Ganesha special thali was really authentic and tasty. Must try.

Swadishta is always the go to place! I recently visited on the occasion of ganesh chaturthi and really loved the special thali especially the mouth watering modaks. I genuinely recommend you to visit the restaurant.

I went here for dinner during the Ganpati festival because I was really craving some Maharashtrian food especially Puranpoli. And wow, it did not disappoint! The Puranpoli was honestly the best I’ve had in Germany. The Amti was tasty too, though I personally would’ve liked it a bit spicier. The Varan on the Bhat felt a little less in quantity, but the Amti definitely made up for it. And the Modak in the thali… just amazing, totally worth it! Overall, I had a really great experience and would happily go back.

Excellent place for delicious Indian meals, it’s rare to get the right flavors which is served well here. The staff at Swadisht is also friendly and I always visit their place whenever I’m in Berlin. Highly recommended

My mother and I had the special Ganeshotsav thali available throughout the festival till the 7th September. It was mindblowing. Really delicious and authentic in composition of the thali & taste. We are maharashtrians & were missing the flavour of home. This thali was all we needed. For drink I had the sol kadi, which was scrumptious too and perfect for the warm day today. My mom had a mango shake which she loved. It was a fabulous meal with attentive service & a hospitable space. Recommend everyone to try this thali!

We keep going to Swadishta often, especially for a typical Indian meal on any of the festivals days. This time we went for Ganesh Chaturthi (elephant god festival) and I was craving some modak (sweet dumpling with coconut and jaggery filling) and it did not disappoint at all. Had the Special Thali and every food item on my plate took me back to India.

Very disappointed with the behavior of the staff at this restaurant. We were standing right at the entrance, about to go inside around 20:35, when one of the staff members said “ehna nu ander lai a” (let them inside). However, another person rudely replied “ape a jaan ge, ehna nu kehra disda nhi” (they will go on their own, they can clearly see). As a customer, I found this extremely unprofessional and disrespectful. Such an attitude creates a very unwelcoming experience before we even step inside. Respect and hospitality should be the foundation of customer service, and unfortunately, that was completely missing here.

Authentic tasting vegetarian Indian food. Dahi Puri and samosa chat highly recommended.

My favorite restaurant when I feel like eating Indian food. Be sure to try the Indian street food dishes. These are flavors that are less familiar, but truly unique.

I have been here a few times now. First time, they charged me extra for the chutney I never took. When I pointed out, they said they will discount accordingly during my next visit. But next time they didn’t saying that the person who promised is not here. I went the next time and another story. The taste is fine but my experience is a bit dampened because of this experience. So my rating is more for the service rather than the food. I went on the opening of the Spandau branch and met the owner and he was very warm to talk. But the memory of being charged extra always stays and so I haven’t been there for a while.

The food was truly exceptional. I had requested the veg Kolhapuri to be made Indian spicy, and the owner took my request seriously. The taste was spot-on, and the spice level was just right. The owner was incredibly warm and greeted us warmly.

We planned our son's Birthday party and the menu was very nice my son and his friends liked it a lot. The staff was very accommodating as we were around 20-25 people they accommodated us in a very nice way so that we all can sit together. The food was very tasty and very authentic to Indian taste I always like ordering from them and having regular meals there because of the hospitality and the taste of the food.😊 Highly recommended 😊👍

There is offer shown on the page but when uh visit in person they totally denied that we have not this offer even they don’t give any clarification without informing us. They just go and came ask about h what to order. I don’t want to recommend this. Am not satisfy with their services.

I've been to Swadhista for almost 6 times now, have come here along with my friends as well as office colleagues and never disappointed. Being a Maharashtrian I loved the authenticity for local dishes and quantity Swadhista has. Very customer friendly staff. All of the items are very tasty, especially their Sol-kadi is out of the world. The SPDP and samosa-chaat are our mandatory siders everytime. Do try it yourself :) P.S: They also serve German-friendly dishes, also winiger scharf :-P

Super delicious food with attentive and friendly service

I wanted to eat there alone and wasn't served at first. After asking, I was served, but they were very unfriendly. The naan was burnt and tasted of nothing in the unburned parts. The dal was okay.

Very good variation of dishes offered. Especially found some tasty regional dishes which are hard to find in Germany as whole. Portions were also good.

Service was slow. We ordered a tomato soup, chole puri and cheese dosa. Tomato soup was outstanding. Chole Puri had puri which was a bit more oily and chole were too sour. However, the quantity was very generous. The sambar with cheese dosa was 1 of the worst I ever had and the dosa felt more like uttapam due to it's thickness. Overall, won't consider it again as there are a lot of other alternatives for Indian cuisine.

I don’t usually leave negative reviews, but I felt compelled after today’s experience. I ordered Paneer Butter Masala from this restaurant, and it was extremely disappointing. The dish was basically just tomato purée with paneer — no proper spices, no depth of flavor. It tasted sweet and tangy, not at all how this dish is supposed to be. I’ve been living here for five years and have tried many Indian restaurants, but this was honestly the worst experience I’ve had. I don’t like writing such reviews, but I couldn’t hold back after tasting it. I do not recommend ordering from here.

We were regular customers at Swadishta for three years. The friendly staff, clean ambiance, and, of course, the excellent food made us happy to return there every season. Unfortunately, the staff has changed, and with it, the ambiance and cleanliness have deteriorated.

Pani puri is exceptional! Best Indian food I have ever had. Such developed flavours! The staff are helpful and friendly!

Food was decent but super rude waiters.

The worst and the most bullshit restaurant ever. Lying employees with zero care of customer service and are rude to the e. I placed an online order for which the time to delivery changed from 25 minutes to 35 to 44 to 54 minutes and I called them to cancel the order but they said that they never received it in a very rude way like they were trying to get rid of me so that the order is not cancelled. Still they said, "Hypothetically, even if we had your order, we wouldn't cancel it as the order is already placed now." After persistent efforts, they said that I can call the app I ordered from. The app said the restaurant delivers the order themselves and I have to contact them for refund and I was stuck in this never ending loop. Don't order from here if you care about the worth of your money and good service.

The worst service to get. Few years back it was very good but now lack of staff lack of management the staff doesn't know how to manage if there are more then 3 table reserved. Mix the orders every forgets it sometime. They don't even greet you nicely not recommended

Really mediocre (just don't go by photo. I am talking about taste here). Ate Kachchi Dhabeli, Sev Puri and Misal Pav Thali. Super oily and cold Pav, mediocre taste and half the things in the menu weren't available because the chef was out on leave. Chai was really good. Will not go back for sure. 🙏🏻

I went for the Maharashtrian thali, and it was honestly one of the best Marathi meals I’ve ever had. Every dish was full of authentic flavor and beautifully prepared. I also highly recommend trying the chaat especially the dabeli and vada pav, which were both excellent. A truly satisfying experience for anyone craving genuine Indian street food. Highly recommended and definitely a must-visit!

The stuff is only of 2 member also and that too are rude not evening smiling just attend german customers and its get full the staff forgets the orders to bring or what the order was and dnt even attend them properly. Never ever will visit this place again. Its the 3rd time this happened its getting worse every time

I can't understand the consistently positive reviews. The food was cold and unloving, the service unfriendly and dismissive. And the prices were way too high (drinks, in particular, are extortionate!). The restaurant is also unkempt.

A Disgrace to Indian Hospitality – Cold Food, Hot Drinks, and Zero Humanity If I could give negative stars, I would. My order (worth €92) was scheduled for pickup via Wolt at 3:30 PM. At 5:00 PM, Wolt still showed it as “in production.” Out of frustration, I went to the restaurant myself at 4:00 PM — and guess what? The food was already sitting cold and unattended on a table while the staff were outside scrolling their phones. When I confronted them, the man simply said, “Take your order from the table.” No apology. No ownership. Just complete apathy. The food? Ice-cold. The “cold drinks”? Literally warm — not even room temperature. I asked them to at least switch them for cold ones — their answer: “We don’t have cold ones.” I asked for a glass of water after all that waiting — they refused unless I paid for it. Not even a basic courtesy offered. You’re running a restaurant that claims to represent India — a country known for its unmatched hospitality — and this is how you treat customers? Empty restaurant, rude staff, cold food, zero service. Absolutely barbaric experience. You don’t just ruin a meal — you ruin trust. To the owners: If you have any self-respect left, fix your staff, fix your attitude, and stop dragging India’s name through the dirt. Attaching proof that even by 5 PM the order still shows “in production.”

This is the only restaurant in Berlin that reminds me of home! The menu is all vegetarian, and has a vast variety of street food to main course foods. I'd highly suggest trying all of their chats as they are too good to be missed! My favorite is SPDP - it tastes truly divine. Another thing that is not to miss is the manchoorian - which is bang on and reminds us of home! Service is really good, and it is also value for money!

Amazing food, go there for some authentic Maharashtrian Cuisine. We had the popular Mumbai street food - Vada Pav & Dabeli along with the Maharashtrian Thali. The ambience is just okay, we hope they have more friendly and welcoming staff. The menu is vegan & vegetarian. Will go there again for the food :)

Dinner Review - poor management, staff does not understand difference between vegan and vegetarian. We entered the restaurant at 9:15 pm and they let us in- after placing order for starters they pushed us to order mains by 9:45 as the chefs leave. All good so far agreeable. Now while pacing the order they did not make a lot of things clear eg: Tofu tikka was not gravy based. Menu had options clearly marked as vegan and vegetarian but staff on the ground understanding this clearly lacked. Was not told to us that this tofu tikka will be sizzler based - am I supposed to imagine this ? And is served with rice. So we ordered Alu Paratha to go with it , which by the way was marked vegan on the menu and when it arrived the server casually says this has butter on it. The tofu tikka thing had tofu tasting like it was fried days ago and reused. Vadapav marked as vegan on the menu that we ordered as a starter - here also we had to get a confirmation if it was fried in butter. I will not recommend this to any Vegan person who’s excited to be eating at a Restaurant that does not serve chopped animals - the staff clearly does not know the difference between vegan & vegetarian.

Amazing Maharashtrian Flavors in Berlin! This authentic Maharashtrian restaurant is a must-visit! The Vada Pav is perfectly crispy and flavorful, just like back home. I loved the live chaat counter where they prepare fresh Pani Puri, samosa chat and Bhel right before your eyes — so tasty and authentic! They offer a great variety of traditional dishes that truly capture the spirit of Maharashtra. Friendly staff and a cozy vibe make it the perfect spot for anyone craving genuine Maharashtrian street food in Berlin.

Great place to eat with a quiet atmosphere. The Special Hyderabadi Biryani is a must-try! Pav Bhaji could have been softer, as it was a bit dry. Overall, a lovely experience.

DAYLIGHT ROBBERY! Was here 2 months before with my girlfriend I want to comment about their dishonest practice. Accidentally paid €50 instead of €40 over their PayPal (which obviously included a 10% tip over a bill of €36). Once paid, the restaurant didn't give a damn even if it was a minute after paying and told us they cannot return it. The waiter said the owner will return the money and took my number. Did not bother to call. Contacted the owner over PayPal and still did not return the money. Clearly, they did not want to return the unearned money. If this is not robbery, I don't know what is. WHAT A SHAMELESS BEHAVIOUR! Such practices are questioning the honesty of these people running the business. Makes it even more difficult for me to tip these scammers. On top of this, the tables were not clean and spider web along the walls. No wonder why nobody was visiting here - huge place with all tables empty. At least, could have served their only visitors well. We would NEVER VISIT again and would NEVER RECOMMEND anyone reading this comment to visit. Editing to respond to the owner's comment - 1. Your employee told us card payment is not working but I can send PayPal to the owner's PayPal. 2. That's why I mentioned "Accidentally" 3. Your employee took my phone number and promised a callback and the owner will refund via the PayPal. Money was paid from my girlfriend's PayPal. Either your own employee has scammed you or you had no intention of returning that money even after taking our phone number and us following back to you. Either way, loss is customer's. Plus I already got in touch with the WhatsApp number mentioned in the website and they still have no intention of paying it back.

We ordered catering from Swadishta and the food was delivered on time in really good packing it was still warm after 2 hours of delivery. Food was really amazing it added the flavour to our party with its amazing taste. Paneer Jalfrezi - Yummy! Paneer was soft and not chewy Roti and daal - Amazing were like homemade so authentic ❤️ Gobi Manchurian- Hero of the menu we really loved it and it was so amazing felt like we are back in India. It’s not only us appreciating but all the guests in party appreciated the food and took the contact of restaurant from us 😻 Looking forward to visit again feels now it will be the go to spot for all time for us. It's a bit out of the way on a side street, but that's a great thing. It's very quiet, and you can really enjoy the food. We discovered this small restaurant by chance and got a seat right away. We were able to sit outside, which was lovely given the quiet location. The menu offers a wide variety, and it's really hard to decide. We ordered several things. Everything was super delicious. Everyone was friendly and patient with us until we made our decision. The fact that everything is vegetarian doesn't bother us. I didn't miss anything. Simply delicious. We'll be happy to come back on our next visit to Berlin.

Yesterday me and my man went to this restaurant just for starters and they have dealt us with in good way but after receiving the food . In the back there staff was also having lunch while we were eating they started talking so loud and afterwards they engaged in a quarrel which was not ending anytime soon they were also abusing each other in their mother language which I can understand . As me and man we both also work in the same field it was very awkward for us to even eat there and quite difficult for us to even talk that seems very unprofessional and uncomfortable for us. Later we waited quite long for our waitress to come and give the bill to us but she didn’t came at all . So, we asked a guy in the back to give us the bill. It was not a good experience for us with the service and their hospitality but their food was really good .

Super delicious food and very friendly staff (got great advice, fluent in English and German). With these flavors you don't miss meat, said my companion. I can highly recommend No. 552 (authentic Indian food from the south), it's just too much for one person, but it's great to share or take the rest with you. The bathura and butter paneer as well as butter curry with potato dumplings was also very good. You want to sink your teeth into the sauce, it's that good. I would easily eat there once a week, the variety on offer is so varied and delicious. :) Absolute recommendation!

We had ordered food for a birthday party for 20 people. The food was delivered on time and tasty as usual. We love coming back to Swadishta for food/chaat even if it’s a 45 mins drive for us.
