Bodega Dali in München

Making a reservation online wasn't a problem. There was a bit of confusion on site, and it felt like they had to find a seat for us first. A bit odd, but not particularly tragic. We waited about 45 minutes for our drinks, then they forgot to bring a wine glass to the carafe, for which we waited another 5-10 minutes. After asking the friendly waitress again, the food was served. We had tapas for dinner—nothing extraordinary, but nothing to complain about either. The tortilla con queso gratinado, on the other hand, was very good. So, a solid meal for the usual Munich prices. The ambiance, as far as the outdoor area was concerned, was rustic—nothing extraordinary, but nothing to complain about either. I fully understand that some days things don't go smoothly, and all in all, it was still a nice visit, hence the well-intentioned 3 stars. Definitely worth a try, but perhaps not with particularly high expectations.

I came here on a recommendation, but was rather disappointed. The vegetarian starter platter consisted mostly of dips for €16, the hot food wasn't hot when it came out, and the espresso was burnt. Nevertheless, the service was very friendly and the atmosphere was cozy. Perhaps a few guests arrived at the same time, causing chaos in the kitchen. You'd probably have a better experience at other times. Overall, it was okay, but I probably wouldn't go again.

The atmosphere was pleasant, the tapas mediocre. Sitting outside on a balmy summer evening in a very beautiful spot in Munich, the service was attentive, and our orders were brought promptly. The cloudy red sangria was so-so; some tapas were tasty, others bland and uninspired. The shrimp were swimming in oil, and the garlic bread was completely drowned in it.

We ate outdoors. Albondigas were excellent, tortilla dry and poor and the third didn't materialise. The sangria, too cold. The service was cursory and abrupt.

We (5 people + dog) were there late in the weekday afternoon. It was very quiet, with few visitors yet. The food was delicious, the staff extremely friendly and helpful. Thank you! Ambience: The basement has simple furniture, but it has something special. Cozy seating areas here and there. The only downside: there was a dining table for two right next to the entrance to the restroom. I understand that you want to accommodate as many visitors as possible and generate as much revenue as possible. But forcing your own customers to sit and eat next to a restroom sends a bad message and leaves an unpleasant impression. Please move the table somewhere else.

Now after so many years we've finally made it and are annoyed... that we didn't find our way here sooner! So the food speaks for itself, all of the best quality. The ambience is of course also great. What you don't see in photos: The service is excellent! The entire staff keeps an eye on the guests, but no one does Something is missing at the moment. We loved it so much and we are definitely coming back soon! “5 stars plus”

Update January 2025: Very friendly, attentive service, who spontaneously found us a seat on a Friday evening. Good red house wine. The vegetarian appetizer platter was pretty much dodgy. Apart from a few olives, cheese, and a kind of tart, it contained nothing exciting. The prawns were very good, the dates wrapped in bacon, and the croquettes were mediocre. Apparently, card payments aren't very welcome. We didn't understand the comment, "Oh yeah, it's okay, the evening's still long." What about change? Overall, though, it's still an absolute restaurant recommendation in Schwabing. --- Nice little bodega on Tengstraße. Best for sharing small dishes. We recommend the meatballs in spicy sauce, the sardines, and the prawns in oil. The white house wine was less good. The alternative Chardonnay on the menu was unfortunately sold out. Charming, winding rooms in the semi-basement, very clean restrooms.

Nice atmosphere. Food: Charizo - amazing, green asparagus, scampi in olive oil, octopus, almond cake - great, the rest is good. The staff is all friendly, but the service is unfortunately extremely slow. The atmosphere is really cozy.

Tiny portions, uninspired food. The mixed cold tapas, in particular, were a disgrace and a far cry from Spanish. Service was quite nice but extremely slow, even though the place was almost empty. The wine was the only thing that was okay. Bodega Dali is unfortunately a shadow of what it used to be. What a shame...

Super delicious tapas & sangria

Even thought the staff was really kind the service was not optimal. We received our food ordering quickly but got our drinks almost 15 minutes after the food! That was quite unpleasant.

The food is fantastic, the tapas are very good, and the vermouth is excellent. In my opinion, the potato omelet could have been more undercooked. I missed the aioli in the patatas bravas sauce, but they were good. The service is great, very friendly and attentive. The atmosphere is very nice.

An authentic place with authentic and good food. However, the tapas are a bit overpriced. The atmosphere in the cellar vault is excellent. All in all, a good choice.

I found this restaurant online while searching for the best in Munich. Since I've been to Spain several times, I wanted to show my husband how good the tapas are. 🙂 Everything was simply delicious and great. We ordered the prawns (although that was the only thing I didn't like), and the best aioli I've ever had here! The olives, the croquettes, the chicken strips, and the green peppers were a culinary delight. 🥰 The service was super friendly, I highly recommend it!

Always an experience! Fantastic food and very good Spanish wines (even if the red ones in particular always come to the table a little too cold, but then quickly reach the temperature). Only the tables, which are always a bit "sticky", disturb the overall picture...

We had 2/2 excellent experience there so far, with certainly more to come in the future. The food is delicious, and the individual plates are deceptively filling. Olives, pollo con aioli, chorizo diavolo (flaming chorizo!!), and the champignons would be my go-to recommendation. The different sangria flavors are also tasty and pair really nicely with the food and the atmosphere. Despite the place being packed, service was always friendly and attentive. However, if even more people are there, you might have to wait a bit longer to flag someone down for the next round of plates.

Some of them were at Bodega Dali for the first time and were thrilled by the food and the atmosphere! Cozy and “rustic interior” with lots of corners and niches that might need a bit of polishing up! When it's full, the noise level increases a bit! But we'd love to come back! A reservation for smaller groups is also recommended during the week!

Unfortunately not so great. The atmosphere in the basement is not that atmospheric. The food was drowned in tomato sauce. E.g. The vegetables were basically chunky tomatoes with a few slices of eggplant. The meatballs were also covered in tomato sauce. As if there wasn't already a tomato dip included.

Very cute restaurant in the vaulted cellar at Josephsplatz. The service was super friendly and attentive, the food was very tasty and quite affordable in comparison. At times it got a bit loud with a lot of people in the room, a few acoustic elements might help, but all in all we had a very good evening!

Unfortunately there were only 5 pieces of prawns in the prawns al ajillo. A bit small for the price. Otherwise, as always, it was very nice and tasted good too. The staff was good 👍.

Great location, unfortunately the food was far too oily/greasy and very salty. 110€ for two is already very steep!

We were there for dinner with 4 people. The entrance into the basement creates a good atmosphere and the restaurant looks authentic. The food was very tasty. We enjoyed all the tapas that were ordered and came to the table very quickly. It was a successful evening for us. I'm only deducting a star because of the prices. The tapas are 1-2€ too expensive.

Great food, superb staff. We were particularly impressed by the symphonic chef Khaled; he actually fulfilled an unusual special request. The roast pork in the tapas restaurant was fantastic.

Authentic Spanish Restaurant! Everything was very tasty except for the croquetas, which were a bit dry.

The restaurant is so beautiful and winding in the basement. Food and service excellent. It's great to have a conversation with two people, but as soon as there are more people it becomes more difficult because it's quite reverberating. It's just a vaulted cellar without carpet or other noise absorbers. I always enjoy going there :-)

Our visit to Bodega Dali was great! The staff are extremely friendly and accommodating, the food was brought quickly and everything was delicious! The portions are normal in size, the three of us had 8 different vegetarian tapas and were perfectly full. The sangria was also delicious. You should definitely make a reservation on the weekend as it gets very crowded.

Fantastic food, great location and super nice and beautiful people who serve you. It simply puts you in a good mood when the waitresses stroll through the tables singing and smiling, creating a happy atmosphere. Our waitress in particular (whose name I unfortunately forget) was a beautiful person inside and out!

As a Spaniard, I wouldn't return, Galician-style octopus? A piece of octopus with potatoes more than cooking without paprika, garlic shrimp? The shrimp were almost cold, the oil was not boiled, the flavorless croquettes seemed to have never been bought homemade, garlic chicken? With Moorish flavor and aioli, I don't know if they make mayonnaise. In total, a disaster of flavor will be German tapas, that does not represent Spain in flavor! No where do they get almost 5 stars from, the only thing is the waiters are friendly.

A wonderful tapas bar that immediately impressed us. The entrance may seem a bit confusing at first with its many steps and somewhat winding layout, but once you're inside, you'll immediately fall in love with the charming ambience. The service was excellent - attentive, warm and always available without being intrusive. We enjoyed Negronis, refreshing spritzers and delicious tapas - everything was fresh, lovingly prepared and tasted great. An all-round successful evening with a great atmosphere, fantastic food and first-class service. We'd love to come back!

Very cozy restaurant with lots of little niches that offer you nice privacy. Food super tasty and very original Spanish. I haven't been there for a long time and I'm thrilled that everything is still great after so many years. Be sure to make a reservation because it is very busy even during the week. That speaks for itself.

Why the not so good rating is made up of the following reasons. The ambience is fine, but it would be nice to have a few seat cushions or something so that I could sit more comfortably and therefore for longer. Let's get to the service. Our waitress was very friendly and introduced herself to us, but it took up to 20 minutes for a drink which was simply too long and it took forever before we could even order. The food is okay, but if I have to order 9 dishes for myself, even if they are tapas, and the portions are too small to be full. The food was also sometimes very over-seasoned, it can have a bit of pep, but if it's way too salty it just doesn't taste good and it's no fun when you down your 0.3 beer in one sip for almost €4. Overall, I think the food and drinks are too expensive and the portions are too small. It's a shame, I had hoped for more.

Lively tapas restaurant that impresses with its excellent service.

I just really like it. Nice restaurant, super friendly service and the food is great. The only points that I find unfortunate are that the drinks prices are sometimes steep (0.33 beer and 0.2 cola for around €4 if I remember correctly) and that you can only reserve for 2 hours. I know that the latter in particular is becoming standard practice, especially in Munich, but I still find it uncomfortable and not really appropriate when you've spent well over €100 together that evening.

I like the bodega and have been there several times. I especially think the ambience is very nice. The warm tapas are great (for me especially the albongias, the chorizo ​​and the tortilla with Manchego). There are also very good cold starters - we all didn't think the very small mixed starter plate for 16(!) euros was good and was way too expensive. In general, the restaurant is expensive, but of course also good quality :) The service is great! I think the 2.5 hour rule is a bit of a shame, as you are no longer informed about it when making your reservation (it used to be). Of course I like to write reviews upon request from restaurants, but I think sending two emails about this is a bit much. :)

We had a wonderful evening at Bodega Dali. The restaurant has a very special charm and we felt very comfortable there. The staff is very friendly. The tapas are very tasty. We particularly enjoyed the aioli, mushrooms, bacon-wrapped dates, tortilla and olives. The taste of the sheep's cheese is not convincing. It literally tasted like nothing. All in all a great and delicious evening, I'll be back :)
