Super nice, special restaurant with an exceptional, regional and seasonal weekly menu. We had different dishes in a group and can recommend all of them without exception. Plus nice, attentive service and good wine with a great price-performance ratio. We'll definitely be back! Highly recommended!

This clarifies your answer. In addition, you will drive away guests even though you have enough seats available. Before we spontaneously wanted to come to the restaurant, we called to make a reservation, but they said they were full. We still came spontaneously at 6 p.m. and apparently tables were only available until 7 p.m. We actually sat at the table until well past 7 p.m. and there were still over 10 free tables on the terrace. It doesn't seem to be in your interest to accommodate the guests at all. As for the food, it's a matter of taste. It's not mine. However, one expects a dish to be served warm. It's a shame about the restaurant. The location is great, but that’s about it.

Very tasty, daily changing cuisine, very cozy atmosphere inside. In the summer outside - in the beautiful garden - under the trees. You should enjoy this beautiful ambience in Bornheim, which is rare today.

We had an event in one of the event rooms and overall we were very satisfied. The food was very tasty, the service was good - only the prices are a bit high, but they are definitely justified by the good quality of the food

The kitchen can do its job, but the service is sabotaging. Individual wishes are ignored. The choice is limited if you like lighter fare. Food doesn't come at the same time, orders are forgotten. Too few service staff for the size of the area, card payment machine goes on strike due to poor internet connection. In this price range you can get really nice service elsewhere and not be sent from the restaurant toilet to the garden toilet. It's a shame, because the location looks promising and the roast venison for 36 euros was very tasty.

Wow, what a great beer garden. I just wanted to try the restaurant because of the historic location, I didn't expect much and left excited. First of all, a beautiful and large beer garden under huge chestnut trees. The concept of only selling what comes from small businesses is very pleasant. The concept also means that you don't get an Aperol Spritz, which I don't need, but a Spritz alternative would be great. (I recommend Ambiq from Abyme Vodka Berlin) The meal took a little longer because Hyundai spent an evening here with 30+ people, but we were made aware of it beforehand. So no problem at all. The wait was well worth it, a variation of a Vitello Tonato, but with a regionally modified sauce made from smoked brown trout and... I forgot. But it was very delicious and just the right portion size for the hot weather. As you could see, the homemade apple strudel was also very delicious and not too sweet. The service was also very attentive, although sometimes a bit hampered by the large group, friendly and quick. I will definitely come back soon. The goose dinner for Christmas will definitely take place here.

I can't share the good reviews. On the one hand, the wooden folding chairs without cushions are more than uncomfortable, on the other hand, I found the food to be average at best, but the prices were above average. The black pudding had a lot of large pieces of fat and was way too salty, mushy and unfortunately probably not the best choice. The portions are clear and the desserts are completely overpriced in my opinion. The whole thing is advertised with flowery words from the region. Unfortunately, that couldn't change my impression. I give three stars to the excellent staff, who were really on their toes, friendly, quick and perfectly organized. All in all, disappointing for me. The insulted response to my review speaks for itself.

Hola, what a great shop. I have nothing to complain about either. 1. The concept: well thought out with a clear line of sustainable products from the region 2. Constantly new menu, with seasonal ingredients, which underlines sustainability. Regional cuisine reinterpreted with creativity and innovation. 3. Staff, friendly, well trained, friendly and attentive. Prices are high, but not expensive when you take into account the effort such as personnel, operating costs and purchasing, so they are justified. 4. Wine list, only German wines and some of the best winemakers in Germany are listed on the menu. And it's not the local wines that are served there, but GG, 1st location and old vines. An El Dorado even for wine fetishists. Chapeau and please stay that way.

All in all a successful evening. Great atmosphere in the beer garden and in winter it's beautiful inside too. The service is attentive and professional. The food is in a class of its own. The starters are excellent, the main courses are also great and the desserts round it all off. My highlight is and remains the black pudding. A true composition. I could now talk about by far the most beautiful “beer garden” in Frankfurt or an award-winning world-class paella chef and team or the credible and proven value of exclusively regional products and last but not least a very nice, attentive service team, even if sometimes it might take a little longer. Even Madame K. has “evolved”, which I personally wouldn’t have really thought possible. I/We love coming back again and again and hope that even in our old age, with or without a walker, we will have the pleasure of being pampered by Mario, Michi and Co. 🙏 P.S. Please do not compare the Bornheimer Ratskeller with the nearby Äppler inns! You're not comparing a Mercedes with a Fiat, are you?

Trotz rappelvollem Restaurant war der Service entspannt, freundlich und flott. Die angenehm überschaubare Karte bot etwas für Jeden. Und was dann aufgetischt wurde war absolut phantastisch! (Als Sachsenhäuser Bub hab ich in 64 Jahren nicht so einen endg..len Handkäse gegessen!) Und was die Preise betrifft: Solche Arbeit kostet nun mal. Aber gegen die Abzocke, die man oft erlebt, absolut berechtigt! Nice courtyard where you can sit in the summer and have a good time. But unfortunately there were either not enough waiters or it was due to the big event but the service took a little longer. Location, concept and the entire team are simply outstanding!!! We were given a tour of the entire house. In-house Bakery, butcher shop and show kitchen. The entire property and the architecture impressed me! There should be more entrepreneurs with such visions

After a somewhat unfortunate start, all in all we could still be satisfied. After we sat down in the garden and asked about the menu, we were succinctly referred to the QR code at the table. It is not necessarily easy for older people to cope with this. A standard card with an additional sheet of changing “daily recommendations” would certainly be easier to use. The atmosphere in the garden was very nice, the food was excellent. However, the price-performance ratio leaves a lot to be desired. The drinks, especially the wine, are exhorbitantly expensive. 0.2 l Pinot Gris, Ingelheim costs 9.90 euros! Overall, in my opinion, the concept should be reconsidered and revised.

Sensational restaurant, friendly, polite, very nice, with a quick saying, very attentive, remember who has allergies etc. Celebrated my sister's wedding there, everything went great. The staff is so attentive, you don't feel like it's a restaurant, it's like eating in the kitchen at home, great only regional food, nothing imported great. Your wishes will be taken into account and dishes will be prepared accordingly.

We showed up spontaneously last night without a reservation, and the staff went out of their way to accommodate us. The location is great, both inside and outside with its view from the top of a hill. Perfect on a spring/summer night! The food was delicious. My Blutwurst (black pudding, sort of) was to die for. My partner had pasta with venison ragout and it was equally gorgeous. Decent choice of drinks. Everything is sourced locally. The service is attentive and friendly. We'll be back :)

Ate in the Ratskeller for the first time today. First of all: the service is absolutely great! Attentive but unobtrusive and always on the move. When it comes to the dishes, you can tell that someone has put some thought into this. From the starter salad to the main course to the dessert, everything has a delicate but special touch. Very nicely done. The guest room is tastefully furnished and underlines the charm of the historic building. We are already looking forward to the beer garden in summer!

Anlass: Geburtstagsessen eines 12-Jährigen mit Familie und Freunden. (14 Personen) Service: Superklasse! Sehr netter Kellner, aufmerksam, humorvoll, konnte gut mit Kindern umgehen! Speisenangebot: Klein, aber fein. Trifft nicht jeden Geschmack. Obwohl ich auch Wild-Gerichte sehr schätze, waren mir die Kombinationen zu drüber. Preisleistungs-Verhältnis: Selbst einfache Speisen sehr hochpreisig, Getränke exorbitant teuer. Upturn 1 Speisekarte: In diesem superschönen Ambiente die Speisekarte mit smartphone über QR-Code zu scannen, war auch für die jungen Gäste "unschön". Nur vier gedruckte Speisekarten für gesamten Gastraum verfügbar. Upturn 2 Schichtsystem: Zugegeben, nicht nur Person, die reserviert hat, auch ich habe den Hinweis auf zwei Schicht-System missinterpretiert. Eindeutig unser Fehler, keine Frage. Nichts-desto-trotz, habe ich auf keinem Kontinent dieser Erde ein Lokal mit diesem System getroffen. Es wurde für 17.00h reserviert, Vor- und Hauptspeisenbestellung konnte 17:45h aufgenommen werden. Hauptspeisen wurden gegen 19.00h gebracht. Noch während des Essens wurden wir um 19.30h gebeten, die Tische um 19.40h zu verlassen, damit gesäubert und neu eingedeckt werden kann. Trotz schönem Ambiente, super Service, schmackhaften Speisen, waren wir uns alle überein, dass wir aufgrund des 2-Schichtsystems nicht wieder kommen werden. (ab 20.00h Reservierung ist mit kleineren Kindern zeitlich nicht möglich) Ich würde mich sehr freuen, wenn Ihr dieses Konzept überdenkt!

Good atmosphere in a good busy (Friday) evening. Everyone was very nice and helpful. Anyone who likes classic German cuisine is in good hands here. Beer is fresh from the tap. Modern Handkäs style. You have to like it. There are always vegetarian alternatives.

First of all, what was super good and actually the most important thing for a visit: the food. The food is really prepared to a high standard and the menu is always seasonal. The ingredients also come from the region (if you can believe the description in the menu). My only drawback that evening was the service. Everything was extremely hectic and the waitress assigned to us pointed out to us several times that the restaurant was so full that evening. People asked if we could pour ourselves the water because there was so much going on at the moment. My partner and I were clearly the youngest audience that evening and it seemed like we didn't have the waiter's full attention. When we ordered cider, the large glass was simply brought to us without asking. Our food order was then also messed up (apparently the piece of paper with the order was lost). As a gesture of goodwill, they brought us two medlars. Actually a very fair gesture, but on an empty stomach, after you've already had half a liter of Äppler after the long wait, it was really a bit harsh. That can happen, but it's not enough for five stars.

Finally found a place in Frankfurt where cooking is done with passion, regional ingredients and at a high level of craftsmanship, and the service and ambience are also right. The cuisine is down-to-earth but not boring, but with a fine sense of what is special. You also notice that the mood in the team is right, which further increases the feel-good factor as a guest. Wir waren mit einer größeren Gruppe (20 Personen) zum Abendessen in diesem wunderschönen Restaurant und durften einen sehr gelungenen Abend dort verbringen. Der Service (Haroun) war ausgesprochen zuvorkommend und wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Für Fragen zu den Gerichten hat sich sogar der Koch persönlich Zeit genommen und uns am Tisch beraten. Die Speisen haben uns durchweg hervorragend geschmeckt. Nochmals einen herzlichen Dank an das ganze Team!

We had a Christmas party on site. Unfortunately, the goulash was full of fat and by the time everyone had food on the table, it was cold again for the first few. Otherwise a nice restaurant.

We've eaten here twice in the past few weeks and the food is really of excellent quality. It's not that easy to find really good kitchens with your own signature in Frankfurt. We found one here. The entire concept is consistent. The products are sourced excessively locally, something you don't see every day. The owner puts a lot of effort here and invests a lot of time in finding sensible and sustainable partners to supply him. Really good. As starters we sometimes had a beetroot salad with horseradish ice cream. A poem and you don't want to stop eating and then feel very sad when your plate is already empty. Another starter was salmon trout with leeks. The same applies to this too. Fantastically good composition with a great world of aromas. Really good craftsmanship. Anyone who is trained here learns from the ground up. Very exemplary! We also ate the goose ribs. Personally, we were missing a little spice here, but I was able to fix it with the cruets. In the main courses we had a classic homemade black pudding with mashed potatoes and an apple cider jus and braised onions. Very successful classic dish and the black pudding was top notch and homemade. Brilliant. Another main course was the venison slices with homemade spaetzle, egerlinges and cranberries...to sink your teeth into. We even asked for a spoon to scoop out the remaining jus. Delicious. A highlight was definitely the orecchiette with kale pesto and probably panko crispy. Sounds easy but wait. We would guess homemade orecchiette. In fact, I have never seen this in any restaurant. To be honest, I would like to have the recipe for the dough here. Mega simple dish, very high quality and handcrafted on the plate. Respect for that. Finally we had an eclaire with pumpkin and jourteis. The yoghurt ice cream was very fresh, it could have had a touch of sweetness for us but that would be complaining on a high level and there was no need for it. Really good and successful evenings with great food, very nice and well-trained staff. The wine list is also impressive. Even though we didn't drink because my partner was pregnant, there are nice positions on it. As an aperitif I had an apple cider delight. Pretty tasty and not to be missed. If you want to eat here you should definitely make a reservation as the restaurant is well booked. When the restaurant is full it can be quite loud at times. Here you could possibly think about something in the long term, but that is a purely personal opinion. All in all, both evenings were very nice and we found a new regular restaurant for ourselves here. Price performance is unbeatable and the Michelin Guide should definitely stop by. A Bib Gourmand is definitely in there and would be deserved. Probably even a green star for sustainability. So keep it up, we've already booked goose dinner and we'll see each other again. To you very soon Addendum from 02.01.24 Shortly before Christmas we were there for goose dinner with the family. The starter included a goose essence with tortellini from small goose. Very tasty and successful. The goose was super crispy, tender and tasty. The potato dumplings were to die for and the absolute best part of the whole goose meal. If there is a recipe here I would be interested ;) the red cabbage wasn't to our taste, very Christmassy. Tasted like over-the-top spiced red cabbage. That was a shame, but it's probably a matter of taste and things don't always work 100 percent. The goose jus was too thin for us and was similar to the starter soup, only slightly thickened. It was a shame but we still had a great evening with great conversations. Dessert was a poached red wine pear with ice cream etc. Unfortunately the pear was far too crunchy. Nevertheless, the rating remains an absolutely deserved 5 stars.

A great restaurant, very good concept and great team.

Eine sehr schöne Location. Der Empfang war warm und herzlich. Der Service war überragend und die Gans hervorragend. Das war nicht das letzte Mal.

Ich hatte kürzlich das Vergnügen, das Restaurant Bornheimer Ratskeller zu besuchen, und meine Erfahrung war schlichtweg überragend. Das Essen war von herausragender Qualität und Geschmack, und ich kann es uneingeschränkt weiterempfehlen. Das Ambiente im Bornheimer Ratskeller ist wirklich ansprechend und schafft eine angenehme Atmosphäre. Der Service war ebenso beeindruckend – aufmerksam, freundlich und effizient. Diese Kombination aus exzellentem Essen und erstklassigem Service hat mich nachhaltig überzeugt. Ich freue mich bereits auf meinen nächsten Besuch.

Wunderschönes Ambiente, das Essen war zum Dahinschmelzen und der Service wie immer sehr nett, locker und aufmerksam. Wir hatten einen Tisch mit Blick zur Küche und konnten zuschauen mit wieviel Liebe und Ruhe das Essen zubereitet wird. Unter anderem hatten wir als Vorspeise Bouillabaisse von Süßwasserfischen mit Croque Monsieur, sehr schmackhaft , Forelle mit herrlich knuspriger Haut und wer Innereien mag, wird sich in das Ragout von Gänseherz - und Magen mit Maronen gefüllte Pasta verlieben. Die Soße war so gut, dass ich mir noch einen Löffel hab geben lassen.... Vielen Dank für den tollen Abend

Total lecker und keine 08/15 Gerichte. Die Speisekarte wechselt immer und man wird nicht erschlagen mit einer zu großen Auswahl, was ich persönlich sehr angenehm und interessant finde. So kann man immer Mal was Neues entdecken! Geschmacklich war das Essen wunderbar abgeschmeckt, super harmonisch und vielfältig von den Konstistenzen her. Ein tolles Geschmackserlebnis! Es ist bloß etwas teuer und vegetarisch ist die Auswahl durchaus etwas begrenzt. Vegan wird es dann schwer bis unmöglich, allerdings möchte ich hier positiv anmerken, dass die Küche bemüht ist kreativ umzudenken, um die Gerichte abgewandelt vegan anzubieten. Vermutlich werde ich nicht so schnell wiederkommen, was aber eher an der Lage des Restaurants und dem gehobenen Preis liegt. Ansonsten kann ich es weiterempfehlen, würde jedoch dringend dazu raten zu reservieren. Der Espresso ist übrigens auch sehr empfehlenswert!

Spannende, nicht so „gibt es überall“ Küche zu fairen Preisen, gute Weinauswahl

Not surprisingly becoming our favorite restaurant, not only because of the kitchen and atmosphere but the whole experience hits a warm spot in our heart with the great staff and especially happy to do a shout out for Vanessa.

Wie schade, dass wir nicht schon eher dort waren. Wir hatten geplant zum Gänseessen in den Bornheimer Ratskeller zu gehen und auch wenn wir leider keine Gans mehr bekamen (wir hatten es nicht vorher reserviert) hatten wir dennoch einen kulinarisch wunderbaren Abend mit tollem Service. Die Produkte sind alle von lokalen Betrieben und dazu noch Bio und das hausgemachte Brot ist einfach großartig. Wir kommen sehr gerne und garantiert wieder.

immer wieder alles super! mein dritter besuch und ich wurde bis jetzt nicht enttäuscht! konzept und ambiente passt alles! das essen ist großartig und preislich absolut unschlagbar! große empfehlung meinerseits!

Selten verlässt man ein Restaurant mit einem gefühl von hundertprozentiger Zufriedenheit. Hier passt einfach alles, der Service ist aufmerksam und freundlich, das Ambiente stimmig und die Küche nah an der Perfektion. Die nahezu ausschließlich regionalen Produkte werden zu geschmacklich und fantasievollen Speisen verwandelt die auch preislich absolut fair überzeugen. Absolute Weiterempfehlung von meiner Seite aus, hier wird Gastronomie in Perfektion gelebt und geliebt.

Sehr gute paella und sehr leckers Dessert.

Wir waren gestern am 25.11.2023 zum Geburtstagswochenende meiner Schwester zu fünft im Bornheimer Ratskeller.Es war wirklich so toll.Vanessa hat unseren Tisch bedient und war sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend.Ich habe eine Milcheiweissintoleranz und Sie hat mich bei jeder Speise beraten und immer mit der Küche gesprochen was man für mich zubereiten könnte.Man hat Vanessa so angesehen wie sehr Sie diese Arbeit mit Freude macht. Das Essen war ebenfalls herausragend und hat meine Erwartungen noch übertroffen. Dieses Restaurant ist eine absolute Empfehlung.Wir kommen wieder.
