Bombay in Berlin

As soon as we entered, we were greeted politely and given a complimentary drink at our table – something you don't see every day anymore. The restaurant is very clean, even the restrooms. The music is nice, perhaps a little quieter, but it wasn't a big deal; we could still have a perfectly good conversation. And then the food arrived – it was so delicious, and you could tell everything was fresh. 10/10! I highly recommend the mixed grill.

I visited the Indian restaurant Bombay in Berlin-Tegel and was absolutely thrilled! From the moment you walk in, you feel welcome – the team is incredibly friendly and attentive, and their superb service ensures you feel completely at ease. The food was a real highlight: Butter Chicken and Chicken Curry – both incredibly delicious, freshly prepared, and perfectly seasoned. You can truly taste the quality and the attention to detail. I can also highly recommend the Batura bread: crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and simply fantastic! The cleanliness is also immediately noticeable. The restaurant makes a very well-maintained impression, which perfectly complements the pleasant atmosphere. My conclusion: A great Indian restaurant with fresh and authentic food, friendly service, and fair prices. I will definitely be back and can wholeheartedly recommend Bombay in Tegel!

We ate at this restaurant on November 23, 2025, a group of three. After we got home, we all started experiencing stomach aches and vomiting. If only one person had been sick, it would have been understandable, but all three of us were affected. I cannot recommend this restaurant to other diners. The food was cold, even though it was supposedly freshly cooked. We ordered lentil dish and chicken tandoori.

Every sauce tastes completely different; not just a basic sauce with a twist. Three types of draft beer. All cocktails €6.50! I'll be back...

Raw chicken! Broken rice (cheap or simply recooked too often...not fresh). My sister and I commented that the chicken was unusually soft, and they said "no, no, it must be like that because it was marinated", until shortly before the end I opened a piece of chicken and saw that it was still pink! I felt so sick!! The waiter and the chef confirmed it and said "it can happen" !!!!! No! Can't happen!!! We didn't want to eat any more, and we were still charged for the dishes. Really cheeky. No wonder the place is always empty. The health department should take a look! 0/10!

We were visiting friends in Tegel, and they took us to this restaurant. We had no experience with Indian food, but we were very pleasantly surprised. It was incredibly delicious. The service was friendly, and we had a wonderful time there.

Here, you dine in style and are served by attentive and friendly staff. We were happy to wait a while for the freshly prepared food. Everything was delicious, and best of all, we were more than satisfied and it was reasonably priced. Everything is highly recommended. Chairs were naturally set aside for wheelchair access.

We discovered this new-to-us shop by chance, as they spontaneously stepped in as a stop on a scavenger hunt for my 18th birthday. And then we had to try the food the very next day. It was absolutely delicious! As the picture shows, there was a little bit of everything on it; just the way I like it. The other dishes and the dessert also tasted fresh and natural! The waitress was more than attentive and recognized the birthday girl from the presentation! We sat at the front facing the pedestrian zone (because we didn't know any better), but next time we'll check out the beer garden at the back! Thanks again!

The best meal I've had in a long time; every bite was a flavor explosion. Everything was a 10/10, and the cocktails at happy hour, which always applies 😂, were also quite special. AND the service was outstanding. They would all fit right in at an upscale restaurant with this level of service. We were still talking about how divine the meal was an hour after the meal.

That evening around 7 p.m., we decided to try the Bombay Restaurant. It was pretty empty, so we got a window seat. The food was very tasty, the portions were manageable, and the staff was professionally friendly. That's part of it. We won't be going there again.

My first time here was amazing. The starter was a small crisp salad. The chicken biryani was delicious, well-seasoned, and the chicken was tender. I ordered an alcoholic cocktail to go with it; it was fruity, refreshing, and perfect to accompany the meal. Unlike some other Indian restaurants, you could taste the alcohol in reasonable quantities. The staff was friendly and attentive without being intrusive. We even had a nightcap at the end. You can sit outside in warm weather, and I think they even have a small, quiet courtyard—a definite recommendation for anyone who enjoys good Indian food! 🍛🍗🍹

It’s necessary for Indian restaurants to adjust the taste according to the guest but this place is no where close to North Indian food. I would say, it’s below standard, it’s pity for what they are serving and to be very proud of calling it Indian cuisine. We went there for business lunch, the service was awful for me cannot speak for others. So we got salad which was the best of all because they just had to cut the salad and put dressing on it. Second was served lentils soup which was for some reason sour, which I didn’t understand why it had to be like this. The server said it is North Indian food and it’s like that(offensively). Main course was bland, chicken tasted weird. Rice were the second best. Overall, Don’t recommend, I would rather eat frozen Indian food than what they are serving.

I've eaten at your place many times and always love it, which really annoys me. That it often tastes different. So please put all the cooks at one stove and they should all do it the same way' e.g. chicken curry 🍛 that's why it's only 3 stars 🌟 something like that annoys me, I'm looking forward to the chicken curry, which was so delicious and then it comes to my house and it tastes like shit, because it wasn't cooked like it usually is!! Or do you change your chefs every day?

We were there with colleagues, we ate well and had a nice chat. Everyone was very happy with the main courses. Prices are really good. Indian dessert wasn't great, but something new will come along in the summer. Restaurant is also wheelchair accessible! We will definitely go there again.

What's so hard to understand about "No Ads"? I don't want your flyers or those from any other company in my mailbox.

We probably didn't have the best day, there were six of us and as soon as we ordered we were reprimanded in a commanding tone about how the gentleman wanted the order to be, as one person asked a question in between. The food was okay, but the portions were very small and selected (in each meal, curry etc. there were only 5 pieces of meat and that at these prices). Unfortunately the rice was only lukewarm. We expressed our criticism constructively, but unfortunately all we received was a shrug of the shoulders. Too bad The ambience is nice and modern, but for me personally it was too big and uncomfortable and it was drafty because we were sitting near the door.

I just ordered vegetarian online... and have to compare my food with ready-made food and lack of imagination paired with over-cooked pamper... I've never eaten such bad Indian food - at least there's a price for that - it's a shame that the Indian restaurant on Brunowstrasse is gone. ..that was freshness, diversity and Indian cuisine! I threw away 3/4 of the food...unfortunately I have to give 1 star to be able to post

It's my second visit but the experience remains the same because the owner (who introduced himself as the owner of the restaurant) was once again extremely unfriendly. On the first visit, I thought his behavior might be due to stress - even though the restaurant was empty and only my friends and I were there as guests. However, today I experienced the same rude and distant behavior. Last time there was also an employee who accidentally dropped cutlery on my cell phone and neither apologized nor responded in a friendly manner. Instead she looked at me very unfriendly. Because of these repeated bad experiences, I will not visit this restaurant again.

After our favorite Indian restaurant in Tegel unfortunately closed after years, we tried it here in the summer. What can I say, TOP!!! We always eat the same dishes, they always taste great and the quality is right. Which is an important point for us (restaurateurs ourselves). Staff super friendly and accommodating. The boss is very personable. Clean shop and cozy. Please keep it up :-)

Very nice restaurant visit with 15 people. Food was great, very friendly staff, service excellent. 1/2 point deducted / 4.5 stars because we sat in the quiet backyard with 15 people. There were unused tables/chairs standing around there, destroying the souvenir photo. Otherwise we really liked it. We would love to come back 👍

The quality of the food is consistently positive, but not outstanding. The service is friendly and attentive, the waitresses are helpful. I find the background music to be a bit too loud for a restaurant, which can occasionally be perceived as stressful. The ambience is okay, but it's a matter of taste. The prices are reasonable.

Unfortunately I have to criticize the food, it was definitely too sweet and too unaromatic for the price, the side salad was bland and carelessly cut. When we informed the waiter, or rather the head waiter, of our impression that the main course was too sweetly seasoned, we were asked to adopt a different attitude in an extremely senior manner, sometimes with incorrect translations of the Indian words... very unpleasant. I know several Indian restaurants all over Berlin, but this one is extremely expensive and stingy with standards. This is probably common for Tegel.

Wow...really unique and the best Indian restaurant in Tegel. I already know the concept from Friedrichstrasse, where the cooking and catering is done at the same level. I always enjoy coming here. Always good, always fresh, always tasty and friendly service.

We loved chana masala. Tried Lamb vindaloo and Butter chicken, which was just usual Berlin style. Place has wheelchair accessible restroom.

A large area in front of the restaurant and a small one in a back yard. The interior is very warm and comfortable.
