. Had delicious wienersnitzel with salad and fries. Their own city beer tastes delicious. A recommendation for a trip or a week in Karlsruhe.

I am extremely disappointed with the way guests are treated at this hotel. The restaurant staff refused to serve us well before the official closing time — without any reasonable explanation. This is absolutely unacceptable for a hotel of this level. The attitude was rude and unwelcoming, and it made us feel like we were not wanted there. It’s clear that guest comfort is not a priority. I definitely do not recommend this place to anyone expecting respectful service and a proper hospitality experience.

The attitude towards customers is so terrible that I don't want to mention the advantages of the hotel. The reception is open until 4 pm, and the restaurant until 8 pm, but at 7:20 pm they refuse to serve guests. The hotel was half empty, and its owner doesn't even see a cause-and-effect relationship between the fact that he feels sorry for the money for the receptionist's and restaurant staff's salaries and the fact that the hotel is half empty. If he made the reception 24 hours a day, and the restaurant until 10:30 pm, he would increase the employees' salaries so that they wouldn't kick out guests an hour before the restaurant closes, then both the hotel and the restaurant would be full, the rating would be 5, and the revenue would increase many times over. There were quite a few people like us who were refused service an hour before the restaurant closed, and each of them would have eaten for 70-100€ in that hour. That is, in one hour, the hotel owner lost money that would have been enough to pay the salary of another receptionist. It's scary to even imagine how much he loses in a month because of his greed.

I strongly do not recommend it. We booked this hotel solely because of the restaurant and parking. Booking.com stated that the restaurant was open until 8:00 PM. We knew we would arrive earlier, so we were very surprised by the refusal to serve us almost an hour before closing. Honestly, we have never encountered such rudeness in our lives. Run as far as possible from this place, where they do not respect their customers so much.

Ich war mit meiner Familie Samstagabend da es wird ein Einmaliges Erlebnis sein Ich hatte den Backfisch mit Kartoffelsalat, wollte Pommes haben, was ich auch bekommen habe. Der Backfisch war ein fertiger Backfisch. Er war kalt die Pommes waren zum Teil nicht geschält, schmeckt nach Fisch und waren in altem Fett frittiert. Es wurde Schnitzel bestellt und noch Sauce dazu. Die Sauce kam, nachdem das Schnitzel schon dreiviertel gegessen war. Der Preis war zu hoch für das Essen, was wir bekommen haben. Wie gesagt, es war ein Einmaliges Erlebnis nie wieder.

Nice hotel, Badische style. Rooms are okay, beds a bit less, at least for us. We switched room, somehow better, but not too great. Food in restaurant is very good at good prices. Breakfast is buffet and nothing to complain about. S-Bahn 2 is 10 minutes walk and the 15 minutes into city centre. The staff is very friendly. I would come back here again for some nights fore sure. Specially for the ambiance. A+ for the quality!

My rating refers solely to the food. Unfortunately, I have rarely been so disappointed with a restaurant. Everything from a to z is frozen or from the bucket (except for the meat, of course). Even the salad is a mix bought as well as the salad dressing and all sauces. I can get exactly the same as a private person at a discount store. The price is then the peak. I'm really sorry... eat there, never again. Still nice and friendly service. The coffee biscuit even saved my evening.

There were 4 of us eating in the restaurant, the menu was very clear and the food was good and plentiful. 3 dishes of which are also typically Baden. The service was very good and friendly and not intrusive. The price-performance ratio was good, food, dessert and drinks just over 100 euros. We've all had enough. A little out of the way on Grünwinkel, the ambience is rustic but appropriate, the building is timeless. There is a smoking trailer outside in winter. Nice idea. In summer there is space for many guests in the beer garden.

We went to the restaurant for dinner. The service was very friendly and relaxed, which made us feel immediately at home. The selection of dishes is extensive, but you can't get lost in the variety, making it perfect for us. The schnitzel with spaetzle and sauce was delicious, with a large, generous portion. Even compared to nearby restaurants, this was the best schnitzel and spaetzle we've had. The atmosphere is very cozy and rustic; all in all, a feel-good place with great service and excellent food. We'd love to come back!

Yesterday we went to the Schupi Theater. The play was funny, but the food was not recommended. The sausage salad was very sour and it came with three small pieces of very old and dry bread for a hefty price of around 15 euros. We ordered an extra portion of fries, but they were small, hard pieces, so we had to return the portion, but it still appeared on the bill. It's a shame for the money we spent on the food. We could have had better food elsewhere. I'd love to see the play again in the future, but we'll never eat there again.

The restaurant smells of sewage, and we were presented with a menu that was significantly reduced compared to the online menu. Six of us opted for schnitzel with fries, which were quite over-salted, and Strasbourg sausage salad with cheese so old it was completely dried out. The good times at Schupi are definitely over.

Rooms ok, dining room getting old. 5 different types of chairs and worn tables. There is a railway line 10 meters away. Very friendly staff in the shop. Addendum now after months regarding the restaurant not the hotel. Absolute impudence. Sat in the beer garden during the week. Ate Baden sausage salad. Large portion for 12.90. Came on Whit Saturday. Prices not visible in the display case. Each menu overlaps the prices of the others ( The arrangement was very strange).I ordered Strasbourg sausage salad.There was an event at the Badische Bühne.We think there is another menu with higher prices.It doesn't matter.My sausage salad was at least 1/3 less (greedy) than without the event with cheese from About 1 well-heaped tablespoon of cheese. 2 euros more for that. Hence my tip: the next time you visit on the day of an event, never eat there again. Especially not hamburgers etc. the whole thing is completely overpriced. Hence the service rating is not because of the waitresses. They were friendly.

Yesterday we had dinner with 6 people and then went to the theater. I had reserved a table by phone weeks ago. Unfortunately, this was probably not noted. We still got a table. Unfortunately, the menu couldn't be compared to that on the website. The prices are way too high and none of us got enough. The service was very friendly and the play was super funny. We would eat somewhere else next time.

Were in Karlsruhe on business. Rooms are well equipped. Staff is sweet and nice. Due to illness there was only a small evening menu. The city center is a bit far on foot, but the tram is around the corner.

We were there with 3 people for a business trip. Unfortunately there is no elevator. Rooms are carpeted, which is not great at all. Beds are an absolute disaster. When I arrived I found a black hair on the bed cover itself. Rooms are freezing cold despite the heating being on! Beds should be replaced and there is no need to talk about the insulation in the rooms. The icing on the cake came at breakfast, where there was a long hair in the bacon. That was my breakfast. Unfortunately the hotel cannot be recommended. I hope you check everything better in the future and that the next guests will be spared this.

We were there for a performance by the Badisch Bühn and ate before the performance. What can I say: high prices for small portions with a mediocre taste at best. For a ridiculously small portion of fries, €4.50 is quite steep. The service was good and friendly.

Hotel with inn tradition. Well, the location in the nearby industrial area isn't great at first glance, but that doesn't matter. The arrival was extremely uncomplicated and everything was explained in advance by email. My room was very clean and relatively newly renovated. Only the pillow needed replacing. The hotel and inn have a tradition, with many performances in the hall on stage, as I learned. The breakfast was sufficient and everything you needed was there. Excellent coffee machine with delicious coffee specialties. Very friendly staff!!!! All in all a house to come back!!!!

We were at the Badisch Bühn yesterday and the piece was very funny and we laughed a lot. We wanted to eat at Schupi first, but so far we've always been happy with the food there, we've been there many times. The service was very friendly and competent as always. We had invited guests for yesterday and I have to say that the food we were offered was unfortunately not what it used to be. That's too bad. We're happy to spend more money if it tastes good, but we won't be eating here again anytime soon.

We dined here after a business trip on a Tuesday evening. The food was very tasty and arrived quickly. However, the portions could be 20-30% larger. The service was very personable and attentive. I cannot rate the hotel.

Review only for the theater evening/food/drink. The play was good. Sufficient parking spaces available. If I go there again, we won't eat here anymore, unfortunately the price/performance ratio for the food doesn't match at all. Canteen food at star chef prices. It's better to go somewhere nice before the event and just have a drink here.

Trotz voll besetztem Biergarten fand sich noch ein Platz für mich und ich bekam zügig mein Getränk. Auch das Essen ließ nicht lange auf sich warten und erfüllte alle meine Erwartungen bei weitem. Frisch, sehr lecker angerichtet und schmackhaft. Da passte auch noch ein zweites Bier. Wie die Zutaten ist auch das Bier regional. Frisch gezapft und schnell serviert, perfekt. Zum Abschluss gönnte ich mir noch einen Zwetschgenschnaps einer Karlsruher Brennerei, der vollkommen überzeugte. Mild und kräftig war auch der Espresso zum Abschluss. Hierher komme ich gerne wieder. Speisekarte mit guter Auswahl für jeden Geschmack und Geldbeutel. Auch für Familien mit Kindern geeignet.

We stayed twice this month and it was a lovely experience.Very good located near the motorway it makes the perfect choice for travelers in need for a break.The rooms are great, lots of parking spaces available and a beautiful garden where people can have a meal or just a drink.The food was very good and the Lava cake on the end was heavenly😁(kept a piece of it,on my tshirt:)).Brilliant service from all the staff.Thank you and we look forward for next time

Ein schöner Biergarten der aber die Bedienung ist das schlimmste das ich erlebt habe. 20 Minuten bei 30 grad Hitze auf Getränke Bestellung gewartet, hatten schon das Getränk leer und die Bedienungen hatten besseres zu tun wie z.b Tische abräumen als die Bestellung für das essen aufzunehmen. Nach 45 Minuten hatte wir keine Lust mehr und wollten bezahlen und nicht einmal da kam die Bedienung . Als Ausrede keine Zeit obwohl der Biergarten halb leer war . Aber zum Glück gibt es 500 Meter weiter das Monninger Stübel da wurden wir sofort bedient obwohl es stark besucht war und mit einem leckeren Essen entschädigt.

I didn't know the exact reason why I and my Chinese friend were be ignored for 15 min, all German guests got attention soon. Also no reaction as we leave without an order and pass the service team. Unfortunately very unprofessional, never ever again.

The Schupi beer garden is an absolute insider tip! The service is extremely friendly and attentive, which makes the visit particularly pleasant. The atmosphere in the beer garden is very inviting and cozy, perfect for a relaxed evening with friends or family. The selection of food and drinks is varied and of high quality. The portions are generous and the price-performance ratio is absolutely right. The location of the beer garden is also ideal for escaping from everyday life and enjoying nature. Overall, a wonderful place that I highly recommend to everyone!

We had a family reunion. Hotel was easy to find. There were enough parking spaces. The room was smartly furnished. Rooms, reception and dinner were great. We had a great celebration with music and dancing.

I think the pieces are mostly very good, but unfortunately this time it was only satisfactory. By the way, what I noticed is that a lot of people come to an event like this on a Saturday evening completely poorly dressed and sometimes with haircuts. I wear clothes like that to work in the garden. Unfortunately I think it's getting worse and worse. Plus lots of fat people and especially tattoos 🤔😱😢🥴

I celebrated my big birthday at the “Schupi” and we also stayed overnight at the Hotel Schupi. The celebration took place in the “an der Alb” event room, well equipped and ideal for a private celebration. The preparation went completely smoothly and I could rely 100% on professional advice and support, including very tasteful table decorations. The hotel is also very clean and recommended. The buffet was outstanding and the chef demonstrated his special skills with local basic products. The warm and caring service was the “icing on the cake”. It was a fantastic celebration that we will all have special memories of.

The room and bathroom need to be completely renovated. Neither eating in the restaurant nor breakfast is recommended. The baked goods were not baked through, the inside was still raw/soggy, which not everyone's stomach or intestines can tolerate. The American bowl in the restaurant consisted mainly of convenience food, not good at all and not at all tasty. Coffee really thin and watery.

Was there twice and each time the room was super clean and equipped with everything you needed. Dinner in the restaurant in the evening and breakfast in the morning were great. Definitely recommended 👍

Stayed at the Schupi twice this past month and couldn't have been more satisfied. If you are passing through Karlsruhe, it's conveniently located not far from the Autobahn in a residential area. Parking is free and theres a shopping center a short walk away. Very clean, spacious and comfortable single rooms with a private bathroom. Don't forget to have dinner in the adjoining Restaurant. Classic and delicious German specialties. I noted guests and locals alike enjoying their meals. Lastly, make sure to take time to enjoy the hearty breakfast in the morning. Everything from eggs and bacon to homemade jams and jellies. Lastly, the hotel and restaurant staff alike were uber hospitable. Way friendlier than what you might encounter at a typical franchise hotel.

Unfortunately, the room was very old and very noisy, but okay for two nights. The breakfast, on the other hand, was very good and offered a nice selection. It was also very nice in the restaurant in the evening. Very tasty food, very friendly and attentive staff. The location to the trade fair is perfect, less than 10 minutes by car.

Since 1983, folk theater has been performed in the ballroom of the Hotel "Schupi", always in combination with catering from the hotel kitchen. We sit at long tables across the stage, and there are also a few tables for two at the edge. Main courses range between 10 and 30 euros. The catering team has an excellent handle on the room, but the kitchen is unfortunately rather average. I start with “Badische Maultaschen soup (beef broth, root vegetables, Maultaschen)”. The broth tastes like convenience, the Maultaschen is tough. The “Strasbourg sausage salad (Lyon, Emmental, red onions, parsley)” with - barely lukewarm - fried potatoes is a little better. Here you could have been a little bolder with the vinegar. Conclusion: Average cuisine and popular theater fun. Seit 1983 wird im Festsaal des Hotels "Schupi" volkstümliches Theater gespielt, immer in Kombination mit Bewirtung aus der Hotelküche. Wir sitzen an langen Tischen quer zur Bühne, am Rand gibt es auch ein paar Zweiertische. Hauptgerichte liegen zwischen 10 und 30 Euro. Das Gastro-Team hat den Saal hervorragend im Griff, die Küche ist leider eher durchschnittlich. Ich starte mit "Badische Maultaschensuppe (Rinderbrühe, Wurzelgemüse, Maultasche)". Die Brühe schmeckt nach Convenience, die Maultasche ist zäh. Etwas besser ist der "Straßburger Wurstsalat (Lyoner, Emmentaler, Rote Zwiebeln, Petersilie)" mit - kaum lauwarmen - Bratkartoffeln. Hier hätte man beim Essig ruhig etwas mutiger sein dürfen.
