We did the birthday buffet with them, it was a great experience, really recommend this place for your celebrations.

We have been regulars at this restaurant since three years. The food is authentic and delicious and the service made us feel like home but recently there has been some attitude towards Indians which is a big deal breaker for us. There’s this guy who seems like a total wannabe and acts like he doesn’t understand us when we pronounce the name of the dish in Hindi. Tries to speak in German although he knows Hindi and English. He is specifically rude towards Indians and this is not the first time this has happened to us. We hope the owner takes this seriously and asks the staff to treat everyone with respect. This happened on 07.12.2025 around 7:30pm just as a reference.

Delicious dishes, great Indian cuisine

The food was great. We had the Vada Pav and Paneer Jalfrezi, and both were on point. The service was fast too, which was perfect because my kid was starving. The staff were friendly, the place felt welcoming, and it’s a solid spot for good vegetarian food. Lots of options to choose from.

For a long time, we thought there were no good Indian restaurants in Berlin until we ordered (and picked up) from here. We ordered four main courses, two starters, and various breads, and everything tasted really good. The food wasn't too greasy or under-seasoned. Only the mango lassi was too sweet for my taste. It would be great if the restaurant could make an effort to be more sustainable, as ordering generates a lot of plastic and aluminum waste, and offer an alternative like Vytal. Just a small recommendation ;-) We will definitely order again and look forward to coming back when the restaurants can reopen.

Best Indian restaurant in Berlin

Worst paneer paratha I’ve ever had in my life. Completely raw dough inside, paneer smelled bad and was clearly not fresh. Undercooked, tasteless, and made me sick for hours. Absolute disgrace that this place is allowed to serve such garbage and take people’s money. Zero hygiene, zero cooking skills. Don’t waste your money here — total scam. 1 star is too much for this pathetic food. Never coming back. Stay far away! 🤮

The food was good but the service here was horrible. I visited this restaurant on 18 November around 9:20 PM, and it turned out to be one of the most disappointing and unprofessional dining experiences I’ve had. When we entered, we were simply looking for a place to sit — either downstairs or upstairs — but instead of assisting us, the staff rudely said, “Come fast, you only have 10 minutes,” even though the official closing time was 10:00 PM. This created an unwelcoming atmosphere right from the start. At no point were we informed that bringing our own water bottle was not allowed. Yet, we overheard the staff speaking disrespectfully about us to another customer, saying that we “have no sense” and “don’t know how to behave in public,” simply because we used our own bottle. This was completely inappropriate and unprofessional. To make matters worse, the waiter asked us to pay when we were eating and when we were paying and asked for the receipt, the staff member ignored us and walked away without acknowledging the request. We understand that due to long working hours and everything a person might get tired but seriously is this a way to behave with any customer? We felt that we are taken for granted just because we are Indian customers. I doubt if the waiter had same guts to behave this way with German customers Overall, this was the most unprofessional and disappointing restaurant experience I’ve had in Berlin. I cannot recommend this place to any of my friends or acquaintances at all.

We had celebrated our child's birthday in Swadishta(Quellweg branch). All the food prepared were awesome 👌..especially the chaat items tasted like we have it in India. All the guests enjoyed the food alot. Really appreciate Mr.Deepak Patil for the arrangements made.

Ordered food for an corporate event (100 people) from Swadishta. Every single person complimented the authenticity of the food. Tasty and spicy Indian food everyone devoured. One more note to add here is how easy it was to work with Deepak (owner). We received the food on time and he helped accommodate additional requests from our part. The best vegetarian Indian food in Berlin

Authentic vegetarian Indian food! We had heard a lot about Swadista from our and we finally decided to give it a try. It is located in schoneberg, which is a bit far from our place in Pankow. We ordered pani-puri and panner pakoda for starters, which our toddler really liked. For main-course we went with allu paratha, mutter paneer, and manchurian with noodles. Everything was delicious and tasted authentic Indian. The staff here was nice and polite, albeit a little slow. We will definitely be back here.

We placed a large office order for our Diwali event, and everything was excellent. The vada pavs, samosas and motichoor laddoos were delicious and authentically prepared — right down to the fried green chillies! Delivery was perfectly timed and very well coordinated.

One of “THE BEST” Masala Dosa in Berlin, hands down. I have tried dosas in many place this place never let me down every time. It has great vegetarian options especially from Maharashtra. Great Service!

The food was far too expensive; instead of a variety of ingredients, there were only beans, peas, onions, and a small amount of paneer. No dried fruit, for example. When I asked for more, I was just given blank stares, and my change was given to me in a lot of small change.

We ordered catering from Swadishta for an event at home, and everything was perfect! Deepak was incredibly helpful in suggesting the right dishes for the occasion and the event duration. He not only assisted with the planning but also ensured that the food was delivered hot and on time. We ordered Vada Pav (which was a total hit!) and Masala Idli for snacks, followed by Manchurian, Fried Rice, and Pav Bhaji for dinner. Deepak even suggested delivering the food in two batches to maintain freshness — a thoughtful touch that made a real difference. Everyone absolutely loved the food, and we couldn’t be happier with the service. Highly recommended for any occasion!

I ordered food for a house party. The food was absolutely delicious esp vada pav and dal makhani. The quantity was sufficient and totally worth the price. I highly recommend this place for the authentic Indian food.

Visited Swadishta Schöneberg recently, it’s a fully vegetarian Indian restaurant and honestly, the food was amazing! I tried their Dal Makhni and Dal Tadka, and both were rich, flavorful, and tasted just like home. The place has a warm, cozy vibe, and the staff were super friendly and welcoming. It’s a great spot if you’re craving real Indian comfort food in Berlin. Definitely worth a visit

Worst indo Chinese food. The food was extremely disappointing. We ordered the Veg Manchow Soup and Veg Hakka Noodles, and both were terrible. The soup was overly salty and sour, with an artificial red sauce flavor and an unappetizing color. The noodles were excessively oily and sour, nothing close to indian Chinese taste. Definitely not a place I’d recommend for Indo-Chinese food.

Authentic Indian cuisine that stands out from the usual Indian restaurants. The dishes, hand-selected and cooked by the owner herself, are perfectly executed by the kitchen team. Everything is made with fresh ingredients. A definite recommendation. It couldn't be better in India.

Hey review seekers, I’m giving this review with genuine feelings. I had been in germany since 7 years but never tasted this kind of delicious 😋 food. Trust me you will enjoy your meal when you visit. On top, I’m from Frankfurt and still I want to encourage their cuisines to most of our Indians.

The Special Thali is a must-try if you want the full experience. The thali had the perfect balance of flavors and texture and pairing it with Amrakhand makes it unforgettable. The food is good. Large selection. The service is rather unfriendly, and the restaurant is shabby. Dirty tables... terrible smell. As if someone had walked through the restaurant with a chemical air freshener... Only men serving. I wouldn't have gone in if I hadn't ordered and would have driven there especially. It's a shame, actually. I had previously ordered a dal dish via Wolt and thought it was absolutely delicious. Now that I know what it looks like, smells like, and feels like, I'd rather not go there again...

We recently had a catered lunch from Swadishta at our company and it was mind blowing! We wanted authentic Maharashtrian food and we suggested the menu and the coordinating person Deepak makes some alternate suggestions that worked so well! My colleagues were so happy to eat transitional maharashtrian food which is not commonly available and was certainly different for them than what they know as Indian food! We got poli, bharli vangi, varan, bhaat, vada pav and amrakhanda! I mean cmon to have this in Berlin is a dream! The service also was phenomenal! They set everything up in time and cleaned everything after! The food was so good that there were no leftovers! Absolutely recommend this place!

I went here for dinner during the Ganpati festival because I was really craving some Maharashtrian food especially Puranpoli. And wow, it did not disappoint! The Puranpoli was honestly the best I’ve had in Germany. The Amti was tasty too, though I personally would’ve liked it a bit spicier. The Varan on the Bhat felt a little less in quantity, but the Amti definitely made up for it. And the Modak in the thali… just amazing, totally worth it! Overall, I had a really great experience and would happily go back.

My mother and I had the special Ganeshotsav thali available throughout the festival till the 7th September. It was mindblowing. Really delicious and authentic in composition of the thali & taste. We are maharashtrians & were missing the flavour of home. This thali was all we needed. For drink I had the sol kadi, which was scrumptious too and perfect for the warm day today. My mom had a mango shake which she loved. It was a fabulous meal with attentive service & a hospitable space. Recommend everyone to try this thali!

We keep going to Swadishta often, especially for a typical Indian meal on any of the festivals days. This time we went for Ganesh Chaturthi (elephant god festival) and I was craving some modak (sweet dumpling with coconut and jaggery filling) and it did not disappoint at all. Had the Special Thali and every food item on my plate took me back to India.

Very disappointed with the behavior of the staff at this restaurant. We were standing right at the entrance, about to go inside around 20:35, when one of the staff members said “ehna nu ander lai a” (let them inside). However, another person rudely replied “ape a jaan ge, ehna nu kehra disda nhi” (they will go on their own, they can clearly see). As a customer, I found this extremely unprofessional and disrespectful. Such an attitude creates a very unwelcoming experience before we even step inside. Respect and hospitality should be the foundation of customer service, and unfortunately, that was completely missing here.

On the day of festival , the food reminded me of home . Taste on top - 10/10

I have been here a few times now. First time, they charged me extra for the chutney I never took. When I pointed out, they said they will discount accordingly during my next visit. But next time they didn’t saying that the person who promised is not here. I went the next time and another story. The taste is fine but my experience is a bit dampened because of this experience. So my rating is more for the service rather than the food. I went on the opening of the Spandau branch and met the owner and he was very warm to talk. But the memory of being charged extra always stays and so I haven’t been there for a while.

The food was truly exceptional. I had requested the veg Kolhapuri to be made Indian spicy, and the owner took my request seriously. The taste was spot-on, and the spice level was just right. The owner was incredibly warm and greeted us warmly.

We planned our son's Birthday party and the menu was very nice my son and his friends liked it a lot. The staff was very accommodating as we were around 20-25 people they accommodated us in a very nice way so that we all can sit together. There is offer shown on the page but when uh visit in person they totally denied that we have not this offer even they don’t give any clarification without informing us. They just go and came ask about h what to order. I don’t want to recommend this. Am not satisfy with their services.

I've been to Swadhista for almost 6 times now, have come here along with my friends as well as office colleagues and never disappointed. Being a Maharashtrian I loved the authenticity for local dishes and quantity Swadhista has. Very customer friendly staff. All of the items are very tasty, especially their Sol-kadi is out of the world. The SPDP and samosa-chaat are our mandatory siders everytime. Do try it yourself :) P.S: They also serve German-friendly dishes, also winiger scharf :-P

Super delicious food with attentive and friendly service

I wanted to eat there alone and wasn't served at first. After asking, I was served, but they were very unfriendly. The naan was burnt and tasted of nothing in the unburned parts. The dal was okay.

Very good variation of dishes offered. Especially found some tasty regional dishes which are hard to find in Germany as whole. Portions were also good.

Service was slow. We ordered a tomato soup, chole puri and cheese dosa. Tomato soup was outstanding. Chole Puri had puri which was a bit more oily and chole were too sour. However, the quantity was very generous. The sambar with cheese dosa was 1 of the worst I ever had and the dosa felt more like uttapam due to it's thickness. Overall, won't consider it again as there are a lot of other alternatives for Indian cuisine.
