I really enjoyed it here and enjoyed the food. Great dishes, lots of organic and different options. We tried a variety of dishes, and everything was delicious. There's also a beer garden, although it was still closed.

Hach ja, es ist ein echter Unterschied, ob man im Sommer oder im Winter in den Ratskeller geht. Drinnen im Winter sind es 5 Sterne, toller Service, tolles Essen, tolles Ambiente. Draussen im Sommer geht irgendwie gar nicht. Es ist hektisch, man sitzt auf wackeligen Biergartenstühlen und der Service ist gestresst. Es ist so schade. Wir würden gerne auch im Sommer drinnen sitzen, aber das ist nicht gewollt. Also für uns ein reines Winterlokal.

A feel-good inn where everything is right The listed historical building with the large guest and event garden in the Bornheim district is a pearl among the special restaurants in Frankfurt. The warm, cozy furnishings with the exclusive Schtu Moon designer pendant lights from Catellani & Smith make the guest room a feel-good place for connoisseurs of authentic, creative cuisine and followers of the slow food philosophy. In our opinion, the meat and sausage dishes processed in our own butcher's shop clearly exceed the dishes offered in the well-known Frankfurt cider bars. The black pudding specialties we tried were sensationally good and aromatic. To match the freshly prepared daily food offerings, there is a selection of drinks that range from Frankfurt cider to Bavarian beers and international wines. The exceptionally friendly service made our visit with friends a lasting feel-good experience: we could tell that the talented, warm Bella did her work with a lot of joy. All in all, the visit to the Bornheimer Ratskeller significantly exceeded our expectations and we will definitely visit the restaurant again on our next visit to Frankfurt to try more highlights of the ambitious cuisine.

It's amazing that this imposing restaurant didn't get any stars. It's probably too cheap, too nice and not sophisticated enough. And: no matter how hard you try, you won't find anything to complain about. A discovery that changes life positively!

Great service, staff was on hand, food was extremely tasty, well seasoned. We had the Königsberger meatballs and the venison fillet there. Desserts also delicious. We have absolutely nothing to complain about and would love to come back.

What a great way to start the weekend! Attentive and warm service, stylish and cozy atmosphere, well-tempered dining room and, as expected, excellent cuisine. The combination of flavors is always surprising. The sauce in the Blanquette de veau, which is so rarely offered in Germany, was very fine and yet flavored with tarragon in exactly the right dose, an experience!

We already knew the place because of the Biergarten. This time we chose it for our get-together with friends, to eat goose. The restaurant's scheme requires that we buy the goose from the supplier and they prepare and serve our goose. In the end we have to eat the whole goose, which was a lot, too much for four people. I would only recommend it if there are more people. The service at the place is impeccable, the atmosphere is pleasant. Good location, with parking. The taste of the goose and the side dishes was ok, but not special.

Very tasty bourgeois cuisine, pimped up but not completely over the top. You definitely have to reserve in advance! In summer there is a huge beer garden with Wilhelminian arades and old plant trees. Never been disappointed with the food. There is no industrial lemonade, only homemade ones. Weekly changing menu. Can you go there?

The menu offers a diverse selection of traditional German dishes, prepared with attention to detail. A particular treat was the goose, which was superbly seasoned and cooked to perfection. The ambience of the restaurant contributes significantly to the positive experience. The rustic furnishings, paired with warm light and harmonious decoration, create a pleasant atmosphere that is suitable for both family dinners and social evenings with friends. The service was friendly and attentive, which further enriched our visiting experience. One downer, however, was that no Coca-Cola Zero was offered. For lovers of this classic drink like me, this may come as a disappointment as alternative soft drinks do not offer the same enjoyment factor. Despite the many positive aspects, there is still room for improvement. Some of the side dishes could use a little more seasoning to bring out the flavors even better. While the food was good, we missed a certain level of sophistication that would make the difference in a truly outstanding dining experience. Overall, we give the Bornheimer Ratskeller 3 out of 5 stars. The combination of good food and pleasant ambience makes it a recommended place for a cozy evening. With a little tweaking, this restaurant could have the potential to become a real insider tip in Frankfurt.

High kitchen with regional ingredients, they have their own butcher department and the meet comes from the region. Nice place for a private event, different levels and rooms. The Restaurant is nice and good.visited. There are enough parking places at the entry and in the surrounding.

We had dinner with 5 people. The waiter was very friendly and attentive. The starters were newly inspired and of fresh quality. The kale wasn't as Nordic as I know it to be. It's a little reminiscent of creamed spinach. We'll be back.

The Bornheimer Ratskeller completely convinced me yesterday. First of all, I would like to say that both the service and the management are extremely nice and attentive. The interior of the Ratskeller is really beautiful, with wooden elements, sophisticated place settings, and comfortable, but really simple chairs, which I really liked. I would also like to praise the apple wine that comes from the Nöll apple wine press. Not too sour, and a great choice! Now to the meat: the food. We tried our way through the starters and tried both the miniature blood sausage with mashed potatoes and the Odenwälder Handkäs. The Handkäs was delicious and relatively “unclassical” in a rather creamy sauce. It tasted more severe than anywhere else - so you have to like that! The black pudding on mashed potatoes was sensational, with fruity elements and sautéed onions. I was one hundred percent convinced. Good to know: the chef took third place in the Paella World Championship in 2022. In summer it is definitely worth coming by for paella. Then there will be tables outside again and you can sit outside on the terrace.

This clarifies your answer. In addition, you will drive away guests even though you have enough seats available. Before we spontaneously wanted to come to the restaurant, we called to make a reservation, but they said they were full. We still came spontaneously at 6 p.m. and apparently tables were only available until 7 p.m. We actually sat at the table until well past 7 p.m. and there were still over 10 free tables on the terrace. It doesn't seem to be in your interest to accommodate the guests at all. As for the food, it's a matter of taste. It's not mine. However, one expects a dish to be served warm. It's a shame about the restaurant. The location is great, but that’s about it.

We had an event in one of the event rooms and overall we were very satisfied. The food was very tasty, the service was good - only the prices are a bit high, but they are definitely justified by the good quality of the food

The kitchen can do its job, but the service is sabotaging. Individual wishes are ignored. The choice is limited if you like lighter fare. Food doesn't come at the same time, orders are forgotten. Too few service staff for the size of the area, card payment machine goes on strike due to poor internet connection. In this price range you can get really nice service elsewhere and not be sent from the restaurant toilet to the garden toilet. It's a shame, because the location looks promising and the roast venison for 36 euros was very tasty.

Wow, what a great beer garden. I just wanted to try the restaurant because of the historic location, I didn't expect much and left excited. First of all, a beautiful and large beer garden under huge chestnut trees. The concept of only selling what comes from small businesses is very pleasant. The concept also means that you don't get an Aperol Spritz, which I don't need, but a Spritz alternative would be great. (I recommend Ambiq from Abyme Vodka Berlin) The meal took a little longer because Hyundai spent an evening here with 30+ people, but we were made aware of it beforehand. So no problem at all. The wait was well worth it, a variation of a Vitello Tonato, but with a regionally modified sauce made from smoked brown trout and... I forgot. But it was very delicious and just the right portion size for the hot weather. As you could see, the homemade apple strudel was also very delicious and not too sweet. The service was also very attentive, although sometimes a bit hampered by the large group, friendly and quick. I will definitely come back soon. The goose dinner for Christmas will definitely take place here.

I can't share the good reviews. On the one hand, the wooden folding chairs without cushions are more than uncomfortable, on the other hand, I found the food to be average at best, but the prices were above average. The black pudding had a lot of large pieces of fat and was way too salty, mushy and unfortunately probably not the best choice. The portions are clear and the desserts are completely overpriced in my opinion. The whole thing is advertised with flowery words from the region. Unfortunately, that couldn't change my impression. I give three stars to the excellent staff, who were really on their toes, friendly, quick and perfectly organized. All in all, disappointing for me. Hola, what a great shop. I have nothing to complain about either. 1. The concept: well thought out with a clear line of sustainable products from the region 2. Constantly new menu, with seasonal ingredients, which underlines sustainability. Regional cuisine reinterpreted with creativity and innovation. 3. Staff, friendly, well trained, friendly and attentive. Prices are high, but not expensive when you take into account the effort such as personnel, operating costs and purchasing, so they are justified. 4. Wine list, only German wines and some of the best winemakers in Germany are listed on the menu. And it's not the local wines that are served there, but GG, 1st location and old vines. An El Dorado even for wine fetishists. Chapeau and please stay that way.

The starters are excellent, the main courses are also great and the desserts round it all off. My highlight is and remains the black pudding. A true composition. I could now talk about by far the most beautiful “beer garden” in Frankfurt or an award-winning world-class paella chef and team or the credible and proven value of exclusively regional products and last but not least a very nice, attentive service team, even if sometimes it might take a little longer. Even Madame K. has “evolved”, which I personally wouldn’t have really thought possible. (Als Sachsenhäuser Bub hab ich in 64 Jahren nicht so einen endg..len Handkäse gegessen!) Und was die Preise betrifft: Solche Arbeit kostet nun mal. Nice courtyard where you can sit in the summer and have a good time. But unfortunately there were either not enough waiters or it was due to the big event but the service took a little longer. And as far as prices are concerned: work like that costs money. But against the rip-offs that one often experiences, absolutely justified! After a somewhat unfortunate start, all in all we could still be satisfied. After we sat down in the garden and asked about the menu, we were succinctly referred to the QR code at the table. It is not necessarily easy for older people to cope with this. A standard card with an additional sheet of changing “daily recommendations” would certainly be easier to use. The atmosphere in the garden was very nice, the food was excellent. However, the price-performance ratio leaves a lot to be desired. The drinks, especially the wine, are exhorbitantly expensive. 0.2 l Pinot Gris, Ingelheim costs 9.90 euros! Overall, in my opinion, the concept should be reconsidered and revised.

Simply super delicious regional food, you have to be here. The menu is clear but everyone will find something and will definitely get their fill. The wines are also very well selected. Sensational restaurant, friendly, polite, very nice, with a quick saying, very attentive, remember who has allergies etc. Celebrated my sister's wedding there, everything went great. The staff is so attentive, you don't feel like it's a restaurant, it's like eating in the kitchen at home, great only regional food, nothing imported great. Your wishes will be taken into account and dishes will be prepared accordingly.

We showed up spontaneously last night without a reservation, and the staff went out of their way to accommodate us. The location is great, both inside and outside with its view from the top of a hill. Perfect on a spring/summer night! The food was delicious. My Blutwurst (black pudding, sort of) was to die for. My partner had pasta with venison ragout and it was equally gorgeous. Decent choice of drinks. Everything is sourced locally. The service is attentive and friendly. We'll be back :)

Ate in the Ratskeller for the first time today. First of all: the service is absolutely great! Attentive but unobtrusive and always on the move. When it comes to the dishes, you can tell that someone has put some thought into this. From the starter salad to the main course to the dessert, everything has a delicate but special touch. Very nicely done. The guest room is tastefully furnished and underlines the charm of the historic building. We are already looking forward to the beer garden in summer!

We were in a mourning party of around 30 people. The atmosphere is appropriate, the staff are friendly and distant, the food is really very good

Anlass: Geburtstagsessen eines 12-Jährigen mit Familie und Freunden. (14 Personen) Service: Superklasse! Sehr netter Kellner, aufmerksam, humorvoll, konnte gut mit Kindern umgehen! Speisenangebot: Klein, aber fein. Trifft nicht jeden Geschmack. Obwohl ich auch Wild-Gerichte sehr schätze, waren mir die Kombinationen zu drüber. Preisleistungs-Verhältnis: Selbst einfache Speisen sehr hochpreisig, Getränke exorbitant teuer. Upturn 1 Speisekarte: In diesem superschönen Ambiente die Speisekarte mit smartphone über QR-Code zu scannen, war auch für die jungen Gäste "unschön". Nur vier gedruckte Speisekarten für gesamten Gastraum verfügbar. Upturn 2 Schichtsystem: Zugegeben, nicht nur Person, die reserviert hat, auch ich habe den Hinweis auf zwei Schicht-System missinterpretiert. Eindeutig unser Fehler, keine Frage. Nichts-desto-trotz, habe ich auf keinem Kontinent dieser Erde ein Lokal mit diesem System getroffen. Es wurde für 17.00h reserviert, Vor- und Hauptspeisenbestellung konnte 17:45h aufgenommen werden. Hauptspeisen wurden gegen 19.00h gebracht. Noch während des Essens wurden wir um 19.30h gebeten, die Tische um 19.40h zu verlassen, damit gesäubert und neu eingedeckt werden kann. Trotz schönem Ambiente, super Service, schmackhaften Speisen, waren wir uns alle überein, dass wir aufgrund des 2-Schichtsystems nicht wieder kommen werden. (ab 20.00h Reservierung ist mit kleineren Kindern zeitlich nicht möglich) Ich würde mich sehr freuen, wenn Ihr dieses Konzept überdenkt!
