We had a wonderful evening at the restaurant celebrating our daughter’s birthday. The service was exceptional, and the staff were incredibly helpful and attentive, making the occasion truly special.

The place is a bit run down and doesn't look like anything special. If it hadn't been for the good reviews and the many guests, I probably wouldn't have chosen the place. However, my first impression was put grimly to shame when the food was served. The food was fresh, flavorful and super delicious. It can definitely be recommended.

We had made reservations for Gudi Padwa thali. I had been excited to try their thali long time back. It was a big disappointment they did not organise it well. Very poor management. A little smile doesn’t harm to the customer while taking order/ serving food. We got our food waiting 45 minutes with missing items in thali & was served cold. We also observed same chaos happening in other tables as well. Food tasted good but the service is very disappointing and so poor. So overall experience was not worth it.

Cozy address to eat delicious Indian food without being too expensive. It tastes good, but isn't exceptionally good. Gladly again :)

Yesterday, it was Gudi Padwa, and Swadistha offered a special Pooranpoli Thali that was an absolute authentic! The Pooranpoli was soft, perfectly sweet, and loaded with ghee. Katachi Aamti was delicious, and the dal-rice and masala rice were comforting, while the chickpea curry and batata bhaji paired beautifully with the fluffy puris. Crispy papad and pakora added a nice crunch, salad was on perfect taste, and the shrikhand was the perfect sweet ending. With generous portions and quick service, this festive thali was totally worth and had homely touch.

Best Maharashtrian food on the occasion of Gudhipadwa. Just felt like home. Would expect more such menü in future.

Visiting Swadishta always feels like a homecoming for me.During special occasion, Swadishta never disappoints,I recently tried there authentic Puran Puran thali on the occasion of Gudhi Padwa festival and it was mouth watering.Highly recommended!!!

I have only given 5 stars for the food as I am not allowed to give 7! My son and I found this restaurant by chance while visiting Berlin. We had lunch specials, which were excellent value. The food was the most delicious Indian food we've ever had. The staff were attentive, without being overbearing, and the decor was beautiful. Very clean, including toilets. English and German speakers among the staff. I will definitely visit again when in Berlin.

I had experiencing Gudi Padwa Special Thali at Swadishta in Schöneberg, and it was simply excellent! The thoughtful Maharashtrian meal felt like real taste and it ended up being just the right manner to welcome the festival. The Puran Poli was sweet and soft and balanced, Amrakhand was perfect as the creamy, sweet ending to the meal. Making the experience feel just like home. If you’re looking for an authentic Maharashtrian meal in Berlin, Swadishta is a must-visit!

Had the Gudi Padva Special Thali today. It was amazing! Felt Nostalgic having Puran Poli, Amrankhand, Katachi Aamti. Everything was above par. Must visit again!

Impressed with the special Gudi Padwa Thaali today as every single item brought back so many memories and felt like home. Delight to have puran poli in Berlin! From the varan to amrakhand, it was just perfect. And lovely service to top it off.

As far as I can tell, they serve authentic Indian vegetarian and vegan cuisine. It's very tasty and definitely filling.

Yesterday the four of us were at the Indian restaurant Swadishta and had reserved a table in advance. Unfortunately, the reception wasn't very warm. We had the choice whether we wanted to sit in the front, lower or rear, higher area. The front area seems drafty and cool. Upstairs you sat comfortably warm but with little distance to other tables. We had to wait 25 minutes before we could order drinks. We ordered the food at the same time. I ordered a latte macchiato and a cola. Other tables around us received plates and cutlery after ordering - we didn't. We didn't get any drinks either. Then food was brought to the next table. After the food was on the table, a dish was cleared away and brought into the kitchen. Immediately afterwards, exactly this main course was brought to one of us at the table. We had no plates or cutlery, but they brought us within a few minutes. About five minutes later two dishes came again. So three out of four people had something to eat but nothing to drink. Since I would have liked the latte macchiato before dinner, I canceled it. Shortly afterwards the drinks came with a latte macchiato, which was only very reluctantly taken back. We've already started eating even if one person didn't have any food on the table yet. The male waiter came to the table and asked if we were satisfied, which we weren't. After a complaint, the missing main course was brought with the information that it was not a service error. The payment process was then quite complicated and you really expected a tip. An absolute disgrace.

A really really nice place to eat. Me and my girlfriend randomly quick-stopped here to eat something and it was kinda mind-blowing 😃 We have never been there before and even don't know Indian exquisite very well, thus it was something new, you know The staff was really kind and charming. The menu is large but you can easily get help by the service employees. They are so nice. The value for money ratio is great. We had a tea, a starter and a huge dinner and got that for just 54 bucks. It was soooo delicious at all. It totally felt worth it. We gonna come visit again for sure 😊🙋‍♀️ Great job

It’s one of the best pure vegetarian restaurants in Germany. I ordered dal makhni with chawal and taste was really awesome. Also papad with mint chutney is awesome combination. Yes don’t forget to order mango lassi with your any meals. Even Pani Puri and thali is also not to be missed. Ambience is very nice, positive and location is also very close to metros. If you are pure vegetarian and don’t like to visit veg and non veg restaurants then Swadishtha is one of the best option.

The great (read the best) Indian restaurant in Berlin with the speciality for Maharashtrian and South Indian cousine. Always delivering up to the Standard! Definite recommendation: Pani Puri, Bharali Vangi (stuffed small aubergine), and Chana Batura.

2nd Visit: made me change my old review of 4 stars to 5 stars. Of course this time they hit it out of the park. And the show stopper was Bharali Vangi (stuffed small aubergines) - with typical maharashtrian way which had a perfect spicy blend. Indeed reminded me of my home as being maharashtrian myself its close to heart. Kudos to chef. Worth visiting again and again Owners are good and Jay who was looking after our table is very hospitable. Thanks for bringing back the memories. ================================ Must visit if want to visit typical Indian (especially Mumbai street food). We had ordered below items: Vada Pav: it indeed reminded me of vada paav from Mumbai. Though bun could have been little softer, it felt very dry. Pani puri: this one came with Chhole instead of ragada which is fine. But yeah it was upto the standard. Dahi Puri (SPDP as per the menu): which was also good. Aloo paratha: which was hot and stuffing was good. Daal soup (for a friend): he loved it. And Mango Lassi: it was delicious too. Kachhi dabeli was on the other part, was below paar. Wouldn’t mind missing next time.

Kat vada Ani Kolhapuri Missal Was amazing 💯/ 💯 for the taste of India

We tried cut vada and kolhapur misal. It had authentic Indian Taste, the spices they used were homemade spices so you will get the Indian Taste. Hospitality is very good.

I am not Vegan. So this is a pleasant surprise for me. The staff is friendly and the food tasty. Recommended for those like me who are passing through the area and want a change from the classic restaurant :)

I visited after over 1 year and ended up disappointed. The pani puri and Misal were nice but the bun of the Misal was dry. I remember their chole bhature being authentic and close to what we get in Delhi from a food festival but yesterday it was just what you can find at any other restaurant here. The gajjar ka halwa was really watery too. Hope they can improve and bring it back to how it used to be

Based on the good reviews. There was a bit of hesitation before entering because there seemed to be no guests, but at the back there appeared to be a raised space with many guests seated. Nice restaurant with an Indian atmosphere where the whole family seemed to help. A bit overwhelmed by the many dishes on the menu that were unfamiliar to me, I ordered the Swadishta Special Veggie Sizzler (Tandoori Spezial). What a feast of a dish this was! Loudly crackling and wonderfully fragrant, served in a cast iron bowl. Very tasty falafel and cottage cheese. The Swadishta Special Thali was also fantastic! Very friendly service and very affordable. Highly recommended!

The best Indian food I have eaten in Germany. I was a bit skeptical because of the purely vegetarian cuisine, but each of us was more than satisfied. No meat is needed for these delicacies. The food came quickly. Paying took some getting used to using a plaque on the table with a QR code. So take your cell phone with you. This is the only criticism of the restaurant. Without the previous reviews I wouldn't have known what this QR code was for. My elderly parents would have had a hard time paying here.

Decent dhabei and misal pav . Fees like most Maharashtrian dishes are worth indulging in. Would definitely come here to try out more . Service is really nice . The servers are very accommodating. The place could really spruce up a little. Not very clean .

We just ordered via Wolt. I don’t know what happened, the food bag was totally destroyed, everything was leaking. And I must say the quality of the food was soooo bad! The Batura was soaked in oil, only crispy. I don’t know if their chef changed, we used to eat there very often and liked it when it used to be the small Imbiss around the corner. Food has become very tasteless and unauthentic! Will not order there anymore! Very disappointing!!!!

I'm writing this review after my second visit to the restaurant! I highly recommend this place for delicious Indian cuisine! particularly chats! The food's level of spice surprised me, and the staff was really kind. Kudos to the chef for not changing the flavors of the cuisine to make it more suited for the locals instead you can try authentic Indian food. Every dish I tasted here was delicious!

The quality of food is degraded here. Dabheli Had almost uncooked potato. Fake Manchrian. Beware some of the menus are not available like pav bhaji and misal pav.

They have extremy bad food quality. I oredered paneer jalfrezi and paneer butter masala .. both were soo bad with burnt onions in it .i ordered from wolt it was really really bad i hope restrauant should increase the food quality .

I had never heard of the store before, it was suggested to me by the delivery service! Have ordered and have to say, very tasty. The lentils and chole bhatura were very tasty, although a bhatura was missing ;-) Butter panner was also good, but way too sweet! The rice was also very good. The portions are also sufficient! Will definitely visit the restaurant and try some other dishes!

DAYLIGHT ROBBERY! Was here 2 months before with my girlfriend I want to comment about their dishonest practice. Accidentally paid €50 instead of €40 over their PayPal (which obviously included a 10% tip over a bill of €36). Once paid, the restaurant didn't give a damn even if it was a minute after paying and told us they cannot return it. The waiter said the owner will return the money and took my number. Did not bother to call. Contacted the owner over PayPal and still did not return the money. Clearly, they did not want to return the unearned money. If this is not robbery, I don't know what is. WHAT A SHAMELESS BEHAVIOUR! Such practices are questioning the honesty of these people running the business. Makes it even more difficult for me to tip these scammers. On top of this, the tables were not clean and spider web along the walls. No wonder why nobody was visiting here - huge place with all tables empty. At least, could have served their only visitors well. We would NEVER VISIT again and would NEVER RECOMMEND anyone reading this comment to visit. Editing to respond to the owner's comment - 1. Your employee told us card payment is not working but I can send PayPal to the owner's PayPal (Deepak Patil). 2. That's why I mentioned "Accidentally" 3. Your employee took my phone number and promised a callback and the owner will refund via the PayPal. Attaching screenshot for reference. Money was paid from my girlfriend's PayPal. Either your own employee has scammed you or you had no intention of returning that money even after taking our phone number and us following back to you. Either way, loss is customer's.

Swadishta Restaurant, Berlin: A Mixed Experience I recently dined at Swadishta Restaurant in Berlin and had a mixed experience. While the food was undeniably good, and the ambiance pleasant, there was an incident that left me feeling uneasy. I asked if it was possible to refill my water bottle with tap water since I was catching a long-distance bus after dinner. Surprisingly, I was told that I could only request this upon leaving the restaurant, which felt somewhat unwelcoming. It wouldn’t have been a problem if they had asked me to pay for the tap water—I would have gladly paid.

I live in the neighborhood and thought it was about time I gave this restaurant a try. When I first went in, I wasn't allowed to sit in the upper area, for whatever reason. Once downstairs, I was able to enjoy the magnificent spectacle of the waitresses who seemed to have nothing better to do than chill at the counter and constantly receive loud notifications. The dish I uploaded was a whopping 20 euros. Absolutely exorbitant for the portion. Sure, it was tasty, but I needed another sandwich right after. Toilets were in a class of their own – completely cordoned off like a crime scene. The sink wrapped with a trash bag. I said several times that I wanted to pay, but instead of a bill I was politely offered a coffee or tea, which I naively accepted. To my amusement, it appeared directly on the bill - very generous! In the end I paid using a QR code, which was on the table the whole time, but of course no one thought it necessary to tell me beforehand. Would have saved me a lot of time and nerves. On a 1st visit everything was delicious. But when we visit 2nd time we order thali is tasteless and not fresh. Than we ordered panner kadai but same like not taste all tomatoes sauce. # dispointed

They are very good in Indian chats but may not be all dishes you like. I ordered Chole Bathure after asking its authentic North Indian style or not. But I ordered and wasn’t good in taste, improvement needed in North Indian Authentic Dishes!!! Rest all good.

We ordered from liefrando on sunday and we also payed almost 6 euro for delivery this is totaly waste of money from this restauarnt to order and yes we oder 6 items and 3 of them was missing worth 14 euros so its total waste of money and to oily food and very bad service even we called them for 6 times no one answered our call and in end they block my number is this your service and behaviuor about customers I ask liefrando for refund they said restaurant is not responding call So its clear that its totaly waste of money and no value for customers “ waste of money “ to order here never again

Really good taste of Indian street food. We tried Dahi puri, vada pav and dabeli, all of them were very tasty. Also ordered some variety of parathas.

Half of the items on the menu are not available. We ordered gol gappa, papdi chat and mix paratha - all very average in taste I guess that’s why the food is cheap here. Service is very slow. The server said this was a non rush day but they still kept forgetting things. I asked for the bill and they took over 20 mins to get the bill only after I followed up again. I wonder how they function on a rush day!
